A few showers and storms may roll into the Carolinas Tuesday night, but overall rain chances appear low over the next five days.
Mostly cloudy skies have kicked off this final weekend of April, but sunshine and summer-like warmth are just around the corner. Lows will end up on the cooler side over the next few nights in the 40s and 50s; this Saturday night will be no exception. Mostly sunny skies will keep us company Sunday afternoon as highs cruise near 80º. A stray shower or storm may pop up in the afternoon, but most will enjoy a dry and comfortable day.
The highs only crank up through the final few days of April. Expect afternoon temperatures to reach well into the 80s around the Metro on Monday and Tuesday. A few showers and storms may roll into the Carolinas late Tuesday into Wednesday as a rainmaking system approaches from the west, but the severe risk doesn’t look particularly high. The Piedmont will soar close to 90º on Wednesday and Thursday – the first two days of May – as hot sunshine bakes our area.
