These Coloradans won medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games

DENVER (KDVR) – Colorado sent nine athletes to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Four of them ended up bringing home medals, with eight medals overall: One gold, seven silver and one bronze.
A majority of these athletes hail from Colorado Springs, which is the home to the Colorado Springs Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. One of the winning athletes is from the Denver metro area.
Hailey Danz
Hailey Danz, of Colorado Springs, won the gold medal in the Women’s Paratriathalon PTS2. PTS2 refers to the specific paratriathalon event Danz competes in.
She finished the race with a 1:14:31 time.
This was her third time competing in the Paralympics, having taken home a silver medal in Tokyo in 2021 and another silver medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Elizabeth Marks
Elizabeth Marks, of Colorado Springs, competed in several swimming events, both individually and on a relay team.
- Silver: Women’s 100m Backstroke S6
- Silver: Women’s 200m Individual Medley SM6
- Silver: Women’s 50m Freestyle S6
- Silver: Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay (team)
- Silver: Mixed 4x50m Medley Relay
This was her third time in the Paralympic Games, having competed in Tokyo and Rio previously. She has won two gold, six silver and two bronze medals across the three games she has competed in.
Josh O’Neill
Josh O’Neill, of Colorado Springs, is a member of the Wheelchair Rugby team that took home the silver medal after a loss against Japan in the gold medal game.
This was his first Paralympic games.
Beatriz Hatz
Beatriz Hatz, of Lakewood, won the bronze medal for the Women’s Long Jump T64. She also competed in the Women’s 200m T64 event, where she came in fifth.
This was her second time competing in the Paralympics, having first competed in Tokyo in 2021.
