DENVER (KDVR) — Tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown on Saturday are still available, but they’re one of the priciest tickets in the NCAA this week.

The Rocky Mountain Showdown is a competitive matchup between the University of Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State University Rams. While it’s an instate rivalry, the tradition has gained national popularity.

Last season, ESPN said the game broke viewing records, registering 9.3 million viewers and landing as ESPN’s fifth most-watched game for college football. It’s still too soon to tell how many people will be tuning in to the showdown on Saturday, but tickets to the matchup are one of the most coveted tickets this week.

Tickets for Saturday’s game at CSU’s Canvas Stadium are going for an average of $272, according to Vivid Seats, which is more than eight times the cost of a Rams ticket for the next game at the stadium against the University of Texas at El Paso Miners, which are going for as low as $33 as of Wednesday.

For the Buffs, Rocky Mountain Showdown tickets are almost more than double their next game at Folsom Field against the Baylor Bears, which are going for as low as under $150 as of Wednesday.

Highest average price for NCAA tickets this week

Here are the “hottest” tickets in the NCAA this week, according to Vivid Seats.

Rank Game Average ticket price
1 Alabama Crimson Tide at Wisconsin Badgers $302
2 Colorado Buffaloes at Colorado State Rams $272
3 Oregon Ducks at Oregon State Beavers $204
4 Georgia Bulldogs at Kentucky Wildcats $194
5 University of Central Florida Knights at Texas Christian University Horned Frogs $173

Last year, the majority of ticketholders were Buffs fans who dominated the crowd at Folsom Field with over 90% of the fans rooting for CU. However, this season’s matchup takes place in CSU’s domain at Canvas Stadium for the first time in decades.

Vivid Seats told FOX31 that 62% of the crowd will be rooting for the Rams while 38% will be CU fans.
