It’s Time to Update My Boot Collection, and I’m Eyeing These 30 Pairs for Winter

    [ad_1]

It is officially boot season. I have hidden my sandals and heels and made room for my growing boot collection. When I first moved to New York City from Los Angeles, my boot collection needed some serious help. That was years ago, and now I have done a few fall/winter seasons in the city, and thankfully my boot game has definitely gotten better. I love knee-high boots, Chelsea boots, Western boots, ankle boots, and suede boots. I mean, when you’re planning the perfect cold-weather outfit, the boots are really what makes the look. While shopping for a new addition to my collection, I found 30 pairs that are way too good to pass up. Unfortunately, my New York apartment wouldn’t even be able to hold all 30 of these chic new boots, but that won’t stop me from sharing.

Keep scrolling to see which boots I’m dreaming about for winter.

9 Expensive-Looking Winter Outfits to Wear With Jeans

    [ad_1]

I honestly don’t know what we’d all wear in the winter if denim ceased to exist. It’s simply essential and is the perfect match for all of those winter-friendly items like coats, sweaters, and boots. It’s also universally loved, so there’s a steady stream of examples of stylish women wearing incredible winter outfits with jeans.

Even though jeans are the most basic of basics and can be very affordable, they needn’t actually look cheap. I scoured street style from the past year in search of the winter jeans outfits that look ultra-expensive, thanks to a smart styling trick here and there. What does or doesn’t make an outfit look expensive isn’t a scientifically proven fact, but I have a well-trained eye for these sorts of things, so keep scrolling to learn nine tricks of the trade and shop the looks.

  • 8 Non-Aging Style Tricks I Follow in the Winter

8 Non-Aging Style Tricks I Follow in the Winter

    [ad_1]

As a 34-year-old, I’d be lying if I said that dressing to look a bit more youthful wasn’t something I thought about often… especially in the winter. The bulky layers and dark colors that are so prevalent this time of year tend to be quite aging. When I lived in Los Angeles (from 2009 to 2015), I didn’t have to think much about this subject, but now that I’m a bit older and I live in North Carolina, where it’s surprisingly freezing, I’ve had to develop a skill set to keep my winter wardrobe from inadvertently aging me. The good news is that these “tricks” are subtle. Some are as simple as avoiding certain colors near my face, and others are as easy as switching up my shoe selection. Keep scrolling to check out my tricks and to shop pieces I rely on in the winter for their non-aging powers.

  • EmRata Wore Sweatpants and Trendy Sneakers to Celebrate Pete Davidson’s Birthday

EmRata Wore Sweatpants and Trendy Sneakers to Celebrate Pete Davidson’s Birthday

    [ad_1]

In the most inevitable news of the week (just watch this), it seems that Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski might be dating, and we now basically have proof. Yesterday was Davidson’s 29th birthday, and last night, photographers captured him in front of EmRata’s apartment building to pick her up in a Mini Cooper. (Given the paparazzi situation, she ended up taking an Uber to meet him. Just setting the stage here.)

I’m sure both Davidson and Ratajkowski would’ve preferred the paparazzi not to be there waiting for them, but it did allow us a glimpse of her chill outfit for the possible date. It consisted of low-rise sweatpants, a crop top, a black cropped puffer, and trendy Asics Gel-Kayano 14 Sneakers. It was a very “hanging out with Pete Davidson on his birthday in Brooklyn” look if you ask me. Scroll to see it for yourself and shop the pieces needed to re-create it.

As far as classic winter coats go, the peacoat reigns supreme. The double-breasted winter staple has stood the test of time and become a highly coveted item for celebrities such as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. It has that certain je ne sais quoi that can make even the most casual outfit look prim and polished.

Over the years, adaptation to the iconic sailor style has included longer cuts, texturized bouclé, fur collars, and bold colors. There are many great options, yet choosing one in the clutter of thousands can be tricky. Ahead, I break down the peacoats that are a step above basic at every price point.

From under-$150 affordable options to super-luxe tailored styles, there’s a coat to fit every aesthetic in the roundup below.

  • I’ve Lived in NYC for 17 Years, and This Is the Winter Capsule I Swear By

I’ve Lived in NYC for 17 Years, and This Is the Winter Capsule I Swear By

    [ad_1]

Dressing for winter and pulling it off in a stylish way can sometimes be a tall order. While a leather jacket and a few light layers are all that’s ever really needed to get by in the South and West, here on the East Coast, though, it’s another story. Enter Shalini Acharya, an influencer and veteran New Yorker. We routinely turn to this fashion creative for top-notch outfit ideas because of her directional and elevated approach to style. And while everyone has a different method for bundling up in the winter, the 17 years (and counting) that she’s spent living in NYC have helped her develop a well-rounded and well-edited lineup of winter staples. To that point, her capsule wardrobe, in particular, is consistently worth noting.

As a minimalist, Acharya never wants to buy too many pieces, but after a little trial and error, she’s landed on a winter capsule wardrobe that allows her to stay both warm and stylish with a few key essentials. First, the turtleneck top became the ultimate layering piece. When worn with jeans or under a dress, it lends a sophisticated spin to any look. Next, a heavier sweater was perfect for colder days. Not one to give up dresses, she learned to love longer hemlines and taller boots to meet them. Another winter must? Knee-high boots, which are essential for pairing with long dresses and navigating snowy sidewalks. And finally, classic wool coats are the ultimate topper for both banishing the cold and looking stylish. Go on to shop the 16 pieces from her winter capsule wardrobe, and check out a few outfit combinations along the way.
