Virgin has launched a new promotion for members looking to top up their points balance to jet off to a dream destination or for a unique experience. Virgin Red and Flying Club are offering a bonus of up to 70% for members buying or gifting points between October 8 and November 6, 2024.

Please see the bonuses members can earn below. If members buy:

    • 5,000 – 24,000 points: 20% Bonus
    • 25,000 – 69,000 points: 40% Bonus
    • 70,000 – 99,000 points: 60% Bonus
    • 100,000 – 200,000 points: 70% Bonus

Virgin Points can be bought in increments of 1,000 and as an extra bonus, the points purchase cap has been raised during this offer period to 200,000 points. If purchasing 200,000 points, with the bonus you’d receive a maximum of 340,000 Virgin Points. That would be enough for a stay at Sir Richard Branson’s luxury safari camp, Mahali Mzuri. You can see the promotion page here.

    Guru’s Wrap-up

The 70% bonus is the best promotion that we see for buying Virgin Points. For US based members the cost comes out to 1.48 cents per point for the maximum bonus. UK based members get a better deal at 1.16 cents per point.

It’s worth mentioning that you already have plenty of option to earn Virgin Points. You can transfer from American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou. Plus, the Virgin Red Rewards Mastercard is also available now in the US.

Solved: Problem booking Air France/KLM with Virgin points

Virgin points are often the cheapest option for booking Air France or KLM flights. The problem comes in after you click through to book the flight… after you enter each passenger’s information… after you enter your credit card details. When you click to actually finalize the booking, the system thinks for a little while then decides “no soup for you!” with a message that says “Sorry, there are no longer seats available on your chosen flight. Please try another search.” ➡️ Read more

JetBlue MINT Suite Doors Will Soon Be Disabled On The A321neo

JetBlue made a big splash a few years ago when it announced new MINT suites with doors on its A321neo and A321LR aircraft for its new international flights. Virgin Atlantic is one of the few carriers that is a transfer partner with most major points currencies. You can get more Virgin Points by transferring from:

    Guru’s Wrap-up

This is a good opportunity for those that need more Virgin Points. You can now transfer 1,000 American Express Membership Rewards points and receive 1,300 Virgin Points. As a reminder, Virgin Points never expire, so you can take advantage of this promotion even if you don’t need to make an immediate booking. However, it’s best not to transfer speculatively, because these transfers are not reversible. Once a transfer is done, there’s no going back.

The best use of Virgin Points is probably with ANA. Make sure you are familiar with the program, and see what value you can get, before transferring points. Virgin Voyages cruises are also a good option during some of the great promotions they have run recently
