Bring Your Own Book Club

Monday, July 1

6 p.m. The Market at 7th Street. Free.

Bring whatever you’re reading to this Charlotte Mecklenburg Library book club, which meets once a month at The Market at 7th Street. Put your nose in your book for a while, but don’t hesitate to chat with other readers, too.

Making Friends is Hard Game Night

6:30-9 p.m. Free.

Making Friends is Hard is a group “for both introverts and extroverts seeking to expand their social circle.” Join them for board-game nights at Free Range Brewing on Mondays, July 1, 15, and 29; or Hi-Wire Brewing on Thursdays, July 11 and 25.

New in Town Dinner Party

7 p.m. Good Food on Montford. $75

DishCourse founder Heather Siblik began hosting themed dinner parties for strangers after she moved to Charlotte from Wisconsin in 2018. This one, at Good Food on Montford, is for newcomers.

Sew Social’s Saturday Sewing

Saturday, July 13

10 a.m.-1 p.m. 2731 Gibbon Rd. $10

“It’s like book club but with sewing machines.” This monthly group meets at the Derita Design makerspace to share tips, tricks, patterns, materials, and more. July’s event is an “open sew,” so bring a project. Organizer Sophia Ege will offer sewing machine lessons. Registration required.

Greater Charlotte Ukulele Meetup

Sundays, July 7 & 21

3-5 p.m. Robinson Presbyterian Church. Free

A “growing, informal group of ukulele players” meets at Robinson Presbyterian Church on the first and third Sundays of each month for a uke jam. All experience levels welcome.

Mad Miles Run Club

This inclusive run club offers community runs three days a week: Mondays at 6:30 p.m. starting at Social Status; Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at You vs Yourself gym; and Saturdays at 10 a.m. at Elizabeth Park.
