  • How Much Would You Have If You Put $500 In Bitcoin In 2014 Vs. XRP?

    [ad_1]

XRP and Bitcoin (BTC) were pitted against each other in a recent analysis, with market expert X Finance Bull revealing what early investors could have gained if they had invested $500 into both XRP and BTC in 2014. The analysis compares the performance of both cryptocurrencies over the years, highlighting the factors behind XRP’s growth and sustained momentum.

What $500 In Bitcoin And XRP in 2014 Is Worth Today

A new analysis by X Finance Bull reveals the dramatic growth potential of early investments in Bitcoin and XRP. According to the report, a $500 investment in XRP at the 2014 lows would be worth approximately $255,000 today. He compares XRP’s gains with those of Bitcoin, noting that if investors had bet the same amount in BTC in 2014, their investments would have grown to around $133,000.

These figures suggest that XRP outperformed Bitcoin by more than twice over the same period, delivering a 511-fold return, compared to BTC’s 266-fold gain. During that time, XRP’s performance benefited not only from early, steady adoption and speculative interest but also from the continued development of its underlying payment system.

Over the years, XRP has moved beyond a purely speculative asset, gaining more traction as it evolves into a potential global settlement layer. Sharing similar sentiments, X Finance Bull highlighted how XRP’s infrastructure developments have significantly supported its significant price growth today. He noted that the cryptocurrency has seen major progress in areas such as Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), banking licenses, and enterprise-level adoption.

Notably, XRP Spot ETFs officially launched in November 2025, attracting massive inflows that have significantly boosted demand for XRP among institutional investors. In addition, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has conditionally approved Ripple’s application to establish a national trust bank charter. All of these developments have contributed to XRP’s price growth over the past few months.

In his post, X Finance Bull suggested that investors who held onto their XRP positions through the volatile years “know why they held.” Following the cryptocurrency’s dramatic rally above $3, many investors reaped the rewards of staying invested from its lows and trusting in its potential for future price appreciation.

From 2018 to 2025, XRP struggled with a lawsuit filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). During those years of legal turmoil, many investors continued to hold onto their XRP despite the uncertainty and price stagnancy

Following Ripple’s legal win, XRP surpassed $3 in 2025, marking its first break above that level since 2018. Compared to XRP, Bitcoin has also experienced significant growth in the past few years. After crossing the $100,000 threshold in 2024, BTC continued its surge into 2025, finally hitting a peak above $126,000 in October.

Ethereum ETFs Launch About To Kickstart The Altseason?

    [ad_1]

The long-awaited Ethereum Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are finally live, registering over $100 million in volume in the first 15 minutes. Investors expect to see the launch’s impact on the crypto market, while some market watchers believe ETH ETF’s performance will kickstart the Altcoin season.

Ethereum Spot ETFs Are Officially Live

On Monday, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) gave the final nod to Ethereum spot ETFs, setting the launch date for Tuesday, July 23. After the approval, investors raised the alarm following some online reports.

Per Whale Alert, Grayscale has transferred $1 billion in ETH to Coinbase Institutional. This led many investors to fear that the digital asset manager’s transaction would add selling pressure to the asset and affect its price performance ahead of the launch.

However, ETF expert Eric Balchunas offered some relief to investors after pointing out that Grayscale didn’t move the tokens to dump them. The firm transferred the 292,262 Ethereum “from $ETHE to its mini-me = $ETH.” Balchunas considers it “a new variable in this race that we didn’t have in the btc race.”

The initial numbers have been released now that the highly anticipated products are live. Balchunas shared on X that the Ethereum ETFs saw $112 million in the first 15 minutes of trading. This number increased to $361 million total after 90 minutes.

The Bloomberg expert praised the volume, calling it a “solid showing” regardless of being 20-25% of Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs numbers. Despite the healthy performance, ETH remains hovering between the $3,440 and $3,540 price range.

Are ETH And Altcoins About To Take Off?

Ahead of the launch, some market watchers anticipated that the ETFs’ performance could kickstart an upswing for Altcoins. According to several analysts, the Altcoins chart shows similarities to the 2016-2017 performance, suggesting that the Altseason is “brewing.”

To Crypto Jelle, “Altcoins are still following the traditional bull market preparation playbook.” Per the macro chart, altcoins broke from the accumulation zone and chopped around key support levels during previous cycles.

The “pre-bull market consolidation” was followed by a take-off that propelled cryptocurrency prices to new highs. Jelle pointed out altcoins are currently in the consolidation zone, similar to past cycles. He also suggested a new take-off “shouldn’t take long” after Ethereum ETFs’ launch.

Crypto trader MikyBull also highlighted the similarities between the previous cycles, which suggest that a “huge Altseason is brewing.” To the trader, the recent “fake out” made investors believe that this cycle’s Altseason “has been written off,” but he expects altcoins to “pull a 2017 kind of explosive” rally that follows the same PA path.

The trader considers Ethereum’s price might be positively affected by ETH spot ETFs. This performance will be the primary driver for the “huge rally in the coming months.” Additionally, he set a band price target of $10,000 for ETH.

Other market watchers suggested that investors must remain serene if a price drop occurs. Pseudonym analyst and trader Moustache called for patience as “it’s only a matter of time.” “Ethereum chart looks like it did in the last cycle, just before the Altcoin bull market started,” he added.

As of this writing, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is trading at $3,419, a 1.1% decline in the last 24 hours.

Analyst: Until Bitcoin Retests $61k, The BTC Top Is Not In

    [ad_1]

Despite recent dips in price, Bitcoin is still on track for further gains, according to BitQuant. Based on technical analysis, the analyst predicts that the world’s most valuable coin will likely top out at $61,000, not $50,000, as some analysts have suggested.

Bitcoin Has Room For Growth, May Peak At $61,000

Sharing a screen grab on X, the analyst argues that based on Bitcoin’s history, prices tend to peak once it retests the 2X100 exponential moving average (EMA). So far, prices are lower, trading below $45,000, and the uptrend is valid despite the recent cool-off.

For this reason, BitQuant is confident that the recent drop was a temporary correction. Accordingly, BTC will likely extend gains, breaking above immediate resistance levels at $45,000 and even $50,000 in the short to medium term.

Still, it should be noted that the 2X100 EMA is a technical indicator and may lag. Since the indicator averages past prices, it might not be accurate, showing current events and expectations of prices.

To demonstrate, in the last bear market, Bitcoin prices dipped below the 2X100 EMA as the coin tanked to as low as $16,000 by November 2022. This development wasn’t expected by the community, taking adherents by surprise.

So far, looking at the Bitcoin price action in the daily chart, the path of least resistance is northwards. Though the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was expected to lift prices immediately, BTC unexpectedly crashed.

Bears appear in control, recently forcing prices below a short-term support level. For this reason, the immediate trend aligns with the January 12 bear engulfing bar. Making projections from this formation, BTC may, if bears take charge, drop to $40,000 or lower.

    BTC Demand Surging

Even with this bearish outlook, the encouraging surge of capital to approved spot Bitcoin ETFs is bullish. Investor Fred Krueger notes that in the last five days alone, IBIT, the spot Bitcoin ETF issued by BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, received $1 billion.

Looking at the pace of inflows, not only IBIT but other spot Bitcoin ETFs, Krueger believes BTC is undervalued at spot rates. The investor estimates that spot Bitcoin ETF issuers now hold over 650,000 BTC, up from 619,000 BTC as of January 1. This suggests that institutional investors are increasingly bullish on Bitcoin, and prices, though depressed, might recover going forward.
