The warmest day before the big fall cool down
[ad_1]
A cold front moves through the region early next week, bringing the breezy conditions and the coolest temperature drop in over 6 months.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Today
That fall air is on the horizon but today will be one more day around 80 degrees before it starts feeling more like November instead of October. Highs will be in the low 80s Sunday afternoon which will be great for any activity outside like going to the Panthers game, but it will be about 10 degrees warmer sitting in the direct sun keep in mind. Winds will gradually pick up throughout Sunday evening and overnight with an approaching cold front that will bring some rain in the Mountains.
Next Week
Charlotte is trending dry for another week. It really isn’t until after next week that we have a better chance for even an isolated rain.
Monday: Monday will be the mildest day of the the work week with highs in the low to mid 70s. Winds will increase through the day and will be cold out of the northwest. These could gust up to 25 mph around Charlotte and over 40 mph in the High County. The cold front pushes through the region with a stray shower Monday night in the Mountains before shuffling in another round of cooler and drier air.
The cool down: Highs will drop into the 60s by Tuesday and will not get back into the 70s until next weekend. Lows will also start in the low 40s on Tuesday morning and will be in the upper 30s Wednesday and Thursday morning for the first time since early spring.
Tropical Update
There is no tropical threat to the United States or Carolinas over the next week. A tropical wave thousands of miles away, near the African coast, has a low chance (20%) of formation.
