Toasty Easter Sunday, Start to April – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

[ad_1]

Piedmont highs will cruise into the 80s for each of the next three days ahead.

Highs topped out in the upper 70s across the Piedmont and Foothills on this penultimate day of March, and it only gets warmer as we move into April. This Easter Sunday will be the warmest we’ve seen since 2011 – 13 years ago. Expect highs to cruise well into the 80s as we close out March. More clouds build back into the Carolinas by April Fools’ Day, but the temperatures will be no joke. Monday may be the warmest day we’ve seen all year; highs will approach 85º to kick off the workweek.

Temperatures should carry into the 80s for a third straight day on Tuesday despite mostly cloudy skies. An incoming system will bring showers and even a few storms by Tuesday night, lasting through Wednesday morning. Although nothing looks concerning at the moment, we’ll need to watch this system carefully as it moves east. Much colder air filters in behind the system; significant mountain snow is possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Patchy frost is possible across the Piedmont this coming Friday.

Tonight: Clear and cool. Low: 51°. Wind: SW 5-10.

Easter Sunday: Sunny and warm. High: 83°. Wind: SW 5-15.

Sunday Night: Clouds build. Mild. Low: 62°. Wind: SW 5-15. Gusts: 20+

Monday: Partly sunny. Near-record highs. High: 85°. Wind: SW 10-20. Gusts: 25+
