(FOX40.COM) — A vehicle partially fell into the San Joaquin River after its driver had a medical emergency on Friday morning, according to the River Delta Fire District.

The fire agency said it happened around 9:40 a.m. just west of where the Mokelumne and San Joaquin rivers meet.

The rear of the vehicle was inside the water and the driver, a 55-year-old man, was helped out and taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition.

The fire district said the driver had a medical emergency while driving.

Photos shared by the fire agency show a gray-colored sedan partially in the water near a small dock and lots of debris floating on the water.
