WWE 2K26 roster revealed with massive legends list

WWE fans have a lot to look forward to as the official roster for WWE 2K26 has been revealed ahead of its March 13, 2026, launch. This year’s installment features a staggering collection of over 400 superstars from various eras of the business, marking the largest roster in the history of the series.

The game is set to feature CM Punk as the cover star, and he will also be the focal point of the 2K Showcase mode. This mode allows players to relive some of his most iconic matches, from his early days in 2008 to his more recent battles against rivals like Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins.

The 2K Showcase will also feature several “dream matches” held in a specialized CM Punk Pavilion arena. These matchups feature legendary names like Eddie Guerrero and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, offering players the chance to experience encounters that never happened in a real ring.

Players can also look forward to “The Island” mode, a non-linear story experience that centers on faction-based gameplay. This mode will allow for more multiplayer options, including Triple Threat and Fatal 4-Way matches, as well as the new “MyTAG” co-op feature.

As the release date approaches, players who pre-order the special editions of the game will receive early access starting on March 6, 2026. These editions include the “Monday Night War” and “Attitude Era” versions, which come with exclusive legends and attires.

Legendary wrestler Mick Foley on nostalgia and why ‘kindness is cool’

Whether he’s taking an elbow to the face in the ring or telling stories about his professional wrestling career on stage at a local comedy club, Mick Foley always wants to give his fans what they want.

There are thousands of anecdotes Foley could share about playing pro wrestlers like Cactus Jack, Mankind and Dude Love during his 40-year career, but he wants to make sure he mentions at least one core memory that fans are eager to hear. If he didn’t, it would be like going to a Rolling Stones concert and not hearing “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

For Foley fans, that memory is his brutal 1998 World Wrestling Entertainment Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. During the match, Foley, who was portraying the tortured antihero Mankind at the time, was tossed off and choke-slammed through a 16-foot-high steel cage.

“I’ll sometimes tell people up front that, yes, I will talk about the Hell in a Cell match,” Foley, 60, told the Orlando Weekly during a recent interview. “I don’t want to be the man who refuses to play his biggest hit. I don’t want to deprive them of that.”

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Foley — who moved to the Orlando area about a year ago to be closer to his family (three of his four kids also live in Orlando) — will bring his 40 Years of Foley show to the Funny Bone Comedy Club. The performance is a one-man storytelling show featuring Foley sharing humorous and insightful behind-the-scenes moments from his wrestling career.

Foley has been touring across the world as a storyteller since 2009. Over time, he’s grown more comfortable on stage and refined how he connects with audiences.

“I think with anything, you get better with practice,” Foley said. “The more reps you get in, the more natural it feels. And the more natural it feels, the better the show is. The stories are always evolving and changing. I can honestly say I never get bored of doing these shows. I really enjoy them, and I enjoy seeing the smiles and hearing the laughs.”

Many of the connections Foley has made since his days in the WWE and other wrestling organizations center on nostalgia. Along with shows like 40 Years of Foley, the former world champion keeps up with supporters on social media while also making personalized videos for fans on Cameo.

“I think nostalgia is a huge factor for fans,” Foley said. “Somewhere around 2010, I went from being washed up to being part of people’s childhoods. I’m the same guy. I’ve only gotten older, but I’m no longer old and irrelevant. I’m part of people’s collective memories.”

Adults who grew up watching Foley wrestle, however, aren’t the only fans who find him online. He’s been amazed at how many youngsters enjoy his content too. Some of the recent videos Foley has posted on Instagram include footage of him playing basketball dressed as Santa Claus and riding a tricycle across the floor of a comic convention.

“One of the things that’s surprised me most is that so many of my fans are children — kids who weren’t even born until 15 years after the Hell in a Cell match,” he said. “When I [officially] retired from wrestling [in 2000], the internet was kind of in its infancy. I just assumed that my fan base was going to continue to get older.”

Besides keeping his fans entertained on social media, Foley uses his platform to share his progressive-leaning political viewpoints and to criticize the current presidential administration.

In October, Foley posted a pragmatic video message on YouTube addressed to Donald Trump urging him to “stop the madness that is going on in our country.” Foley went on to give Trump credit for helping to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and to criticize him for “inciting tension [and] terror” with his ICE raids across the U.S.

Last month on Instagram, Foley wrote a message explaining why he had chosen to part ways with the WWE because of its ongoing support of Trump through his “administration’s ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants.” He also said reading Trump’s “incredibly cruel comments in the wake of Rob Reiner’s death” was the final straw.

“I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy,” Foley wrote.

While Foley chose not to answer questions about the reasons behind his recent breakup with the WWE, he did acknowledge that the nation is “at a divided time” and that speaking out against Trump has lost him some fans.

“People know that I’m not on board with a lot of things the current administration is doing,” he said. “I have fans who feel different, and still like and support me. And I have [fans] who dropped out of the fandom, which is obviously their right.”

He also said that 40 Years of Foley is not a political show. His goal onstage isn’t to divide audiences, but to bring them together.

“People know I’m outspoken,” he said. “But the closest I get to making a political statement in the show is saying that kindness is cool.”

Top WWE star returns to the ring after 6-month hiatus

Liv Morgan has officially stepped back between the ropes, making her long-awaited return to in-ring competition after being sidelined for over half a year. The Judgment Day member laced up her boots at a recent WWE live event in Tampa, Florida, marking her first match since suffering a significant shoulder injury in the summer of 2025.

Morgan faced off against former Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria in a singles contest. Despite the “ring rust” that often accompanies such a lengthy absence, Morgan showed little sign of slowing down. According to reports from the event, she secured the victory by pinning Valkyria following her signature finishing maneuver, the ObLivion.

The match was a significant milestone for the 31-year-old superstar, who had not competed since June 16. On that date, she sustained a shoulder injury during a bout against Kairi Sane, which forced her onto the injured reserve list and brought her momentum to a screeching halt.

Cooper DeJean Does WWE-Style Celebration Amid Nikki Garcia Dating Rumors

It looks like Nikki Garcia has been showing NFL star Cooper DeJean how to lay the smack down.

The Philadelphia Eagles cornerback, 22, performed a WWE-style celebration dance and even used Garcia’s ex-fiancé John Cena’s signature move, the Five-Knuckle Shuffle, on teammate Quinyon Mitchell in the run-up to their 29-18 victory over the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, on Saturday, December 20.

Cena’s iconic wrestling maneuver was enough for DeJean to put Mitchell, 24, down for the count in the end zone as their teammates counted to three.

Garcia, 42, dropped hints that she might be dating the NFL star earlier this week when she posed in front of his locker in a video montage of her recent trip to Philadelphia.

Two days later, Nikki opened up about her love life on SiriusXM’s The Nikki & Brie Show following her divorce from ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev in 2024. (Garcia and Chigvintsev share a son, Matteo, 5.)

“It’s crazy because I actually haven’t been touched or done anything in so long,” Nikki told sister Brie Garcia and their listeners on Thursday, December 18. “It’s funny when people call me a whore when I actually haven’t had intimacy in a really long time, even think of kissing.”

The WWE star went on, “I haven’t even kissed someone in so long. It’s, like, kind of crazy. I was thinking of this last night: ‘Do I know how to kiss?’ You know when it’s been so long? I mean, I hope [I still do]. I’m about to make out with my pillow to make sure I still got it.”

DeJean’s nod to Garcia’s ex-boyfriend Cena comes just one week after the 17-time WWE Champion retired at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Jimmy Fallon and Jelly Roll were among the stars to celebrate Cena’s career prior to his submission loss to WWE star Gunther in his retirement match.

Cena and Garcia were together for six years and even got engaged when he popped the question in the middle of the wrestling ring after their mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017. Garcia broke the news to Us Weekly in July 2018 that she and Cena were going their separate ways.

“After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get back to where it was in order to move forward with our wedding,” she told Us at the time. “After much time and soul-searching alone, and together, we have decided to officially part ways. I had a beautiful and loving six-year relationship with a wonderful man. I have the utmost respect for John, but I know this is what’s best for me.”

Garcia recently opened up about what it was like to see Cena for the first time in “seven, eight years” backstage at a WWE event as part of her former beau’s retirement tour.

“It was very quick,” she revealed on “Honestly Cavallari: The Podcast Tour” in June.

The WWE Hall of Fame inductee told sister Brie and Kristin Cavallari that she was “in a circle talking to people” backstage when Cena walked up to “[shake] everyone’s hand,” though there was “no hug.”

“We just said, ‘Hello, good to see you. I think last time we were engaged. I don’t know. It’s been a while,’” Nikki revealed with a chuckle.

Meanwhile, DeJean was most recently linked to Steph Wilfawn when she joined him on the field after the Eagles’ Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February.

D.C. hosted WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show at Capital One Arena on Saturday, featuring John Cena’s final match.

Cena took on Austrian pro wrestling star “The Ring General” Gunther and lost after a brutal 24-minute match.

WTOP’s José Umaña talked to fans about the results, with many traveling long distances to get to D.C. for the event.

“It really sucked that John Cena lost,” said Winston, who traveled from California for the match. “We lost a great legend today. It won’t be the same and there won’t be another John Cena.”

Antonio also came from California to see Cena one last time.

“I did not think I would ever see Cena tap out,” Antonio said.

After a career spanning over 20 years, he said it was hard to see it end like that.

“John Cena’s model was always ‘never give up,’” Antonio said.

But, he said, it was worth the trip across the U.S. for the event.

“I had to see the ‘GOAT,’ the greatest of all time, retire. It’s 100% worth it. Win or lose, it didn’t matter. He’s still the best,” he said.

Patrick said it was his first WWE match and he traveled from Florida for it.

“It was a great match,” Patrick said. “I kind of figured it was going to come to an end like that, but the rest of the other matches were pretty good.”

Earl B. Bryant told WTOP that the match showed those watching what the future holds.

“Tonight it didn’t go the way that the people wanted, but the ‘The Ring General’ did what was necessary by taking the energy out of this place and paving the way for the new,” Bryant said. “Gunther is the future of wrestling.”

Blake came from Nova Scotia in Canada said the matches the whole night were entertaining for fans.

“I really enjoyed the card, but just the ending could have been a lot better,” Blake said. “It was probably his idea to tap out, honestly. But, I mean, wonderful career. He’s the ‘GOAT’ for a reason,” he said.

WWE Survivor Series 2025 results for Nikki Bella vs Stephanie Vaquer

The WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 event featured two championship matches between the men’s and women’s WarGames matches. With John Cena in his second-to-last match before retirement from wrestling, he defended the Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio in the second match of the event.

After those two wowed the crowd, it was time for the women to have the spotlight. Stephanie Vaquer defended her WWE Women’s World Championship against her former friend, Nikki Bella, who betrayed her on “Monday Night Raw” several weeks ago.

While Vaquer has been amongst the top stars on the main roster this past year, including her championship win, Nikki returned as a WWE Hall of Famer and two-time Divas Champion. Some felt that it gave her strong credentials to provide Vaquer with a serious fight in Saturday night’s second-to-last match.

“This isn’t about your Women’s World Championship; this is about something bigger: your legacy, and you will respect it. Ad tonight, you think you’re gonna destroy me? No, I’m sorry, mamacita, I will embarrass you,” Nikki said in a pre-match interview.

While Nikki may have felt her legacy deserved more respect, she is quickly learning about the new generation of talent on WWE’s main roster. During Vaquer’s arrival to the ring, WWE noted that “La Primera” is the winningest women’s star on the roster this year.

Nikki put up decent offense and tried to reach into her bag of tricks, but it was to no avail. Late in the match, Vaquer connected on a Meteor double knee move to Nikki in the corner. However, Nikki yanked her leg off the corner, then hit a Rack Attack for a near pinfall. However, Vaquer wisely put a foot on the bottom rope to break the count.

Moments later, Stephanie landed a huge knee onto Nikki’s neck on the side apron before bringing her onto the announce table for a serious Devil’s Kiss. After exchanging some slaps in the ring, Vaquer gained the upper hand and hit another Devil’s Kiss on Nikki before going to the corner for a corkscrew splash to grab the pinfall win.

Nikki was previously unsuccessful in her attempt to dethrone Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash in Paris. However, it doesn’t seem the WWE Hall of Famer is stopping anytime soon when it comes to capturing another championship during her latest WWE run.

Becky Lynch’s rumored WWE feud receives grim update

WWE has been teasing an unexpected feud involving Becky Lynch, but it doesn’t appear the company will actually follow through. Fightful reports that despite several tense in-ring moments, a rivalry between Lynch and referee Jessika Carr hasn’t been discussed. Carr has professional wrestling experience outside of being an official, and the report noted that the opportunity is there if WWE chooses to use her as a wrestler.

Carr has secretly performed as a wrestler on WWE TV twice in 2025. She was known as Kalyx for two matches on “WWE Evolve.” She teamed with Haze Jameson to take on Aria Bennett and Layla Diggs in a losing effort. She then lost a singles match against Carlee Bright.

Becky Lynch’s Current WWE Rivalry

Lynch has found herself in a feud with AJ Lee dating back to September. Lee returned after Lynch slapped CM Punk multiple times. Lynch teamed with Seth Rollins to take on Punk and Lee in a tag team match at “Wrestlepalooza.” Punk and Lee ultimately won the match.

Lee made her first WWE appearance since that event during the Nov. 17 episode of “Monday Night Raw.” She cost Lynch the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Maxxine Dupri inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Lynch and Lee will be on opposite sides of the women’s WarGames match at “Survivor Series 2025” on Nov. 29. Lynch will team with Asuka and Kairi Sane of The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend. Lee will lead a team featuring Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss.

Former WWE champion makes shocking return at AEW Full Gear 2025

The surprising return of a former WWE titleholder closed out “AEW Full Gear 2025.” After Samoa Joe scored an upset win over “Hangman” Adam Page to win the AEW World Championship, Swerve Strickland returned after being on the shelf due to an injury. Strickland saved Page further punishment at the hands of The Opps and HOOK, who had turned heel to assist in Joe’s title win.

Strickland and Page once had a bitter rivalry on AEW TV. The two were finally able to make peace with their past actions, which led to Strickland helping Page defeat Jon Moxley to become the AEW World Champion at “All In: Texas.” He now appears to be joining Page in the fight against The Opps.

Strickland has emerged as a top main event player and an ex-world champion under the AEW banner. Prior to his AEW run, Strickland was known as Isaiah “Swerve” Scott during his time with WWE. At one point, Strickland captured the NXT North American Championship. He was called up to the main roster as a member of the Hit Row faction before the company released him in 2021.

The following year, AEW signed Strickland to a full-time deal. While many within the professional wrestling industry agreed that Strickland wasn’t used to his full potential in WWE, few expected the rise he’d have in AEW. As Strickland’s popularity grew, AEW made the decision to reward him with its top male prize. Strickland pinned Joe to become the AEW World Champion at “Dynasty 2024.”

Giants’ Cam Skattebo responds after criticisms for viral incident with WWE stars at ‘Monday Night Raw’

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo sent a social media post on Tuesday, seemingly addressing his recent controversy after engaging in a shoving match against WWE stars at Madison Square Garden for “Monday Night Raw.”

“Aye, honestly, if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on. I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy,” Skattebo wrote on X.

“Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.”

Skattebo was criticized for engaging in the Monday night spectacle while he is rehabbing from a season-ending ankle injury, and the Giants trudge through a 2-9 season.

The controversial incident began when Dominik Mysterio, one of the trio’s three stars, started jawing with actor and comedian Andrew Schulz. While talking to Schulz, Mysterio — the son of wrestling legend Rey Mysterio — mocked the New York native, saying he was staring at the only champion the city had seen in years.

Mysterio then looked at Skattebo after asking how many years it had been since a New York team won a title and said, “Can you count, Cam? How many years? He don’t know. He can’t count.”

That prompted Skattebo — who suffered his injury in a Week 8 road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles — to stand up and get in Mysterio’s face.

Then, JD McDonagh began jawing at Skattebo, shouting at the Giants players before turning to the rookie.

“You guys gonna play defense for the first time this season?” McDonagh shouted before looking at Skattebo. “What are you gonna do?”

Skattebo shoved McDonagh to the ground, sparking a skirmish between Schulz, Giants players and the wrestlers before security broke it up.

Among Skattebo’s Giants teammates in attendance was fellow rookie Abdul Carter, the team’s first-round pick, who was sporting a custom Giants WWE title belt on his left shoulder.

Skattebo finished his rookie season with 617 scrimmage yards (410 rushing, 207 receiving) and seven total touchdowns across eight games.
