Tax-free holidays back in Virginia, Maryland

MARYLAND, USA — It may be hard to believe, but the start of the school year is right around the corner. Soon there will be opportunities for you to save some money while doing that all-important back-to-school shopping. 

Here’s what you need to know about upcoming sales tax holidays in Virginia and Maryland. 

Virginia’s sales tax holiday lasts three days, from Aug. 2 to Aug. 4. 

During the sales tax holiday, you can buy qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ products without paying sales tax.
