Honestly, This Makeup Product Seems Too Good to Be True, But It’s the Real Deal

I’ve heard and used BB creams before. In fact, I wrote about my beloved Clinique BB cream a few months ago. I vaguely knew about CC creams, but since I was pretty happy with my BB, I didn’t really think about giving it a try. But now I’m intrigued!

If you’re new to CC creams like I am, they help you get that minimal, effortless look like BB creams, but they offer a little bit more coverage. BB creams are short for “beauty balm” or “blemish balm,” and they nourish the skin while giving lighter coverage than a regular foundation.

CC creams, on the other hand, are known as “color-correcting creams” or “complexion-corrector creams.” They can help even your skin tone and mask dark spots and redness. CC creams are a bit thicker than BB creams, but many also contain beneficial skincare ingredients such as sunscreen.

But don’t worry. This isn’t Invasion of the Body Snatchers—Kim and Khloé didn’t switch places for the night. Instead, Kim’s pointy manicure was actually made up of custom-painted press-on nails, which she was able to take off shortly after her appearance.

With a baby-pink base and angular white tip, these nails matched Kim’s entire Barbiecore vibe flawlessly. Kim wore head-to-toe hot-pink Balenciaga, complete with a mini croc bag and rose-toned jewelry. Her makeup was kept neutral, and her hair was out of her face. For this glam, the nails really stole the show.

  • If You Want Longer, Thicker Strands, Your Hair Growth Serum Needs This

If You Want Longer, Thicker Strands, Your Hair Growth Serum Needs This

    [ad_1]

With that distinction, Hill also wants to highlight the benefits of using a hair loss prevention serum and how strands become thinner in the first place. “What is being experienced with ‘hair growth’ serums is the reawakening of the hair follicle,” says Hill. “It creates a healthier scalp microbiome, which increases the numbers of hair fibers that each follicle produces. To clarify, each hair follicle can produce multiple hair fibers and most people can have two to five hair fibers per hair follicle. (This is genetically predetermined.) As the follicle is compromised, the follicle produces fewer hair fibers, which results in ‘hair loss’ and thinning. The benefit and goal of these serums is to address miniaturization in its infancy stages for the best results.”

Even if hair loss isn’t a concern for you and you simply would love a serum to help promote long, luscious locks in some way, you can still look for hair strengthening serums containing ingredients that help keep breakage at bay. Hill recommends looking for hair products containing ingredients like saw palmetto, caffeine, licorice extract, pfaffia extract, ergothioneine, ginseng root, and burdock root. These will help nourish your hair at the root so strands have the opportunity to grow longer than ever before. Keep scrolling below for a few options recommended by Hill and other user favorites.

It’s official—Nordstrom’s holiday deals are happening, and while you might be busy combing through the best fashion finds, we encourage you to take a beat and check out the beauty section too. • These (Low-Effort) Hairstyles Are the Only Ones That Will Matter This Winter

These (Low-Effort) Hairstyles Are the Only Ones That Will Matter This Winter

    [ad_1]

Listen, I love intricate party hairstyles just as much as the next person. Perfectly imperfect up-dos? Sure. Red carpet–ready curls? Definitely. Sometimes, though, I’d rather take the path of least resistance. And by sometimes, I mean most winter days. It’s cold and blustery outside, and for me, the ideal hairstyle is one that won’t take too much time or cause too much fuss to fix when the wind whips it out of place. Low effort is the name of the game.

Now, that’s all well and good, but easy-to-achieve hairstyle inspo can be hard to come by—especially when you’re looking to celebs to provide you with it. After all, most of them have insanely talented stylists on speed dial. Still, they’re out there, if you only look hard enough (I know because I found them). Keep scrolling to see the only five winter hairstyles that matter this season, according to celebs like Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber, Zendaya, and more.

I’ve Been Collecting Bags for 33 Years—These Are the 7 I’d Buy Again and Again

    [ad_1]

Before the world that revolves around Instagram and TikTok influencers existed, there was the fashion blog. One of the first blogs to make it big was BagSnob.com. Tina Chen Craig’s love for finding the next best designer handbag led to the site’s creation and the lifestyle brand that followed right behind it. This journey began for her in 2005 and led to her being a forever-loved cultural icon in the fashion world.

The holiday season is the perfect time for big investments. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or a loved one, this is truly the time of year that the designer bags are flying off the shelves. It would be a dream come true for me to treat myself to something special this year, so while I’m surveying my options, I decided to call in for help. Since Craig’s bag collection is so incredibly robust, I decided to ask her which designer bags are actually worth buying.

Taylor Swift Just Wore Her Most Jaw-Dropping “Naked” Dress to Date

    [ad_1]

Taylor Swift attended the Europe Music Awards in Germany over the weekend, and wow, she did not phone it in with her outfit for the occasion. Swift walked the red carpet and accepted multiple awards in the 2022 version of the naked dress trend: netted, crystal-embellished dresses. The trend was very recently worn by Emily Ratajkowski and Olivia Wilde, and Swift is just the latest in a string of high-profile celebrities to embrace the pretty, daring trend.

Swift’s dress was a custom David Koma creation, and featured a corset-bodysuit-esque bodice with a netted emerald skirt, and we’re pretty sure everyone’s jaws were dropped. You may recall that Swift also wore a crystal mini dress to the American VMAs a few months ago, which could also be considered a 2022-era “naked” dress. It just goes to show that she’s into the trend, just as many other celebs are.

My Birthday Is My Favorite Occasion to Shop for—29 Epic Finds in My Cart

Growing up, I used to lament my late-November birthday because it coincided with Thanksgiving break, and therefore, the attention could never fully be on me. (What can I say? My Leo moon tends to jump out around my birthday.) As I get older, though, I’ve actually come to love the timing, and now I use the occasion as an opportunity to kick off the holiday party season.

Style-wise, I think of my birthday as a way to test-drive some of the season’s festive trends before the holidays actually hit. So now that it’s almost time for me to celebrate another year around the sun, I couldn’t be any more excited to shop for my outfit to ring in the big day.

  • Rihanna Just Wore Arguably the Most Controversial Skirt Style Of All

Rihanna Just Wore Arguably the Most Controversial Skirt Style Of All

    [ad_1]

Given how popular trends like naked dresses, visible thongs, and going, wellpantsless are these days, it’s growing more and more difficult to generate controversy when it comes to fashion. And yet, Rihanna just did exactly that by wearing the one trend I personally never thought would make a genuine comeback: High-low hemlines. Leave it to the Fenty founder, though, to make the throwback silhouette feel modern, and even more shocking, cool.

Out to celebrate A$AP Rocky’s whisky brand Mercer & Prince at The Fleur Room in Los Angeles, Rihanna paired a gloved, velvet bodysuit by Melitta Baumeister with a faux leather Rick Owens skirt fit with a high-low hemline and a train. With the daring duo, she added a Tom Ford for Gucci handbag, a Celine hoodie, and strappy heels that laced halfway up her legs. A far cry from the jewel-toned high-low dresses we wore to practically every high school dance in the early-2010s (or was that just me?), the look is singlehandedly paving the way for a comeback of the cut.

Even so, welcoming high-low hemlines back into our wardrobes after all this time won’t be easy. To ease back into the style, shop the more approachable asymmetric skirts below.

The Most Jaw-Dropping Baby2Baby Red Carpet Looks, Period

    [ad_1]

Though it’s rarely discussed on the same scale as other red-carpet events, the annual Baby2Baby Gala consistently supplies us with top-tier looks. And this year’s was no different. Held in West Hollywood on Saturday night, the 2022 Baby2Baby Gala brought together some of L.A.’s best-dressed moms (and more), from Olivia Wilde to Kylie Jenner, to help bring in necessary funds for the organization’s work, which involves providing children living in poverty with diapers, clothing, and other essentials. Altogether, an incredible $10 million was raised.

Given that this year’s honoree was Kim Kardashian, there was no way the night wouldn’t be full of fashion moments. To receive her Giving Tree Award and announce a $1 million donation to Baby2Baby, the SKIMS founder chose a Barbie pink, fitted Balenciaga dress with a long train (her specialty recently) from the brand’s spring/summer 2023 collection, pairing it with a matching mini bag from the brand as well as blade-like heels. Of course, she wasn’t the only one who didn’t come to play stylistically at the event. Keep scrolling to check out all of the best looks from this weekend’s gala.

  • This Controversial Wedding Trend Is Becoming a Thing

This Controversial Wedding Trend Is Becoming a Thing

    [ad_1]

You’d think after being in three weddings in the last year that my dress-planning energy and bank account would sweat at the thought of purchasing another dress for a wedding weekend, but here I am with this trend I accidentally started: wedding-party second looks. Hear me out on why I’m so for the idea of this. Weddings are one of the few times you get to see all your favorite people in one place, and if you’ve been selected to be a part of the wedding party (which is such an honor), that means you’ll be in the same or similar dress as other girls in the party.

For this reason, I suggested a bridal-party “second look” to one of my friends. I’ll admit I was somewhat joking when I suggested it, but when my friend was so into it, I thought we should make it an official thing. My friend and the bride-to-be said if bridesmaids want to change, she’s totally down and wants everyone to enjoy the night and feel comfortable in whatever they are wearing. By no means is this a required thing, but it’s simply an option for those who’d like to change mid-reception after the bride puts on her second look. When I was casually chatting about this at the office, the topic turned quite controversial, as the team was torn 50/50 for and against the idea.

It’s Officially Over for These Shoe Trends

    [ad_1]

Trends come and go at the speed of light. One day, everyone’s wearing their “dad” sneakers, and the next, it’s all about ’80s throwback pairs (or so it seems). With new shoe styles emerging all the time, it can be hard to keep up. But for anyone curious to check in with their current shoe collection, we’re sharing the status on the trends we can safely pause buying and which have taken their place.

Naturally, as editors, we jump at the chance to share the best styles with you whenever a new trend bubbles up. If there’s a new shoe trend, you can be sure that we’ll be all over it, from the new It brands all the fashion girls are wearing to the pieces we’ve told you will sell out first next month. That said, the following styles are those we’ve simply noticed have been losing steam lately.

If you’re curious to find out which are the best shoe styles, according to our editors, and which styles are slowing down, keep reading. As always, though, I recommend holding onto pieces that you love because if they fit into your personal wardrobe you shouldn’t stop wearing them just because of the trend cycles.

Anne Hathaway’s Airport Outfit Includes the Pants Every Frequent Flyer Avoids

    [ad_1]

By now, everybody knows that jeans—especially rigid, non-stretch ones—are best kept in your carry-on when traveling as opposed to on your person. After all, sitting in tight jeans can be difficult enough without adding in a long plane ride. And yet, that didn’t stop Anne Hathaway from hopping on a flight to LAX last week in perhaps the stiffest possible style: cargo jeans.

For her trip back to Los Angeles, the Devil Wears Prada star (with the help of her stylist, Erin Walsh) paired a super-light-wash pair of cargo jeans from Isabel Marant with a lightweight pink sweater, a red blazer, and a patterned, silk scarf tied around her neck. With it, she added even more accessories that TSA no doubt made her take off, including black Bulgari sunglasses, a Gucci’s Attaché crossbody bag, and most impractical of all for a security line, a pair of white, knee-high boots.

Though ultimately a bit illogical for air travel, there’s no denying that Hathaway’s airport look was an even 10, no deductions. Shop it and more rigid jeans below.

  • I’m Placing Bets That This ’90s Accessory Trend Will Be Big This Fall

I’m Placing Bets That This ’90s Accessory Trend Will Be Big This Fall

    [ad_1]

    Photo:

Courtesy of Loewe; Courtesy of Versace; Courtesy of Fendi

Every fall marks the return of beloved staples (like knee-high boots, sweater dresses, or leather jackets), but it also brings in the possibility of adopting something “new.” Of course, when it comes to trends, there’s nothing that’s ever entirely original—inspiration is constantly drawn from the past. As runway collections have tapped nostalgia more and more, we’ve witnessed formerly “dated” trends be transformed into something that feels brand new.

Nothing shows that more than the return of furry accessories. Fur accessories have always waned in and out of style as humans have worn them for centuries. However, they first gained notoriety in the fashion world in the 1960s, thanks to designers like Karl Lagerfield coining the term “fun fur” when working at Fendi. But the ’90s marked an even more significant shift in the popularity of fur, as fabric production innovations allowed for the creation of faux fur, making the fabric more animal-friendly and affordable. The result was the creation of a slew of furry accessories that managed to define the decade and continue to do so to this day.

We can see furry accessories continued presence in the fashion zeitgeist, most recently in fall/winter 2022 collections. From Kim Jones at Fendi to Donatella at Versace, we saw no shortage of designers taking this ’90s-inspired accessory and reenvisioning it in a way that could make even the most forward-thinking fashionphiles feel a flicker of nostalgia.

So, without further ado, here are the three ways this trend reemerged on the runway, along with the best furry accessories to shop for right now.

I’ve Been a Wardrobe Stylist for 10 Years—This Is My 6-Piece French Capsule

    [ad_1]

The French-girl wardrobe is fascinating for a number of reasons: it’s simple, timeless, and effortless. And the quest for the right pieces to achieve it can easily become a lifelong endeavor. We could spend all day figuring out how to emulate the key elements that make French style so good, and if you’re a consistent Who What Wear reader, you know that we do spend a considerable amount of time on the topic.

We’re hardly the only sartorial Francophiles, either. We chatted with an NYC-based wardrobe stylist who is so enamored with the simplicity of French style that she went out and designed her very own French-inspired capsule wardrobe. Meet Bryn Taylor, a stylist of 10 years who recently launched Ouisa, a well-edited assortment of just six pieces that make up what she deems to be the perfect capsule wardrobe.

“While I love fashion and understand the power of clothing to change people’s mindsets,” Taylor shared with us, “I noticed that my clients often expressed frustration over the paralysis of choice within their wardrobes and shopping for clothes in general. They wanted to create an easy, cool, signature style but lacked the confidence and tools to do so. I would always advocate for a smaller, more thoughtful wardrobe consisting of pieces they could depend on in any situation, and seamlessly mix and match. Essentially, a capsule collection. I kept noticing that the foundational pieces my clients’ closets were missing were the same tried and true essentials I depended on in my own wardrobe.”

Anna Wintour’s Airport Outfit Includes the Shoe Trend I’d Never Travel In

    [ad_1]

Anna Wintour is nothing if not consistent. Of course, you already know that she’s worn the same sunglasses and bob haircut for as long as she’s been EIC of Vogue—which is to say, a very long time. She also never wavers from her signature outfit formula: a printed midi or maxi dress with knee-high heeled boots. And as it turns out, this is true even when she’s traveling through JFK Airport in New York.

I’ve never worn heeled knee-high boots while traveling because I can imagine that taking them on and off at security would be quite a hassle—would the chic yet cumbersome shoes even fit properly in a bin? And you certainly won’t catch me wearing heels of any sort while traveling, as schlepping through airports is already an exhausting experience that would only be made worse by wearing anything remotely uncomfortable. Anna Wintour definitely looks just as chic as ever, but I personally would think twice before wearing her shoes at the airport. Scroll down to see her airport outfit and shop for more comfortable boot alternatives.
