CANBY, Ore. — A Union Pacific train crashed into a logging truck south of Canby on Monday morning, prompting an hours-long road closure but no reported injuries.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of South Barlow Road and Highway 99E. Investigators said the logging truck was stopped at a red light when the railroad crossing signals activated. The driver was unable to move without hitting other vehicles, and the train struck the truck between two trailers.
Canby Fire District responded with help from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and Monitor Fire. Crews checked the train for hazardous materials but found no concerns.
