  • Brewers fan says ‘call ICE’ on Latino Dodgers fan; woman now out of job

    [ad_1]

A Latino Los Angeles Dodgers fan says a night at American Family Field turned ugly when a Milwaukee Brewers fan targeted him with an insult about immigration – and the fallout has cost her two positions.

    What we know:

Ricardo Fosado, a U.S. Navy veteran, recorded the interaction Tuesday night during Game 2 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS).

From the get-go, Fosado said he knew he was in “enemy territory.” In case he didn’t – a lead-off home run confirmed that.

    The backstory:

“You know, cheering and putting it in my face, ‘yeah,’ that they scored, because I’m the only Dodger fan there,” he said.

It’s what happened later that caught him by surprise.

“They suddenly become very silent, because we’re winning,” Fosado said. “And I become loud and cheerful, because the Dodgers are winning.”

The video shows a Brewers fan then shouting at him.

When Fosado replied, the fan shot back: “You know what, let’s call ICE.”

Fosado responded: “Call ICE. Call ICE. I’m a U.S. citizen, war veteran, baby girl. War veteran, two wars. ICE is not gonna do nothing to me. Good luck.”

Via savagecycles87 and rrfosadorr on Instagram

He said the remark didn’t fully sink in until later.

“…Led it out of baseball and took it out of the cheering into some more personal, the personal level. Showed where her heart is, I believe. She showed us what she really thinks,” Fosado said.

    Dig deeper:

FOX6 identified the woman as Shannon Kobylarczyk.

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin confirmed she resigned from its board effective immediately.

The State Bar of Wisconsin listed her as an attorney for ManpowerGroup, which later commented she was no longer employed following an internal investigation.

    ManpowerGroup provided the following statement:

“As soon as we became aware of this video the individual was placed on immediate leave and we began an investigation. As a result of this process, the employee is no longer with the organization. We remain committed to maintaining a culture grounded in respect, integrity, and accountability.”

Fosado said the outcome is what it is.

“Did I wish that on her? Probably not, you know, I don’t really care what happens to her. Whether she gets fired or not, that’s none of my business. But, there’s consequences for people’s actions, you know?” Fosado said.

Fosado said he was ejected in the seventh inning after admitting he swore at the Brewers fan. He has asked the team to refund his tickets.

The Brewers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Los Angeles won Game 2. Game 3 is set for Oct. 16 at Dodger Stadium.

The Source: FOX6 News obtained the viral video and spoke with Ricardo Fosado; a request for comment was also left with the Milwaukee Brewers.

  • JK Rowling’s response to ‘Harry Potter’ vandalism goes viral

    [ad_1]

J.K. Rowling’s response to an act of vandalism against Harry Potter has gone viral online.

Newsweek reached out to Rowling’s representative via email for comment on Thursday.

    Why It Matters

The creator of the Harry Potter series quickly generated widespread discussion among fans and critics alike for her comment. Over the years, the author has been the subject of controversy due to her views on gender identity, and she recently traded barbs with Harry Potter actress Emma Watson.

    What To Know

On Tuesday, social media commentator Ian Miles Cheong posted a video of someone breaking several Harry Potter Milk Chocolate Frogs in a store.

“Breaking all the chocolate frogs to stick it to JK Rowling,” Cheong captioned his post, which racked up more than 906,400 views at the time of publication. “What a well adjusted adult.”

“I’m breaking all the chocolate frogs,” the person in the video tells the camera. It is not known who originally posted the clip.

X user @HazelAppleyard_ later reposted the video, garnering an additional 996,900 views: “He’s breaking all the chocolate frogs to own @jk_rowling. I don’t think this affects her in any way.”

After seeing @HazelAppleyard_’s post, Rowling responded via her official X account: “That’s where you’re wrong. I personally hand pour every single one AND deliver them to shops on my push bike.”

Rowling’s note currently has 508,600 views and 51,000 likes.

According to Jelly Belly’s website, the Harry Potter chocolate is a collectible item. “Harry Potter fans delight! These delicious Chocolate Frogs are modeled after the ones featured in your favorite books and movies about a boy wizard,” a description of the candy reads. “While these frog chocolates won’t come to life and start hopping away from you while you ride the train to Hogwarts, they will provide a delicious treat that you or your kids are sure to love. Each frog is made from milk chocolate and filled with crisped rice for a delightfully crunchy texture. They also come with collectible cards inspired by your favorite Wizarding World characters.”

    What People Are Saying

Watson—who starred as Hermione Granger in eight Harry Potter films between 2001 and 2011—discussed her relationship with Rowling on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast on September 24: “There is just no world in which I could ever cancel her out… It’s not so much what we say or what we believe, it’s how we say it. I just see this world right now where we seem to giving permission to this throwing out of people, or that people are disposable. I will always think that’s wrong. I just believe that no one is disposable. And everyone as far as possible, whatever the conversation is, should and can be treated with, at the very least, dignity and respect.”

Rowling responded to Watson’s comments in a lengthy message shared to X on September 29: “Emma Watson and her co-stars have every right to embrace gender identity ideology. Such beliefs are legally protected, and I wouldn’t want to see any of them threatened with loss of work, or violence, or death, because of them.

“However, Emma and [Daniel Radcliffe] in particular have both made it clear over the last few years that they think our former professional association gives them a particular right—nay, obligation—to critique me and my views in public. Years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokespeople for the world I created.

“Like other people who’ve never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she’s ignorant of how ignorant she is.”

In a separate X post, Rowling said: “She could have contacted me privately any time to say her views had changed, if they have. I’d have been entirely supportive. What she’s chosen to do instead is yet another bit of public brand repositioning, without talking to me, but using me for her purpose. It’s getting old.”

HBO’s Harry Potter television series is slated to premiere in 2027.

  • ‘This was the color of my bathing suit‘: Woman stays at Hilton Garden Inn. Then she realizes she’s been soaking in bleach for 45 minutes

    [ad_1]

Hot tubs are meant to be relaxing and luxurious, but after her experience, Grita Sudziute (@gritasudziute) couldn’t feel any further from relaxed.

In a video clip that has amassed 4,424 views, she asks, “Does anyone know what, like, side effects could happen in the long term after being sat in bleach for 45 minutes?”

She then directed the camera to her bathing suit. The vast majority of it was bleached white, along with patches revealing its original color: baby blue with white flowers.

“It’s white, yellow… I don’t know what you would call it,” she said.

She then went on to explain exactly what happened.

“We were at Hilton Garden, and we’re in the hot tub for about 45 minutes,” she said. And we’re like, ‘This hot tub has a really strong bleach smell,’ but we’re like, ‘Great, it was clean.””

“We all get out of the hot tub, and my friend goes, ‘Why is your bathing suit white? Wasn’t it blue?’

She continued, “Let me remind you of one thing, there were no signs that the hot tub should not be used. And when we came back and told the receptionist, the guys ran to the jacuzzi and put up the sign. They also immediately took a sample of the water, and the other guys started pumping clean water in the jacuzzi, clearly trying to dilute whatever the chemical concentration was there.”

“Thanks, Hilton Garden Inn,” Grita added in the video description. “Our bright blue swimsuits are now white. Jacuzzi or giant bleach bath?”

Grita didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

In the comments section, she told users that, at the time of writing, the jacuzzi is still closed. She also noted that she emailed management, but never heard back from them. “They haven’t even asked us if we’re okay,” she added.

However, commenters were divided over whether the hotel actually did anything wrong.

“Oh, taking a sample and closing it down directly after?” one asked. “Yeah lawsuit for negligence.”

    @gritasudziute “Thanks @HiltonGardenInn ? Our bright blue swimsuits are now white. Jacuzzi or giant bleach bath??” @hilton #hilton #fyp #hotel #hottub #POV ♬ original sound – Grita

“CALL POISON CONTROL,” a second advised. “Go to the ER. Call a lawyer.”

However, a third commenter suggested that the color-changing swimsuit debacle wasn’t uncommon.

“Last time I was at a hotel, the sign above the hot tub said that your wardrobe can change color due to the chemicals in the tub,” one pointed out. “Sorry this actually happened to you!”

“The recommended limit is 30 minutes in a hot tub,” a second advised. “And it’s not bleach the chlorine levels were extremely high. It damaged your swimsuit, but other than some irritation there’s no long term effects.”

    Do hot tubs bleach swimsuits?

According to The Hot Tub Store, it is possible for hot tubs to bleach swimsuits.

However, the site notes that this only happens when the chlorine and bromine levels in the tub are kept “much too high.”

“Your hot tub should never have this high level of chemicals,” the site added. “If the hot tub at your gym or at the hotel has levels of chlorine this high, you might not want to get in.”

On its website, Hot Tub Village also notes that the level of chlorine or bromine in your hot tub should be between 1 and 3 parts per million (ppm).

Hilton didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

  • Meghan Markle and Drew Barrymore mocked on TikTok

    [ad_1]

Meghan Markle’s past interview on The Drew Barrymore Show has been repeatedly spoofed by a TikTok influencer who has gained millions of views across multiple posts.

Michael Pavano has made a series of light-hearted videos sending up an interview Barrymore did with Meghan back in March. Six months on, he is still going viral with new takes on the Duchess of Sussex’s appearance on the popular chat show.

    Why It Matters

Meghan is no stranger to social media criticism nine years after a Kensington Palace spokesman called out online trolls just days after her relationship with Prince Harry first became public knowledge in 2016.

Much of that hostile content has involved gossip, conspiracy theories or simply negative opinions about the duchess.

However, in 2025 she has attracted a new type of online mockery by TikTokers who impersonate celebrities on video.

    What To Know

One of Pavano’s TikTok posts was liked more than 66,000 times and viewed 1.1 million times after sending up the effort Meghan goes to when hosting guests in her Netflix show With Love, Meghan.

In the clip, Pavano impersonated Meghan presenting Barrymore with a jar of Montecito rainwater only to later show Meghan pouring it from a tap.

    Loading tiktok content…

Another video was liked roughly 41,000 times and viewed over 740,000 times and showed Pavano impersonating Barrymore giving Meghan a gift of some flowers, before he enacted Meghan trying to eat them. This appears to be a riff on Meghan’s love of edible flower sprinkles, which she sells on her lifestyle website As Ever.

And it is not only Meghan’s appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. An older post from September 15 has over 134,000 likes and was viewed 2.4 million times. It showed her struggling to open a sea urchin before taking some shop bought sushi and labelling it as “Hand Rolled Garden Sushi.”

    Loading tiktok content…

In the past, Meghan and her supporters have called out dedicated hate accounts that posted almost exclusively about her and often with quite extreme takes, such as that she had faked her pregnancy.

If light hearted parodies like Pavano’s become a regular feature for the duchess they may prove harder for her to deal with, however, as they do not rest on facts that are true or false, but rather riff on perceptions of inauthenticity. He also sends up a whole range of celebrities, not just Meghan.

It is not all bad news for the duchess though as she does have a recent endorsement from Netflix co-chief executive Ted Sarandos.

He told the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast this month: “One thing we learned early with Meghan, she has remarkable influence—remarkable.

“So when we did the [2022] documentary on her and Harry, the trailer, when we ran the trailer announcing it, people, hundreds of people, broke down every frame of the trailer.”

“The $20 shoes that she got from a village that was making these shoes sold out all over the world,” he continued. “And the $1,500 blanket that was on the chair sold out all over the world. She has incredible power and influence. So that for me, it’s like, okay, well how can we enable this to be a more holistic thing. So that’s what that relationship is about.”

    What People Are Saying

One reply to one of Pavano’s videos read “literally thought i was watching The Drew Barrymore Show 😂😂” while another read: “You are a better drew and Meghan than they are.”

    What Happens Next

With Love, Meghan will return for a holiday special in December and in the meantime fans can find the duchess’ produce on her lifestyle website, As Ever.

  • Owners get lonely cat a kitten, plan hilariously backfires

    [ad_1]

Worried that their cat felt lonely, a couple decided to get a kitten to keep her company, but it didn’t exactly go as they planned.

In a viral TikTok video shared in August by @toothlessandfeather, the tabby tuxedo observes the new black kitten from a short distance away, with nothing but disdain in her eyes. “Thinking our cat was lonely and deciding to get a kitten. She hates him,” reads layover text in the clip.

The poster reassures their followers in the caption: “Jokes jokes. They get along great now. But yeah, Feather misses the days of being the baby of the family.”

While some cats love being only pets and aren’t very open to sharing their space, others thrive in the company of another feline.

But how do you know which one applies to your fur-baby? If your cat needs a companion, they will show signs, according to Pet MD experts.

These signs include excessive clinginess, changes in their eating and sleeping habits, unusually destructive behavior, litter-box issues, and a shift in overall energy.

If you do decide to ultimately get your cat a kitten, ensure that you introduce them the right way. Their introduction needs to be slow and gradual, starting with scent exposure before going on to supervised meetings.

Keep interactions short and positive, letting the older cat set the pace. Provide duplicate resources (litter boxes, beds, food bowls) throughout the home to reduce competition and territorial tension.

It is very important that you don’t force contact and you do allow the cats to approach or retreat as they wish. You can read more about introducing kittens to cats here.

    Loading tiktok content…

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 707,000 views and more than 149,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Jes, commented: “We thought our cat was lonely, so we got another. she barely tolerated her, at best. the second cat was desperate for affection from the first cat and was definitely lonely. so, of course, we had to get a third cat for the second and now they’re best friends.”

Zenna said: “Even hate is enrichment. I swear some of these cats enjoy having beef, but it will probably get better!”

Allison wrote: “She might come around! It took my girl cat a minute but now they lovingly tolerate each other all these years later.”

Newsweek reached out to @toothlessandfeather for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.

  • Miss America defends pageant makeup after social media trolls took aim

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

When Cassie Donegan was crowned Miss America, she never imagined her victory would be quickly overshadowed by a wave of criticism targeting her appearance.

Several users online quickly flooded social media with harsh critiques of Donegan’s pageant makeup. They argued that the 28-year-old’s look appeared heavy and harsh under the glaring stage lights. Some even claimed runner-up Sadie Schiermeyer, representing Texas, should have won instead.

Donegan, who represented New York at the competition on Sept. 7 in Orlando, Florida, told Fox News Digital she’s not letting the hateful words get under her skin.

“Everyone has the right to their own opinion, especially in such a public forum like the internet. … Yes, there is that negativity out there, and that is their truth. They are allowed to have that opinion, and I respect that entirely. But I’m surrounded by so much love and so much support and so many people who are holding me up … I’m just not allowing [their negativity] to cloud the really incredible thing that’s happening.”

“I’m able to look at these little girls and say, ‘I am not much different than you are right now, and you are so capable of doing anything you want to do,’” she said. “I want them to believe in themselves, because if they don’t, no one else will. Empowerment really comes from within. And if there’s even a small part of me that brings that spark out of them, then I’ve done my part. That will be something I will be grateful to be a part of.”

Miss America, a glitzy competition, was born from a 1921 Atlantic City beauty contest just a year after women were given the right to vote, the Associated Press reported. Many participants say the organization – a large provider of scholarship assistance to young women – has been life-changing, opening doors for them both personally and professionally.

The organization, one of the nation’s most recognized brands, awards more than $5 million in cash scholarships annually, plus millions more at the national, state and local levels.

That is something that I’ve really tried to [live] by. Their opinion of me is valid because that is their truth, but it doesn’t mean that it’s my opinion of me.

“I was not in a $10,000 gown,” she continued. “My talent outfit was given to me and was sponsored. The makeup I used, some of it came from drugstores. The other part was sponsored by an incredible makeup sponsor.

  • Woman told adopted puppy is a corgi—orders DNA test as she’s not convinced

    [ad_1]

A rescue dog from Michigan has melted hearts online after his owners shared pictures of the pup they describe as the “silliest” mix of breeds they’ve ever seen.

Gina Dufftt, from southeast Michigan, introduced the world to Bowie, a 30-pound, low-to-the-ground rescue with mismatched eyes and a calm, quirky charm, in the Facebook group Dogspotting Society.

Despite being told he’s a corgi mix and just four months old, Bowie displays none of the typical high-energy puppy behavior. Instead, he has quickly become a laid-back, lovable companion.

“We named him Bowie because of his awesome heterochromia,” Dufftt told Newsweek. “We know David Bowie didn’t actually have two different colored eyes, but the effect is there. His name when we adopted him was Mr. Pants, which we loved too—so his full name is officially Mr. Bowie Pants.”

Pictures of Bowie the dog enjoying the backyard at his new home.

    Gina Dufftt

Bowie was adopted through Bottle Babies Rescue, a local foster shelter. The group recently held an adoption event where 18 dogs found their forever homes. “They were wonderful,” Dufftt said.

Although Bowie’s exact breed mix remains a mystery, the family has submitted a DNA test through Embark and hopes to receive results in the coming weeks. “Honestly, we have no idea what his breed is. We were told he was a corgi mix and that’s it,” Dufftt said. “I truly only shared his picture online to get feedback. I had no idea so many people would offer so many great opinions.”

The post has drawn hundreds of comments from dog lovers. Tiffany-Renee Bradner wrote: “A corgi mixed with anything is 1000% adorable.” Others speculated that Bowie could have Old English Sheepdog in his genes, while many simply focused on his cuteness. “I don’t know what else he is besides cute!!!!” said Amber Dezelle.

This isn’t the first time a dog with an unusual breed mix has melted hearts online. Like Kiki, a Belgian Malinois-Aspin mix who was affectionately dubbed by her owner as a “Wish.com corgi,” or Scooby, a 3-year-old golden mountain dog—the name given to a mix of golden retriever and Bernese mountain dog.

For the Dufftt family, Bowie’s arrival came at an especially meaningful time. “He has brought us a lot of joy since we brought him home, having just lost our longtime dog, Dale, a few weeks ago,” Dufftt said. “We are super glad he seems to have touched hearts all over the place.”

  • New mom “so worried” about baby with cane corso—then comes videocall

    [ad_1]

A heartwarming TikTok video has captured the gentle first steps of friendship between a St. Louis family’s cane corso and their newborn baby—long before the pair even met in person.

The clip, posted by Brittany Hogan (@brittanyandjax), has racked up more than 3.3 million views and shows her husband carefully preparing their 145-pound, 5-year-old dog Jax to welcome their new daughter.

While recovering in the hospital after giving birth, Hogan watched via video call as her husband introduced Jax to the baby in a thoughtful, scent-based ritual. The text over the video recorded last year explains the family’s initial concern: “He didn’t like kids at the time, we had no idea how he’d react.”

The American Kennel Club (AKC) says that this breed isn’t the type to befriend every person or canine they encounter. They typically remain aloof toward outsiders, but show unwavering loyalty and a strong protective instinct toward their family.

Two screenshots from the viral video showing Jax sniffing the newborn’s blanket in his owner’s hand and in the bassinet.

    TikTok/@brittanyandjax

During the clip, the husband begins by holding out the newborn’s blanket for Jax to sniff. The dog’s nose twitches as he takes in the unfamiliar scent, clearly aware that something significant has changed. The man then places the blanket in the baby’s bassinet and leaves another one on Jax’s bed, even letting the animal sniff Hogan’s labor gown.

For the next four days—while Hogan and the newborn remained in the hospital—Jax repeatedly returned to the bassinet to inhale the baby’s scent, lingering quietly as if standing guard for the infant’s homecoming.

The video’s heartfelt caption reads: “I remember being so worried about how he would react. He is the most perfect boy. It’s incredible how they just KNOW.”

Viewers around the world have been touched by the cane corso’s instinctive devotion, with many sharing their own experiences of introducing pets to newborns.

In the comments, Hogan reassured a concerned user: “Jax doesn’t like people, dogs or other kids. It will be okay.”

One popular reply with over 60,000 likes captured the sentiment perfectly: “Girl he just don’t like other ppl [people] kids, that’s his kid.”

Another viewer added: “Corso’s are natural guardians and will guard their pack. They are great with children. I have no children and my Corso loves all kids and is so gentle with them.”

How To Introduce Your Dog to Your New Baby

These AKC-recommended tips can make your baby’s first meeting with your beloved pet a calm, positive experience.

    • Stay calm and balanced: Dogs sense your body language and pheromones, so avoid projecting anxiety about their reaction to the baby.
    • Practice relaxed breathing: Work on breathing normally and not holding your breath when canine and child are together.
    • Plan interactions: Map out each dog/child encounter, starting simple and aiming for small, positive successes.
    • Support your dog’s emotional health: Speak with your vet about strategies to ease canine anxiety.
    • Maintain a safe space: Ensure the crate remains a private sanctuary for your dog, off-limits to children.

  • Woman opens Airbnb blinds—can’t cope with what she sees: “Really scared”

    [ad_1]

An Airbnb guest in Kelowna, British Columbia, says she and her friends were left horrified after making an unexpected discovery at the home they were staying in.

When Jade, who did not share her surname, and her friends pulled back the drapes, they discovered something unusual—strands of hair pinned to the walls.

“We noticed the hair as soon as we arrived, which was 11 p.m. on a Thursday evening,” Jade told Newsweek. “It was scary because we were five women alone. At first we were really scared but didn’t really feel we had options to leave since it was so late.”

According to Jade, the host explained that the hair display had been left behind as part of a prank when the owner’s daughter once lived in the home with friends. “If you zoom in you can see they look like faces. It’s a ‘core memory,’ so they didn’t want to take it down,” she said.

Pictures from the viral video where the women shared the unusual Airbnb detail.

    @jadenicole10/TikTok

An Airbnb spokesperson told Newsweek: “Airbnb requires hosts to meet our ground rules on accuracy and cleanliness, and guests can contact us 24/7 in the rare event they encounter an issue. We are in contact with the guest to continue supporting them, and we are taking action to address this with the host.”

Instead of removing the strands, Jade said the hosts offered paper and tape for the group to cover it up themselves. “They offered to give us paper and tape to cover it up but not take it down. I shared the TikTok so I could validate that it was super insane because the host clearly didn’t think so,” she said.

She shared the moment on TikTok where it gained more than 2.3 million views, and people shared their reactions in the comments.

One commenter quipped: “I’d add a lock of my own hair. Confuse whatever serial killer is keeping trophies.”

Another wrote: “Um, Ma’am, is that a trophy wall? I’ve watched too much true crime for this.”

Some users thought the strands resembled small faces with mustaches, pointing to shiny pink dots visible above the hair. Others joked that perhaps past guests had carried on the tradition without the owners realizing.

This isn’t the first time an Airbnb has included something unusual. Earlier this week, a couple shared how they discovered a “hidden” door and “secret” third floor space in their vacation rental.

While in 2024, a viral post shared the chilling note left in an Airbnb in the Appalachian mountains that prompted the poster to say they were “so scared right now.”

  • Woman defies aging fear-mongering by sharing 72 is her “favorite year yet”

    [ad_1]

A 72-year-old woman has gone viral on TikTok after declaring this stage of life her “favorite yet,” delighting viewers with a video that challenges the negative stereotypes around aging gaining traction online.

The clip, shared on September 2 by fashion designer and artist Sigrid Olsen (@beachtobistro), has been viewed more than 996,000 times. It shows Olsen in an aspirational setting aboard a boat, dressed in breezy coastal clothing, surrounded by fresh food and tranquil scenery.

“For all the fear-mongering around aging, I never imagined 72 would be my favorite year yet, and yet, here I am,” an overlaid text read. Her show of pride has been applauded by viewers online; some of whom shared they are used to seeing people as young as 30 being shamed for their age on the platform. Olsen has offered them a fresh perspective.

Olsen, a mother of two, grandmother of three, and stepmother to what she calls “countless more,” told Newsweek she is living life on her own terms. Based in Palmetto, Florida, she spends summers with her partner Mark on their 48-foot offshore yacht in New England.

Sigrid Olsen drinks on her yacht (L); and reads on the deck (R).

    @beachtobistro / @sigridolsen_design

Her career, too, has evolved. After more than 40 years in fashion, Olsen relaunched her self-titled brand independently five years ago.

“All my prints and embroideries are created by me, with pen, brush or block-print, and translated onto fabric by artisans in India,” she said.

She also teaches yoga, leads women’s retreats, and hosts weekly online sharing circles. Olsen credits much of her personal and professional flexibility to her small team at home.

“I would not be able to do this if my business at home was not so well managed by two young ladies, Kelly G. and Jessie S.,” she told Newsweek. “Kelly has revitalized my social media and improved our website exponentially…We are a team, where I film content from my travels and she creates wonderful videos to post on to all my social media outlets, especially to our growing audience on TikTok.”

The enthusiastic reaction to her post, she said, is proof of how badly “positive messaging” around enjoying life in older age is needed.

“We need to hear the true story of what it means to age with grace and gratitude,” she said.

    Redefining Aging

Olsen believes her story resonates because it offers a counterpoint to what she sees as harmful media narratives.

Beauty standards have always been unrealistic in the media, but now we are faced with performative imagery at any given moment that creates anxiety and fosters unkind comparisons,” she said. “It is hard for women these days to feel good about themselves, especially as they age.”

Her mission, she explained, is to encourage “individuality, creativity, healthy living and a connection to nature” for people of all ages.

Older women, she argues, bring something essential to the table that is often overlooked.

“We have hard won wisdom, more self-awareness, heightened compassion, less envy and more sisterhood,” she said. “And life can be filled with a sense of wonder, self-love and quiet satisfaction.”

With her viral clips and career revival, Olsen has reminded thousands of younger viewers online that aging does not have to mean fading away—it can mean stepping into a new, vibrant chapter instead.

  • Man crowned “dog dad of the year” for his method of washing muddy dog

    [ad_1]

Many dog owners know just how difficult it can be to wash a pup—especially when they loathe water—but internet users are obsessed with one man’s ingenious way of getting his canine to shower.

Upon returning home from a camping trip, dog owners Treasure Azuara, 27, and Osmin Azuara, 29, knew they had their work cut out trying to clean their Doberman pincher named Buddah. Treasure, who resides in Utah, told Newsweek that Buddah was “full of mud,” and was in desperate need of a thorough cleanse.

If only getting him to have a bath was quick and simple.

Unfortunately for the couple, Buddah hates baths, showers, and just water in general. The only kind he finds mildly acceptable is the water he drinks—and even that is a stretch.

From left: Osmin Azuara stands in the shower and holds Buddah to wash him off.

    @treasuregrill / TikTok

So, Osmin had to get creative in order to clean all the mud off Buddah.

Indeed, rather than making the dog wash by himself, Osmin stood under the shower head and had to hold Buddah in his arms the entire time. The Doberman pincher certainly didn’t look too pleased about it, but at least he could cling onto his dad while washing off.

“When I walked into the bathroom as I saw them in the shower, I immediately thought to myself, ‘What a good dad.’ I knew I taught him well,” Treasure said.

After seeing how her husband was ridding Buddah of all the mud in his fur, Treasure couldn’t resist capturing a video and sharing it on TikTok (@treasuregrill). Since the clip was posted on September 2, it has gone viral with over 2.7 million views and more than 434,000 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

Writing in the TikTok caption, Treasure joked that she “gasped” when she saw her husband’s unconventional method. Nonetheless, social-media users can’t get enough and they have hailed Osmin’s commitment as a dog dad.

“This is now the way Osmin showers Buddah every time he needs a wash,” Treasure continued.

There is no doubting how much Buddah trusts his human, and this moment was adorable proof of that. In fact, the dog loves to wait by the door for Osmin to return home every day, and always gets so excited when he finally arrives.

The couple, who moved to Utah earlier this year, brought Buddah home shortly after moving in. A Doberman has always been Treasure’s idea of “a dream dog,” and Buddah has finally made that a reality.

In just a matter of days, the TikTok video has generated over 2,000 comments as internet users lauded Osmin’s dog-washing hack.

One comment reads: “Don’t tell my Doberman this is an option.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “The most Doberman thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

A third person replied: “Dog dad of the year.”

One commenter posted: “Great. Now my Great Dane is asking me why I don’t love him that much.”

  • Man shopping for suit can’t believe what wedding guest left in the pocket

    [ad_1]

While shopping for suits, a man from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, found a beige jacket he liked, but what was in its pocket has left internet users in hysterics.

The poster, Zach Carty, told Newsweek that he ended up not buying the suit because it was too small, and partly because he found a wedding speech in the jacket pocket.

In a viral post shared on Reddit on Sunday, under the username u/zachismyname89, Carty holds up the folded piece of paper that he found hidden inside the suit jacket pocket while searching for the tag.

The wedding toast is from two people named Val and Jack, which they wrote for their friend, Tony, and his wedding to his wife Ally.

The toast recounts the friends’ years at college, first jobs in New York, as well as ski trips, traveling and game nights within the friendship group.

A screenshot of the viral video shows the beige suit and the wedding toast hidden inside it.

“Someone bought, used, then returned a suit from H&M, and left their wedding toast in the pocket”, the Reddit caption says.

“I get being tight on money, but an H&M suit is like $100, at least get it dry cleaned first”.

Carty told Newsweek: “I had no idea what it had been through that night at the wedding so I didn’t want to risk getting something used and abused.

“I only stumbled upon it because I was trying to find the size tag for the suit in the pockets since they are hidden in there sometimes.

“Just thought it was funny that someone would cheap out on an already affordable H&M suit just to use it for one day and return it.”

Newsweek reached out to H&M for comment.

While used items may not appeal to all buyers, thrift stores and other second hand retailers are actually big in America. According to a report from Capital One Shopping, the U.S. secondhand market generated an estimated $53 billion in revenue in 2023 alone.

There are over 25,000 resale, consignment, and not-for-profit resale shops in the U.S., and about 16-18 percent of Americans shop at thrift stores each year. Buying from thrift stores saves shoppers an average of $1,760 per year, the report said.

The post quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 3,900 upvotes and 182 comments on the platform.

One user, Siempre_maria, said: “I’m pretty sure my husband left both of our wedding vows in the front pocket of his suit, but it was definitely rented.”

Lois_sanb0rn said: “Now I’m tempted to slip random terrible wedding speeches into formal wear pockets lol.”

While OkCopy4627 added: “Jack got all the good lines.”

  • Bittersweet moment man makes his mother-in-law laugh for the last time

    [ad_1]

A video has captured the bittersweet moment that a man tried to make his dying mother-in-law laugh for one of the last times, resonating with social media users.

In the TikTok clip, Sarah Herrington shared the moment her husband, Josh, attempted to bring a smile to her mom’s face by doing a cartwheel in her hospital room. Herrington spoke to Newsweek about the loving act and what it says about her husband’s kind character.

“Late nights but it’s my mom dying of cancer and my husband trying to make her laugh one more time,” she captioned the video.

    A Husband’s Unwavering Support

Herrington said their lives were turned upside down in August 2024, when her mother went into hospital for blood clots and was eventually diagnosed with cancer that had spread throughout her body. “It all came as a big surprise,” Herrington said, explaining that her mom was given only a few weeks to live.

Faced with the shocking news, the family decided to bring Herrington’s mom home on hospice. Herrington said that she and her family were scared and unsure of what to do—yet in this difficult moment her husband was strong and steady.

“My husband Josh was my rock through this difficult time,” she said. “He was by my side through the whole thing.”

Herrington took a leave of absence from work to care for her mom at home for nine days, until she passed away in the family living room. Her husband’s support was unwavering, as he went on to preach at his mother-in-law’s funeral.

    A Final Laugh

Herrington described her mother as “the best mom and Nana” and said the family was always very close. Herrington and her husband of 26 years were high school sweethearts, and because her parents wouldn’t let them go out, they spent a lot of time at her house. As a result, the bond between mother-in-law and son-in-law was especially strong.

“He and my mom have always been close, and she loved him like he was her own,” Herrington said. “He always liked to do things to make her smile, so when he decided to do a cartwheel in the hospital, she just smiled and shook her head—she was extremely weak and bedridden.”

    Social Media Reacts

The video has garnered more than 1.9 million views and more than 200 comments on TikTok, with users sharing similar memories of their loved-ones’ final days and praising Herrington’s husband.

“i bet in that moment she felt so at peace knowing her baby married the right guy,” one person wrote.

    “He’s a keeper,” another posted.

A third wrote: “& he was hurting so much I’m sure.”

    A Love That Endures

Herrington said she “couldn’t have made it through this past year without Josh.”

“He helps me remember my mom daily,” she said. “We had to sell my childhood home a few months ago—the place where I was brought home from the hospital, grew up, had my first kiss with my now husband and shared so many holidays—and it broke me, but he was there to make me smile and remind me of all the good memories.”

The video is a testament to his deep love for his family; a moment of bittersweet humor and a reminder of how a simple act of love can provide comfort during a time of immense grief. “You will never find a kinder, more generous soul than my husband,” Herrington said.

  • Mom’s make-up keeps disappearing, “shock” as she discovers culprit

    [ad_1]

When mom of two India Collins noticed her favorite makeup products mysteriously disappearing, she wasn’t prepared to discover the unlikely culprit: her toddler.

The 33-year-old mother of two from Mississippi first noticed something was wrong when she couldn’t find her MAC Cosmetics “Chestnut” lipliner. After weeks of missing products, the mystery was solved when she spotted her 2-year-old son sneakily slipping an item into a large decorative vase.

When her husband pulled out the tall decorative sticks from the vase to investigate, the family discovered a hidden stash of makeup carefully collected by their little boy, who clearly had an interest in her cosmetics.

“I was in shock,” Collins told Newsweek. “How long had he been the vase bandit? How did we not notice this was his stash spot? A couple of weeks ago my makeup started going missing. I realized my lipliner was gone and started looking all over the house. Then I saw my son put something in the vase, and when we checked, there was an abundance of my makeup.”

In stitches, Collins decided to share the discovery on TikTok, where the short clip quickly went viral, gaining more than 300,000 views and thousands of amused comments.

Pictures from the video where the mom revealed where her makeup had been missing.

    @indy.cree/TikTok

    Internet reacts

The moment struck a chord with fellow parents who know all too well the mischief toddlers can cause.

“I honestly just wanted to let other parents know you’re not alone in the toddler trenches,” Collins said. “And to keep an eye on your makeup! I never thought it would go viral—it was just a funny little video that snowballed into laughter across TikTok.”

In the comments, parents shared their own hilarious toddler moments. “We lost the remote for days—turns out my daughter did the same thing,” said one commenter.

Another wrote: “Little man just thinks mummy’s already so pretty she doesn’t need makeup.”

While some makeup fanatics sympathized with the loss: “Are those Marc Jacobs liners? I’d cry if I found one missing—they’re discontinued!” said one commenter.

This isn’t the first time toddlers have gone viral for their mischievous tendencies. Last year a one-year-old was caught on camera conducting a “jailbreak” with the family’s golden retriever. While earlier this year a dad caught his twin boys taking part in a hilarious mission to climb onto the couch, with one climbing over the other.

    Why do toddlers hide objects?

At around 18–24 months of age, toddlers generally begin to grasp object permanence—understanding that objects continue to exist even when they are out of sight.

This often leads to an increase in hiding things, because the child knows that the object still exists and can be retrieved later.

In fact, experts say this behavior is an important step in cognitive development, helping lay the groundwork for memory, problem-solving, and more complex cognitive abilities as children grow.

    Sabah, Silverwater

@whatthehaloumi We recently came back from Los Angeles, and found it hard to pay over $30aud for the Hailey Bieber Smoothie at Erewhon 🥤🍓 We just found this dupe at @SABAH in Silverwater and it was so creamy and delicious! We noticed they had a lot of negative google reviews regarding the service but we had a great experience, and the service was welcoming and friendly 😊 (we didn’t disclose we were a blogger either) 📍 @sabah.sydney (ask for the sea moss and strawberry smoothie, it’s $11) #erewhon #erewhondupe #seamoss #strawberry #dupe #smoothie #skinglaze #beiber #haileybieber #haileybiebersmoothie #erewhonmarket #seamossbenefits #fruit #sydney #sydneyfoodie #sydneyfood #sydneyeats #brunch #sydneybrunch #foodie #food #eats #dupealert #brunch #breakfast #sydneylocal #sydneylife ♬ ladyfingers – ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍chop

For a unique twist, check out Sabah in Silverwater, which offers a Strawberry Sea Moss Smoothie. This vibrant option is perfect for those craving a taste of the Erewhon experience with a local flair.

    West End Juice, Various Stockists

West End Juice’s ‘Strawberry Bomb’ superfood smoothie is available at trendy cafes and stores across Australia. It features strawberries, coconut yoghurt, coconut milk, vanilla, and collagen for a refreshing alternative.

Make Your Own Hailey Bieber Smoothie

Those who prefer to DIY can recreate the Erewhon smoothie at home. Source ingredients from organic supermarkets and health food stores like Flannery’s and Harris Farm Market, or shop online through Erewhon or Amazon.

The Erewhon Market website lists the ingredients of this viral smoothie as almond milk, dates, vanilla collagen powder, sea moss, coconut crème, maple syrup, hyaluronic acid, strawberries, avocado, vanilla stevia, and housemade strawberry glaze. These skin-boosting powerhouses are what everyone’s buzzing about, and they’re sure to take any smoothie to Erewhon-level status.

So, while my little LA grocery store adventure was fun, I’m pretty happy knowing I can get my Hailey Bieber smoothie fix right here in Australia – and who knows, maybe we’ll see even more of these dupes popping up around the country.

It’s Official: We’re Getting a Britney Spears Biopic – POPSUGAR Australia

    [ad_1]

Get ready, Britney fans! Our beloved pop icon’s story is headed to the big screen. On August 1, Britney Spears announced that her biopic is officially in the works at Universal Pictures, based on her blockbuster memoir, The Woman In Me. And guess who’s directing? None other than Wicked filmmaker Jon M. Chu, as revealed by The Ankler.

Britney teased the big news on X (formerly Twitter) with a cheeky film camera emoji, saying, “Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt.” She added, “He’s always made my favourite movies… stay tuned.” That’s right, Marc Platt, the producer behind the iconic Legally Blonde franchise, is on board. Platt snagged the rights to Britney’s memoir after a fierce bidding war.

What We Know About Britney Spears’ Biopic So Far

Reports surfaced in November that Hollywood heavyweights like Margot Robbie, Reese Witherspoon and Brad Pitt (Britney’s old crush) all wanted a piece of this project through their production companies.

Major studios like Sony, Warner Bros., Fox, Disney, and Netflix were all vying for the film rights, but Universal came out on top. No surprises there, given the insane success of The Woman In Me. Britney reportedly bagged $15 million for one of the biggest book deals ever. The memoir sold a whopping 1.1 million copies in its first week alone and has hit 2.5 million sales since its October 2023 release, making it one of the best-selling celebrity memoirs in history.

The audiobook, narrated by the fabulous Michelle Williams, broke records too, becoming the fastest-selling audio title in Gallery Books’ history.

Further details, including a release date, are yet to be announced, but stay tuned! We’ll be updating as we know more.
