Top 10 Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Enemies We’re Most Excited To Die To

There are a lot of new Shadow of the Erdtree enemies about to bear down on us. With two trailers out and less than a month to go until launch, we haven’t been this hyped to have our teeth kicked in since the original release of FromSoft’s open-world RPG. But who are our most anticipated beatdowns?

Let’s go through our top 10 choices for Shadow of the Erdtree enemies we’re most excited to fight, and most probably, die to. If you’re wondering exactly how long it is until release, be sure to check our Shadow of the Erdtree countdown timer.

That One Snarky Looking Wizard

Look at this guy. Look at his smug face. Is he an enemy? Maybe. Are we going to hate him as much Sellivus? Almost certainly. We can’t be sure that this guy’s going to be down to brawl, but if he is indeed an annoying NPC, there’s no reason you can’t attack him and find out his moveset for yourself. If he is supposed to be an enemy though, it’ll be fascinating to see what kind of sorceries have developed in the Land of Shadows.

Purple Lightning Tree Sentinel

Reskinned enemies aren’t usually something to get too excited about, but we’ll make an exception for the Tree Sentinel style enemy that popped up in the reveal trailer for the Elden Ring DLC. First, that armour looks gorgeous, and style is a critically important part of any good fight. Second, they’re riding a giant boar, suggesting a new mounted moveset and probably more poise than five Havel’s taped to a tower shield. Third, purple lightning. Need we say more?

The Black-Armored Knight

Black and Silver Knights were a staple of the Dark Souls series for good reason. They looked sick, they hit hard, and, at least for DS1, they were usually isolated threats. Fingers crossed that we’re going to get something similar with this towering black-armored knight that’s shown up in (we think) both trailers. If it’s indeed a match for the large armored figures we saw commanding lines of troops during Messmer’s tyranny, that’d imply these guys are going to be veterans of the unsung war. Hopefully, they’ll be deliberate, methodical, and ruthless in a way that’ll channel memories of their spiritual forebears, and put even Banished Knights to shame.

The Spikey Murder Hippo

Since learning that The Crucible and its primordial creatures would seemingly feature as a major part of the backstory and possibly the wider Shadow of the Erdtree story, it started making sense why we’d seen so many bestial incantations in early promotional material. Of the enemies we’ve seen, the spikey hippo looks like it might be one of our favourites. Given its size, it seems likely that this one might be a field boss, or something equivalent. It’ll be fascinating to fight new bestial incantations and moves against a foe this large.

Whatever This Thing Is Supposed To Be

We don’t have a clue where to start with this thing. It’s silver. It’s big. It’s part skeleton, part melted horse. And it’s roaming around an atmospheric cave arena wielding a giant boomerang. This all suggests something a bit more on the experimental side, which is hardly untouched territory for a From Software DLC. It’s certainly got some slight Ancestral Spirit vibes going by its location and slightly ethereal nature. And while those fights weren’t particularly hard, they were memorable for their gorgeous musical scores, hypnotising use of colour, and unique arenas. Hopefully we’ll be able to say some of the same things about whatever this bad children’s drawing brought to life.

The Lion Dancer Beast

We’ve fought a few chimeric beasts in Elden Ring so far. From death crows to Runebears, it rarely ends well for us. Now it looks like we’re going to get something new but familiar with the Lion Dancer Beast. Appearing in both trailers, these long, snaking, multi-part entities seem to possess incredible agility, a ferociously aggressive posture, and plenty of lightning just for good measure. The moveset looks complex and challenging to learn. It even seems to give off some DS1 Chimera vibes. Fingers crossed then that whether it’s a one-off boss or a recurring enemy (hopefully the former), we get a truly impressive display of beastial magic and might.

The Walking Brazier

We’ve already had the Fire Giant, sure, but what about the Giant Fire? These walking braziers have appeared in both the gameplay and story trailers, and we’ve got a pretty good idea of what they are – walking crematoriums.

It would seem that the campaign of extermination carried out by Messmer made extensive use of these monolithic structures to incinerate its victims, making their origin perhaps one of the darkest of any enemy in the game to date. But given their size, their horrific backstory, and their imposing abilities, we’re particularly looking forward to sending the one that’s appeared in the gameplay trailer back to the depths of Hell, or at least a Scarlet Rot Swamp if the former is too inconvenient.

The Scarlet-Robed Dancer

There’s a rich history in FromSoft games of one-off human enemies that know exactly how to remain memorable. Seeing the Scarlet-Robed Dancer fight a player among a field of fluorescent azure flowers certainly scratched a similar itch to the Desert Pyromancer from Dark Souls 3 or Havel from Dark Souls 1.

Wielding twin swords, a flourished moveset, and set to a spectacular visual backdrop, hopefully this fight will set itself apart as a unique and rich encounter. Or, if it turns out this isn’t a lone enemy, hopefully they’ll become one of our favourite enemy types to fight.

The Dude Who Pulls A Sword Out Of His Own Face

It’s difficult for any one character or moment to steal the spotlight in a trailer, especially when you’ve got a main villain to set up for your DLC. For us though, one such character managed one such moment in the gameplay trailer, and it was this skeletal figure, massive barbed sword through his desiccated ribcage.

That’s a pretty metal sight already, but watching him begin to pull it out is the kind of cinematic setup you just know is coming out in a boss cutscene. We know nothing about what fighting him might be like, who he really is (beyond a lordly painting that appears in an earlier shot), what he wants, or why we’re fighting him. To be honest, that just makes it all the more exciting, as some of From Software’s best bosses come out of their body horror lineups. Call it a hunch, but we feel that this is going to end up being a boss fight to remember.

Messmer

Could there really have been any doubt? Elden Ring Shadow of The Erdtree has made one thing abundantly clear: This is Messmer’s circus – we’re just stepping into the ring. Well, maybe also Miquella’s but since we don’t know with certainty whether he’s going to play the role of a villain or not, we’ll stick with the fire-and-serpent-loving empyrean for now. He’s almost certainly a demi-god. He has a lot of fire attacks. He’s got a big spear. He’ll probably have four separate phases to his fight.

Messmer has been set up to be the pinnacle of FromSoft’s boss roster for Shadow of the Erdtree, taking all their experience thus far, lessons learned from the base game, and inspiration for the future. For all those reasons, Messmer is the foe we’re most excited to fight – and almost definitely die to – in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

10 Ways Pocketpair Could Improve Palworld’s Sense of Exploration

Pocketpair’s Palworld is certainly a successful mashup of many different design decisions. Some Arc, some Rust, lots of creature catching Pokemon, but even with all those well-working pieces, the world and exploration itself could be stronger on its own. So, here’s 10 ways Pocketpair could improve Palworld’s sense of exploration.

More Types of Rare Pals

It was a really good call for Pocketpair to launch Palworld with over 100 Pals that also includes legendary Pals. They also deserve some brownie points for having an equivalent to shiny Pokemon with larger lucky Pals. However, while it feels great to find and capture these special glowing Pals, Palworld is the perfect kind of game to introduce even more varied kinds of Pals. Especially when Pal evolution isn’t much of a thing.

Filling the open world with other kinds of lucky Pals that might have different color schemes beyond just being large and that also come with special intrinsic properties seems like a win/win for better exploration.

Wandering NPC Pal Trainers

This is probably one of the most requested features that players want as it harkens back to the old days of Pokemon battles. All where exploring the world would let you encounter NPCs with bits of interesting dialogue and creature team compositions that could cause anxious tension depending on your own team’s lineup. In Palworld, this kind of feature is missing from its open world and really only exists when fighting against the five gym leaders in their towers.

By adding wandering NPC Pal trainers, Palworld exploration could be much more engaging.

New Weather Types That Influence Pals

While Palworld’s day and night cycle is appreciated, there is a distinct lack of weather effects like rain, snow, fog, and others that we, as humans, have come to expect from real life regularly. Knowing that Unreal Engine 5 is more than capable of producing these effects has given me the idea that Pals in the wild could change when weather happens.

For example, it would be neat if during the rain, fire type Pals become easier to catch and fight, while water types are harder to deal with or move faster and attack faster. Bonus points if these weathers are localized to different islands in Palworld’s open world.

Evolving Human Settlements

As you explore Palworld, you may find small human settlements that are either home to a few humans and some merchants, or small camps of enemy human factions. These small human camps in particular allow you to fight the humans and rescue the Pal that they have captured. That said, how much fun would it be for these faction’s camps to slowly increase in size, complexity, and difficulty?

Much like how you and your friends increase your own base, these humans could do the same with theirs, and when you finally raid them, they could have multiple Pals needing rescue or rarer/stronger Pals based on how advanced their camp is.

Alternate/Changing World Bosses

Aside from the few main bosses in Palworld, the open world bosses in Palworld are thankfully varied and plentiful thanks to them being bigger, stronger versions of normal Pals. It was also a nice touch for Pocketpair to let us catch said bosses. So that got me thinking. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to allow for alternate open world bosses based on time of day or weather? Maybe during the night, Chillet and Penking decide to change places.

Alternatively, maybe at night, a Pal boss like Katress could have a color change with added perks and properties. A change like this would only add variety and agency to players from my point of view, because time of day and even weather would be more meaningful other than “Oh, it’s dark now.”

Floating Islands with Difficult Content

An interesting idea for a kind of extra difficult end game content could come in the form of randomly generated floating islands. These sky islands could slowly float above the open world and be reachable by flying pals (or by gliding from tall places). Inside of them could be special temporary, and quite high leveled, Pals, bosses, and even dungeons.

Then, say, after 24 in-game hours, these floating islands would have traveled from one side of the map and disappear. To then be replaced by another new island with its own random encounters. Such a system could help bolster the endgame experience with more engaging difficult encounters that require certain flying Pals.

Rabid Pals that Eat Other Pals and Gain Power

As you play Palworld, you may come across some Pals naturally fighting other Pals, and that can be exciting to witness as you decide whether to just watch or engage and catch both parties. What would be neat is if there were rare spinoff events of this kind of natural interaction where the Pal that wins the fight continues to seek out and fight other Pals. By beating and consuming its opponents, the winning Pal could level, become stronger, gain abilities, perks, and even potentially change color.

As this continues over time, an icon could be added on the map where this cannibalistic Pal becomes a pseudo boss that you can catch. Allowing you to reap the rewards from owning a Pal who’s gained new strength from its rage-induced battles.

Dynamic Trading Routes Between NPC Settlements

The human NPC settlements that I mentioned earlier could be overhauled with some new features that would make sense for Palworld’s world. It makes sense to me to allow for these settlements to ship and trade resources between one another by a caravan system. Pocketpair would likely have to add some more advanced pathing to make this a thing, but such a new feature could create new emergent gameplay that would let players attack or defend these caravans with appropriate repercussions and rewards.

Seeing these trading routes attacked by enemy human factions and groups of wild Pals could help make Palworld’s open world and exploration feel more alive.

Aggressive Gym Leaders that Seek Revenge

Palworld features some fairly interesting boss trainer encounters via towers across the landscape. However, once beaten, there isn’t too much to interact with. So how wild would it be if these trainers decided to occasionally seek you out and your base(s) one you’ve beaten them? Much like how groups of wild Pals and enemy human factions attack your base periodically, these vengeful gym leader bosses could do something similar.

If you’re able to fight off these invading gym leader bosses, maybe you could catch the Pal that they are using and those Pals could have special properties that you can’t get anywhere else.

Dynamic Pal-Protected Zones

Palworld’s expansive and eventually more dynamic open world could also benefit from utilizing the crime system a bit more. Pocketpair could accomplish this by introducing small, but dynamic, zones where friendly human factions guard the pals of that area. If you decide to fight and capture pals in these protected zones then that would be a crime and the humans would fight back.

One reason you might want to do this though, is that the Pals in this area may have a higher chance of being rare or lucky. Or there could be other special Pal spawns that normally don’t happen in that location.

Ultimately, these 10 suggestions would bolster Palworld’s open world and exploration by making the world feel more alive thanks to further mechanics, discoverable emergent gameplay opportunities, and more varied and difficult content.

These are the 10 Most Overrated & Overhyped Games of 2023, Cry More

2023 was admittedly a pretty good time for gaming, but not all of this year’s triple-A titles were worth their price tags. Grab your popcorn and power up your consoles as we embark on a journey through the pixelated pitfalls of the most overrated games of 2023!

Forspoken

Welcome to the enchanting world of Forspoken, where the only magical thing about it is the sheer amount of dedication it must’ve taken to turn all of the most cliché fantasy tropes into a “choose your own adventure” eye-roll. After the first few admittedly entertaining hours of this game, it’s like the developers just gave up and threw in some fancy fireworks to distract you from the fact that the story is as about as exciting as a wizard’s grocery list.

This game plays like a terrible self-insert Wattpad fanfiction. Forspoken boldly goes where every young adult fantasy book has gone before, with a storyline so generic you’ll wonder if they used a Mad Libs template. Its flashy combat and parkour system only just barely make it worth playing, but even they can’t save it from being one of the most overrated games of 2023.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

Why, in an ever-expanding universe teeming with iconic characters, did someone ever think that playing an entire game as Gollum would be a good idea? Who is this game for? What is it even meant to achieve?? Literally who even asked for this game??? I feel like this game might have had some potential if there was any actual demand for it, or if the developers had even tried to take their jobs seriously.

Forget the solid action of previous Middle-earth games, as Gollum invites you to revel in thrilling activities like brutal busywork, uninspired and hair-pulling platforming, and a masterclass in bad stealth mechanics that even Sauron would cringe at. Honestly, I’m baffled that they even felt confident enough to release this bad excuse for a game; the only people I would recommend this game to are the most die-hard, tunnel-vision eccentric Lord of the Rings fans — or maybe Gollum’s therapist.

Redfall

Step into the nightmarish world of Redfall, where even the undead might rise from their graves to ask for a refund! This game, though labeled as a co-op shooter, is more like a haunted house of glitches, awkward AI, and pop-in nightmares that not even garlic could ward off. It’s not just the vampires that suck here — button commands vanish like ghostly apparitions, random NPCs pull their best Houdini acts at the worst of times, and the story scenes are so cheap and overused, they make thrift stores look like luxury boutiques.

Redfall is, without a doubt, one of the most depressingly overhyped games to come out in recent years; plagued with insurmountable glitches, constant bugs, and tired gameplay mechanics, Redfall didn’t stand a chance against the rest of 2023’s major game releases. Not only was Redfall not worth its price tag, it wasn’t worth playing at all.

Final Fantasy XVI

Now this one might be a bit of a controversial choice for this list, but hear me out here. Final Fantasy XVI has absolutely no personality whatsoever; its side quests are unbelievably uninspired, the loot is even worse, and its world exploration is the most unrewarding waste of time I’ve ever seen in an RPG. Not to mention the fact that this game is unbelievably easy to play; the only people who might like this game are kids because it literally takes almost no brainpower to play.

After all, who needs challenging quests and immersive storylines when you can have the thrill of pressing the same buttons repeatedly over and over again without ever breaking a sweat? This game is a fantasy alright, but not the kind you’d ever want to write home about. Final Fantasy XVI — where the only thing that’s final is your patience with uninspiring sidequests and brainless gameplay. If you’ve played the last few entries in the Final Fantasy series, then congratulations, you may as well have already played this one.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is, without a doubt, one of the most overhyped and overpriced games of 2023. Anyone who tries to defend this game is either in complete denial, has never played any other Star Wars game before, or is just super embarrassed about the fat wad of cash they had to hand over just to play it.

Survivor’s PC port especially suffered from numerous technical glitches, rendering the gaming experience near-broken and far from seamless, while the overhyped performance mode failed to impress even the most indifferent of players; it’s even been labeled by many as possibly the worst of its generation. The game’s narrative and NPCs were unimaginative at best and completely uninspired at worst, and its outdoor exploration, puzzles, and combat (all pivotal aspects of any action-adventure title) were deemed similarly lacking.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

Speaking of games that fell far short of the mark, Return to Moria is easily considered by many to be one of the most overhyped, overrated games of 2023 by far. It’s not quite as bad as Gollum, but come on; it’s a barely passable title within the Lord of the Rings franchise, and honestly, I can’t even believe that anyone thought this game was a good idea.

What many LOTR fans might be surprised to know about Return to Moria is that it’s actually barely even a Lord of the Rings game at all; Return to Moria is more like a random survival game that just so happens to take place in a world that’s very loosely based off of J.R.R Tolkien’s works. If you’ve played literally any fantasy survival game within the last decade, then congratulations, you’ve essentially already played Return to Moria.

Crime Boss: Rockay City

Welcome to Crime Boss: Rockay City, where decades-old nostalgia meets present-day regret, and the in-game 90s backdrop feels less like a golden era and more like a cautionary tale of what we all collectively chose to forget. Despite a commendable level of earnestness in its creation, Rockay City’s charm just couldn’t quite mask the overall sloppiness of its design.

Crime Boss: Rockay City just couldn’t quite manage to do itself any justice, no matter how hard it tried. Its outright atrocious voice acting and frustratingly repetitive mission design were enough to scare most of its potential player base away, and its unoriginal single-player storyline and unnecessarily complex co-op mode were enough to drive away the rest. In the end, Crime Boss: Rockay City was its own worst enemy; maybe if the developers had spent a little more time on it and hadn’t hyped it up so much prior to its release, it would have been met with more positive reviews.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Despite high expectations for a next-gen leap into the friendly neighborhood Spiderverse, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 seems to have fallen short of the mark quite spectacularly. For starters, the game’s overall lack of environmental realism is honestly embarrassing for a game made in the 21st century; the game’s “interactable” environments lack any form of destructible elements, hindering player immersion to an unforgivable degree.

Furthermore, its combat, a long-established staple of the Spider-Man experience, has consistently been described as overly repetitive, leaving players longing for a more dynamic and engaging system. Perhaps the most stinging blow of all, however, comes in the form of the game’s narrative, which easily stands as the weakest of Insomniac’s roster of Spider-Man games. In the end, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, while delivering on the web-slinging spectacle, falls short of the expectations set by its predecessors and its promise of next-gen innovation, earning it a top spot among the year’s most overrated releases.

Everybody 1-2-Switch

Have you ever wanted to play a game so devoid of any and all emotion and personality that it legitimately fills you with rage? Well then congratulations, you’ve found your match with Everybody 1-2-Switch! Prepare for the party game apocalypse with this sorry excuse for an entertainment elevator; this game somehow manages to suck any and all joy out of gaming faster than a vacuum in zero gravity.

Everybody 1-2-Switch boasts a tedious catalog of unoriginal party games that are, surprisingly, meant to entertain friends and families. It’s the kind of experience that makes you long for a simpler time when the biggest party game dilemma was choosing Mario Kart characters, not enduring a digital gathering that feels more like purgatory than a celebration.

Diablo IV

Last but not least, we come to Diablo IV, arguably one of the most highly anticipated game releases of 2023. Diablo IV just feels like a slightly worse, reskinned version of Diablo III, and I can’t even believe that the developers at Blizzard can sleep at night with how much they’re charging for it.

Any self-respecting, long-time Diablo fan would agree that Diablo IV’s uninventive gameplay is way too easy, especially when compared to the previous entries in the Diablo game series. The boss battles feel tedious at best, the world bosses are far too easy, and its dungeons are so repetitive and undifferentiated that they all begin to blur together after only a few runs. Overall, it’s an okay game for newcomers to the series, but for veterans of the franchise, it just feels like one big disappointment.

From soulless storylines to maddening mechanics, this year’s disappointments have proven that even in the realm of pixels and polygons, not all that glitters is gold. It’s safe to say that 2023 was a mixed year for gamers. After all, for every Baldurs Gate 3, there was a Walking Dead: Destinies. As we enter a new year, however, it is time to look forward to the games to come. As such here are 10 of the most anticipated games of 2024.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth – January 26th

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the latest title in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios’ long-running Like A Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series. Infinite Wealth is the first game set outside of Japan, taking place in both the city of Yokohama and the island of Hawaii.

The game continues the franchise’s transition into a turn-based combat system first seen in 2020’s Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Infinite Wealth marks the return of that title’s protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, alongside franchise mainstay Kazuma Kiryu. However, with the popular anti-hero suffering from cancer, this could be the end of the road for the Dragon of Dojima.

Expect Like A Dragon’s usual blend of bizarre side missions, twist-filled conspiracies, and wild minigames as Ichiban and Kiryu search for Ichiban’s mother. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is published by SEGA and releases on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on January 26th.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League – February 2nd

Isn’t it crazy that we are getting a Triple-A Suicide Squad game before a big-budget Justice League title? Furthermore Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League sees the team of villains tasked with taking down the Justice League!

This game is a third-person shooter set in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham series, developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. Kill The Justice League is a multiplayer looter shooter with live service elements, not unlike Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers.

Starring DC Comics villains Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark; Kill The Justice League has the quartet facing off against a corrupted Justice League. Brainiac has taken control of Superman, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Batman (voiced by the late Kevin Conroy in his final role), and only Wonder Woman and the Suicide Squad can stop Brainiac’s invasion.

After some delays and a lukewarm reception to marketing, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still a hotly anticipated title that releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on February 2nd, and then 5th March on the Epic Games Store.

At this point Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones is surely in the Development Hell Hall of Fame alongside the likes of Duke Nukem Forever and Dead Island 2. Starting life as an Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag expansion back in 2013, Skull & Bones is a swashbuckling adventure across the Indian Ocean.

Centered on bombastic ship combat, Skull & Bones will see players rise to infamy as they build an empire and become the pirate kingpin. As the scourge of the sea, players will sail and explore from the Coast of Africa to the East Indies with a range of unique ships; battling pirate hunters and the deadly weather to make it to the top.

If Skull & Bones can recapture the fun and sense of adventure in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag then the wait should be worth it. Skull & Bones releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store on February 16th.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth – February 29th

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is the second entry in Square Enix’s bold retelling of the seminal RPG Final Fantasy VII. Rebirth continues the story of 2020’s Final Fantasy VII: Remake as mercenary Cloud Strife and the surviving members of eco-terrorist group Avalanche leave the mega-city of Midgard and journey across the planet Gaia.

Navigating new terrain both literally and narratively, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will explore the game’s altered timeline while delving into Cloud and series antagonist Sephiroth’s shared past. New party members include Red XIII, Yuffie Kisaragi, and Cait Sith; but also Zack Flair.

Zack’s presence in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is one of the remake trilogy’s biggest narrative departures; as he originally died in the prequel game Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII (released in 2007). With his return, long-time fans will be eager to discover how he fits into the new story. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth releases on PlayStation 5 on February 29th.

Alone in the Dark – March 20th

The grandfather of survival horror, the Alone in the Dark franchise was a pioneer of the genre alongside Resident Evil and Silent Hill. However, while those two franchises have flourished in recent years, Alone in the Dark has struggled to maintain the same mainstream recognition. That’s why it is good to witness the series return with a reimagining of the 1992 original.

Developed by Pieces Interactive and published by THQ Nordic, Alone in the Dark stars David Harbour (Stranger Things) as private investigator Edward Carnby, and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) as his employer Emily Hartwood. In this game, the pair journey to Louisiana psychiatric hospital Derceto Manor to find Emily’s missing uncle.

The survival horror genre has been on a good run recently, and here’s hoping Alone in the Dark lives up to its contemporaries. Alone in the Dark releases on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on March 29th.

Princess Peach: Showtime! – March 22nd

Princess Peach: Showtime! gives the titular ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom a chance to take center stage. Attending a theatre production in crisis, Peach assumes several roles to help defeat the wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch.

Princess Peach: Showtime! features a range of gameplay mechanics that see the princess participating in the Sparkle Theatre’s sold-out shows. Peach is equipped with a magic ribbon and the ability to transform into a range of future Super Smash Bros. skins.

Transformations such as Swordfighter Peach and Kung Fu Peach implement combat into the game, while Detective Peach will help her uncover clues to Grape’s plan, and Patisserie Peach which will help the princess… bake her way to victory. Princess Peach: Showtime! releases on Nintendo Switch on March 22nd.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl – Q1 2024

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl has had a rough development as the war in Ukraine forced developer/publisher GSC Game World to pause development and delay the game multiple times.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. stands for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers; and is the term used to describe the men and women exploring the radioactive remains of Chernobyl. This first-person immersive sim shooter is a big cult favorite on PC and the sequel will be the franchise’s console debut when it debuts on Xbox.

Built on Unreal Engine 5, The Heart of Chernobyl tells a non-linear story playable solo or in co-op and has official mod support. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is set for a Quarter 1 release on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

ARK 2 – Late 2024

ARK 2 follows Fast & Furious actor Vin Diesel as Santiago, a primitive hunter on an alien world searching for his daughter Meeka (voiced by Moana‘s Auli’l Cravalho).

Like the first game, ARK: Survival Evolved, ARK 2 is a survival action adventure in which players craft weapons and shelters to survive in a harsh and deadly environment. From killer plants to ferocious dinosaurs, and the local tribe the Aralal, there are many threats for Santiago and the player to overcome.

To help, Studio Wildcard and Grove Street Games have created advanced traversal mechanics, a new upgrade tree, and an emphasis on Souls-like combat. The alien world in ARK 2 is full of new threats and hyper-intelligent dinosaurs to fight and tame. ARK 2 is being built on Unreal Engine 5 targeting a late 2024 release date, on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Little Nightmares III – TBC

Little Nightmares III is the next instalment in Bandai Namco’s atmospheric horror puzzle platformer series. Supermassive Games have taken over development from Tarsier Studios (after working on Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition), for a standalone sequel.

There is a heightened focus on co-op gameplay in Little Nightmares III as players team up with a friend or an AI companion. Playing as Low (the boy in a raven mask) and Alone (the girl with pigtails), players must work together to escape the Spiral, a disturbing, trippy world of ominous shadows and disgusting villains.

While this is a standalone game, it will be interesting to see if Little Nightmares III has any links to previous installments; including the fate of Six and her iconic yellow raincoat. Little Nightmares III has no release date yet beyond 2024 but is set to release on all platforms: PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Star Wars: Outlaws – TBC

Star Wars video games are always hotly anticipated releases and, with Star Wars: Outlaws, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are building the franchise’s first open-world game. The game is set between Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Outlaws allows the player to step foot into the seedy underbelly of a galaxy far, far away as they control Kay Vess, an up-and-coming thief who has gotten on the wrong side of both the Empire and the galaxy’s deadliest crime syndicates. Joining Vess is her salamander-esque pet merqaal Nix, a sneaky animal that can distract guards and steal objects. There is also the droid ND-5 that becomes a bodyguard of sorts for Kay.

Among the planets players will be visiting are Tatooine and its hive of scum and villainy Mos Eisley, criminal haven Kijimi, and a new moon called Toshara. Star Wars: Outlaws should be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2024.

Most anime fans will agree that 2023 was a great year for anime. Tons of new shows were released, and many major titles came and went as the year progressed, like the release of the One Piece live-action and the final episode of Attack on Titan (heartbreaking).

With so much focus on these major titles, however, many of 2023’s other anime were easily overlooked. This article will give those anime the recognition they deserve by focusing on all of the greatest underrated anime of 2023!

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead

Okay, so this one actually got a fair amount of recognition after its initial release. However, because it was released right in the middle of summer, it was majorly overshadowed by tons of other anime releases, making it one of the greatest yet criminally underrated anime of 2023.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is an unconventional zombie apocalypse anime that didn’t get nearly the amount of attention that it rightfully deserved. This anime follows the story of Akira, a businessman trudging his way through life while suffering at the hands of his soul-suckingly meaningless office job.

Once the undead pandemic hit, however, Akira couldn’t have been more excited; finally, he could have some well-deserved time off from his corporate nightmare! Rather than feel overcome by mortal terror at the end of the world as he knew it, Akira simply decided to go about his daily life, slaying zombies left and right, while crossing off the 100 entries on his bucket list.

Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero

This anime is criminally underrated. Similar to Zom 100, Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero was released around the middle of summer 2023 alongside some pretty major anime titles, which could be the reason why it has flown under the radar for so many.

Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero is about a hero, Max, who defeats a fearsome and dangerous Demon Lord named Maou. Instead of dying as everyone expected him to, however, the Demon Lord went into a deep slumber instead, to preserve his remaining power. Ten years later, he unexpectedly awakens into an adorable chibi version of himself!

Curious about his predicament and how his mortal enemy has been faring all this time, Maou visits Max to see if he’s gotten stronger in his absence. Instead, Maou learns that Max is now a total loser living in a disturbingly run-down one-bedroom apartment. Absolutely disgusted at how low his once fearsome rival has sunk, Maou the Demon Lord decides to move in with him, in hopes that they’ll both be able to regain their former glory!

Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre

Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, other than being a mouthful to say, is easily one of the most underrated anime of 2023. This anime is based on a series of short horror stories written by Junji Ito, a famous author of numerous horror manga.

If you’re a fan of horror/supernatural anime, or are just a fan of horror in general, then you would love this series. Japanese Tales of the Macabre features an animated collection of 20 of the most horrifying, macabre stories written by Juji Ito.

Each episode features one or more of his famous works, ensuring that fans of the series remain constantly on the edge of their seats. This series is pretty much only available on Netflix, which could explain its lack of popularity.

Buddy Daddies

How is this anime not more popular? Frankly, I was on board as soon as I saw “daddies” in the title, but after watching it, I honestly don’t see how more people aren’t just as obsessed with this anime.

Buddy Daddies is about Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa, two extremely talented assassins who happen to be roommates (oh my god, they were roommates…). This pair of deadly (and attractive) assassins have literally never failed a single job; they’ve never once let a target escape and are widely considered to be the most dangerous men in their fields. All it takes is one adorable little girl to completely change their lives forever, though.

An innocent four-year-old girl is spontaneously thrust into their lives with little explanation, and they have to suddenly figure out how to juggle being cold-blooded assassins and loving, adoptive parents at the same time. These assassins are normally able to take anything that’s thrown at them, but somehow find themselves struggling with this little kid; from taking her to nursery school to feeding her balanced meals, Kazuki and Rei realize that they may just be up against their toughest job yet: parenthood.

The Gene of AI

The Gene of AI is a perfect choice for fans of futuristic and sci-fi anime alike, as it takes place far in the future. The world that this anime takes place in is similar to ours, but it comes with a very specific unique twist: humanoid AIs walk and live among humans in a futuristic society.

Similar to humans, these AIs suffer from a variety of ailments and illnesses, the likes of which can’t be solved by regular doctor appointments. Thankfully, Dr. Hikaru Sudo has dedicated his life to the field of medicine, and won’t turn a patient away just because they aren’t human!

Dr. Hikaru Sudo treats these humanoid AIs with the same level of professionalism and respect that he does with his human clients, though he often has to resort to illegal methods in order to treat their ailments. But as more and more AIs become afflicted with strange ailments, and the ethical lines of Dr. Hikaru Sudo’s practice become further blurred, how will humanity be able to continue existing peacefully alongside these hyper-intelligent beings?

The Fire Hunter

The Fire Hunter is admittedly a bit of wild ride, but hoo boy you’re going to love every single second of it. The Fire Hunter is easily one of the best, yet most criminally underrated anime of 2023; there hasn’t been a single person who’s watched this anime and not loved it.

The Fire Hunter takes place in a supernatural world that’s been overrun by terrible, fiery beasts known as Flame Demons. Mankind’s last hope for survival lies in the hands of the Fire Hunters, the only ones capable of facing the fiery menace.

This anime follows the story of Toko, a young girl who is miraculously saved by a Fire Hunter while being attacked by one of the beasts. The Fire Hunter who saved her tragically died as a result of the attack, and she, along with the Hunter’s dog (who also miraculously survived) must travel to the country’s capital to deliver the terrible news to the Hunter’s family. Terrible secrets about the country’s leaders, the Demons, and the very world they live in are gradually unraveled in the process, however, and it becomes a race against time itself to stop humanity from succumbing to its imminent downfall.

My New Boss Is Goofy

Unlike a handful of other entries on this list, My New Boss is Goofy is a very lighthearted and unproblematic anime that’ll leave you in stitches! This anime is hilariously relatable, especially to anyone who’s ever felt underappreciated in their workplace (and I mean really, who hasn’t?).

This anime follows the sad little life of Momose, a middle-aged salaryman just trying to navigate the stale and underwhelming world of corporate advertising and business sales. After having finally reached the end of his rope at his last job due to his boss’s constant harassment, Momose decides to find a new job entirely, where he’ll never have to face his tyrant of a boss ever again.

Once he’s been hired in at his new job, however, Momose suddenly becomes filled with anxiety; what if his new boss is somehow even worse than his last?? Thankfully, however, not only is Momose’s new boss, Shirosaki, the farthest possible thing from a tyrant, but he’s also a total air-headed goofball. Like, the very definition of a dumb blonde; it’s amazing that he even managed to make it to adulthood at all. As Momose’s anxiety decreases and Shirosaki becomes hopelessly more and more attached to his new employee, their relationship begins to gradually turn into something more… bromantic.

Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions

If this isn’t one of the greatest underrated anime of 2023, then I don’t know what is; it’s the perfect combination of murder mystery and buddy-cop. Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions has been described by many as the “anime version of Sherlock Holmes” and, honestly, I totally get it. If you loved watching BBC’s Sherlock or reading through Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlockian mysteries, then you’re going to fall head over heels for this anime!

In this anime, Ron Kamonohashi was once a genius lead detective capable of solving any case that was thrown his way. After one fatal mistake, however, he was forced to resign and never return to his career as a detective, causing him to fall into a terrible depression and become an isolated, reclusive member of society. Thankfully, that’s where Totomaru Isshiki comes in!

Totomaru Isshiki is a young and naive police officer who is, admittedly, pretty terrible at his job. After trying and failing to solve a horrifying serial murder case on his own, he knocks on Ron’s door to ask for help. Ron reluctantly agrees to help him, and their odd partnership as a mismatched detective team begins!

I’m in Love with the Villainess

Now I’m not usually one to fawn over romance anime, but I’m in Love with the Villainess is a notable outlier in the genre. Not only is this anime hilarious and incredibly engaging, but it also tugs on your heartstrings and leaves you wanting more after every episode!

Similar to Zom 100, this anime did get some relatively decent recognition after its initial release, but fans quickly moved on to bigger and better titles directly after, leaving poor old “I’m in Love with the Villainess” in the dust. This anime is genuinely one of the most hilariously relatable and engaging anime I’ve ever seen; I can’t believe it isn’t infinitely more popular by now! Romance genre aside, this is easily one of the most underrated anime of 2023.

I’m in Love with the Villainess is about a corporate drone who suddenly awakens as Rae Taylor, the protagonist in her favorite otome game. Rather than feel something normal about her situation, like fear or confusion, she is astoundingly ecstatic about the opportunity to finally romance her favorite character: Claire François, the villainess. Armed with only her knowledge of the game and her passion for Claire’s affection, Rae sets out to finally court the girl of her virtual dreams!

Migi and Dali

This anime somehow manages to be unbelievably creepy and hilarious at the same time. Migi and Dali is definitely one of the weirder titles that was released in 2023, but I guarantee that anyone who sticks around for this wild ride won’t be disappointed in the slightest. Migi and Dali is about a seemingly perfect little family that harbors a dark and mildly disturbing secret.

In this anime, Osamu and Youko Sonoyama are a lovely elderly couple who decide to adopt a young boy, Hitori, from an orphanage. Unbeknownst to them, however, their seemingly perfect adopted son is harboring an insane secret: he’s not even real.

In reality, Hitori is actually two twin boys pretending to be the same person. Migi and Dali (hence the name) are twin brothers who switch out at wildly inopportune times in a desperate attempt to make it seem as though they’re one child. Their motive behind keeping their true identities hidden remains a mystery in the beginning, but as their infallible plot begins to quickly unravel, the terrifying reason behind their deception becomes astonishingly clear…

And that’s it for our list of the greatest underrated anime of 2023! These anime may not have been among the most major titles released this past year, but that doesn’t make them any less worth watching. Top 10 Best Exotic Armor For Void Titans in Destiny 2 (November 2023)

With the Light 3.0 changes introduced with The Witch Queen DLC, Void Titans in Destiny 2 have gone from one of the least used subclasses to now one of the strongest subclasses in the entire game. However, a subclass is only as good as the Exotic armor that is paired with it. So today, we’re going over the top 10 Exotic armor for Void Titans in Destiny 2 as of the Lightfall DLC and Season of the Witch.

10. Helm Of Saint-14

The Destiny 1 Exotic helmet, Helm of Saint-14, was released with the Curse of Osiris DLC. While this is definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing Exotic armor pieces that pays homage to the Legendary Titan, Saint-14, its actual usage in-game is slim to none.

This Exotic will blind enemies who walk into your Ward of Dawn, as well as provide an Overshield to your allies who walk through it….and that’s it. Unfortunately, Ward of Dawn in PvE has very small usage due to the Warlock’s Well of Radiance Super essentially being a better version of it, on top of the Light 3.0 subclass changes, where providing Overshields to your allies is easier than ever.

Amongst every Exotic armor piece that Titans have access to, the Helm of Saint-14 is arguably the worst Exotic that needs a complete revamp to be useful in the current sandbox.

9. Mask Of The Quiet One

Mask of the Quiet One that always been a niche Exotic throughout Destiny 2’s lifespan. The gimmick behind it is granting ability energy when you’re damaged, and if you’re critically wounded, you regain all of your health upon a kill. Think of it like the Devour ability, but instead, as an Exotic.

However, since most Void builds run Devour anyway, there’s no point in running the Exotic since they both do the same thing. That said, you could also run this Exotic and opt into other fragments and aspects to really stretch out your build. The extra ability is always nice since you’re almost always being damaged in some fashion when playing just about anything.

Overall, this Exotic has a lot of potential but falls short of greatness.

8. Ursa Furiosa

The Ursa Furiosa’s were once the pinnacle endgame PvE Exotic to run on Void Titans. However, unfortunately, they are no longer needed in the current sandbox for a number of reasons.

For starters, the Exotic extends the duration of the Sentinel Banner Shield Super, allowing you to block more damage and increase the damage of your allies weapons by 25%. However, with Well of Radiance being a far superior option for endgame content, Banner Shield has lost virtually all of it viability.

It’s by no means a bad Exotic, but in the current state of the sandbox being dominated by Well of Radiance, Banner Shield Void Titans just don’t have a place in it anymore.

7. Doom Fang Pauldron

The Doom Fang Pauldrons received a rework going into Season of the Deep, working similarly to the Path of Burning Steps. Now, this Exotic grants an escalating damage bonus for your Void weapons, as well as grant additional Super energy on Void Melee kills. Basically, this Exotic combines the Hands On and Surge mods into one piece.

By no means is this a bad combination, as it opens the door for other mods to be utilized for the build, but in a sandbox where Surge mods aren’t that important outside of Raid content, the Exotic falls a little flat. This is especially the case compared to other Exotics on this list, where you’re better off using them to really amp up your build in terms of kills and survivability.

That said, this Exotic is still a lot of fun to use in normal-level content where you can easily shred through enemies.

6. Second Chance

The Second Chance Exotic gauntlets were arguably one of the weakest Exotic armor releases last year during The Witch Queen era and for good reason.

The gimmick behind this Exotic was that you now have two Shield Toss Melee charges, similarly to how the Armamentarium Exotic chest piece gives two Grenade charges. Additionally, the Shield Toss can also piece the shield of an Anti-Barrier Champion and will even refund it for you, so you can immediately throw it again.

It’s a cool gimmick on paper, but the overall problem isn’t with the Exotic itself, but more so with the Shield Toss ability, as it takes a bit of practice to get the hang of, and if you don’t hit an enemy, then you’re left with nothing to work with.

Overall, while this Exotic has some usage in solo play like Lost Sectors or Dungeons, there are definitely better options.

5. Severance Enclosure

Arguably one of the most slept-on Exotic armor pieces for Titans is the Severance Enclosure Exotic chest piece.

This Exotic revolves around getting powered Melee final blows or finishers, and then causing a giant explosion around you dealing massive AOE damage. However, the unique thing about using it on a Void Titan, as with the right fragments, you can cause massive Void explosions while staying immortal thanks to devour, and other unique abilities for Void.

Basically, you’re a walking nuke that can’t die and can continue to nuke everything so long as there are enemies to kill. It’s a very underrated Exotic that doesn’t see a lot of play for some reason, we highly recommended you give it a try.

4. No Backup Plans

The No Backup Plans have always been a one gimmick Exotic: if you love to use Shotguns, use this.

When using the Void subclass, this Exotic will grant an overshield to the user on each Shotgun final blow and begin health regeneration. On top of that, while you have an overshield, Shotguns have additional damage and will refresh your overshield on each kill.

Essentially, you can become immortal by running around and killing everything with a Shotgun. Truly living out a Titan’s fantasy of being a one-man army, and with a Shotgun no less.

The No Backup Plans are fantastic for both PvE and PvP, especially the endgame activities and is a must-have tool for your arsenal.

3. Peregrine Greaves

The Peregrine Greaves are a simple and straightforward Exotic that can be used on any subclass: they buff the damage of your Shoulder Charge when used in the air. As mentioned, while it can be used on any subclass, Void Titans get the most benefit out of them due to their Fragments.

Specifically, they have access to the Echo of Leeching, which begins health regeneration for the user on each Melee kill. On top of that, when you kill an enemy with your Shoulder Charge, you’ll gain an overshield. Combine that with the ability to one-shot opposing Guardians thanks to the Peregrine Greaves, and you have a powerful setup for PvP.

However, the same can be said for PvE, as the extra damage from the Peregrine Greaves can also one-shot a Champion in Master-tier content.

Overall, this Exotic makes Shoulder Charge a viable ability to build into for endgame content and is a must-have for your collection.

2. Peacekeepers

Currently, the dread of every Trials of Osiris player is the Peacekeepers Exotic leg armor. While this Exotic specifically isn’t meant for Void Titans, as it can be used on every subclass, it has the most usage on them for one major reason: defensive warfare.

The Peacekeepers are one of the few Exotic armor pieces in the game that revolve around a specific weapon type and boost them, and for this Exotic, they buff SMGs. SMGs in particular are very strong in the current meta for PvP, and with the defensive capabilities of a Void Titan, this Exotic allows them to dominate both offense and defense with ease.

Currently, they are the most-used Exotic armor piece for Titans in PvP, and unless a nerf is planned for them or SMGs anytime soon, they will remain as such for the foreseeable future.

1. Heart Of Inmost Light

Wrapping up the list is the Void Titans’ go-to Exotic for virtually activity in the game since the Light 3.0 changes, the Heart of Inmost Light.

Unlike other subclasses, Void Titans are able to utilize the Heart of Inmost Light to its fullest thanks to their wide variety of abilities that benefit them.

Throw a Grenade, and you’ll gain Devour, which automatically heals you on every kill. Throwing your Shield Toss Melee ability will continue Devour and grant you an overshield. Finally, using your Barricade class ability will also give you an overshield when the previous runs out. All the while, the Heart of Inmost Light will be supercharging your ability regeneration so that way you can continuously use them in a never-ending chain.

As mentioned before, while the Heart of Inmost Light is very potent on other Titan subclasses, none of them can replicate the sheer value and destruction that a Void Titan brings when wearing it.

Taylor has been a lot more than ‘just a country singer’ for years now, and anyone who disagrees can just check how many awards she has won for her pop albums. She has gained awards for Favorite Contemporary Artist, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards and continued this winning trend every year since.

The anticipation felt by Swifties when waiting for a new album to be announced is palpable. Taylor is well-known by her entire fanbase for posting hints and secret codes about her next project, as well as just outright lying that she isn’t working on anything at that moment!

Even if she was telling the truth, I doubt her fans would believe her anyway. Taylor works so hard and is a natural songwriter, so she is undoubtedly writing new material as I write this. Swifties know this, so they never believe Taylor when she says she’s not working on a new album. For most fans, her music is integral to their happiness, so this Maslow parody meme is not far from the truth.

Aside from wanting the next big album to drop as soon as possible, Swifties wish for nothing more than to see Taylor happy and in love. One fan said how good it was that Swift found a man who’s been to therapy in a tongue-in-cheek tweet.

The pair seem like a great match, so most Swifties and NFL fans are hoping they make it. And if they don’t… Well, we all know what will happen: a new album’s worth of tracks!

Another of the Swifties’ favorite things about Taylor is her ‘adorkable’ attitude. Despite being a millionaire and successful world-famous artist, she can be extremely relatable. Her love for her cat (well, all cats, really) and lack of coordination make her truly one of us. She also has a very memeable and expressive face, which we love.

Top 10 Games That Are Super Glitchy, but Still Fun to Play

Making games is hard. Not just on a technical level, but imagine getting a handful of unique personalities into a room, working towards a common goal. Even when everyone is moving in tandem, and something truly remarkable is made, there’s bound to be a few flumps. Let’s take a look at games that are—or were—super glitchy but still a lot of fun to play!

10. Dead Island

Welcome to Dead Island, where zombies can be hulking beasts or tiny creatures of destruction no bigger than a foot. Do you like whacky physics and random collisions? Well, you’ll certainly get your fill here. Witness zombies get toppled like bowling pins by a mere gas canister or sent flying from one well-placed swing. And let’s not forget a fan favorite: limbs that contort and separate on their own!

Okay, we’re done poking fun at the game. Honestly, Dead Island’s myriad of ways to kill zombies is highly concentrated dumb fun, only heightened by the ridiculous bugs you encounter. That fun is then multiplied when you bring in a few buddies!

9. Pokemon Red & Blue

There was a time in gaming history when games had to be stable and as bug-free as possible. Developers couldn’t rely on a magical day-one patch. That’s not to say Pokemon Red and Blue were an unstable mess—it certainly wasn’t—but a few bugs squeaked by.

One of the most famous examples was MISSINGNO, a glitch “Pokemon” you could battle and capture. It was really easy to find, too, and if you caught it, well, you could duplicate items in your inventory. So, hello hundreds of Rare Candies or countless Master Balls! It’s a glitch you can still find in the digital versions of Pokemon Red and Blue!

Another great example is leveling your Pokemon past 100. All you had to do was feed it Rare Candies up until it reached level 255. Or how about catching Mew? Through a combination of Fly, a trainer battle, and choosing specific locations, you can get a low-level Mew to appear!

8. Cyberpunk 2077 (On Launch)

What Cyberpunk 2077 is compared to what it was is night and day. It was an incredible mess on launch day, and many weeks after that, it was pretty astonishing to witness. The story was appealing and featured several noteworthy characters like Goro Takemura (my personal favorite), Judy, and Jackie Wells, to name a few.

The gameplay was also solid, though the skill tree had left a lot to desire. If you were lucky, like me, and only experienced graphical glitches and bugs most of the time, Cyberpunk 2077 was still a fun ride from start to finish. Well, assuming you made it to the end. You couldn’t round a corner without seeing a random T-pose, questionable pathing, NPCs who defied the laws of physics, and vehicles with minds of their own.

7. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II

Despite its numerous bugs, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 is still a great game. Unfortunately, it was rushed, which meant some quests could break, crashes often occurred, and some events and cutscenes failed to trigger. Not to mention, there was a level-up glitch that made you god-like. Finishing the game meant enduring a hellish gauntlet and a lot of saves, but I’d be lying If I said it wasn’t worth it.

Thankfully, it isn’t 2004 anymore, and the community surrounding it has grown. Modders stepped in and made TSLRCM, an unofficial patch that fixes a bunch of bugs and even restores some content that was left out. Of course, if you want a more pure playthrough, there’s also an unofficial TSLRCM Tweak Pack that leaves cut content out. Either way, KOTOR 2 won’t be such a headache to play on modern machines!

6. Bethesda Game Studios

If we’re going to discuss glitchy games that are still fun to play, Bethesda gets its own entry. It’s a running gag at this point that stretches back over two decades, from Morrowind to Starfield. Anyone who enjoys Bethesda’s catalog expects it, too. You might get launched into the stratosphere, take damage from walking over a wheel of cheese, or witness NPCs take a nasty right hook to the head while you’re talking.

Luckily, the bugs and glitches are mostly harmless. You can usually work through most of them by saving a lot. It’s tedious, sure, but losing a few minutes of progress is better than an hour, which I’m positive all of us have felt at one point or another. Autosave has saved my playthroughs more times than I care to count, too.

5. Marvel vs. Capcom 2

If there are any fighting games on the planet that are more broken than Marvel vs. Capcom 2, I’d love to see it. Not some sole developer working on a passion project, but from developers as well-established as Capcom. It’s incredible the community embraced it like they did because underneath all those travesties is still a top-notch fighting game.

For example, there are player-activated game freezes (Ruby Heart, Gambit), infinite juggles (Cable’s Air Hyper Viper Beam), and the ability to spam unblockable attacks (Sentinel). That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Naturally, players exploited them so frequently that it was fair game, even in tournaments. Only a few lines were drawn in the sand, like freezing the game and infinite dead body loops, though the latter is allowed to a finite degree.

4. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind deserves its own entry, just because many of its bugs and glitches are incredibly beneficial. They can be exploited to such a degree that, with a few simple tricks, you can make yourself an all-powerful god, even stronger than Vivec. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way; it’s what makes Morrowind unique compared to later entries.

Take Alchemy, for example. The strength of your potions is partly determined by your Intelligence. So, you brew an Intelligence potion, chug it, and then brew another even stronger version. After a while, your Intelligence (and other stats) are in the thousands. It’s handy for enchanting gear with ridiculous effects, too.

Then there’s spellcrafting. By adding a secondary target effect, in addition to the buff you want, you’ve created a permanent buff. This trick often gets referred to as the “Soultrap Effect Glitch,” but it’s not Soultrap that’s causing the bug; it’s the Target effect.

3. Mass Effect 3

To be honest, Mass Effect 3 merely continues the tradition of bugs that started long ago in the franchise’s history. It being the last in a trilogy and having the bugs and glitches it had was icing on the cake. No hate from me, though; I still love them just as much as everyone else.

The kinds of bugs you’ll find in Mass Effect 3 are actually incredibly entertaining. You’ve got NPCs breakdancing after being hit by biotics, allies T-posing, and getting stuck in the air after performing a biotic charge. It’s mostly harmless unless you’re the poor soul who can’t deal damage after migrating your ME2 save file over to ME3.

2. Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing is the kind of game—and I use that term loosely—that’s so laughably bad, it’s entertaining. The type of bad that makes movies like The Room a treat to watch. Playing it just makes you ask so many questions, like, Who thought this was okay? How did this get released? Is this some elaborate joke? You won’t get answers to those questions, by the way. Big Rigs remains an enigma throughout.

First off, the opponent you race doesn’t actually move unless you download the only patch ever released, in which case they’ll move but stop just before passing the finish line. That means you can never lose. Lastly, your truck can accelerate at ludicrous speeds… in reverse. Then there are buildings you can pass right through and terrain that clips in and out of existence. If you can get your hands on a copy of Big Rigs, it’s worth experiencing at least once.

1. Goat Simulator

It’s not every day you see game developers intentionally keep bugs in their game and be entirely open about it, but that’s precisely what Coffee Stain Studios did with Goat Simulator. Why? Well, honestly, because it makes the game a heck of a lot more fun. It was already entertaining, but the glitches just make the experience that much more better. Promise!

Coffee Stain Studios follows one simple rule: if a bug or glitch doesn’t break the game or cause instability, it’s kept in. So, welcome all manner of whacky physics, bring on the stretched-out limbs, the clipping, and bizarre NPC behavior. You’ll be giggling like a madman the entire time!

No doubt there are dozens more examples of fun, glitchy games, but these stuck out to us the most. Several were even high-profile games, like Mass Effect 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Bethesda’s lineup.
