(FOX40.COM) — Two suspects were arrested for consecutive batteries on an officer in Stockton on Tuesday night, according to the Stockton Police Department.

In the Seaport District, Officers conducted a traffic stop on El Dorado Street and Jackson Street for a traffic violation. Authorities said that the driver was uncooperative and refused the leave his vehicle.
While attempting to detain the suspect, 26-year-old Fernando Trujillo struck an officer. Officers forced him into custody and had to utilize a restraint device, SPD said.
As officers were handling the traffic stop, an uninvolved individual approached them, kicked an officer, and fled the scene.
After a short foot pursuit, 20-year-old Alberto Gonzalez was taken into custody for resisting arrest and battery on an officer, SPD said.
Trujillo is facing charges for resisting arrest, battery on an officer, traffic violations and driving under the influence, according to SPD.
