(FOX40.COM) — The California Highway Patrol has arrested a suspect for allegedly shooting on the I-80 freeway on May 1.

According to CHP Golden Gate Division, CHP Solano area responded to reports of a possible shooting on eastbound 1-80 east of the Carquinez Bridge. The victim was not injured.
CHP said SIU detectives took over the investigation. With help from Flock Safety cameras, officers were able to identify the suspect as Cameron Michael-Tanner Jones, 31, of Vacaville.
On Aug. 21, around 7 a.m., the Golden Gate Division’s Warrant Service Team arrested Jones at his Vacaville home, CHP said. During the arrest, detectives also seized two firearms during a search of the home.
Officials said Jones has been booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
“Hard work on the part of our detectives has led to yet another violent criminal in custody,” said CHP Golden Gate Division Chief Don Goodbrand. “I commend their unwavering dedication to tracking down those who chose to endanger drivers on our freeways and applaud them for their commitment to apprehending those who commit these terrible acts.”
