USA Truck Announces New, Improved Owner Operator Program

    Press Release

    May 31, 2022

As USA Truck continues to grow top-line revenue toward its $1 billion goal, it also is committed to improving and strengthening programs along the way. Today, the company announced enhancements for its owner operators that will increase their earning power and put bonus money in their hands faster, among other features.

“This is the best offering I have seen in my 35-year career — USA Truck has one of the best programs available to the independent contractor,” says Blair Ewell, USA Truck’s Senior Vice President of Truckload. “We allow them to operate as a true owner operator within our load board ecosystem. I am excited to see these independent businesspeople participate and succeed with us.”

One of the big changes USA Truck has made in the program is a fast payout in its generous sign-on bonus. For owner operators who join the company now, they will receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments of $5,000 at first dispatch and another $5,000 at 90 days on the job.

“We also have 100% pass through on fuel surcharge on every load plus we have increased our fuel discount by 60% to meet the demand of record high fuel prices. Through our self-dispatch platform, our owner operators pick where they want to run and how they want to run. They are professional drivers who run their own business; they know how to work!” Ewell said of the company’s program that offers the freedom to choose between spot quoted freight and contracted loads when the market fluctuates. “These features ensure they have the independence and professional balance they’re looking for.”

In addition to the sign-on bonus payout and 100% fuel surcharge, highlights of USA Truck’s owner operator program include revenue potential of up to $225,000 or more per year with earnings of $4,500 per week or higher. The company also has increased its monthly safety performance bonus by 2% and offers a $4,000 referral bonus.

USA Truck helps those who want to start a truck driving business with plates, permits, and orientation pay covered up front and no trailer fees or hidden expenses.

Roehl Transport Evolves Driver Compensation, Paying Drivers Even More

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Apr 6, 2022

Roehl Transport has announced a major pay change for the company’s driving teammates. The revolutionary changes will significantly increase company driver pay across Roehl’s National, Regional and Home Daily Fleets – raising driver wages 12-14%.

“Once again, Roehl is innovating and evolving, and these pay plan changes reinforce our commitment to providing the best driving jobs to the best drivers in the industry,” said Tim Norlin, Roehl’s Vice President of Driver Employment. “These pay plans are a fundamental change to how we compensate our driving teammates. The mileage band pay plans feature rates per mile based on the length of haul with activity pay added in,” he continued.

Roehl has a long history of leading the industry – from practical route miles to now paying on address-to-address miles to incentivizing safety. In 2021, Roehl company drivers earned more than $3.5 million in safety incentives, and the company won a fourth President’s Award from the American Trucking Associations (ATA). Roehl was the first truckload carrier to win the award and the only one to win it four times.

“These enhanced pay plans, when combined with our address-to-address mileage calculations, 3 cent accident-free pay and performance bonuses, ensure that Roehl drivers receive some of the highest compensation in the industry. In fact, some drivers will earn $1.64 per mile!” Nolin added.

Long known as the Take Home More, Be Home More carrier, Roehl recently made a profit-sharing contribution of 7% of eligible employee wages – the largest contribution in the company’s history. Roehl has also added hundreds of home daily, home weekly and dedicated truck driving jobs across the company’s dry van, refrigerated, flatbed and curtainside divisions.

    Press Release

    Jan 27, 2022

Roehl Transport will pay company driving teammates more than $3.5 million in safety incentives in 2022. That amount is based on how much the company paid drivers in 2021 after a sweeping increase in accident-free pay.

“At Roehl, safety is synonymous with professionalism,” said CEO Rick Roehl. “Safety is our cornerstone value, and we reward our driving teammates for their professionalism as they drive,” he continued.

Roehl drivers earn accident-free pay when they do not have preventable accidents and complete all assigned training timely. Instead of having to wait to receive a quarterly or other bonus, Roehl drivers earn additional cents per mile for each accident-free mile they drive, as they drive them.

“Our drivers are leaders in safety, productivity and pay,” Rick Roehl added. In 2021, over 90% of Roehl drivers who were eligible for accident-free pay earned it.

As one of the most successful trucking companies in North America, operationalizing safety has also earned Roehl Transport industry recognition, including an unprecedented fourth President’s Award from the American Trucking Associations (ATA). Roehl was the first truckload carrier to win the award and the only one to win it more than once.

Long known as the Take Home More, Be Home More carrier, Roehl has also added hundreds of home daily, home weekly and dedicated truck driving jobs across the company’s dry van, refrigerated, flatbed and curtainside divisions.
