As fans patiently await the first official look at July’s highly anticipated sequel, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we now have something to hold us over. The book publisher Random House recently put up a placeholder for an upcoming “Art Of” book, and fans realized that it included a broad but interesting plot synopsis. Just enough to dig into until a trailer arrives.
“Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighborhood hero,” the publisher’s site reads. “Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game keeping New York City safe. Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before. In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past!”
The “four years” reveal is interesting. We didn’t quite know how much time had passed between films yet. It would suggest that, at least, Ned and MJ are, if not done with college, about to finish. As for the rest, it all seems kind of expected. He’s Spider-Man. He’s doing well. A new threat emerges. He has to deal with the past. We probably could’ve guessed most of that. But now, at least, we have it from an official source.
It does open up a lot of questions, though. For example, will the New York setting necessitate a crossover with Daredevil: Born Again? What exactly could be the mystery he’s uncovering here? And also, why mention that he needs to be both physically and mentally strong? That’s kind of weird.
The description goes on to talk about what seems like a pretty cool book. “As Spider-Man: Brand New Day wows moviegoers the world over, discover the behind-the-scenes magic of the film’s visual development—from early concept sketches to final character designs. Explore environments, costumes, and exclusive insights from the next chapter for Marvel’s neighborhood hero!”
If only we could look at it now, we’d have all the answers. However, it won’t be released until August 4, well after all the spoilers are out there. Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens July 31.

With a new trailer for The Odyssey having recently been released, this movie has the best to be in Nolan’s filmography yet, as it looks completely different than anything he’s done before.
Nolan is great at experimenting with different genres. He goes back to the sci-fi well relatively often — 2010’s Inception, 2014’s Interstellar, and 2020’s Tenet — but he’s also willing to try something new. He’ll make a Batman movie, then he’ll make something about dueling magicians. A war movie and a biopic. We’ve yet to see something like a romantic comedy from him, but maybe someday we could.
Whenever Nolan takes on a new genre, the results are typically fantastic. The common consensus might be that The Dark Knight is the best of his Batman movies, but Batman Begins is still highly regarded among the superhero film community. When he took on the war movie genre, we got Dunkirk, which was fantastic. And his biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer won all kinds of Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Taking on the fantasy genre is a big turn for Nolan — again, he’s never really done anything like this. It looks to be his biggest movie purely in terms of scope to date, and the trailer already proves that he knows exactly what he’s doing. And it doesn’t even show us all too much, as we’ve yet to glimpse the Cyclops or the Sirens.
We’ll have to wait until next summer to see how it all turns out, but The Odyssey should have all Christopher Nolan fans very, very excited.

On Friday, director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed that the much anticipated fourth installment in the MCU‘s Spider-Man franchise has completed filming on the upcoming prelude to Avengers: Doomsday, set to premiere July 31 in theaters.
“I’m so deeply grateful for the people who walked with me through the biggest, most rewarding film I’ve ever been a part of,” he wrote on Instagram with photos of himself with Holland and the movie’s cast and crew, thanking his wife and kids for their support.
“To our amazing cast, for breathing so much life into these beloved characters and moving us every day. To our unbelievable crew, who worked tirelessly with unmatched creativity and craftsmanship, who made me laugh so hard my stomach never stopped hurting,” Cretton continued. “I love you all so much and can’t wait for the world to see your stunning work on the big screen. And of course, to @tomholland2013, for your kind, generous leadership on and off screen, for your relentless work ethic, your fearless performances, and for your friendship. That’s a wrap on Spider-Man: Brand New Day!”
Filming began in Scotland in August, although production briefly halted the next month after Holland was treated for a mild concussion, reportedly during a stunt gone wrong, amid production on the Pinewood UK set of the Sony and Marvel Studios movie. The actor was taken to the hospital and examined, but not admitted. No other cast or crew was affected during the incident.
Helmed by Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), producers include Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige returning. Zendaya will reprise her role as MJ, with Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas also joining the cast in undisclosed roles.

A source close to production told the outlet that Holland will take a break “out of precaution,” but is expected to return to filming in a few days.
Holland does not appear to have been seriously injured. According to The Sun, the actor attended a charity event with his co-star and fiancée Zendaya and his father over the weekend. However, he reportedly left early because he wasn’t feeling well.

A representative for Holland did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
This isn’t the first on-set injury to make headlines recently.
Earlier this year, Charlize Theron revealed that while filming her latest action-packed project, “Apex,” she sustained a painful injury after performing some of her own stunts without protective gear.
“Our crew delivered a really impressive movie, and yours truly did some stunts and action — without a harness, sometimes,” Theron said at Netflix’s 2025 upfront presentation in May, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Don’t tell Netflix.”

Despite the physical toll, Theron, 49, remained in good spirits as she recovered.
“I can honestly say that shooting ‘Apex’ was one of the most incredible experiences of my life,” she said.
Tom Cruise also suffered a serious injury while performing a stunt on the set of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.”
In bonus content from the digital release of the film, Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie broke down one of the movie’s most harrowing sequences: a high-flying biplane battle between Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, and Gabriel, portrayed by Esai Morales.

“Oh, this almost broke my back,” Cruise, whose character was leaping from one plane to another, revealed in the commentary, per Entertainment Weekly.
“You’re talking about a lot of pain here,” McQuarrie chimed in.
“Now watch this, the thing we haven’t talked about, holding on to this belt,” McQuarrie described, while Cruise said, “Oh God, that was brutal.”
The director went on to explain, “This separated the joints in Tom’s fingers from the force, so by the time we finished this sequence, your hands were absolutely swollen – oh my God, it was so painful to watch.”

The move comes as a way to give Holland seven days to recover from the injury while avoiding having to shoot without him. The trade described the injury as “a mild concussion,” and will be giving the franchise’s current Peter Parker a break from his Spider-Man commitments out of an abundance of caution. Holland was still able to attend a charity event on behalf of the Brother’s Trust, an organization the actor runs with his brothers.
While Spider-Man: Brand New Day shoot will be affected for a week, it’s not expected to impact the release of the film. As of now, the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios feature is still on track to meet its release date. So we will be watching the continuation of a world where no one knows who Peter Parker is, let alone that he’s Spider-Man, come 2026.
Of course, even just under a year away, much of what Brand New Day is about is being kept under wraps. The film will bring back memory-wiped MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) along with an extensive new ensemble of new and familiar Marvel Cinematic Universe players. Jon Bernthal will be featured as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, alongside Avengers mainstay Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando will also reprise his role as the Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Newcomers to the MCU include Stranger Things star Sadie Sink in a major undisclosed role, and Emmy-winning Severance star Trammell Tillman.

The actor, while in conversation with Agence-France Presse, revealed that he wrapped up the productions of the Matt Damon starrer and is solely focused on getting the tricks of the superhero right for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The English native was all praises for the Nolan directorial, as he claimed that the movie adaptation is the “best script” he’s ever read. Calling the filmmaker a collaborator, Holland stated that the former knows exactly what he wants.

While sitting down for an interview with the media portal, Holland shared that he had the best time working with Christopher Nolan and the rest of the cast members on the sets of The Odyssey. The actor recalled, “It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
He further added, “Working with Chris and getting to know him and Emma [Thomas] was absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen someone that can work the way that they do, and there is a reason why they’re the best in the business for sure.”
Meanwhile, the actor also added that the script of the film was one of the best. Elsewhere in the talks, Holland revealed that the offer to star in The Odyssey was “the phone call of a lifetime” and “reminiscent of getting the call about ‘Spider-Man’ 10 years ago. It’s an amazing thing for me. I’m super proud and I’m really, really excited.”
As for the release dates, The Odyssey will be out in theaters on July 17, 2026, while Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be dropped by Marvel on July 31, 2026.
On working with Nolan, Holland said the filmmaker “is a real collaborator,” adding, “He knows what he wants… but it is not an environment where you can’t pitch ideas or build characters in certain ways.”
The Odyssey is slated to premiere on July 17, 2026, and it is an adaptation of the epic poem from Homer and the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War.
The cast of the film includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, among many others.
It’s not the first time Holland praises his time with Nolan. Inan interview with GQ posted in July, Holland called his experience “amazing” and “the job of a lifetime.”
“The best experience I’ve had on the film set. Incredible,” Holland told GQ. “It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
He continued, “Working with Chris, getting to know him and Emma [Thomas] was absolutely fantastic. The sequel will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and presumably have some tie-in with the greater MCU, though it’s not clear how exactly yet. “I’ve been speaking to [Robert Downey Jr.] a lot, especially about him making his [Marvel] return, which is super exciting,” Holland said on the Rich Rollpodcast earlier this month. “That was a tough secret to sit on because I have a reputation for ruining things and I strategically have done no press.”
The young actor, who also starred in 2022’s Uncharted, an adaptation of the hit PlayStation games, said the script for Spider-Man 4 had him excited. “We have a creative and we have a pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me,” Holland told the Rich Roll podcast. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”
Holland is best known for playing Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also recently starred in the London stage production of Romeo & Juliet, which ran for twelve weeks this past summer at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

Speculation reached its peak in 2017 during the pair’s promotional tour for the film, with many assuming that the duo were secretly an item. Zendaya shut down the rumors at the time, telling Variety, “We are friends. He’s a great dude. He’s literally one of my best friends. This past how[ever] many months, we’ve had to do press tours together. There’s very few people that will understand what that’s like at 20 years old.”
While rumors quieted for a few years, the Spider-Man co-star reignited talks of romance in July 2021. The pair were photographed sharing a passionate kiss in Holland’s car. The photos—which you can see here—pretty much broke the internet. A source who spoke to People at the time confirmed the relationship, revealing, “They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man. They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”
The insider continued, “They’re both really ambitious and they challenge each other—but, most importantly, they make each other crack up. They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”
While Tom and Zendaya have continued to play coy about their relationship, the actress spoke about what she appreciates most about her rumored beau in her November 2021 InStyle interview. “There are many things, obviously, that I appreciate,” she told the magazine. “In an actor way, I appreciate that he really loves being Spider-Man. It’s a lot of pressure—you take on the role of a superhero wherever you go. To the little kid who walks by, you are Spider-Man. I think he handled that so well. And seeing him at work, even though he’s not a Virgo, he is a perfectionist.”
In an interview with GQ in 2021, Tom revealed what Zendaya taught him about fame. “Having her in my life was so instrumental to my sanity,” he said. “She is so good at being the role model for young guys and girls. When anyone comes up, like, ‘Can I have a picture?,’ it’s never a bad time. Whereas my initial reaction was: ‘Why are you talking to me? Leave me alone.’” Tom also discussed the 2021 photo of him and Zendaya kissing, which he saw as an invasion of his “privacy.” “One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” he said. “I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway,” he says. “We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”
Zendaya added, “It was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive. The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own.… I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”
When asked how he and Zendaya started dating, Tom told GQ, “I don’t think it’s about not being ready. It’s just that we didn’t want to. It’s not a conversation that I can have without her. You know, I respect her too much to say… This isn’t my story. It’s our story. And we’ll talk about what it is when we’re ready to talk about it together.”
As for what Zendaya thinks of Tom, the former Disney Channel star gushed to GQ about her co-star. “He’s a fun time,” she said. “Very charismatic, can make anybody feel comfortable and have a good laugh and a good chat. A good chat—I sound so British.”
Even years later she’s confirmed that the only person to rizz her up was her Spider-Man co-star. “I think someone who has beautiful charisma, not in the Dune cast, but worked for me is Mr. Tom Holland,” she said in a Buzzfeed puppy interview. “I’m more shy and kinda quiet, so it takes a little more to pull me out of my shell,” she explained. “But he’s great at just, like, talking to people and getting to know people.”
The Crowded Room actor even acknowledged his rizz game when making a movie with a love interest. “I have no rizz whatsoever. I have limited rizz,” he told Buzzfeed. “I need you to fall in love with me, really, for it to work. So, long game. Probably making a movie with each other. Definitely helps when the characters you’re playing are falling in love with one another—you can sort of blur the lines a little bit. That’s kind of where my rizz is at. And I’m, you know, I’m locked up, so I’m happy and in love. So I’ve got no need for rizz.”
He also talked about his relationship with social media after the Euphoria star sends him memes every day on Instagram. “It’s nonstop,” he says. “She sends me too much, it’s like, I can’t keep up! I delete my Instagram for days at a time. I download it to post and then I have to check my messages, and I’ll have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of things from her.”

Iâll admit it here: I didnât read Dune. But Iâll also swear on my life that Iâve had Frank Herbertâs massive odyssey of a novel on my TBR long before the new adaptation, Dune: Part One(let alone Dune: Part Two), was set in motion by Denis Villeneuve. I’m not new to this, but I’m also not true to this.
Itâs my fatherâs favorite book, so I grew up half-grateful, half-scornful he didnât name me Chani. Now that Zendaya is playing that role, Iâm still ambivalent about the choice.
Which is to say, all these long years, I still havenât even turned to the first page. Therefore, I donât know how it ends â specifically if Prince Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) gets the girl in the end. I guess Iâll find out on March 1st, Dune: Part Twoâs long-awaited release date (shoutout to the SAG strike). But until then, I have even hotter Dune tea to contemplate: Did Timothee dump Kylie Jenner?

For a couple comprised of two of the hottest celebrities alive, their relationship has been so amorphous in the public eye. They havenât been taking over tabloids with not-so-candid appearances. In fact, all the Kylie and Timothee pictures have been rare and somewhat tame. Yet, they also havenât been completely hush-hush. This middle ground is somewhat unsatisfying. After Kylie and Timothee pictures broke the internet at Beyonce’s Renaissance tour and then again at the US Open, 2023’s odd couple have been fairly quiet. This year, they only came up for air to smooch on camera at the Golden Globes. Now, with radio silence persisting ad Timothee in his flop era, some wonder if this unlikely pair has run its course. I mean, even the famously private Tom Holland and Zendaya are more conspicuous than these two.
Are Kylie and Timothee actually dating?
I will say, Iâm a hater. I never loved this pairing. Not because I have some parasocial claim on our generationâs Leonardo DiCaprio. Nor because I have some purist notion that he is somehow âtoo goodâ for Kylie Jenner just because his name is a little French. And, unlike my darling Aaron Taylor Johnson, the Kylie Jenner/Timothee Chalamet age difference is perfectly acceptable â only two years, even though she sometimes looks like his mom (sorry, Miss Girl!).
When it comes to celebs, I think they all deserve each other. But since itâs become so ubiquitous that Kris Jenner orchestrates her daughtersâ lives with the dexterity and precision of a chess grandmaster, nothing the KarJenner clan does surprises me. The most gossip these two ever gave was Selena Gomez Gate.
Even if I believe itâs a real relationship â I mean, câmon, who could resist either of them â thereâs absolutely nothing charming about the fact that it probably had to be Kris-approved to come into the world and will have to be Kris-approved to come out of it.
Thatâs not sexy. Thatâs not what I want from my Timothee Chalamet dating rumors. I miss when he was making out on boats in grainy pictures with Lily-Rose Depp and Eiza Gonzalez. I wish for him what Dua Lipa has with Callum Turner. What Sabrina Carpenter has with Barry Keoghan. Hell, even what the American Royal Couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have. Not this sanitized version of a surprise couple.
So … Did Timothee Dump Kylie?
If the rumors are true: I might get my wish after all. Reports (re: Deuxmoi and Reddit) say that Timothee was acting very single on a night out after the Dune: Part Two premiere in New York City. While his committed costars Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Zendaya slept, Timmy was allegedly out partying in SoHo like a singleton. Oh, to be young and hot in New York.
Where was Kylie? Putting Stormi to bed, one can assume. But was she waiting for a call from her man? Or is that not her man anymore? If not, her recent paparazzi pics in her Khy bodycon dress might have to be reclassified as a revenge dress. We’ll have to wait and see if more Kylie and Timothee paparazzi pictures surface. Though Kris Jenner, I implore you: if there are more Kylie and Timothee pictures, please keep them to yourself.
Take this all with a grain of salt, of course.
I may not know much about Dune, but one thing I know for certain is who pulls the strings in this town. When Kris Jenner deems the timing right, and only then, will the news break (and the Kylie and Timothee pictures cease for good)â not with a bang, I fear, but a whimper. I can only hope Dune: PartTwo goes out with a grander finale than this controversial, but ultimately uninteresting. coupling.
Tom Holland and Zendaya put breakup rumours to rest with a rare public outing: the Dune: Part Two world premiere after-party in London. The rumour mill about these two tends to start churning whenever one of them has a big project going on, and that certainly seems to have been the case here. As of Thursday evening, your favourite Gen Z acting power couple still appear to be going strong. Zendaya has been extremely busy embodying a sci-fi alien princess movie star on the Dune 2 press tour, serving looks and showing off her abs in a myriad of Law Roach–styled red-carpet ensembles.
Right after gracing the red carpet in her latest fashion coup—a metal Mugler space suit that showed off her butt cheeks—she changed into something more comfortable for the after-party. Clad in a black velvet floor-grazing gown and Bulgari jewellery, the Euphoria star stepped out with Holland one month after he confirmed to TMZ that he and Z had “absolutely not” broken up. The Spider-Man actor was a bit more dressed down in a black vest with pearl buttons, black trousers, and a black crewneck tee. The couple were photographed holding hands when they arrived.

Having met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Tom Holland and Zendaya have been dating off and on ever since. The 27-year-old recently spoke about their special bond at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards.
“Zendaya and I will, every now and then, watch Spider-Man 1 and reminisce about being 19 and making those movies again,” he told Extra. “I love those movies, and I love savouring those moments, so I try not to watch them as often as I would maybe like to because it’s so special. It’s such a luxury, such a gift to be able to sit down and sort of relive your youth.”
Often associated with celebrities and other famous figures, “rizz” has been chosen by the Oxford University Press as its word of the year.
It’s a term Gen Z has mainly embraced, and it beat out words such as “prompt,” “situationship” and “Swiftie” that were considered by Oxford University Press, which publishes the Oxford English Dictionary. But what does it mean?
What does rizz mean?
Under Oxford’s definition, it’s a noun that means style, charm, attractiveness or the ability to attract a romantic or sexual partner. Oxford said rizz was a shortened form of the word charisma.
“The word ‘rizz’ can also be used as a verb, often in the phrase ‘rizz up’, which means ‘to attract, seduce, or chat up (a person),’ Oxford said.
Where did the word rizz come from?
Its origins have been pegged to Twitch steamer Kai Cenat who has been credited with popularizing the word on the interactive livestreaming platform. He told Complex that it came from him and his group of friends before he said it on Twitch and it spilled across social media. Unlike Oxford’s characterization of the term, Cenat said the word is not short of charisma to him, and instead, it “meant game.”
The term has sice evolved to mean different variations of the word rizz, such as “l rizz” and “unspoken rizz.”
The word took another level when Spider-Man actor Tom Holland was asked if he had any rizz in a Buzzfeed interview published in June.
“I have no rizz whatsoever, I have limited rizz,” Holland told the outlet.
“I need you to fall in love with me, really, for it to work,” he added.
Casper Grathwohl, president at Oxford Languages, told the BBC that rizz possibly spoke to “a prevailing mood of 2023, where more of us are opening ourselves up after a challenging few years and finding confidence in who we are.” Grathwohl said the rise of the use of the word rizz also shows that words from internet culture are becoming more part of the everyday vernacular.
Last year, the slang term “Goblin mode” took the prize as Oxford’s 2022 word of the year. Oxford described it as a type of behavior when someone is “unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly, or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations.”

When Barbie premiered in July, women felt seen in the cinema — perhaps for the first time in a long time. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie was more than a beginner’s feminist manifesto, but also a meditation on what it means to be both a woman and mother in today’s world. It was a gentle reminder that maybe we’re all just trying our best — and that our best is enough.
It also encouraged women celebrate each other more. The Barbie effect had us all wearing pink, emulating Margot Robbie’s cowboy-chic style, and referring to men as our “Kens.” And with help from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, her friendship bracelets, and sense of community, women were winning. It’s the first year in history that women dominated the Billboard Hot 100 twice (thanks to Swift and her Midnights and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album). Like I said, it’s a good year to be a woman.
This celebration of women and our successes is long overdue, but the promising news is that it isn’t slowing down. Barbie’s feminist wave has shifted how we are accepting ourselves (and others) as women.
So it’s no surprise that women are raking in awards this year too, dominating the Grammy nominations and more. We hail celebrities for all sorts of achievements: Patrick Dempsey is People’s Sexiest Man Alive (deserved), Taylor Swift is the world leader (they literally projected her welcome onto Christ the Redeemer), and Austin Butler is Best Elvis (because somehow we have multiple).
And one of the buzziest celeb awards is run by GQ (short for Gentlemen’s Quarterly), whose “Men Of The Year” award is a highlight of every fall/winter. Similar to TIME’s 100 list, GQ likes to celebrate those who have taken the world by storm annually.
This year, the recipient of the Man of the Year award is none other than Kim Kardashian…and they’re not wrong.
Kim has been taking her empire to new heights in 2023: building on the 2022 launch of her SKKN-care line, breaking ground with Skims’ Men’s campaign, the Nipple Bra, and becoming the official partner of the NBA/WNBA, working on prison reform, filming The Kardashians on Hulu, starring alongside Emma Roberts in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story as Siobhan Corbyn, I could go on.
Calling someone “the man” has now become synonymous with “a winner.” Saying “you’re the man” is a sign of their success. And though this might have problematic roots, women are reclaiming the term — like the Taylor Swift song. And in the grand scheme of things: Kim Kardashian is the man.
Some hard working men get the title alongside Kim in the GQ issue. The other MOTY honorees include Jacob Elordi (AKA Elvis #2, who’s starring in blockbusters like Sofia Coppolla’s Priscilla and Saltburn alongside Barry Keoghan), Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin, designer-turned-filmmaker Tom Ford, and Travis Scott. But you have to admit that Kim hasn’t come up for air this year.
It’s right there for us to see in episodes of The Kardashians: Kim flying from country to country for another event on her booked and busy schedule. She’s literally everywhere at once, officiating recently divorced Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage’s wedding, shooting countless magazine covers and promo shoots for her growing enterprise, opening a Skims popup here, and shooting an episode of AHS there.

Kim Kardashian is one of the few women to grace the cover of GQ’s Man of the Year edition. Technically dubbed “Tycoon of the Year”, acknowledging her business successes over the past few years (and for the gender neutrality of it all)- Kardashian joins a host of some of the most famous men in the world. Women are normally recognized during the Men of the Year ceremonies, as it is a celebration of all people who emulated pop culture that year…however, no year has celebrated women quite like 2023.
The Men of the Year Awards 2023 were held on November 15 at London’s Royal Opera House where cover stars like Jeremy Allen White, boygenius, and Kardashian were in attendance.
Other female recipients included Megan Thee Stallion and Rihanna, who have paved their own paths in both the music and fashion industry. Rihanna with her Savage x Fenty inclusive lingerie line and Fenty Beauty has been changing the makeup and underwear game for a while now. Megan Thee Stallion is coming off a high-profile trial that she won against Tory Lanez, under immense public scrutiny, has become a figure for mental health and domestic violence while still creating hit records.
It’s one of the most female-dominated GQ events we’ve seen, which is a pattern. The GRAMMY Award nominations just rolled out with so many female artists nominated, you’d think it’s a record. In the top three categories, female acts make up seven out of eight nominees.
This year, women are the man. It’s an exciting, uplifting time where we get to celebrate with each other instead of tearing one another down. Kim K is just another example of the Barbie effect.
