Victim in Willoughby shooting dies

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A 20-year-old shot Monday, Sept. 15, at a Willoughby apartment complex has died.

Willoughby police responded just before 4 p.m. that day to a shooting in the 1300 block of Fox Run Drive, according to a previous news release.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday morning identified the victim as 20-year-old Damonte K. Perry, of Euclid.

Perry was transported from the Hamlets of Willoughby apartment complex, 1337 Fox Run Drive, to a Willoughby hospital, then flown to a Cleveland hospital, where he died on Thursday, Sept. 18, according to the office.

Officers arrested the suspect in the area hours later, according to the previous release.
