While discounts for Draknek and Friends games aren’t so rare, a 10th anniversary sale has gone live with discounts on all platforms. I’m a big fan of Draknek’s puzzlers like A Monster’s Expedition ($7.99) which was one of the best games on Apple Arcade before it left the service to see a standalone release on iOS. If you’ve not played it yet on any platform, read my glowing Switch review of A Monster’s Expedition here. This is the second discount the game has seen on iOS since launching as a premium release. Watch the gameplay trailer below:

The full list of Draknek iOS game discounts on the App Store is below:

You can check all the game deals from Draknek and Friends here on Android, here on Steam, here on itch.io, here on Nintendo Switch, and here on PS5/PS4. If you’re new to the developer’s games, check out our forum thread for A Monster’s Expedition here for more impressions around the original Apple Arcade release. You can also head over to the official website for information about the game on other platforms and more. Have you played A Monster’s Expedition before on any platform or any of the other Draknek games and will you be buying any of them with this 10th anniversary sale?

‘Wreckfest’ for iOS and Android Is Down to Just $0.99 for a Limited Time – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

HandyGames’ excellent mobile version of Bugbear’s demolition derby-style racer Wreckfest ($0.99) was always worth it on mobile, but it has gotten even better post-launch with updates. Today however, it is down to just $0.99 for a limited time on both iOS and Android. The usual price is $9.99 so this really is beyond worth it, and a perfect time to grab it if you were on the fence. Wreckfest supports 120hz on compatible devices, Apple TV support, and more. I already bought the game before, but this is something you need to get for sure, and one of HandyGames’ better releases. Watch the Wreckfest mobile trailer below:

    [ad_1]

After a bit of a break, we had two new ACA NeoGeo series over the last few weeks. The last game I wrote about was KOF 98 ACA NeoGeo from SNK and Hamster. Read Shaun’s review of it here. Today, SNK’s action game Metal Slug 3 ($3.99) has released on iOS and Android as the newest ACA NeoGeo series release. This is the second version of the game as Metal Slug 3 is already on iOS here. Metal Slug 3 debuted in 2000, and it is the 4th game in the series despite the name. It features four characters, new Slugs like the Drill Slug, and more. Check out our forum thread for Metal Slug 3 here. Blazing Star ACA NeoGeo also recently hit iOS and Android. Read about it here.

You can buy Metal Slug 3 ACA NeoGeo on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. As with prior releases on mobile, this costs half of what it does on consoles at $3.99. If you aren’t sure if this one is for you, I’d recommend going with one of the games Shaun recommended in his best games list. If you’ve not played an SNK re-release from Hamster you can read Shaun’s article here covering the 10 best games in the series on mobile.

Shaun has reviewed most of the releases so far in the ACA NeoGeo series on iOS. Check out his older reviews for Sengoku 2 here, Top Hunter Roddy & Cathy here, Samurai Shodown IV here, Alpha Mission II here, Metal Slug 5 here, Shock Troopers here, NAM-1975 here, ZED BLADE here, PUZZLED here, The King of Fighters 2002 here, Big Tournament Golf here, King of the Monsters here, Last Resort here, Aero Fighters 2 here, Burning Fight here, Robo Army here, Mutation Nation here, Twinkle Star Sprites here, Aero Fighters 3 here, Prehistoric Isle 2 here, Sengoku 3 here, Samurai Shodown III here, Ghost Pilots here, Stakes Winner here, Baseball Stars Professional here, Top Players Golf here, Ninja Combat here, Riding Hero here, Savage Reign here, and The Super Spy here. Pre-orders are now live here for Resident Evil 4 Remake on Apple platforms. The current price point for the game unlock and DLC have been revealed, but it is unclear if Capcom has a launch discount planned or not. Since these are in app purchases, Capcom might reveal a discount closer to or at launch. The full Resident Evil 4 Remake game unlock is currently priced at $59.99 with the extra DLC pack (to upgrade to Deluxe) costing $19.99. A price point for Separate Ways on Apple platforms hasn’t been announced, but it is likely $9.99 like the other platforms. The current date on the App Store page is a placeholder. ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ Live-Action Feature Pushed Due To Actors Strike

    [ad_1]

More theatrical release date changes due to the actors strike which is clocking 113 days, however, the good news is that it doesn’t impact 2024. Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s live action take of animated movie How to Train Your Dragon goes from March 14, 2025 to Friday, June 13, 2025.

Uni had the latter date already on hold on the calendar.

Any rivals out there, March 14, 2025 is now empty of any wide entries. How to Train Your Dragon‘s new date currently has an untitled Pixar movie on it.

The new live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie is written and directed by 3x Academy Award nominee Dean DeBlois, who has written and directed the entire Dragon trilogy based on the best-selling books series by Cressida Cowell. The live-action film will be produced by 3x Oscar nominee Marc Platt (La La LandBridge of Spies), DeBlois and Emmy winner Adam Siegel (2 GunsDrive). The trio of Dragon movies have grossed more than $1.6 billion worldwide and nabbed four Oscar noms and a Golden Globe win for How to Train Your Dragon 2.

How to Train Your Dragon follows a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons and becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself. The young lad learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.

The studio also announced that it has an untitled event movie going on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

There are several untitled holds by major studios across the 2024 calendar. It has yet to be seen if those holds are real or whether they’re just temporary placeholders which will in and of themselves be moved.

The Gorgeous ‘Art of Rally’ Is Coming to iOS and Android as a Premium Release Next Month Through Noodlecake Games – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

A friend of mine who I trust on all things relating to racing games praised Funselektor’s Art of Rally () quite a bit for its console release. Art of Rally is currently available on all consoles and PC platforms, and while I haven’t played it yet, I do know it was quite a bit of a mess of Nintendo Switch. Today, the excellent Noodlecake Games has announced that it is bringing Funselektor’s Art of Rally to mobile as a premium release next month. The gameplay trailer for the mobile version looks great, and it is shaping up to be the best portable version. I know that’s a low bar given how bad the Switch port was, but this premium port might be one of the better mobile conversions if it delivers when it arrives next month. It will be discounted by 40% if you pre-order it before launch. Watch the Art of Rally mobile trailer below:

Art of Rally is currently listed for December 14th release on the App Store. If you’d like to try out the top-down and stylish racing game, you can pre-order Art of Rally on the App Store for iOS here for $4.99. Pre-registrations are currently live on Google Play for Android here for it. Check out the official Art of Rally website here. You can grab it on Steam here as well. I’m very tempted to grab it on Steam and Switch for a nice comparison with the iOS version that I want to review. Either way, I’m looking forward to hopefully a great portable version of Art of Rally next month. Have you played Art of Rally on any platform yet?

Gameloft’s Disney-themed kart racer Disney Speedstorm () hit PC and console a while ago, and recently began pre-registrations for its global launch on mobile. I played the Disney Speedstorm Early Access launch version on both Switch and Steam Deck, and liked a lot of aspects, while hoping some would improve. Read my early access review of the game here. Today, the official Twitter account for Disney Speedstorm confirmed that the mobile soft launch version will support cross-save with the PC and console version. Once you link your accounts, you will need to select which progress and content to keep before progressing. I’m glad cross-save is making it in before the global mobile launch. Watch the trailer for the game below:

If you’ve not played the game on any platform yet, it is a free to play kart racer with Disney and Pixar characters and worlds. If you’d like to try out the soft launch, here’s the Disney Speedstorm soft launch App Store link. You can pre-register for it on Google Play for Android worldwide here and pre-order it on the App Store here (same link as the soft launch). On Steam and consoles, Disney Speedstorm is available now. The mobile version is free to play with various in app purchase sets of tokens. Have you played Disney Speedstorm on any platform before and will you be trying it on mobile when it does release?

  • Jyuratodus, Legiana, Carpenterbugs and Monster Bone+ Quests, and More – TouchArcade

Jyuratodus, Legiana, Carpenterbugs and Monster Bone+ Quests, and More – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Niantic and Capcom have just revealed November 2023’s upcoming events, and while there are some expected and boring ones, the Qualily quests for important crafting materials is the first time I’d recommend actually doing these quests if you can. November 2023 follows the recently-ended Monster Hunter Now (Free) Halloween Pumpkin Hunt event that was not great. Beginning this Friday at 5 PM (local time), the Jyuratodus weekend begins with an increased appearance rate in the Swamp for all hunters HR 11 and higher. Monsters in all habitats will re-appear in shorter intervals as well.

Qualily’s Special Quests begin on November 10th at 5 PM until November 12th at 4 PM featuring time-limited quests for HR 11 and above hunters to earn Carpenterbugs, Monster Bone+, and Zenny. These are super important materials so I’d recommend doing the quests if you can. Then the Legiana weekend begins on November 17th (5 PM to 8 PM) until November 19th (1 PM to 4 PM) with November 18th having the event from 1 PM to 4 PM as well. The final event of November 2023 for Monster Hunter Now is the “Roar of the Desert: Diablos”. This will see Black Diablos return all weekend with a Hunter Medal and more rewards. The event goes on from November 20th until November 26th. During this, both Diablos and Black Diablos will appear more frequently in Desert Habitats for all hunters at HR11 and higher with all monsters re-appearing in shorter intervals.

If you are planning to start playing the game, I put together some tips and tricks for the game, details on the weapons, special skills, the current monsters list, my wishlist for future update monsters, and more. You can grab Monster Hunter Now on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. The in app purchases include different sets of gems and upgrades. Check out the official website here. What do you think of Monster Hunter Now if you’ve been playing it so far on iOS and Android?

Following yesterday’s Resident Evil Village (Free) launch from Capcom on the iPhone 15 Pro series and supported iPad models, MrMacRight on YouTube who does amazing technical analysis videos for games on Apple hardware, has done one on the newly released port just like with Wreckfest and other graphically intensive ports on the platform. This video goes over the various graphics options, presets, and how the iPhone 15 Pro handles Resident Evil Village in different parts of the game. He says there will be another video covering the game on iPads, and I’ll likely update this story when that video goes up as well.
