  • Massimo Dutti’s Summer Drop Looks Too Good to Be True, so I Test-Drove It IRL

Massimo Dutti’s Summer Drop Looks Too Good to Be True, so I Test-Drove It IRL

    [ad_1]

No matter how good the photos are, detailed the descriptions are, or visually appealing the website interface is, shopping online will never ever compare to the simple act of trying something on. Why do you think the pandemic led to so many outlandish purchases? No one could try anything on first, and everyone was too exhausted to return anything. Unfortunately, depending on where you’re shopping from, you might not have the privilege of living in close proximity to every store you’re eyeing something from. That’s where I come in.

Exhibit number one is Massimo Dutti, Zara’s elevated older-sister brand that specializes in clothing, shoes, and accessories for people who want their clothes to do the work for them by making them look chic without any effort. Think linen separates, satin slips, tweed outerwear, and flats and heels that look and feel like designer but rarely cost more than $200. This season’s offering is one of the Spanish retailer’s all-time best.

Without a store in the U.S., though, you’ll have to either cross over into Montréal or Toronto in Canada or board a flight to Europe in order to test its pieces in real life. Well, you can do that or follow my lead by ordering a monstrous haul of the brand’s new summer pieces to try on at home. Below, check out all nine of the pieces I ordered from Massimo Dutti’s summer drop and get the lowdown on the Zara-owned brand that all the best dressers in Europe, from Paris to Madrid, rely on.

All the Under-$200 Item That Chic Celebs Wear On Repeat—You’re Welcome

The original influencers, celebrities are a tried-and-true source for style inspiration. They’re the ones with the major designer partnerships—from Laura Harrier and Hailey Bieber‘s ties to Saint Laurent to Jennifer Lawrence’s long-standing relationship with Dior. They’re also the people photographed most frequently, allowing us to discover a new look pretty much daily. Basically, if you need help picking out an outfit, look up your favorite celeb. Nine times out of ten, they’ll have worn an outfit for you to mimic.

There’s only one problem: Rarely do they wear pieces that the average person can buy on a whim, with so many of their wardrobe items being hard to find and costing a small fortune. On occasion, though, even the celeb set can’t resist a pair of $150 sneakers or a $50 tee, providing us with an opportunity to recreate their looks to a T without breaking the bank. Below, find all of the under-$200 items that chic celebs like Sofia Richie Grainge and Kendall Jenner wear on repeat.

I Genuinely Can’t believe How Pretty These 29 Nordstrom Fashion Finds Are

    [ad_1]

A normal day in my life looks a little bit like this: Wake up, make a coffee, get distracted until dinner scrolling through thousands of items on Nordstrom.com, eat, sleep, and repeat. Given how many items there are to choose from and the quality of the options, I can do this for multiple days in a row and still have plenty to see (and usually shop). It’s a good thing then that my job gives me an outlet to share all of my findings or else all that time spent would be for nothing.

Because of how much of my day is spent wading through Nordstrom’s endless offerings, it’s safe to assume that when I’m blown away by the quality of an edit, I’m not saying it lightly. And that was exactly my reaction to the selection of items I bookmarked during my most recent scroll. Below, take a look at 45 finds I was understandably taken aback by, all of which are currently available at Nordstrom.

  • Yes, That’s From Madewell—18 Items I Tried On That Could Easily Be Designer

Yes, That’s From Madewell—18 Items I Tried On That Could Easily Be Designer

    [ad_1]

Welcome to Let’s Get a Room, a series where editor Eliza Huber heads to the dressing room to try on pieces from your favorite retailers, buzzy items, and new collections. Think of this column as a detailed guide to the pieces that are actually worth buying and the ones that, unfortunately, looked better online—no returns necessary.

I’ll admit, I’m new to the Madewell bandwagon. But after spotting a slew of pieces that I straight up couldn’t believe were from the affordable denim brand and not a designer ready-to-wear label, I figured it was about time I stop sleeping on its offerings and finally give the retailer a proper IRL test-drive. And since a brand-new location just opened on the Upper East Side in Manhattan and I myself am an uptown newcomer, I practically had no choice but to stop by and set up shop in the dressing room for a few hours.

To say that my expectations for the selection were exceeded wouldn’t even begin to describe the situation at hand. As an extremely picky fashion editor, getting pieces to impress me online is already rare. For them to win me over in person is a whole other, far more strenuous feat. And yet, from linen trousers to basic tanks, pretty much everything I brought with me into my dressing room at Madewell came home with me.

I Can’t (and Won’t) Shut Up About the 31 Quiet-Luxury Ref Items I Just Unearthed

    [ad_1]

As someone with high standards for all things fashion related, it’s a rare occurrence when I scroll through a retailer’s selection and am met with only aces. Usually, I’m digging through hundreds, even thousands of items, searching for just a few winners. But that was light years away from what I had to do when I logged onto Reformation’s website this week to check out the brand’s latest summer pieces.

Immediately upon entering the site, I was met with countless timeless and expensive-looking pieces, from halter dresses to linen trousers to elevated tees. As overused as the phrase has become, I can only accurately describe my discoveries as quiet luxury. Clean, luxe, and deserving of a few extra zeroes (though I’m not complaining that they were left off), the selection I’ve put together below from Reformation gives wealth to an absolute T. Scroll down to see what I mean.

I’ve Now Shopped Every Sale of the Summer—These Are the Only Deals That Matter

    [ad_1]

If you’ve happened upon any clothing stores in the last month, whether in-person or digitally, you’ll know that the summer sale season is well underway. As we speak, practically every retailer on the planet is marking down whatever last-season product they have left in order to make room for all of the new arrivals they invested in for fall. That is why we, too, are scrambling, but not to get rid of things. Instead, we’re on the hunt for new (to us) finds, all of which are being sold for a fraction of what we would have paid for them just a few weeks ago.

To get a handle on this season’s sale selection, I took on the task of scouring the marked-down items at every retailer, from Zara and Mango to Net-a-Porter and Nordstrom. One too many personal shopping breaks and about a thousand product pages later, I curated the wishlist of all wish lists, which I conveniently laid out below. I’ll go ahead and consider your forthcoming purchases a thank you.

  • I’ve Been Scouring J.Crew’s Sale All Day—These Chic Finds Made It All Worth It

I’ve Been Scouring J.Crew’s Sale All Day—These Chic Finds Made It All Worth It

    [ad_1]

Find me a store that’s not putting on some type of sale right now—I’ll wait. Newsflash, you’re not going to find one, making navigating all of the thousands of different deals a task that’s not for the faint of heart. But, as a self-proclaimed sale expert, I know a thing or two about finding the best markdowns. And after spending all of my Friday scrolling through bargains, I’ve narrowed down the list to just one, the most elite sale of them all, which just so happens to be going on this weekend over at J.Crew.

As we speak, J.Crew’s sale section is overflowing with summer-ready pieces that should still be full price (though I’m certainly not complaining), with slip dresses, white denim, minimalist sandals, and elevated basics all making the cut. And no, I’m not talking about leftover items with next to no sizes available in loud colors and patterns. This selection is utterly timeless, not to mention just a few clicks away. Even better, some of its contents are getting additional markdowns when you enter the code FOURTH at checkout, including an extra 60% off select sale items and 50% off select summer must-haves.

Since I know you have long-weekend plans to get to, I went ahead and did all of the work for you, rounding up 26 of the chicest finds below. Let’s get into it.

  • My Friend Has $150 to Spend at Nordstrom—29 Affordable Finds I Said to Buy First

My Friend Has $150 to Spend at Nordstrom—29 Affordable Finds I Said to Buy First

    [ad_1]

Everyone in a friend group has to offer up something different. For instance, one of my friends is an expert in all things food, whether that means snagging an impossible-to-get dinner reservation or creating the perfect dinner-party spread. Another is a social butterfly who connects everyone with everyone else in the sort of effortless manner that I could only ever dream of. And then there’s the activities chair, who seems to have endless ideas for things we can do. Me? Well, as the only fashion editor in the group, my duties start and end with clothes.

With this job, I often get texts, DMs, and FaceTime calls about sartorial dilemmas, from a lack of outfit inspiration to a tricky dress code. But of all the fashion-related inquiries I receive on a daily basis, the one I get most is, “I have X amount of money to spend. What should I buy?” Given that I scan the market every single day, I always have a slew of responses at the ready. I don’t, however, usually publish my responses on Who What Wear. So when my friend texted me asking for tips on how to spend her $150 Nordstrom gift card the other day, I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and make a story out of my selects for her. Hopefully, they’ll be as enticing to all of you as they were to her.

Without further ado, see (and shop) the 29 under-$150 items I practically forced my girlfriend to buy.

I’m Kind Of a Zara Expert—Every Item I’m Buying From Its Epic Annual Sale

    [ad_1]

The Zara sale isn’t like other sales. The brand doesn’t just toss around discounts every few months like its competitors do. Instead, it waits until the very beginning of summer—after tons of covetable warm-weather pieces have dropped—and announces one big markdown that lasts for weeks and turns Zara lovers like me into animals as we all fight to get the best deals. There’s a reason why the lines during its sale loop halfway around the store every year. It’s epic—and it’s all happening right now.

Since practically everything on Zara.com is marked down right now, I thought I’d save you all the time and effort of scrolling through hundreds and hundreds of sale items and do the hard part of finding the very best ones for you. Decoding Zara’s sale is, after all, my favorite pastime. In fact, it’s the highlight of my year. So, before I go off on a tangent about my years-long love affair with the Spanish retailer, scroll down to shop my highlight reel from the just-launched Zara sale. And don’t wait. Items are already selling out.

Passing on H&M’s One-Day Sale Will Only Lead to Regret—Shop These 24 Items First

    [ad_1]

Just because H&M‘s prices are stellar all year long doesn’t in any way take away from the excitement that arrives when the brand launches one of its sneaky sales. Always a bit of a surprise, H&M’s sales are comparable to the ultimate treasure hunt, with many only lasting a short period of time and housing thousands of epic finds. One such occasion just so happens to be going on right now, and as always, the marked-down finds are next-level good.

From wardrobe essentials like tanks, tees, and denim that should always be restocked at a discount to trendy dresses, accessories, and shoes, this event has all the makings of a great sale. As for the details, the brand has slashed every single price tag on its website by 15%, with sale items getting an additional 50%-off sticker. But there really is no time to waste, as there are only 13 hours left before all of those red-marked items go back to black. To help you shop the sale as efficiently as possible, I went ahead and rounded up the 24 best pieces from the bunch. Scroll down to shop them while you still can.

  • I’ve Never Been a J.Crew or Madewell Girl—These 33 Summer Finds Changed My Mind

I’ve Never Been a J.Crew or Madewell Girl—These 33 Summer Finds Changed My Mind

    [ad_1]

Everyone has brands that they go to and have gone to for decades to furnish their wardrobe. Through dozens of style evolutions and new, exciting trends, those brands have remained, proving that loyalty reigns supreme, even in 2023. Forever intrigued by this phenomenon, I regularly ask people to name-drop their tried-and-true labels, and when I say that their responses almost always feature one of the following two brands, I’m not exaggerating one bit. If you guessed Madewell and J.Crew, you’re on the money.

Classic, elevated, and timeless, both J.Crew and Madewell have built cult-like followings unlike any others. Until recently, though, I never fully understood the hype. Sure, I shopped at both over the years, picking up a sweater or a great pair of jeans. But when it comes to brands that I’ve frequented for much of my life, neither was ever one of them. The last few months have, however, seen a significant shift in my shopping behavior, resulting in me finding myself thinking about and buying items from both J.Crew and Madewell not only more than ever before but also more than any other retailer. Apparently, you can teach an old dog new tricks. All it takes is a shockingly pretty sundress and plenty of linen.

Below, check out the 33 summer items that are continuing to change my mind about J.Crew and Madewell.

  • The Numbers Don’t Lie: 29 Best-Selling Zara Pieces That Will Sell Out This Month

The Numbers Don’t Lie: 29 Best-Selling Zara Pieces That Will Sell Out This Month

    [ad_1]

Even a seasoned Zara shopper like myself sometimes gets overwhelmed by the brand’s biweekly drops, each containing hundreds of new arrivals. What can I say? I’m human, too. Even so, like most Zara fans, I never want to miss out on the next It pieces, especially since, as a general rule of thumb, the brand doesn’t restock items once they sell out. (Exceptions are made on occasion for select basics and shoes.) Then, I got an idea.

Rather than spending hours scrolling through Zara’s new releases multiple times per week, I decided to go straight to the source to find out which pieces from the brand’s most recent product dumps are making the biggest impact on shoppers. In other words, I asked the brand point-blank what its best-selling items were right this very second. With the inside scoop, you (and I) now have everything in your toolbox that’s needed to shop the most in-demand Zara pieces of the current season. My suggestion? Don’t take long to decide which ones you want to add to your spring wardrobe. If I’ve learned anything from the last 10 years of shopping at Zara, this selection isn’t going to last long, and missing out on these 29 pieces simply isn’t an option.

I Dedicated 6 Hours to Shopping at Nordstrom, and These Were My Chicest Finds

I tend to go down rabbit holes when I shop online, opening up tab after tab until my laptop gets hot and starts humming, informing me that if I don’t go outside and take a breather, the spinning ball of death will arrive and never leave. Despite the potential threat, I’ve never learned to shop online any other way in my 27 years. Take my last full day of shopping, for instance. I spent roughly six hours scrolling and clicking on Nordstrom.com until my computer got so hot it nearly burned me.

One of the reasons why I’ve never been able to kick the habit is because the outcome is always worth it. And this last time was no exception. During those six hours, I put together a heavily curated shopping cart of 32 of the chicest finds I’ve discovered all summer, including everything from quiet-luxury staples to of-the-moment buys destined to bring forth compliments. So make my technical difficulties worth it by shopping the contents of my Nordstrom wishlist below.

All of My Friends Love Shopbop—These Are the Items They Just Bought

Fun fact: I think every single one of my close friends considers Shopbop to be one of their go-to stores. It’s certainly on my top-five list. On that note, I thought it would be fun to ask them to share the recent items in their order history to potentially inspire any of your summer shopping needs.

As a preview, there are a few amazing Anine Bing items that made the list. I actually just purchased a striped tee myself. There’s also a more affordable yet expensive-looking skirt that’s a total standout and a darling pair of ballet flats that’s now one of my friend’s new staples. The items my crew bought are the first seven in the edit below. I also rounded up a range of other Shopbop items I’m loving and that I think you’ll adore as well.

  • 69 Items of Summer: The Extensive Wardrobe Checklist You Didn’t Know You Needed

69 Items of Summer: The Extensive Wardrobe Checklist You Didn’t Know You Needed

    [ad_1]

Curating a versatile, well-rounded wardrobe is no easy feat. It might seem simple, but between basics, statement pieces, and those in-between items that bring everything together, there’s a lot to take into account before entering a single credit-card digit. Plus, apart from those core year-round pieces, it’s essential to consider how styles change every season and every year, meaning that one always has to stay on their toes, prepped and ready to add or remove garments, shoes, and accessories at any given moment.

If only there was a checklist like the one we all got on the first day of school that listed off every notebook, marker, and folder that was paramount to our success in the 180 days ahead, but instead of school supplies, it would name wardrobe items for each of the four seasons. That way, no one would ever get caught up unexpectedly mid-season and have to scramble to find a core piece of their wardrobe after every option has already sold out.

That was my train of thought at least, which is why I went ahead and made one myself—starting with summer, of course. This list will allow you to easily and in a very organized manner (can you tell I’m extremely type A?) check off this season’s most necessary garments, shoes, and accessories one by one until your warm-weather wardrobe is complete. From every variation of ballet flats to the perfect white denim, scroll through the ultimate summer checklist below.

This Is Not a Drill—Adidas Just Restocked Its Sell-Out Sambas

    [ad_1]

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past three years, you probably already know all about the phenomenon that is Adidas’s Samba sneakers and the hold the retro soccer style has on fashion people. Their allure is no big mystery or anything. With an affordable price tag, a minimal appearance, a handful of cool collaborations (from Gucci to Wales Bonner), and a long history of being worn by interesting people, there really was no other option but to be majorly successful. But no one could have predicted just how buzzy they’d become.

In 2023, classic black or white Sambas are some of the hardest shoes to get your hands on, and that’s in comparison to viral designer heels and limited-edition releases. Whether it’s a third-party stockist or Adidas itself, retailers simply cannot seem to keep these old-school sneakers in stock. That is why it was such a big, huge, major deal that when I popped onto Adidas.com yesterday to check on available sizes and found the entire selection to be in stock. But that was 12 hours ago, and already, smaller sizes in the white OG Sambas are gone. Don’t let that happen in the black option too without snagging a pair for summer. Before every last Samba disappears, scroll down and shop 2023’s most-wanted kicks.

Someone Stop Me Before I Buy These 40 Zara, H&M, and Nordstrom Finds

    [ad_1]

Though it’s now a part of my job, I was aggressively checking the new arrivals at all my favorite retailers long before I was a fashion editor. Since I could shop, I’ve been enthralled by the rows and rows of never-before-seen items that arrive in droves every season at stores like Zara, H&M, and Nordstrom. That fascination came in handy this morning when I set off to round up the best summer pieces that dropped this week at all three retailers above.

Given that I’ve practically trained my entire life for this type of task, you can rest easy knowing the list of 40 just-debuted pieces from H&M, Zara, and Nordstrom that I meticulously curated below includes only items worth saying “yes” to. H&M’s Newest Items Are Actually Perfect—33 I’m Texting Everyone I Know About

    [ad_1]

Given the enormous red sale banner on the homepage of H&M’s website, I got distracted during my weekly crawl of the brand’s new arrivals and almost completely forgot to check them out. Luckily, I fought the urge to scroll through the sale for the umpteenth time, because a few clicks away were hundreds of new items that were as close to perfect as a wardrobe item can get—especially when the max price is $100

This week, in addition to plenty of fresh discounts, H&M dropped a bevy of summer arrivals that demand your immediate attention. So, it’s no wonder that I’ve already texted half of my contact list about them, not to mention wrote this dedicated story. Tube dresses, linen trousers, eyelet tops, minimalist sandals, and more—it’s as if H&M saw my extensive wishlist for the season and said, “Make it.” Before everything inevitably sells out in seconds (but actually, this will happen), scroll down to shop H&M’s newest items.

If Nordstrom Existed In Italy, These 29 Items Would Be the First to Sell Out

    [ad_1]

Though I don’t have an ounce of Italian blood in my body, I’ve always been allured by the country, from its architecture and food to, of course, its signature fashion. For all of these reasons and more, I try to visit the country as often as I possibly can (I just traveled to both Milan and the Emilia Romagna region last week) and stay up to date with its residents’ current tastes via the street-style Instagram account @milanesiamilano, giving me a fair understanding of what the chicest people who live there are eyeing, buying, and wearing in 2023.

Because I spend so much time studying Italian style (not to mention cars—I’m personally a Ferrari fan though I wouldn’t say no to an adorable Fiat—coffee, recipes, and more), I often find myself noticing pieces during my everyday scrolls that I think would feel right at home in the country, be it a billowy, cotton midi skirt or a superbly tailored blazer. And since much of my market research is done at Nordstrom, a store that sadly hasn’t broken into the Italian market, I decided that I’d spend my day scouring the entirety of the retailer and picking out items that I believe an Italian woman would buy if it were to open up shop on Milan, Rome, or Florence. See which pieces fit the bill below.

  • I Spent My Entire Workday Shopping Nordstrom’s Sale—30 Finds I’m Losing It Over

I Spent My Entire Workday Shopping Nordstrom’s Sale—30 Finds I’m Losing It Over

    [ad_1]

There comes a point in any major sale when you need to stop resisting the urge to shop and finally give in to temptation. I, more than anyone, will tell you that shopping a sale right when it begins won’t result in the best deal. However, once the dust has settled a bit and sizes and colors have begun to dwindle, it’s essential that you hop to it and snag the items you’re eyeing before someone else does. There’s a short window for success, but as a fashion editor who’s covered countless sales, I’m prepared to make sure you don’t miss it.

Arguably, the biggest sale happening right now is Nordstrom’s epic Half-Yearly Sale, which currently includes nearly 20,000 marked-down items for women, from shoes and handbags to apparel. In the bunch are designer finds from brands like Khaite, Nili Lotan, The Row, Tory Burch, and The Attico as well as affordable items from Skims, Topshop, Open Edit, and Levi’s. Really, this year’s Half-Yearly Sale includes a little bit of everything, and that’s coming from someone who, over the last day, has probably looked through every last one of the 19,576 items on sale.

In order to ensure that you don’t lose out on your chance to get in on the action, I rounded up 30 of the most mind-boggling pieces that are on sale right now. Scroll down to shop them all.
