UC Davis Athletics has launched “Aggie Ascent,” a $265M master plan outlining phased upgrades to stadiums, training centers and athletics districts across campus.
DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis Athletics has unveiled “Aggie Ascent,” a new long-term facilities master plan that outlines the future of athletics infrastructure at the university.
Developed in partnership with ELS Architecture and Urban Design, the plan marks UC Davis’ first unified vision for athletics facilities and focuses on innovation, sustainability and enhancing the student-athlete and fan experience.
According to UC Davis Athletics, Aggie Ascent establishes a $265 million, phased, gift-driven roadmap to develop new and upgraded facilities across campus.
The initiative includes two major athletics districts, East and West, designed to create a more connected environment for teams and the wider campus community.
“As we transition into the Mountain West Conference, Aggie Ascent is about more than facilities — it’s about aligning with the future of Division I athletics,” Director of Athletics Rocko DeLuca said in the announcement.
Early project priorities include a $50 million expansion of UC Davis Health Stadium, which will feature new premium seating, suites, an upgraded hospitality concourse and a year-round special event space.
The plan also calls for a new NCAA-compliant Woody Wilson Track & Field Complex, a $14.5 million project with an eight-lane track, integrated throws area and west-facing spectator seating. An $18.7 million Golf Training Center, designed for both student-athletes and the surrounding community, is also part of the first phase.
Future phases would upgrade baseball, soccer and the University Credit Union Center. A new softball stadium, complete with locker rooms and fan amenities, is planned as part of a larger south campus redevelopment expected after 2035.
Aggie Ascent will advance as private support and strategic partnerships are secured. UC Davis Athletics highlighted opportunities for donor involvement, including naming rights and foundational gifts.
