Meanwhile, the Alien: Romulus, the latest addition to the Alien franchise is finally releasing.

    Borderlands

    Borderlands is getting the sci-fi action comedy treatment with a live-action film starring Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt and more as characters from the video games. The plot of the film directed by Eli Roth follows Lilith and her team going up against alien monsters and bandits across the dystopian world of Pandora.

    It Ends with Us

    Directed by Justin Baldoni, It Ends with Us is based on the 2016 novel of the same name by author Colleen Hoover.     Alien: Romulus

    The seventh instalment of the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus is releasing this month. Starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux and more, the film is directed by Fede Alvarez. The plot is set between the events of the 1979 film Alien and the 1986 film Aliens. The film will follow a group of space colonists who come across a terrifying life form in space.

    The Crow

    Bill Skarsgard stars in the upcoming superhero movie based on the 1989 comic book series of the same name by James O’Barr. The film is about a musician, Eric Draven, who is killed by a gang along with his fiance. He gets his revenge when he’s resurrected. The role of Eric was played by Bruce Lee’s son Brandon Bruce Lee who sadly passed away after a firearm malfunction left him seriously wounded.

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the sci-fi action horror film Meg 2: The Trench, the supernatural horror film The Last Voyage of the Demeter, the biographical sports film Gran Turismo, and Blue Beetle were all released in August 2023.

    In September 2023, a number of films will be released, including two horror stories from major franchises, the third instalment in an action film series, the return of the Portokalos family, a new Hercule Poirot adventure, the latest mission from the Expendables team, and more. Take a look:

    The Equalizer 3 – September 1

    The Equalizer 3 is the third and final instalment in the Equalizer trilogy, directed by Antoine Fuqua. In The Equalizer 3, retired US Marine and former DIA officer Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) returns to Southern Italy to escape his past. However, he discovers that his new friends are under the control of the Sicilian Mafia, and when things get really bad, McCall unleashes his past self to protect his friends. Dakota Fanning, Eugenio Mastrandrea, David Denman, Sonia Ben Ammar, and Remo Girone also appear in The Equalizer 3.

    The Nun II is a supernatural horror film directed by Michael Chaves that is the ninth instalment in The Conjuring series. The Nun II follows Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) as she confronts the demonic force Valak at a boarding school in France four years after the events of The Nun. Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell, Bonnie Aarons, and Katelyn Rose also appear in The Nun II.

    My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 – September 8

    Nia Vardalos directed the rom-com My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 reintroduces viewers to the unforgettable Portokalos family, who travel to Greece for a family reunion following the death of Gus, Toula’s (Vardalos) father. Of course, there are twists and turns along the way, but there are also a lot of love and funny moments from the always unpredictable Portokalos family. John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Lainie Kazan, Andrea Martin, Joey Fatone, Gia Carides, and Maria Vacratsis also appear in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3.

    Based on Ben Mezrich’s 2021 book The Antisocial Network, the film stars Paul Dano as Keith Gill, a guy who decided to invest his entire life savings in GameStop stock and then post about it on Reddit. This set off a chain reaction for the ages.

    A Haunting in Venice – September 15

    A Haunting in Venice is a supernatural mystery thriller directed by Kenneth Branagh that is based on Agatha Christie’s 1969 novel Halloween Party. It is the third instalment in Branagh’s Hercule Poirot film series. A Haunting in Venice is set in post-World War II Venice and follows Poirot (Branagh), who is now retired and living in his own exile. Poirot reluctantly agrees to attend a séance, and when one of the attendees is murdered, it’s up to him to figure out who did it. Kyle Allen, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Dornan, Camille Cottin, Tina Fey, and Emma Laird also appear in A Haunting in Venice.

    The Expendables 4 – September 22
    Scott Waugh directed the action film Expend4bles (also known as The Expendables 4). The Expendables team has returned and has been tasked with preventing Suarto Rahmat (Iko Uwais), the leader of a terrorist organisation, from smuggling nuclear warheads that will spark a conflict between Russia and the United States. Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone return in Expend4bles, and are joined by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Jacob Scipio, and Andy Garcia. Expend4bles, like the other films in the Expendables series, is rated R.

    Spy Kids: Armageddon- September 22

    Robert Rodriguez reboots the Spy Kids franchise with a new generation. In this family-friendly OTT reboot, when the children of legendary spies inadvertently aid a tech-savvy villain, they step up to save the world.

    Flora and Son- September 29

    This heartwarming film from the director of Once explores the bond between a single mother and her rebellious son, who find solace and transformation through music. This emotional journey, starring Eve Hewson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

    The Creator – September 29

    Gareth Edwards directs The Creator, a sci-fi action thriller. The Creator follows Joshua (John David Washington), an ex-special forces agent who is grieving the disappearance of his wife in a future where humans and artificial intelligence forces are at war. Joshua is hired to track down and assassinate the Creator, the architect of an advanced AI who created a mysterious weapon capable of ending war and humanity itself. However, Joshua and his team discover that this lethal weapon is an artificial intelligence disguised as a young child. Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Allison Janney, and Sturgill Simpson also appear in The Creator.

    Saw X, directed by Kevin Greutert, is a horror film that serves as a direct sequel to Saw and a prequel to Saw II. As a result, Saw X reintroduces viewers to John Kramer (Tobin Bell), who travels to México for a risky and experimental medical procedure in order to find a cure for his cancer. Unfortunately, the entire operation turns out to be a scam, so Kramer sees an opportunity to continue his work while making the scammers pay for their actions. Shawnee Smith (returning as Amanda Young), Synnve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, and Michael Beach also appear in Saw X.

    PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie- September 29

    After a meteor strikes Adventure City, the PAW Patrol pups magically gain superpowers. However, things go wrong when Humdinger and a mad scientist steal their powers and transform themselves into supervillains.
