“These 30 Plus Broken Bones Will Mend”: Jeremy Renner Gives Medical Update
[ad_1]
Over 30 broken bones. That’s how badly Jeremy Renner was hurt, according to his most recent update. Not that he’s complaining. Indeed, he’s keeping it as positive as possible, thanking his family and fans.
The two-time-Oscar nominee updated his social media Saturday about his road to recovery following his serious accident that occurred on New Year’s Day. The 52-year-old performer was aiding a relative whose car was trapped following a snowstorm and was run over by a 7-ton plow, suffering “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”
Renner was lifted by medical chopper to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno from a private road near his home in Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, where he underwent multiple surgeries, but maintained a sense of humor as best he could, especially when his mother and sister came to wash his hair while he was stuck in bed.
The Hurt Locker and Hawkeye star is now, thankfully, back home, though still a long way from hitting his marks on a soundstage.
“Resolutions all changed this particular new years,” he wrote in an Instagram caption on Saturday beneath a photo of him doing an assisted leg workout from a home hospital bed near some light-infused large windows overlooking many green trees.
“Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love,” he continued. “I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens.”
He concluded with a “Love and blessings to you all.”
Among those who responded: Avengers teammate Chris Hemsworth, writing, “Your a champion mate! We love you,” Heidi Klum with a “Sending you love,” Gwen Stefani with a “Praying for u,” and Zoe Bell with a “Nice work Renner. Nice work.”
Chris Evans joked, “That’s one tough mf’er. Has anyone even checked on the snowcat???” while Marvel/DC director James Gunn added a heart emoji and Jason Momoa wrote, “all our aloha.” These are some good people to have in your corner.
