TD Bank is expanding its corporate footprint in Charlotte.
The New Jersey-based bank signed a new 10-year lease with Northwood Office in Ballantyne, according to a Tuesday press release. Northwood Office is an arm of Northwood Investors, which owns the Ballantyne Corporate Park.
TD currently leases a space from Northwood in the Irby Building at 11325 N Community House Rd. The more than 18,500-square-foot space houses 111 employees.
Now, the bank is relocating down the road to the Harris Building at 13024 Ballantyne Corporate Place. TD will take up three floors at more than 91,000 square feet and an additional suite on the ground level.
The new space will offer wellness areas, lactation rooms and sit-stand workstations.
The space will house up to 540 employees. It’s unclear whether the bank will hire additional employees for the new space, but in recent years TD has expanded its employee base in the region, according to Chris Ward, the regional president of the mid-south metro and head of U.S. small business banking with TD.
“Charlotte continues to grow in population and top talent,” Ward said in the release. “We’re excited to continue deepening our relationships and ties within the area while welcoming new colleagues and talent to Charlotte.”
About TD Bank
TD expects to move into the new space next July.
The bank has five locations in Charlotte, and four of those are TD community-centered storefronts. Those types of branches offer financial literacy programs and resources to neighbors.
