All Of These 15 J.Crew Dresses Are Up to 50% Off Right Now—You Know What to Do

    [ad_1]

There’s arguably no wardrobe item more versatile, compliment-prone, and easy than a dress, especially in the summer, when all you need to add is a pair of sandals, some earrings, and a stellar handbag to create an outfit worth talking about. Luckily, finding ones that check off all of the above boxes will never be less difficult than it is right now. And for that, you (and I) have J.Crew to thank.

Until June 8th, fashion’s favorite retailer in 2023 is running a can’t-miss sale on all things “dressed up,” which, in addition to classic button-downs and skirts, includes a bevy of gorgeous dresses that I believe warrants all of your Friday-afternoon attention. Slips, cotton sundresses, A-line frocks, and more—all of the styles that go best with summer weather are up to 50% off as we speak. So, before you kick off the weekend, shop 15 of the best dress options included in the sale that I’ve conveniently rounded up in an easy-to-shop list below.

    [ad_1]

I’m not normally one to condone random purchases that don’t warrant much forethought, but during sale season, you don’t really have much of a choice. Trust me—I spent 99% of the recent holiday weekend scouring every sale on the internet, and on multiple occasions, items I had in my cart disappeared minutes after they were added when someone else pressed purchase before I gathered the courage to do so myself. There’s no room for hesitation in times like these. It’s all about action.

I’ve never learned this lesson as intensely as I have at Nordstrom, where I’ve been missing out on unforgettable sale items during the company’s Half-Yearly Sale for almost two decades. Never again will I make that mistake, and neither should you. With that said, when I tell you that the 27 Nordstrom sale finds below should be purchased immediately, I’m not saying so lightly. So if you trust me at all, you’ll get scrolling. Hesitation will only lead to regret.

These Brand-New Nordstrom Items Already Have 5 Stars—Go Wild

    [ad_1]

I am all too familiar with Nordstrom’s new-arrivals section. It’s a place of refuge that I often turn to when I’m in need of some fashion inspiration to liven up my closet situation. You can spend hours scrolling through the seemingly endless pages of all things new. The most impressive thing, though, is how many brand-new items have already achieved a coveted five-star rating. Usually, that caliber of success takes time to build, but not for these items.

I’ve never been one to leave reviews, so the fact that people take time out of their days to rave about these finds gives them a lot of merit in my eyes. There’s a ton of range in the styles that just hit the site, like top-rated summer wedding-guest dresses and designer heels to Bermuda shorts and casual denim. Below, shop 32 Nordstrom items with a 5-star rating. Perhaps you’ll feel inclined to leave a review of your own when you find one that’s worth the hype.

It Takes a Lot to Impress Me, But These J.Crew and Nordstrom Items Blew My Mind

I’ll be the first person to admit that I tend to err on the picky side. Looking back, I’ve always been this way. And while I’ve grown out of it when it comes to most things, my high standards around all things fashion related has never, ever faltered. Luckily, in my line of work, that’s a plus rather than a demotion, because my tendency to get choosy is exactly what allows me to narrow down the literal millions of garments, shoes, handbags, jewelry items, and more that are currently being offered up on the open market, to just the ones you really need to see

This week, I did exactly that, though instead of sourcing from every which retailer under the sun, I decided to zero in on the two with the best selection so far this summer: Nordstrom and J.Crew. But just blindly take my word for it. Ahead, see me prove my point with the help of 29 linen tops, ballet flats, maxi skirts, wide-leg jeans, sundresses, and more that genuinely blew my mind when I scrolled past them.

If sale shopping wasn’t one of the many things that give me new life, I’d probably hate it. As thrilling as securing a stellar deal can be, the process it takes to get there is hardly for the faint of heart, especially during a major holiday weekend like this one, when practically every brand and retailer is running some sort of sale. Fortunately for all of you who err more on the side of hate than love, the bigger the sale event, the more I thrive off of it, which is why I went ahead and dug through the very best of them so you wouldn’t have to.

Moda Operandi, Nordstrom, Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, and J.Crew are just a few of the epic Memorial Day Weekend sales that are currently underway. And after putting in a few too many hours of scrolling and editing, I managed to narrow down my favorites from all of the above to just 33 pieces. That is, the *best* 33 pieces on sale right now. To rate my selection for yourself, keep scrolling. I’d get your wallets ready, though, because these aren’t deals you’ll be able to resist.

If You Hate Trends, You’ll Love These Timeless Shoe Styles From Nordstrom

    [ad_1]

Yes, trends are very fun to look at and partake in, but you also have to know which ones work for you. After all, whatever you decide to buy should be something that you can wear repeatedly and will last in your closet for more than just a few fleeting months. I’m one of those people who always starts with shoes when it comes to investing in more timeless wardrobe items, focusing on styles you can throw on at a moment’s notice but still look pulled together. In my mind, a less trend-driven footwear game means I’ll have so many more ways to wear my shoes.

When looking for shoes that largely avoid the current trend cycle, think of basic heels that still look luxe, sneaker styles that have stood the test of time, buttery-soft leather boots, and flats that act as an effortless final touch to any outfit. Below, I rounded up all of those and more anti-trend shoes from Nordstrom, so you can shop to your heart’s content without sacrificing versatility. Step to it!

    J.Crew Isn’t Messing Around With These 40%-Off Quiet-Luxury Finds

    [ad_1]

Unless you have a fair chunk of change saved up and dedicated to shopping, attempting to master the much-discussed “quiet-luxury” trend can feel intimidating to say the least. After all, the brands most often name-dropped in conversations surrounding the trend range from The Row to Loro Piana, neither of which come cheap. What you need to realize, though, is that the answer to all your hopes, wishes, and prayers is right in front of you. Or rather, a short drive away at your local neighborhood J.Crew.  And if those prices are still a bit outside of your price range, don’t fret, because as we speak, the brand is hosting a sale of truly epic proportions

From now until Thursday night, J.Crew’s offering 40-50% off a seemingly never-ending array of low-key, classic, and above all, utterly lavish pieces, from loafers and poplin button-down shirts to white trousers and slip dresses. All you need to do in order to access said marked-down prices is enter the code WEEKEND at checkout and watch your basket amount wither away before your very eyes. To help get your quiet-luxury style journey underway, I went ahead and rounded up 27 pieces from J.Crew’s sale that match the aesthetic to a T. One doesn’t set their sights on becoming a fashion editor at the age of 12 if they don’t like trends. In fact, being hyper aware of them was most likely listed on my job description. So, it goes without saying that fads of all levels of viral status and critical acclaim hold a special place in my heart. But don’t let that fool you. My wardrobe isn’t some kind of time capsule for all of the trends that have come and gone in my 27 years. Rather, I’m really quite the classic dresser, a fact that anyone who’s seen me shop at Nordstrom knows all too well.

I’ve been shopping there for the better part of two decades, and despite my general affinity for of-the-moment finds, the pieces I always tend to grab for while I’m there are the ones that err more on the side of timeless than buzzy—the ones that I know I can wear again and again for all kinds of occasions and in countless different ways. My latest deep dive was hardly any different, with my Nordstrom shopping cart currently filled to the brim with too-good-to-gate-keep staples that I love far more than any of the trendy pieces I spotted along the way. Keep scrolling to see (and shop) them all.

    I Haven’t Done a Nordstrom Deep Dive in Forever—41 Items I Can’t Believe I Found

    [ad_1]

With spring’s arrival close enough to touch in NYC, I’ve been more than a little bit distracted. It happens every year at this exact time. The days are longer—the weather less blustery—and therefore, I find myself being unable to think about anything else but taking in all the vitamin D that I’ve been denied all winter long. But there are a few things that are even more important, at least for a fashion person such as myself, one of which is Nordstrom, a store I usually inspect on a near-constant basis, but have recently been snubbing due to the nature of my one track mind ahead of the beginning of spring. I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve been slacking. This story is my way of making up for that.

For the past six or so hours, I’ve been scrolling through Nordstrom.com with the ferocity and determination of an internet conspiracy theorist (queue up the Charlie meme from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). The result? A list of finds I’m still, quite honestly, in shock over. From elevated basics to envy-inducing footwear, there’s a bit of everything in the 41-piece offering below, all of which won’t be leaving my conscious brain anytime soon. Scroll down to shop every last one.

Don’t Sleep on These 32 New Zara and Nordstrom Finds—Avoid the Regret

    [ad_1]

I’ve done my fair share of shopping, but there’s something about Zara and Nordstrom that always keeps me coming back for more. Whether it’s the early introduction to Nordstrom in my early years or the memorable shopping experiences at Zara during high school, these retailers have a strong hold on me. Now, as I spend countless hours online shopping for work, it’s no surprise that a significant portion of that time is dedicated to browsing their new selections.

During my latest browsing session of Zara and Nordstrom’s spring offerings, I couldn’t help but notice something remarkable. In all my years of shopping at these stores, I’ve never seen them both have such an incredible selection at the same time. Usually, their greatness comes in waves, with Nordstrom shining one month and Zara stealing the spotlight the next. However, as spring approaches, it appears that their buyers and designers have synchronized their efforts, resulting in some of the best spring pieces I’ve seen all year. Keep scrolling to see for yourself and discover 32 Nordstrom and Zara finds that you simply can’t miss.

Nordstrom Just Sneakily Added a Ton of New Mango Items—24 I’m Freaking Out About

    [ad_1]

If you’re anything like me, convenience plays a huge role in your shopping habits. Sure, every brand has their own website, and yet, I’m far more likely to actually follow through on a purchase when it’s from a retailer where I can also buy everything else I need (or want), from my daily tinted sunscreen to the lingerie I can’t quit. Such is why Nordstrom is the store I shop at most, both in person and online. Simply put, the retailer has everything.

Because of this, I got a little bit too excited when I noticed all of the new items from Mango that Nordstrom just released on its website. In the new selection are plenty of items I’ve seen and considered buying directly from Mango, but have thus far not added to my wardrobe. Now that they’re available in the same place as the Skims tees and Khaite sunglasses I’ve been eyeing for the last week, the chances of me actually buying them have skyrocketed. With that, scroll down to see which new Mango items will likely be arriving on my doorstep in a Nordstrom box next week.

It’s Giving Dated—7 Spring Trends I’m Pressing Pause On (and 7 I’m Not)

    [ad_1]

I try to hold onto things just as long as the next person, knowing all too well that the trend cycle has dramatically shortened due to the combined impacts of social media and fast fashion, allowing trends to come back in vogue far quicker than they once would have. The smart thing would be to store everything rather than get rid of anything. And yet, my complete lack of storage in New York City begs to differ. I just moved and am in desperate need of additional space, leading me to only one possible action item: spring cleaning.

Over the last week, I’ve had to take a long, hard look at my wardrobe in order to decide what trends for the season ahead just don’t do it for me anymore and which ones still deserve a spot in the closet (i.e., the large, metal rack I now hang my clothes on). And after examining the spring/summer 2023 runways for the umpteenth time and hours of sorting, I finally settled on 7 spring trends that, to me, have lost their spark. Scroll down to discover each one, as well as the warm-weather trends I’m prioritizing instead.

I Spent 2 Hours Trying On Dresses at Zara, and These 6 Left Me Speechless

    [ad_1]

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that whenever I’m anywhere near a Zara location, I’m going to walk in and try on at least a dozen items. I’ve been this way since a Zara store opened in my local mall, and I’ll probably always be this way. Call it a guilty pleasure. So, when I walked by the Bryant Park location last night after work, I naturally had to pop inside and see what was new. And it’s a good thing I did because in all my years of shopping at Zara, there have only been a handful of occasions where my try-ons were this successful.

Within minutes of stepping inside the store’s revolving doors, I had at least three items in my hand, all of which happened to be dresses. One loop around the main floor later, and I’d added four more to the pile. By the time I got downstairs to the dressing rooms, I’d accumulated more summer dresses than Zara allows you to take into the fitting room at once. Suddenly two hours had passed, and I’d tried on at least 15 dresses, six of which had rendered me speechless. Keep scrolling to see which Zara dresses received 5-star reviews during my last in-store visit.

As crazy as it sounds, I shop for a living. (I know, talk about achieving your childhood dreams.) Being an editor, a large chunk of my 9-to-5 is spent scrolling through new arrivals, sale selections, and best-sellers, scouring the internet for pieces that stand out in a seemingly endless sea of options, all with the mindset being that if I do it, you won’t have to.

It’s this facet of my job description that brought me here today, ready to share with you all of the most eye-catching (and honestly drool-worthy) finds I discovered this week. And since Nordstrom’s selection has been nothing short of sensational lately, I figured I’d narrow down my list to just the ones there that deserve far more attention than they’re currently getting. That is, if you consider 50 items “narrowed down.”

  • These $20 H&M Sandals Are Giving Too Strong of Khaite Vibes to Not Sell Out

These $20 H&M Sandals Are Giving Too Strong of Khaite Vibes to Not Sell Out

    [ad_1]

I’ve long been adamant about my love for heels of all kinds and my general avoidance of flats whenever possible. So, you can imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a $20 pair of utterly heel-less strappy sandals on H&M’s website that I not only wanted but literally had to have. Minimal in shape but loud in terms of their print—the sandals are snakeskin, a trend I’ve already coined *the* animal print of 2023—the cost-effective sandals were shockingly alluring to a heel lover like me.

Naturally, I did further research in order to try and zero in on what exactly about H&M’s newest sandals caught my eye, only to remember that Khaite—one of the fashion set’s most desired labels, not to mention a personal favorite of mine—made a similar pair for spring. Though the H&M pair doesn’t feature quite as many luxurious details as the Khaite ones do, they do cost more than $700 less whilst still giving off the same overall aesthetic, so my interest in them shouldn’t be all that startling.

I’d be willing to bet that I’m not the only anti-flats fashion person with a soft spot for these H&M sandals, meaning that the likelihood of them staying in stock is next to none. Shop them while you still can below.

I’ve Been Waiting For a Sale to Buy These 40 Shopbop Items—Now They’re 40% Off

    [ad_1]

Not to brag or anything, but I’m kind of an expert when it comes to scoring a deal. The art all really comes down to one thing: patience. Being surrounded by sought-after designer items all day like I am is going to make you want to shop—period. But if you can just note the retailers that are selling the pieces you want most and sit on your hands until they run a sale, you can get those pieces at a fraction of the original price, not to mention a heap of self satisfaction. Honestly, coming out the winner of a sale is sometimes even better than receiving the item you actually won.

With that in mind, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that Shopbop was holding a sneaky three-day sale this week that’s chock-full with all of my summer wishlist items. From now until Wednesday, the retailer’s offering up a sneak peek at its always-epic summer sale by doling out 40% off discounts on a ton of warm-weather items from the likes of Vince, Khaite, Agolde, Nili Lotan, and Saint Laurent. Me to me: Say less. Since we’re working with a tight timeline, I’ll let the 40 on-sale Shopbop items below do the talking. Now get shopping.

  • I’m a Dress Snob—These 38 Are Pretty Enough to Pass My Test (By a Landslide)

I’m a Dress Snob—These 38 Are Pretty Enough to Pass My Test (By a Landslide)

    [ad_1]

Saying that I like to dress up would be the understatement of the year. Most days, I’m fully dressed (even when working from home, which I do most days) in heels and a dress, not to mention jewelry and accessories, by 9 in the morning if not earlier. Because of that, my standards for dresses have become quite high, with comfort, style, versatility, and more all factoring into my buying decisions in the dress department

Of late, though, I’ve started to get bored of the dresses in my current rotation, leading me to look elsewhere for new styles to add to my repertoire. Many hours and what felt like 10,000 dresses later, I narrowed my search down to just 38 options. Keep scrolling to shop the summer dresses that have my extremely hard to secure stamp of approval.

  • 2023’s Most Popular Animal Print Has Arrived—5 Low Key Ways to Wear It

2023’s Most Popular Animal Print Has Arrived—5 Low Key Ways to Wear It

    [ad_1]

If you’re simultaneously obsessed with the latest micro-trends and too intimidated to test them out, you’ve come to the right place. This is Ways to Wear, a monthly series where editor Eliza Huber offers a dose of outfit inspiration centered around current trends that feel intriguing yet overwhelming at the same time. Consider it your guide to actually wearing the coolest items of the moment, no matter how puzzling they might appear at first.

As someone who tests out trends for a living, it’s rare for one to stump me. I’ll wear anything once (and probably a few more times after that), whether it’s underwear as pants on the streets of New York or a whale tail. One of the only themes in fashion that’s ever truly thrown me is snakeskin. I can wear a leopard-print bikini or a cow-print coat, but something about snakeskin has always felt especially intimidating and difficult to style in any sort of nonchalant manner.

With that, when I started to notice the print gathering momentum after the spring/summer 2023 runway shows last September—it was especially prevalent in Khaite and 16Arlington’s collections for the season—I knew that it was time to crack the code and finally figure out how to wear snakeskin right. Four items, five looks, and plenty of discarded combinations later, I can, at last, say that I’m no longer intimidated by spring’s fastest-growing print. In fact, I’m more than ready to embrace it. Prepare yourself for the same conclusion by scrolling down.

I’m Flying to Miami In 24 Hours—25 Items I’m Running to Zara to Buy and Pack

    [ad_1]

Despite writing about packing and vacation planning all day long, I’m not exactly the expert in actually doing either in a responsible manner. Usually, I think about making a packing list all the way up to a few hours before my actual flight, at which point I’m stuck throwing tons of pieces into my carry-on and hoping for the best. The result? Me ending up in Berlin without a coat, jacket, or any outerwear option at all or touching down in Mexico City sans a single pair of walking shoes.

Given that I’m flying to Miami for the Formula One Grand Prix in roughly 24 hours and have yet to take out my suitcase, I clearly haven’t learned my lesson. Luckily, I live in a city that allows me to never be more than a walk, train ride, or cab away from Zara, where right now, everything in stock feels primed for a tropical vacation. Ahead, see which items I’m planning to buy and pack when I sprint over to whichever one is closest to before I take off tomorrow.

19 Viral Items That Instagram Practically Forced Me to Buy

I love TikTok as much as the next person, but for anything fashion related, Instagram will forever remain my primary source. There, if you follow the right people, you’re never more than a scroll away from discovering the next viral brand, trend, or, my personal favorite, item. And unlike on TikTok, where anyone can claim to be an expert on anything, everyone on your Instagram feed’s already been vetted (by you) and therefore tenfold more trustworthy.

As someone who’s been consistently obsessed with the platform since it first came out, I’ve spent years curating a following list that I know can provide me with guaranteed winners in the fashion department, whether its a high-end buy like Bottega Veneta’s internet-famous drop earrings or the $98 Gap jeans that nobody can stop talking about.
