Minnesota Vikings fourth-round draft pick & rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson died after a fatal car accident in Maryland.

Tragedy has struck the football families of Alabama, Oregon, and the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. Vikings rookie CB Khyree Jackson was killed over the weekend in a fatal car crash. According to Maryland State Police, the “triple fatal crash” claimed the lives of Isaiah Hazel, 23, of Upper Marlboro, Khyree Jackson, 24, of Waldorf and Anthony Lytton, Jr., 24, of Upper Marlboro. All three victims were in a Dodge Charger around 3:14 a.m. on July 6th when a silver Infiniti attempted to change lanes at a high rate of speed. However, the Infiniti reportedly struck the Charger and collided with a Chevrolet Impala. The accident occurred on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue in Prince George’s County.

“I am absolutely crushed by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him,” Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell shared in a statement on social media.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell took to social media to release a statement on Jackon’s passing. In the statement, he spoke to Khyree’s impact on the team in just a short time.

“In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him,” he added. “I am at a loss for words. My heart goes out to Khyree’s family, friends, teammates and coaches.”

Prayers go out to his family and friends Khyree had so much life left and it was seemingly taken due to someone else’s carelessness. Everyone took to social media to share their stories about Khyree who seemed to leave an impact everywhere he went.

  • The University of Alabama and Valworx Announce Partnership for Experimental Rocket Project

The University of Alabama and Valworx Announce Partnership for Experimental Rocket Project

    [ad_1]

Valworx, Inc, a leading supplier of actuated valves and controls, has partnered with the Alabama Rocketry Association (ARA) to supply actuated valves as part of ARA’s entry into the Friends of Amateur Rocketry Dollar Per Foot competition.

ARA’s Liquids program began work on its kerosene and liquid oxygen fueled bipropellant rocket engine in 2021. The team successfully executed the first static hot fire test of a liquid-fueled engine at the University of Alabama and is now performing qualification testing to validate the flight readiness of the engine. When the team members decided to make upgrades to their test stand propellant management system, they turned to Valworx’s air actuated stainless steel ball valves.

“We’re working with high pressures, high flows, and a variety of fluids, and Valworx valves offer high performance under the demanding conditions of our system,” says Aidan Moncelle, Project Manager of the team. “Air actuation allows us to safely run operations remotely and autonomously.”

“Valworx is excited to play a part in supporting the next generation of aerospace leaders and we wish them much success,” said Kurt Naas, President of Valworx.

The engine will eventually be integrated into a rocket that ARA will launch as part of the Friends of Amateur Rocketry Dollar Per Foot competition in Mojave, California.

    About the Alabama Rocketry Association:

Alabama men’s basketball star Brandon Miller declares for NBA Draft, per reports | CNN

    CNN
     —

University of Alabama men’s basketball star Brandon Miller has declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 20-year-old freshman forward Miller is considered one of the top prospects in this year’s draft class. Miller averaged 18.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in 37 games played.

Miller said he thanks “God, my family, my fans and all the coaches at the University of Alabama,” in a statement to ESPN.

Miller helped lead the Crimson Tide to a 31-6 record and the top overall seed in the men’s NCAA tournament. Miller, playing through an injury, struggled in the tournament and Alabama would go on to lose in the Sweet 16 to San Diego State.

CNN has reached out to the Alabama athletic department for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The embattled star did not miss a game for the Crimson Tide this season, despite a fatal shooting near campus which the school said he is a “cooperative witness” in.

A law enforcement officer testified that another man had texted Miller to bring the man’s gun to the scene, where Jamea Jonae Harris was shot dead in January, according to CNN affiliate WBMA.

Two men have been charged with murder.

Miller has not been charged with any crime.

The Alabama athletic department said in February that Miller is “not considered a suspect … only a cooperative witness” in the murder case.

The 2023 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
