There is a lot to like about Star Wars’ latest series, The Acolyte. It’s presented one of the more complex images of Jedi in history; on this show they are far more flawed and complicated than they’ve typically been shown in the past. There have been some really intriguing mysteries about Mae and Osha and their shared past. And the show has also featured some really fun use of wirework and lightsaber battles as well.
But there’s something that’s holding this show back — and it’s an issue we have encountered on other Disney+Star Wars series. Parts of this show don’t look great. The creature design, the costumes, all that stuff is typically excellent. But the cinematography as a whole doesn’t seem as epic or as rich as it does in Star Wars movies, or even comparable TV shows of this scale, like House of the Dragon.

Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit starrer Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has grabbed everyone’s attention. The show’s recent episodes have been quite interesting. We saw Armaan did not marry Ruhi because he realised his love for Abhira. Ruhi was heartbroken and Dadisa, Vidya slammed Armaan for his decision. He went to Abhira but she did not accept his love. Madhav supported Abhira and asked Armaan to win Abhira’s trust. When Abhira was finally ready Dadisa told her about Armaan and Ruhi’s past that broke her. Abhira decided to leave Armaan forever. Madhave then brought Abhira to the Poddar house but Dadisa asked them to stay in the out house. Armaan and Abhira joint hands to bring Madhav and Vidya close. Things were getting solved and Abhira and Armaan were about to come close but now Ruhi’s case has come up again. Ruhi accidentally hit a man with her car and he was injured. The man’s wife filed a case against Ruhi and asked Abhira to fight it. On the other hand, Ruhi asked Armaan to fight the case for her. Armaan had to say yes because he was guilty of leaving Ruhi during their wedding day.
Abhira asked him not to take it but he did not listen as he feels it is his responsibility. In the upcoming episodes of Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we will see Abhira getting jealous of Abhira fighting the case for Ruhi. Vidya will ask Abhira to fight for her love and not let it go so easily.
Amidst this, Sandeep Rajora and Shruti Rawat have shared a BTS video where we seen the house being decorated and everyone is wearing beautiful outfits as if there is some wedding sequence. It seems Abhira and Armaan are finally getting married again.

Well, in an interview with Instant Bollywood, Payal reacted on Devoleena’s statement about Armaan and his wives – Kritika and Payal. Post eviction, Payal said that Devoleena was criticized after getting married and faced trolls for marrying a Muslim man. She even said that they did not say anything about her life and it is not right for her to comment on their relationship.
This started when Devoleena expressed her point of view about Armaan and his relationship with both his wives and took to X as she tweeted saying, ‘Do you think this is entertainment? This is not entertainment, it’s filth. Don’t make the mistake of taking this lightly because it’s not just a reel, it’s real. I mean, I can’t even understand how anyone can call this shamelessness entertainment. I feel disgusted just hearing about it. Gross. After a popular stint playing a supporting role in the Harley Quinn animated series, Kite Man is getting his own spinoff cartoon series on Max next month. DC’sKite Man: Hell Yeah! will premiere new episodes weekly through September, featuring the continuing adventures of Kite Man and Golden Glider.
Also in July: A new documentary on actress Faye Dunaway, a new season of Hard Knocks following the New York Giants, and Wild Wild Space, a doc about “the celestial land grab happening above our heads.” July also marks the streaming debut of Love Lies Bleeding, one of the best movies of 2024 so far.

The Boys has become one of Prime Video’s signature TV series; it’s garnered thousands of views, and already spawned two different spinoff shows. But all of that would never have happened if the creators’ original plans for the franchise hadn’t fallen through.
Once upon a time, The Boys almost became a trilogy of big-screen movies. The franchise is based on an independent comic by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson, which was published from 2006 to 2012.
Only a few months into the book’s run, a Boys adaptation started to draw interest from Hollywood. A new piece in Rolling Stonereveals that after executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg read The Boys debut issue they first helped bring the material to Sony.
From there, the project was developed at Sony for a full decade before it wound up as The Boys television series (developed by Eric Kripke). In fact, the article claims, “for a while, director Adam McKay was trying to turn The Boys into a trilogy of movies — the first one went as far as a finished screenplay and even demo animatics of scenes — but he wasn’t able to get it greenlighted in a pre-MCU Hollywood.”
It’s sort of wild to imagine The Boys in a world before the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that is how long ago the original comic debuted. And maybe that’s why it took so long for the show to come together; it really made a lot more sense as a response to and a satire of the world of comic book and comic book movies after they moved even further into the mainstream thanks to the MCU and the similar proliferation of DC Comics adaptations in the last few years.
The Boys was recently renewed for a fifth season on Prime Video, which will also be its final batch of episodes.

Sajak, who turned 77 in October, started in radio as a teenager, worked for Armed Forces Radio during the Vietnam War, and then moved into local TV news; he was a weatherman in Los Angeles before he was chosen by Wheel of Fortune creator Merv Griffin to host the series in 1981, replacing Chuck Woolery.
Wheel of Fortune actually originated as a daytime series on NBC, which is the version Woolery hosted before Sajak; the syndicated Wheel launched in the fall of 1983 and has remained an afternoon and early evening fixture there all over the country ever since. (Sajak’s co-host, Vanna White, joined the show in 1982.) A few years ago, Sajak became the longest tenured host in the history of TV game shows, surpassing a record previously held by The Price Is Right host Bob Barker.
Following Sajak’s retirement the new host of the series will be Ryan Seacrest. Vanna White will continue in her role as co-host.

Sometimes, a show features something that truly challenges our suspension of disbelief, and makes us wonder if perhaps one or more characters aren’t actually time travelers.
Netflix’s latest word-of-mouth hit, Baby Reindeer, is now the subject of a legal battle.
A woman who claims to have inspired the popular show’s storyline is now suing Netflix for at tens of millions of dollars in damages, along with a share of the series’ profits, claiming the show defamed her, caused intentional emotional distress, and violated her rights.
Baby Reindeer, which has been viewed by tens of millions of Netflix subscribers to date, was created by and stars Richard Gadd, and was based on his one-man show of the same name as well as actual events in Gadd’s life. Gadd plays Donny, an aspiring comedian who meets a woman named Martha while he’s bartending. Donny’s kindness toward Martha comes back to haunt him when she quickly becomes obsessed with him.
According to Variety, the woman filing the suit, Fiona Harvey, claims that the character of Martha is based on her and that the show’s “lies, malfeasance and utterly reckless misconduct … destroyed her reputation, her character and her life.”
Contrary to a disclaimer at the start of Baby Reindeer calling it a “true story,” Harvey’s complaint alleges that the show is “the biggest lie in television history” and that Harvey has been “defamed by Netflix and Richard Gadd at a magnitude and scale without precedent.”
Gadd did not publicly identify anyone as the inspiration for Martha or Baby Reindeer, but fans of the show identified Harvey based on her social media profile and personal history. She recently appeared on Piers Morgan’s talk show, where she denied stalking Gadd or anyone else, but did concede that, like on the show, she had nicknamed the comedian “Baby Reindeer.”
At that time, she called Baby Reindeer “a work of hyperbole” and said she was considering a lawsuit against Netflix.
As most Star Warse movies and shows do, The Acolytebegins with a text card explaining the basic premise of the series. But there’s something cool about this particular version of this trope. The text is colored blue, a callback to the very first “A long time ago, in a galaxy far away” in the original Star Wars. Television serial Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is set to undergo a major leap by the end of June 2024. For a long time, speculations were rife that the show would either take a 6 or 10-year leap. According to a report in TOI, Bhavika Sharma will also exit Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin before the leap. As of now, media reports state that Sai, Harini, Ishaan’s parents Isha, Shantanu will be retained from the original cast and the rest of the characters will mark their exit from the show. However, the above-mentioned news portal has stated that even Bhavika will leave the show before the leap, and the story will continue with a completely different cast and story. Reacting to her exit speculation from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Bhavika stated to India Forums that she has no idea about the above reports news as the makers haven’t informed her about any such development. Bhavika neither denied the news nor confirmed it, thus worrying the concerns of fans if she too, like Shakti Arora, is leaving the show.
In a recent interview, Shakti Arora stated that the makers of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin didn’t mention the leap to him, and he only got to know about it through articles and speculations. He added that such news is not directly conveyed as it is often confidential. Shakti Arora, however, took the whole thing in the right spirit and wasn’t upset at all.

Launched in 1989, American Gladiators became a staple of syndicated television programming all through the 1990s. Every week, yhe show pitted four competitors — two men and two women — against each other in a series of outlandish athletic contests. They also faced off with the show’s “Gladiators,” buffed out body builders and athletes in outlandish sci-fi costumes. At the end of the episodes, the contestants raced to be the first to survive “The Eliminator.”
The show was like The Running Man with slightly lower stakes and a bit less of a sense of humor. It was great.
In recent years, the creation of the American Gladiators was chronicled in two different documentaries. ESPN made The American Gladiators Documentary, while Netflix had their own miniseries called Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators, which may not have been authorized but did include a lot of contributions former Gladiators, who detailed the highs and lows of working on the show. (Some of their stories were wild.)
Gladiators has been revived once before; after the show was canceled the first time in 1996, it got revived in 2008 with a new cast of characters, updated games, and Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali as the hosts. That version of the series ended after two seasons.

Every ‘Star Trek’ Movie Ranked From Worst to Best

William Shatner appeared in dozens of episode of the original Star Trek, and the animated Star Trek series.He starred in seven Star Trek movies — including Star Trek Generations, where Captain Kirk met his successor as Captain of the Enterprise, Jean-Luc Picard, played by Patrick Stewart. Shatner even wrote several Star Trek novels.
Shatner made the startling omission during “Star Trek: The Captain’s Summit,” a special feature available on Star Trek DVD and Blu-ray collections. Recorded in 2009, the roundtable discussion brought together Shatner and Stewart and their respective first officers, Leonard Nimoy (Commander Spock) and Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker) for a 70-minute chat about the history of the franchise, moderated by Whoopi Goldberg.
At one point in the discussion, the topic turns to the various movies that they all made, including the one Stewart and Shatner made together, Generations. Stewart starts to ask Shatner why he never appeared on The Next Generation TV series, even though several other members of the classic Trek cast like Nimoy, James Doohan, and DeForest Kelley all did guest spots on the show.
“So they never approached you?” Stewart asked.
And then Shatner drops this bomb:
“Patrick,” he says, “ I’m going to admit something to you. You’re my buddy, I love you, we’ve been together many times over the years. We’re really friends, and I’ve never told you this. I’ve never watched your show. I never saw a full episode of The Next Generation.”
The whole room goes quiet for a brief moment. Frakes then jokes that it takes “huge balls” to admit such a thing on camera (on a Star Trek DVD special feature no less).
“Huge balls. Captain’s balls!” Stewart agrees.
Stewart warns Shatner he’s going to invite him over one night to watch an episode. (When Stewart mentions he has 178 to choose from, Shatner is stunned they did so many. “That’s 100 more than we did!” he exclaims.) Shatner then provides his defense for the slight: He doesn’t watch television. He also claimed he’d never seen Boston Legal, a show he starred on for five seasons.
Shatner then concedes there was “some reluctance, buried way deep” to watch the crew that replaced the original Star Trek cast, although he also said he was “newsaholic” who’s constantly watching news and sports instead of fiction shows.
At least one person on the roundtable wasn’t buying it.
“Bill, I love you, you’re my buddy, we’re very close to each other, and you’re lying,” said Nimoy. That got a huge laugh from everyone at the roundtable.

A new tech company wants to offer its users the ability to make their own episodes of shows they watch through the use of AI.

The site is called Showrunner, and it claims that its shows “aren’t like ordinary TV shows” because “they are powered by SIMULATIONS built by Fable Simulation.” Users can supposedly “upload yourself, your friends, your characters to Sim Francisco and use them in shows.”
Here is a teaser of some of the content they are generating.
According to an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Showrunner users “are encouraged to make their own episodes of the shows, the best of which will be included in the catalogue of the series when Showrunner is officially launched.” (You can join a waitlist for subscribers right now.) “Winners” will “get a lump-sum payment, as well as revenue sharing if the show is picked up by a streamer.” I’m not sure what qualifies someone as a “winner” in this situation.
Supposedly users can create scenes with prompts that “range from just a couple of words to over 100” and once the AI creates something, the humans can then “edit the dialogue, shots and flow of scenes.”
I guess there will be some who will find this idea exciting, who want to make their own episodes of TV, but don’t quite no how or where to begin and will see this as an entry point for that. But personally, I don’t want to make my own TV shows, I want to watch TV shows. This sounds like a lot of work, even with AI doing a lot of the heavy lifting. I know fans thinks they could do a better job producing Game of Thrones or Seinfeld or The Simpsons than those in charge but … I am not so sure that is actually true.
