TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Troy man is facing an additional charge after troopers continued to investigate a sexual assault of a child. According to New York State Police, Zachary Clark, was arrested for the alleged possession of a sexual performance by a child.
In the continued investigation, troopers said Clark allegedly had images consistent with child sexual exploitation. This discovery led troopers to execute a search warrant of his home on October 15.
Subsequently, he was arrested at the scene, charged with the felony and issued an appearance ticket to the Malta Town Court on October 16. He has since been released.
According to troopers, Clark was previously arrested in a child sex abuse investigation, which the new charge stemmed from.
That investigation determined that between 2018 and 2019, Clark reportedly sexually assaulted a child under the age of 11, multiple times in Ballston. He was charged with first degree criminal sexual act and first degree sexual abuse.
According to New York State Law, the criminal sexual act charge suggests Clark engaged in oral or anal sexual conduct with the victim. If convicted of the charge, Clark could face up to 25 years in prison and 20 years of probation.
