Childish Gambino is postponing the remaining North American dates of his New World Tour. “hey everyone. unfortunately i have to postpone the rest of the north american tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” the rapper wrote on X today. “hold onto your tickets. ALL tickets will be honored for the upcoming dates in north america when they are rescheduled. thanks for the privacy. thanks for the support. thanks for the love.”

Childish Gambino began his tour, in Oklahoma City, on August 11. About two weeks into the tour, he had to cancel a show in Connecticut “due to production issues,” and he had to call off a show in Houston last night “due to illness.” Including the postponed Texas concert, 16 performances are affected by the musician’s apparent health issues.

Donald Glover announced the New World Tour in May, ahead of the release of his “final” Childish Gambino album, Bando Stone and the New World. He was supported on the North American leg of the tour by Willow.

Glover had planned to begin his European shows, with support from Amaarae, on October 31. Pitchfork has reached out to the artist’s representatives for information on the upcoming shows.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have announced a spring 2025 tour of North America. The concerts take place in April and May, and they’ll mark the first time since 2018 that the band has performed in the United States and Canada. (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, like many acts, had to cancel 2020 concerts due to the pandemic.) See the rock group’s tour dates below.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have not gone on tour at all since 2022, but, later this month, they’ll begin a tour of Europe and the United Kingdom. All upcoming shows are in support of new album Wild God.

Joyce Manor are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Never Hungover Again with five special concerts. The shows will take place in December in Anaheim, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Boston, and Chicago. At the shows, Joyce Manor will play the entirety of the 2014 album, which, for many bands, is an exhaustive task; for Joyce Manor, that means 19 minutes. See the tour dates below.

Never Hungover Again was Joyce Manor’s first album for Epitaph Records. They made the album, an upgrade in production quality from their scrappy first two records, with Algernon Cadwallader’s Joe Reinhart. Famously featured on the album cover, alongside the band’s Matt Ebert, is Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan.

Joyce Manor released their latest studio album, 40 oz. to Fresno, in June 2022. Ahead of the anniversary shows, they’ll perform in Brazil with Gouge Away.

During her headlining show in Munich, Germany, last night (August 31), Adele revealed that she’s going on a lengthy “break” following the end of her ongoing residency. “I just need a rest,” the visibly emotional singer said to the crowd while still onstage. “I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.”

Adele continued: “Everyone who’s ever come to any one of my shows ever, thank you so much for coming. I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very fucking good at it and I’ve really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I would ever do. I have 10 shows left after this, back in my residency… but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break… I want to live my new life that I’ve been building. I’ll miss you terribly, but I’ll remember these shows for eternity.”

Saturday night’s Munich concert was originally planned to be the final show of Adele’s tour, but a handful of rescheduled dates means she will now conclude the run with her Las Vegas residency in November. The British singer performed at a custom-built arena in Munich Messe that held 80,000 people and was exclusively created for her special headlining shows there. On social media, Adele called the Munich mini-residency “a bit random, but still fabulous!”

Adele’s fourth and most recent album, 30, came out in 2021. Read about it on “The 50 Best Albums of 2021.”

Leon Bridges is going on tour in support of his recently announced new album, Leon. The Leon Tour begins in October and stretches into November. Supporting Bridges on nearly all dates are Hermanos Gutiérrez. The last U.S. stop, in Fort Worth, will feature direct support from Texas country singer Charley Crockett. “I wanted to bring the magic and connection that made this record to this tour, so I felt it was important to pick the right rooms to play,” Bridges said in a press statement. “I’ll be performing at intimate theaters this run with my incredible band. I’ve got my brothers, Hermanos Gutiérrez, supporting me on tour as well. The tour starts in Austin and ends with a truly epic night in Fort Worth—aka Panther City—joined by my friend and Texas legend, Charley Crockett. Can’t wait to play this record for y’all live! Bridges will release Leon, his follow-up to Gold-Diggers Sound, on October 4.

Jeff Tweedy has announced a U.S. tour, taking in a number of cities where the Wilco frontman rarely performs. Bookended by three-night residencies in Woodstock, New York, and Menlo Park, California, the run is preceded by a pair of separate appearances in Illinois, one in-conversation at the Evanston Folk Festival and the other a solo performance at Navy Pier’s Chicago Live! event. Tweedy released his most recent solo album, 2020’s Love Is the King, in conjunction with his book How to Write One Song and went on a special tour promoting both. The Smile are canceling an August tour of Europe after Jonny Greenwood was recently hospitalized. “A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that needed emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care,” the band shared. “Mercifully he is now out of danger and will soon return home.” See the Smile’s full note, as well as the group’s affected tour dates, below.

The Smile—featuring Greenwood, Thom Yorke, and Tom Skinner—released their second studio album, Wall of Eyes, in January. The trio played shows in support of the album in March and June.

A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that needed emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care. Mercifully he is now out of danger and will soon return home.

We have been instructed by the medical team in charge of Jonny’s care to cancel all engagements until he has had time to make a full recovery. To that end, The Smile tour of Europe in August is cancelled.
