The Power Of Feminine Collaboration – Londolozi Blog
[ad_1]
At the Londolozi Healing House, you will likely meet one of a team of 7 women. We live together at Londolozi and weave healing together in the Healing House.
This is not a spa, this is a place to come home to and find rest and reconnection. The women who work here are intentionally chosen by Shan and Bronwyn Varty.
All therapists are South African-born, unique individuals with gifted hands and hearts for healing. Recently we have had two new women join our circle, so I thought I’d reintroduce some old faces, and introduce some new ones too.
Tina began her journey with us last year. She is a beautiful, light, empathic, fun-loving being and is married to one of Londolozi’s skilled trackers, Mbongeni. Together they raise two sons Samkelo and Cebolihle. Tina has worked in surrounding luxury lodges and we feel very fortunate to have her join our team. She is naturally intuitive and gifted. Welcome, Tina.
Carina has recently joined us from Cape Town where she worked for many years in award-winning property, Delaire Graff, a Relais and Chateâux property in the Cape Winelands. She is a grandmother of six and mother of three who puts most youngsters to shame with her energetic zest for life. With an abundance of experience over two decades, she brings a wealth of knowledge as she has also been a trainer within the wellness industry. Her greatest passion is bodywork and love flows through her hands. Welcome, Carina.
Sam, our head therapist, has been with Londolozi for 7 years now and has a passion for reflexology and yoga. Sam met her husband Sean Zeederberg, blog editor and content creator, at Londolozi. She has since become a mother to Sebastian and Olivia, two delightful bush-born babies. Sam also has a strong passion for childhood development, taking a year away to complete a Montessori teaching diploma. The Zeederberg family was born out of the Londolozi family and has enriched our community with their love for adventure and nurturing presence.
Preicy, one of our senior therapists has been with the team for 5 years. Preicy encapsulates a grounding Mother Earth energy. She has previously worked in luxury lodges around the Sabi Sand and Timbavati Reserves. Her skills are in deep therapeutic bodywork. She has a magnificent smile and magic hands as well as a keen eye for spotting wildlife on the horizon. Her mere presence brings comfort and a sense of peace. Preicy lives in one of our neighboring communities where she raises two young sons Tumelo and Makungu.
I have had the privilege of being at the Healing House for 9 years now, having started in a literal season of drought in 2016. I now find myself in a season of lush abundance. The land has been without drought since the opening of the Healing House 7 years ago. I have been fortunate enough to have this echo in my personal life. Arriving single and now very much in love with Philip who works as the operations manager. We’ve been married 2 years and know this union would never have begun anywhere else in the world other than Londolozi. With 25 years of bodywork experience and a passion for the art of healing through the medium of touch, I left the luxury spa world in London and Cape Town disillusioned, never anticipating to return over 10 years ago. I now have the rare privilege of being the wellness coordinator of the healing collaboration that is Londolozi.
Our remote healers who periodically join the team throughout the year are Lulamela and Lisa – two uniquely gifted women.
Lulu, a powerful bodyworker travels the globe working with celebrity clients and private families having also been in the luxury lodge industry for many years. She embodies strength and dignity.
Lisa is a multi-disciplined wellness professional and healer, breath-work facilitator, movement and yoga teacher, she runs her own retreats in exotic locations throughout the world. Lisa weaves with a golden light and is a teacher to us, as well as a member of the team.
As a team, we form a circle of women who when working together, amplify each other’s healing practice. Much like the lioness, we are stronger when we share leadership and support each other’s strengths as well as weaknesses.
What does it mean to heal?
One explanation of the word healing comes from the old English term haelen, meaning wholeness and refers to the process of moving toward a desired wholeness or achievement of cohesion or to restore to sound health. This intention is the heart of the Healing House and those of us who steward the space.
