  • The *One* Anti-Trend Piece I Buy, Wear, and Pack on Repeat

The *One* Anti-Trend Piece I Buy, Wear, and Pack on Repeat

    [ad_1]

I’m not someone who holds onto things in their wardrobe that they don’t wear. I suppose that’s in part due to the size of my apartment, which doesn’t exactly allow for excess. But it’s also largely tied to my dedication to stocking my closet only with pieces I love and want to wear on repeat. And of all the items stored in there, the ones that arguably get the most attention are my trench coats—hands down. I have no shame in admitting that I play favorites.

In the winter, I wear them layered with hoodies and knitwear, while the spring and summer see my lightweight versions worn with slip dresses or simple jeans-and-tee ensembles. I bring one with me on practically every trip, no matter the location, and have a problem not buying one when a chic, new silhouette hits the market. I’m obsessed (clearly), and there’s nothing you can say or do to convince me otherwise. As for what allows me to keep on wearing them so frequently without tiring, I maintain an ever-refreshed moodboard full of trench-coat outfit inspiration, and my latest one was too good not to share.

Scroll down to examine my 12 current favorite trench-coat looks from Instagram and shop your way to recreating each one.

  • Fall 2023’s Top Runway Trend Was Wearability—12 Ways You Can Copy It RN

Fall 2023’s Top Runway Trend Was Wearability—12 Ways You Can Copy It RN

    [ad_1]

It’s not every season that most of the big shows during fashion month send looks down the runway that anyone, even someone who might not necessarily consider themselves a “fashion person,” could recreate with pieces they already own. Trust me—I’ve attempted to mimic my fair share of runway looks. Typically, it involves the help of sample pulls, personal purchases, and sometimes even cutting up pieces in my closet. But this fall, you can rest easy knowing that one of the most significant and talked-about trends of the entire season was wearability

From a tank top and jeans closing out Matthieu Blazy’s third show for Bottega Veneta to Miu Miu models donning leggings and zip-up hoodies, there was no shortage of wardrobe staples and basics on the runway at the fall/winter 2023 shows across the board, from New York to Paris and everywhere in between. Tailored coats reigned supreme at Khaite. Blazers accompanied nearly every model at Saint Laurent. And classic denim made appearances at both Alaïa and Gucci. Clearly, designers, like us, have an affinity for pieces that are as versatile and sensible as they are shockingly gorgeous in construction. *Sighs in relief.*

Prepare to save all 60 of the runway looks featured ahead. Trust me, you’ll need them when you go to style all the classic staples in your current wardrobe.

    [ad_1]

Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one Who What Wear team member or friend of the brand will share the top 30 fashion and beauty finds on their current wish list.

Yesterday was raining and freezing where I live but today is sunny and beautiful (albeit still freezing) and it’s put me in a big spring shopping mood. I find that the best way to approach shopping for a new season is to see what basics are missing in my wardrobe and start filling those holes with items that will make getting dressed easier when the new season arrives, so that’s what I’m here to do.

For spring 2023, I’m all about classic pieces with a modern twist, and brands have already begun releasing plenty of those for spring, so let’s shop. Scroll for my most-wanted spring wardrobe builders. (Maybe if we order some we’ll spring to arrive sooner…)

  • A Nordstrom Stylist Replaced My Outdated Clothes With These 5 Easy Items

A Nordstrom Stylist Replaced My Outdated Clothes With These 5 Easy Items

    [ad_1]

I consider Nordstrom to be one of my go-to stores. While I routinely shop the retailer online and browse the site on a daily basis as I’m doing market research for my various stories, I also like to visit the brick-and-mortar store when I’m near one. Recently, I did just that when I visited Chicago. But I didn’t simply browse the racks. I actually had the opportunity to work one-on-one with one of the brand’s in-house stylists.

That’s right. I spent the morning with Lauren Meek (pictured above) as she pulled items she thought would work for me. And given that I’m always interested in learning how others define what’s “in and out,” I had Meek swap in pieces she thinks could replace some of the outdated items in my closet. Of course, though, I always note that styling choices are personal, and you should always wear whatever you absolutely love.

With all that in mind, keep scrolling for a deeper dive into what a Nordstrom stylist added into my offering. The pieces coming your way are all unique, but they all share a similarity, in that they’re simple and easy to style. If any of the product categories catch your eye, I also went through Nordstrom’s offering online to shop out inspired womenswear products that could be of interest to you.

  • I’m All About Relaxed Fashion—These 29 Items Are Front-Runners in My Wardrobe

I’m All About Relaxed Fashion—These 29 Items Are Front-Runners in My Wardrobe

    [ad_1]

One thing I know I’m not bringing into 2023? An overly complicated fashion sense. Gone are the days of wearing jeans that are a little too snug after I eat a meal or a pair of boots that I can only manage to take several steps in. No. I’m taking a stand. This year, I’ll be implementing a more relaxed approach to fashion.

Let’s be clear that when I say relaxed, I don’t mean messy or not put together. Instead, I’m referring to that easy, effortless look associated with French and Scandinavian street style. Of course, relaxed also implies embracing the baggy, loose, and flowy styles that happen to be in this season as well, which, considering the context, I’m all for.

If you’d like to follow my lead here, keep scrolling. My top picks for a more laid-back wardrobe are below.
