Vogue Williams admits she feels ‘ugly’ on I’m A Celebrity

During last night’s show, in a chat with Lisa Riley, Aitch, and Ruby Wax, Vogue confessed she feels “so ugly in here, everyone is so good looking, it’s so annoying.”

Her campmates were quick to put her right, though.

“You’re the freshest out of all of us!” Aitch said.

“You’re the prettiest person I’ve ever seen in my life,” Ruby gushed.

“Vogue doesn’t know she’s attractive, and she’s one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen, which would slightly [bleep] me off in real life,” Ruby admitted in the Bush Telegraph.

“You know how attractive you are,” Ruby told Vogue, reassuring her that she wasn’t ugly.

“We’ve all looked better,” Vogue joked.

Ruby and Vogue then discussed their respective cosmetic procedures, with Vogue admitting she’s had “loads of Botox”.

However, viewers weren’t as patient towards Vogue’s remark as Ruby, with many accusing the star of “fishing for compliments”.

“Vogue fishing for compliments is embarrassing!” one viewer tweeted.

“Can’t stand people who know they look good, fishing for compliments,” another said.

“Vogue fishing for compliments?? I do not believe for a second that she doesn’t know she’s attractive,” a third wrote.

“Was Vogue fishing for compliments talking about her appearance? It came across that way,” another said.

“Vogue fishing for compliments, that’s put me right off her,” a fifth wrote.

However, some viewers were quick to compliment Vogue.

“If Vogue is ugly, then what the hell am I? Because I do not look like her,” one viewer joked.

“I listen to her podcast with Joanne McNally on the regular, she’s very down to earth and self-deprecating, she takes pride in her appearance and is very honest about any Botox, etc. She doesn’t ever say she’s attractive either way,” another viewer said.

People are so cruel on here… if #Vogue feels insecure, then she feels insecure. It isn’t compliment-fishing. Have empathy rather than being so judgmental of others. How we feel inside is something only we ourselves can know – ‘don’t judge a book by its cover,’” another said.

Viewers react to I’m A Celebrity latecomers

Over on social media, I’m A Celebrity fans delivered their verdict on the news Vogue and Tom are heading into camp.

“Who the hell are the late arrivals never heard of either of them?” said one. “The two late arrivals are so underwhelming this year,” said a second. A third added: “Who on earth are these two?” “Well this is awks I genuinely have no idea who the newbies are,” said another.

Speaking about her fears ahead of entering camp, TV presenter and model Vogue told ITV that she reckons I’m A Celebrity will be harder than Bear Grylls survival show Mission Survive, which she won back in 2015.

“I think this is going to be harder because when I did that, I had no responsibilities. I had nobody at home. And I was braver back then too.

“I am scared of everything, but I think what I am going to struggle with the most is missing my children. I’m very worried about missing the kids, as I have never been away this long before and I spend such a huge amount of time with them. It will be my biggest struggle,” she said.

Celebs Go Dating star as ‘fearful as a porcupine’

Tom, meanwhile, admitted that he’s as “fearful as a porcupine” about going into the jungle.

He told ITV: “My first thought when they approached me about taking part was abject terror. But I have got a very strict rule in life. If the only reason that you don’t want to do it is fear, you must do it whatever it is.

“I’m fearful as a porcupine and I am very nervous that my grey cells won’t dance properly in camp, too. At home, I do a cryptic crossword every day, I always have a book on the go and I am a bit worried that my frontal lobes will drop off if I don’t have a lubricant for it.

“I can be vague at times and I don’t want to scatter brain cells over the camp!”

Joanne then commented: “Winston is one of the few animals I’ve ever heard of to die naturally in the arms of their owner. Most pets from my experience, they get really sick, they have to be put down, I think there’s something really sweet about the fact that you were with him. In that he died of natural causes.”

Vogue then admitted that she was scared her beloved dog might have died while he was alone in the middle of the night.

“To be honest with you I actually did feel really lucky because I was really stressed about that, or it happening during the night when he was on his own, and then this morning he just lay down by the front door and he just died. He didn’t squeal or anything,” she said.

The death has taken a toll on Vogue as she insisted she never wants to get a pet again.

She explained: “I swear to God I’m never doing it again. After Bertie I’m never getting any pets again, it’s just too sad. I’ve been crying non-stop today and it’s a horrible feeling.”
