    The hit Disney comedy series Wizards of Waverly Place is getting a sequel series, set to feature original stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie in guest roles.

    According to a recent report from Deadline, Disney Branded Television has ordered a pilot for a follow-up series, which will also be executive-produced by Gomez and Henrie. Gomez and Henrie will be appearing in the series in guest roles, where they’ll reprise their original roles as Alex and Justin Russo, respectively. Alongside Gomez and Henrie, the new series will also star Janice LeAnn Brown (Disney’s Just Roll with It), Alkaio Thiele (Call Me Kat), and Mimi Gianopulos (American Princess).

    The new pilot will be written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who were also the duo behind the Disney Channel comedy spin-off Raven’s Home, which is based on the hit Disney sitcom That’s So Raven.

    What is the new series about?

    Deadline’s report notes that the new pilot will focus on a “mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife and two sons. But he gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard in need of training shows up at his door… and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World.”

    Wizards of Waverly Place was a fantasy teen sitcom that originally aired on the Disney Channel for four seasons between 2007 and 2012. The series followed Selena Gomez’s Alex Russo, a teenage wizard living in New York City and training their magical powers alongside her siblings Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin).

    The series was one of the most popular comedies to air on Disney Channel, with its series finale being the most-watched final episode of any Disney Channel show. The series also helped catapult Selena Gomez into stardom, with the singer and actress taking on more prominent roles following the show’s end in 2012.

    Long before Only Murders in the Building, Selena Gomez became a star as the lead of the Disney Channel series The Wizards of Waverly Place, which proved to be one of the biggest live-action Disney TV series of an era filled with popular live-action Disney TV series. The show, about the adventures of a trio of young wizards in training, lasted for four seasons, plus a TV movie and a reunion special a few years later. It made Gomez a household name — at least in households with young teenagers.

    As they have so many times in the recent past when trying to convince older Disney fans to sign up for their various cable channels or streaming services, Disney is now looking to revive The Wizards of Waverly Place with a new series — with Gomez involved. So is David Henrie, who appeared opposite Gomez on the old show as her brother Justin, a role he will reprise on the new show.

    According to Variety, Gomez is set to guest star in the new Wizards pilot that Disney Channel has ordered, and will executive produce the show as well. Here is the official description of the new Wizards:

    [It] picks up after a mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife (Gianopulos) and two sons (one of whom will be played by Thiele). But he gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard (Brown) in need of training shows up at his door… and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World.

    The full series of The Wizards of Waverly Place, plus the Wizards of Waverly Place TV movie and The Wizards Return TV special, are all currently available on Disney+.

    Nomination task goes wrong

    Team B members used chilli powder to make team A leave. Team A members suffered a lot and especially Mannara was tortured the most. Post the task ended we saw team A members struggling because of the chilli powder while Team B was behind hiding all the masalas so that team A does not get anything.     At night, Munawar found a masala packet and took it in front of Ankita, Vicky and team. But Vicky Jain tried to snatch it away saying that it was his personal masala. Munawar asked him to give the common ration back and he will give this masala back.

    But Vicky did not listen and Ankita also jumped in to fight against her friend, Munawar. Abhishek Kumar and Mannara covered Munawar so that the other team does not take the masala. During this, Ankita, Isha and Ayesha charged at Isha.

    Did Isha Malviya slap Mannara Chopra?

    They passed derogatory comments on her and Isha said things like Mannara wants to be with every boy. Ankita also made a derogatory remark about Mannara sitting on Munawar’s lap. Vicky also spoke about the same. Ankita and Isha showed their hatred towards Mannara through their words and we also saw Isha pushing Mannara after which Ankita said that Mannara deserves this.

    A video has gone viral where we see Isha Malviya slapping Mannara and then pushing her badly. This video has left everyone angry. People want Salman Khan to address this kind of behaviour from Isha. People feel Isha is mannerless.

    The possibility of Ted Season 2 was addressed by creator Seth MacFarlane, who tells TheWrap that a second installment depends on the appetite of the audience.

    MacFarlane, who also voices the titular character, said: “I think we felt after Ted 2 that maybe the appetite for Ted in that forum was not quite as ravenous as it was after the first movie. So I don’t know, there would have to be a reason to do it. There has to be an audience for something like this. You don’t want to just keep rehashing the same character if no one’s watching. I guess there’s a lot of that today anyway, but it’s not really our first order of business, there really has to be an appetite.”

    As for showrunner Brad Walsh, he shed light on where the story could go if Peacock renewed the series. “I think there’s a ton more stories to explore,” Walsh said. “I mean, we have this teenage, going into early 20s young man that is going through all these experiences and also has his family around him. We’ve told, what, seven stories so far? There’s plenty of room to explore and we’d love to explore it.”

    Fellow showrunner Paul Corrigan agreed, saying: “This season is the junior year of high school. You can easily see senior year of high school or the beginnings of college, or what that looks like if it is college or not. I think it’d be great to explore that.”

    What to know about Peacock’s Ted series

    Consisting of seven episodes, the Ted show takes place in the early 1990s. It depicts the early life of the sentient teddy bear toy named Ted, showcasing the teddy bear’s life with John Bennett and his family in Framingham, Massachusetts.

    The Ted cast, which does not include Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and Amanda Seyfried, features Alanna Ubach, Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher, 13 Reasons Why), Max Burkholder (Parenthood), and Scott Grimes (The Orville). Ian McKellen narrates.

    Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen kind of quietly became a fairly solid hit in late 2019 and early 2020, grossing almost $120 million worldwide. (Or maybe it wasn’t quiet but the world was collectively a bit distracted by the events of early 2020.) Either way, the movie made a big enough impression that Netflix decided to give Ritchie the go-ahead on a spinoff TV series, which is now set to premiere on streaming. Ritchie himself created the show and directed the first two episodes.

    While the film version of The Gentlemen starred Michael McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Colin Farrell, Jeremy Strong, Hugh Grant, and Eddie Marsan, a new cast has been assembled for the TV show, headlined by Theo James and also featuring Kaya Scodelario, Giancarlo Esposito, Vinnie Jones, Peter Serafinowicz, and Ray Winstone, who plays “Bobby Glass, a career criminal from the East End of London who founded an industrial cannabis empire.” (Scodelario plays his daughter.)

    The basic concept of the show is the same as the film, though; a tour through the drug world, and its connections to high society in England. Check out the first teaser below:

    Here is the series’ official synopsis:

    THE GENTLEMEN sees Eddie Horniman (Theo James) unexpectedly inherit his father’s sizable country estate – only to discover it’s part of a clandestine cannabis empire. Moreover, many unsavory characters from Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of the operation. Determined to extricate his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game. However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it.

    The Gentlemen television series premieres on Netflix in March 2024.

    Nina Dobrev rose to stardom following her role as Mia Jones in Degrassi: The Next Generation revival TV series. Dobrev reflected on the role, noting how lucky she was and how much of a foundation it was for her.

    Speaking to ComingSoon, Dobrev revealed that she was “very naive” at the time while starring in the show and that she’s able to look back now and realize how lucky she was for the “mini bootcamp” experience in acting.

    “I was very naive and didn’t really realize how lucky I was at the time,” said Dobrev. “But it was kind of like a mini bootcamp in a way. I was so green. I was so new. I really didn’t know what a mark was, or where to stand, or what eyelines were, where to look… how to do anything, really!”

    Dobrev’s time on Degrassi helped form a big foundation for her

    Dobrev also said that her time on the show was big because it taught her “everything” and gave her a great foundation for her future acting career.

    “I learned everything on that show. It taught me and gave me that foundation — and that experience — on set that I needed to later lead a show of my own,” Dobrev said. “I don’t think I would’ve been able to do it or do it as well as I did. I think I would’ve been a lot more overwhelmed if I hadn’t had that prior experience.”

    Dobrev starred in the series from 2006 to 2009 and was a recurring character in Season 6 before becoming a main character for Seasons 7 and 8. Degrassi: The Next Generation was a revival of the Degrassi Junior High series that aired from 1987 to 1989 and from 2001 to 2009.

    Aaron Eckhart appeared in two episodes of Frasier in 2004, a role that quickly became a fan-favorite and taught him an entirely new world of filming.

    Speaking to ComingSoon, Eckhart talked about his experience working on Frasier — where he played Frank, the handsome boyfriend of Charlotte — and how great star Kelsey Grammer was.

    “Thank you very much, I appreciate that. Kelsey — the whole cast, but Kelsey … look, I don’t know that format,” said Eckhart. “It’s a three-camera, you film in front of … I didn’t know any of that existed. I grew up on Happy Days, of course, but it was all new to me, and seeing these guys work the cameras and work the script and everything … I was terrified, and Kelsey and everybody was just so wonderful, and Laura Linney was on that as well. I really got a glimpse into a world that I know nothing about, which is the three-camera television sitcom show. And I have to say, I liked it.”

    Eckhart praised the stars of sitcoms for their professionalism

    Eckhart went on to praise those who work in the world of sitcoms, calling them “absolute professionals” and making things much funnier than they are on the pages.

    ” I remember, one time, I was on a plane with Courteney Cox, and she asked me to help her study an episode of Friends, just read lines with her. I was reading it and, because I’m a huge fan of Friends, I said, ‘Huh, that’s weird,” recalled Eckhart. “It doesn’t seem as funny here as it does when I watch it.’ And she says, ‘Yeah, that’s because of what we do.’ And those guys are just absolute professionals at turning a word up on its end or going down or doing something, and it all just makes sense.

    “I’d never known anything about that world, and I got a glimpse of it on Frasier, because nobody’s better at it than Kelsey Grammer and how smart he was and what he did just to make a laugh, and how exhilarating it was and how it led into the next moment. So it was very educational, and I’m glad I did it.”

    Some of the original Grey’s Anatomy cast are getting the band back together at the 75th Emmy Awards.

    Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson will present during the ceremony. And they’re not the only ones.

    Some of the actors from Sopranos, Ally McBeal, Martin and more will take the stage on Monday night. Here are all the reunions set for the show:

    • Sopranos: Lorraine Bracco and Michael Imperioli (also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor, Drama Series)
    • Martin: Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Carl Anthony Payne II and Tichina Arnold 
    • Ally McBeal: Calista Flockhart, Greg Germann, Peter MacNicol and Gil Bellows
    • SNL Weekend Update: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (also nominated for Outstanding Host, Reality or Competition Program)
    • American Horror Story: Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott
    • Grey’s Anatomy: Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson

    The TV Academy also teased tributes to All In The Family, Cheers, I Love Lucy.

    Additionally, Charlie Puth and will perform with duo The War and Treaty for this year’s “In Memoriam.” Blink-182’s Travis Barker is set to open the show with a performance alongside host Anthony Anderson.

    With his laid-back California accent and affinity for getting stoned in his van, pizza delivery boy Argyle became a fan-favorite when he made his debut in Season 4 of Stranger Things back in 2022.

    So, it was perhaps a surprise to many fans when Argyle’s actor, 29-year-old Eduardo Franco, revealed that his comedic character seemingly won’t be included in the upcoming fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit sci-fi horror series.

    The actor made the revelation while chatting on the Steve Varley Show in early January.

    The interview went live just days after the official Stranger Things X (formerly Twitter) account shared a photo of Season 5’s primary cast as production for the season finally begins.

    Notably, Franco is missing from the photo.

    Why Is Eduardo Franco Not Returning for Season 5 of Stranger Things?

    According to Franco, he was simply never called back to be a part of the show’s final season.

    “It’s nice to hear that there’s some sort of concern or something, you know what I mean? But I never got a phone call, so I think … yeah, I think that’s it,” Franco shared.

    Netflix has yet to confirm Franco’s claim.

    Why Is Argyle Not in Season 5?

    It’s unconfirmed why, exactly, Franco allegedly wasn’t asked to return for Season 5.

    However, it does make some sense that Argyle wouldn’t have a big role to play in the final season of the show, which is said to take place back where it all started: Hawkins.

    Considering Argyle is from California, and a teenager, it wouldn’t make much sense for him to hang around Indiana with his buddy Jonathan Byers for an undisclosed amount of time when he has a job slinging Surfer Boy Pizza pies (and likely a family, and school, and a life of his own) back on the West Coast.

    Plus, some viewers complained that the cast of Stranger Things had become too bloated during last season, with too many side characters. That said, it’s possible showrunners simply wanted to tighten the cast and sharpen their focus to tie up all those loose ends for the series’ big finale.

    When Does Stranger Things Season 5 Come Out?

    The official release date for Stranger Things Season 5 has yet to be revealed.

    Considering the season just began production in January 2024 following delays due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and considering it’s already been two years since Season 4 premiered, it’s likely Season 5 won’t air on Netflix until 2025.

    Season 5 will be the show’s last season and, according to NME, will see the return of Jamie Campbell Bower as series villain Vecna.

    In 2023, showrunners the Duffer Brothers shared some details about the upcoming season to Collider.

    During the interview, the brothers revealed the show’s final season will feature more of an emphasis on Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp.

    “Will’s going to be a big part and focus — is really all I can say of Season 5 — in his journey. We’re starting to see his coming of age, really, which has been challenging for a number of reasons, some of which are supernatural. But you’re starting to see him come into his own,” Matt Duffer teased.

    I never would have predicted Larry David would make more seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm than Seinfeld. I definitely would not have predicted that Curb would have lasted more than twice as many years on TV than Seinfeld. But here we are.

    Sadly, it’s all coming to an end now, with the 12th and final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm just weeks away from premiering on HBO and Max. As for what this last season of Curb is about … I don’t know, man. It’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. Probably Larry will complain about stuff. People will be pissed off at him. He’ll get angry back.     George Carlin may have died over 15 years ago, but an artificial intelligence claims to have resurrected him for a new comedy special that just debuted on YouTube.

    Titled I’m Glad I’m Dead, the special was made by Dudesy, which bills itself as a “comedy AI.”

    “For the next hour,” the YouTube video’s description reads, “I’ll be doing my best George Carlin impersonation just like a human being would. I tried to capture his iconic style to tackle the topics I think the comedy legend would be talking about today. The chaos of the current American political landscape and class system, the influence of reality TV, and the increasing role of technology in society as AI is poised to change humanity forever are just a few of the subjects I cover.”

    You can see the results for this “impersonation” for yourself below. I honestly … did not get very far into it.

    I would not purport to be a George Carlin expert, but I cannot imagine he would have liked this. (Based on this tweet by Carlin’s daughter, my instinct appears justified.)

    According to USA Today, Dudesy “is an AI comedy platform from Mad TV alum Will Sasso and podcaster Chad Kultgen.” I was honestly shocked to hear that a standup comedian was one of the people behind this thing. What sort of standup would be cool with feeding another comic’s ideas into a computer and having it spit out a sound alike comedy special?

    Dudesy previously created an A.I.-generated standup special starring the very-much-still-alive Tom Brady, which resulted in Brady threatening to sue the team behind the thing. After Brady’s lawyers sent Dudesy a cease and desist, per TMZ, they eventually took that video down.

    I’m not sure of the legality surrounding an AI standup special based on a dead person’s likeness and persona. But from a moral perspective, I find the entire thing to be quite gross. Unfortunately, I have a feeling this is the only beginning of this sort of content. It’s the sort of depressing development that you wish George Carlin was still alive to put into the proper, dystopian context.

    The Simpsons creator Matt Groening allegedly received a foot massage from one of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims — and apparently his feet were so “funky” she almost vomited during the ordeal.

    According to The Mirror, in a manuscript for a memoir released alongside the hundreds of legal documents unsealed this past Wednesday (Jan. 3), Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre alleges she was once forced to massage Groening’s feet during a ride on Epstein’s private plane around 1999.

    “On the plane was an unexpected visitor. Matt Groening, the producer of the The Simpsons TV show, was catching a ride with us … I was so excited, as I loved watching his show and acted like a starstruck fan,” Giuffre writes.

    Giuffre alleges in the manuscript:

    I was enjoying our conversation, when Jeffrey insisted that I give Matt a foot massage throughout the duration of the short flight. I never turned down a client but when I saw the shape of his feet, I nearly threw up at the thought of having to touch them. He had yellow crusty toenails that even someone with a chainsaw would’ve had troubles cutting through and then there was the fluffy balls of leftover pieces of sock wedged between the crevices of his sweaty toes. Now, that was the real icing on the cake for me; no way could I attempt this I thought…

    “Then I had an idea. I went to the back of the plane and rinsed a wash cloth in warm soapy water and returned for his dreaded foot massage but not before attempting to clean them first,” she continues.

    In return for her services, “Matt was kind enough to draw me two quick sketches on blank paper from his briefcase of my two favorite characters, Homer and Bart.”

    Giuffre would have been around 16 at the time of the plane ride with Epstein and Groening.

    Giuffre previously spoke about the alleged foot massage in a 2020 tweet.

    In a response to a since-deleted tweet referencing Lisa Simpson from The Simpsons, Giuffre wrote, “Love it!! We should be asking @TheSimpsons #mattgroening if he has any info. He was kind to me and drew me 2 pics whilst on the plane with #Epstein and I had to give his funky feet a massage. To be clear he is not implicated in any improper behavior.”

    According to GOAT, Guiffre’s alleged experience with Groening is bizarrely mirrored in a 2002 Simpsons episode in which a day spa masseuse appears disgusted as she struggles to massage Homer Simpson.

    “Don’t struggle, you’ll only sink faster,” Homer quips to the masseuse in the Season 14 episode.

    It’s unconfirmed if the events on the plane inspired the episode.

    Giuffre alleges she faced years of sexual abuse and coercion while working as a traveling masseuse for Epstein when she was a minor.

    She claims she was first approached by Epstein’s then-partner Ghislaine Maxwell in 2000.

    Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.

    If you’re looking for DVDs and Blu-Rays in 2024, your best buy may come somewhere other than Best Buy! That’s because the retail giant recently confirmed that they will be phasing out their DVD and Blu-Ray sales this year.

    Rumblings had started to surface that Best Buy would be exiting the digital media landscape, with The Digital Bits first reporting in the fall talks that the retailer was planning to make the move. That was soon followed by a statement from Best Buy to Variety that read, “To state the obvious, the way we watch movies and TV shows is much different today than it was decades ago. Making this change gives us more space and opportunity to bring customers new and innovative tech for them to explore, discover and enjoy.”

    It was initially revealed that Best Buy would continue selling movies and TV shows in the physical formats through the end of the 2023 holiday shopping season, but planned on discontinuing sales of DVDs and Blu-Rays in 2024, though video games would still be available in physical formats.

    This would be the latest blow for fans of the DVD and Blu-Ray format, with Netflix recently opting out of continuing their physical DVD service earlier in 2023. But, as Variety reports, retailers such as Walmart, Target and online e-tailer Amazon still continue to carry DVD and Blu-Ray. In addition, Redbox still offers physical discs through their 29,000 DVD rental kiosks.

    As Digital Bits revealed, the Best Buy move appears to have been anticipated by some, as Paramount in particular had begun to shift their Blu-Ray and 4K Steelbook titles from Best Buy to Amazon, and it appears as though other studios will follow suit.

    The Best Buy move comes as the market for digital media continues to shrink. For the first half of 2023, trade organization DEG reported that U.S. physical media revenue dropped 28 percent, down to $754 million after the $1.05 billion the previous year.
