The San Diego Padres’ season came to an ugly end on Thursday night in Chicago. After dropping a 3-1 decision to the Cubs in Game 3 of the National League Wild Card round, frustration boiled over, and cameras caught it all.
A viral video quickly surfaced showing Padres players aggressively shouting at the umpiring crew as they walked off the field. The umps had to exit through the Padres’ dugout, which gave San Diego’s players a direct opportunity to let them hear it.

The Padres were clearly upset with how the game was called, but the bigger issue might be their own lack of production at the plate. In the biggest game of their season, San Diego’s offense came up short, failing to deliver the timely hits needed to keep their playoff run alive.
Meanwhile, the Cubs are moving on to the National League Divisional Series, while the Padres will be left stewing over what went wrong, both at the plate and, in their eyes, behind it.
