VINELAND, N.J. — Two football communities in South Jersey are mourning the loss of a young boy and coach after a crash on Thursday evening.

It happened around 5:53 p.m. outside a sports complex in Vineland, New Jersey.

Police say 31-year-old Addiel A. Ortiz, of Millville, New Jersey, was on a motorcycle when he crashed into a Chevy Traverse.

Ortiz and a 9-year-old boy inside the Traverse, who police identified as E.B., were both pronounced dead.

Lauren Beisler, the boy’s mother, who was driving the Traverse, was not injured.

According to the Cape-Atlantic Junior Football League, the crash claimed the life of a Vineland Blitz youth football coach and an Upper Township Youth Football player.

ABC Philadelphia affiliate WPVI has learned that the Vineland Blitz football team was hosting the Upper Township Indians on the night of the crash.

A GoFundMe page identified the boy as Easton Beisler. More than $100,000 has been raised since the fund was started on Friday.

“Our organization and community is grieving the loss of #23, a bright and talented peewee player who touched the hearts of everyone around him. It is with deep sadness that we announce the cancellation of all Upper Township games this weekend,” the Upper Township Indians shared in a statement with WPVI.

Beisler was a fourth grader at Upper Township Primary School. Grief counselors were at the school Friday to assist students and staff.

“Our hearts are heavy as we remember a young life taken too soon, and our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with the family during this incredibly difficult time,” the district said in a statement.

Gandalf Sollenberger, who is on the Vineland Blitz board, told WPVI Ortiz was a football coach of nearly five years, while also working as a state correctional police officer.

Known to players as “Coach Addi,” Sollenberger described Ortiz as a loving father who enjoyed teaching kids on the gridiron in his spare time.

“He served as a state correction police officer for over 10 years at Southern state Correctional Facility and Bayside State Prison. Addiel leaves behind his fiancé Destiny and 4 children,” read a description on the page.

Both football clubs have canceled sporting activities for the weekend, as the towns continue to mourn this tragedy.

PHILADELPHIA — The Kansas City Chiefs have reached dynasty-status. They are now the NFL’s first back-to-back world champions in 19 years, winning their third title in five years.

While the celebration is going strong in Kansas City, there is also a reason to celebrate closer to home.

Fans were also celebrating over in Vineland, New Jersey — the home town of star Kansas City running back Isiah “Pop” Pacheco.

The Vineland High School grad is also a Rutgers grad, so you bet the cheers were loud and proud for “Pops” role in that final winning drive.

He was only drafted two years ago and has already won two Super Bowls. His hometown actually threw him his own Super Bowl Parade last year.

This year, Big Charlie’s Saloon, a Chiefs bar in South Philadelphia, shut down the streets for a block party and the celebration continued inside.

Super Bowl LVIII got off to a rough start with turnovers — some, more costly than others — but the 49ers and Chiefs made up for it in that overtime thriller.

The start of the game was tense for Chiefs fans but their team finally got on the board with a field goal by the end of the first half.

Although Pacheco lost a fumble in the red zone early on, he didn’t let that stop him, ending the night a Super Bowl champ once again.

The Kansas City pulled it out in the end, beating San Francisco 25-22.

Head coach Andy Reid celebrated with a Gatorade bath. He and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes are now halfway to Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, who won six championships in 20 years together with the New England Patriots.
