Leonardo DiCaprio revealed a side of himself the public rarely sees during a candid commercial break moment at the Golden Globes earlier this week.
But now Teyana Taylor, 35, has revealed the truth behind the viral moment, and explained what the conversation was that had the 51-year-old talking so animatedly.
“What do you think of the viral K-pop Leo video?” one reporter asked Taylor at The Rip premiere red carpet in New York City – and she was quick to respond.

“Oh, my God. He was talking to me,” she said, according to US Weekly.
“That’s what makes it even funnier.”
In another interview with Access Hollywood, the actress revealed that they were discussing KPop Demon Hunters and their win.

“He’s talking to me, yes,” Taylor said of her One Battle After Another co-star.
“…I want to say we might have been talking about KPop Demon Hunters, because I was so happy when they won, because my kids love KPop Demon Hunters. So I was over there just jamming and I think he caught me jamming and that’s when we started talking about it.”
Taylor, who won her first Golden Globe at the 2026 award show, admitted that she “blacked out” for most of the night but does remember chatting with DiCaprio.
She recalled telling him about how much her daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., 10, and Rue Rose Shumpert, five, are big fans of KPop Demon Hunters.
Taylor said she couldn’t help but jam so hard when Golden came on, which is what triggered the now viral moment.
“But I didn’t know that that whole moment was being captured,” she added.
The moment of DiCaprio was uncharacteristic but instantly won over fans across the internet.

In the clip, he mouths something to the person – which we now know was Taylor – and then re-enacts what the person was doing, pointing around himself with plenty of flourish.
He touches his lips. He mimes a moment of realisation. He cracks himself up again so much that he then re-enacts his own re-enactment, with more points and what appears to be a stage-whispered “K-pop”.
And then, as quickly as that flash of personality appeared, he went back to the stone-cold serious DiCaprio.
