After years of social media campaigning from fans, yesterday brought the exciting news that E! Network is green lighting the long-awaited return of your favourite Real Housewives of New York City. Announcing ‘The Golden Life’, a 10-episode series, due to follow 5 of the OG’s this spring with plans for release later this year. While many details remain under wraps, the series will follow Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Countess Luann De Lesseps and Kelly Bensimon, and film in Palm Beach, Florida.
Following a reboot after Season 13 of Real Housewives of New York City, fans have remained underwhelmed with the new cast and calls to bring back the show’s original glory have long been made. After a successful return to our screens with Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy in 2023, fans were disappointed the successful series was not followed-up and have since called for this return. The new series marks the controversial return of Ramona Singer, but does bring into question the absence of Dorinda Medley, another fan favourite and recent star of 2 series of Celebrity Traitors USA.
Fans are optimistic that the move from Bravo, alongside the filming location of Florida, raises hopes of an appearance from the legendary Bethenny Frankel, however this seems unlikely after many years of the star campaigning against reality TV and it’s associated controversies.
