A Twitter user is concerned about the security and safety of OKX after he shared a screenshot of what appears to be the exchange leaking his account information.

Data leak at OKX

He also claims that OKX, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange, mishandled and sold his privacy and transaction data apart from running deceptive advertisements.

The disgruntled user goes on to say that they were promised a free non-fungible token (NFT) mystery package after signing up but are yet to receive them. Instead, they were given a coupon to avoid paying a commission on subsequent purchases.

OKX founder responds to the allegations

In his statement, the user claims that the exchange has not lived up to its promises and that the advertisement was a scam to pump up the number of users. He further asserts that the exchange sold their private information without permission.

Star, the founder of OKX Exchange, replied to the allegations by stating that they have an open case to examine the customer’s complaint. He also apologized for the inconvenience caused and that they had no desire to compromise the privacy of their clients.

A tweet regarding leaking clients’ information was also published on Dec. 24 by Twitter user. He acknowledged receiving a phishing SMS from a fictitious OKX agent telling him to upgrade his account for access.
