The Controversy Behind Waterparks: The Otto Wood Story

[ad_1]

If you’ve been around the pop-punk scene in the past decade, then you must know of the band Waterparks. And if you don’t know of them, well, now you do! The band has recently gained traction from a rumor of the drummer being a serial k*ller that is circulating all over TikTok… how did this all start? We’ll tell you!

*Editor’s Note: This is all in good fun, and Otto Wood is not a mu*derer. Please take this as satire and just a fun, silly little joke that has made it out of the fandom and into the general public.

The Back Story

It’s 2011 on a (we are assuming) hot, humid day, and three boys in Houston would form what we know today as the band, Waterparks. Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington, and Otto Wood make up the band and have built a massive community of fans all across the world. They’ve sold out tours, been on massive festival lineups, have opened for My Chemical Romance, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Now that we’ve introduced you to the band let’s get into this rumor that is running amok online…

Is Otto Danielle Wood A Serial K*ller Or Is This All A Plan For World Domination?

The lore of Otto Danielle Wood being a serial k*ller started several years back. Awsten made a joke in an interview about Otto being private and not being online and how it would be crazy if it came out that he’s actually a serial k*ller. If true, that particular clip would 100% be used as the opening scene in the Netflix special.

Fans (& Awsten) have run off with this lore and made merch, silly social posts, joked about it in meet and greets, and it is now all finally coming out to the general public through our favorite app, TikTok. The official lore is that he m*rdered 3 Texans back in 2012 and has used this time in the band to cover it up and make sure no one suspects him because he is so charismatic and kind. Now, where have we heard this story before…? 👀

The lore is also referenced in Waterparks’ song, ‘REAL SUPER DARK,’ from their latest album, Intellectual Property.

“I’ll call you, beep you later

If Otto doesn’t serial k*ll me (Otto, I’m sorry, stop)”

Fan “Stories” Making Their Way To TikTok

The fandom is now coming together to help make this go viral with videos of their ‘stories’ of meeting Otto and the fact that they are shocked this has come out about him even though he is so kind and so pretty.

We have met Otto Wood many times over the past decade and can confirm that he is very kind and very pretty. He also seems to have massive superhero strength, so lowkey… he could completely pull this off. We are shocked and bamboozled that our favorite band could have this kind of controversy behind them. /j

The fact that Otto Danielle Wood isn’t on social media and stays away from the internet at all costs because it is scary and is now becoming notorious as the pop-punk serial k*ller drummer is so silly. We can’t wait to see how far this goes and what happens when Otto eventually finds out! Let’s hope someone records his reaction.

What have you thought about this scandal that is coming out about Otto Danielle Wood, Waterparks drummer and serial k*ller? Do you have a story from a meet and greet or sound check party that you attended? Let us know in the comments or chat with us on Discord, Instagram, or Twitter.

*Editor’s Note (again): Reiterating that this is a joke. Otto Wood is not a serial k*ller and this article is all in good fun of explaining the lore. Please don’t take this seriously.
