  • Inside Ralph Lauren’s Post-Runway Dinner Party in Milan with Liam Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Henry Golding

    [ad_1]

Though Ralph himself did not make the trip from the states, opting instead to watch from a live stream in New York, there was no shortage of star power. Looking on from the front row were a who’s who in the world of new guard leading men: Henry Golding, Liam Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Colman Domingo, Morgan Spector, Benito Skinner, and Nick Jonas.

“I always think of my father when I’m here, because this is the place where he would show me just how men were dressing,” David recalled. “We would walk the streets and see how Polo or Purple Label had become part of the culture. He’d say, ‘If it works in Italy, it means you’re a global brand.’”

Following the show, as the models emerged from backstage to mingle with guests for canapés and cocktails, the scene became a veritable trunk show. “I think I need that Yankee bomber jacket,” Golding told VF. He was just one of many guests, celebrity and otherwise, who were already drafting their wish lists. For the TikTok set, it was a particular Western fringe jacket that caught their eye, and for the discerning group of department store buyers, a trio of military-inspired officer coats not seen in the brand’s design canon since the late-90s.

The only thing that could tempt some guests to exit was the promise of a meal at the nearby Ralph’s Bar, a smaller satellite version of New York’s The Polo Bar inside the Ralph Lauren Milan flagship store on Via della Spiga. Here, a more subdued atmosphere unfolded for a select few, with Hemsworth and fiancée Gabriella Brooks unwinding in the back loggia making plans for a return to the French Alps, and Domingo with husband Raúl in the wood-paneled bar enjoying Ridgway margaritas; a recipe perfected in the home bar at Lauren’s Double RL Ranch in Colorado. Cast in a warm glow and dotted with equestrian oil paintings and paraphernalia, it all felt a world away from the scrum of flashbulbs and screaming fans outside, and nothing short of glamorous.

  • Tom Hiddleston talks about bringing Loki back in Avengers: Doomsday | Filmfare.com

    [ad_1]

It has been 15 years since Tom Hiddleston first appeared as the God of Mischief in Thor, and the actor is now preparing for a major return to the big screen. Hiddleston is officially set to reprise his role as Loki in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled for release next December.

After the successful two-season run of the Loki series on Disney+, the actor recently shared his thoughts on the character’s evolution and what fans can expect from the next Avengers instalment. In a recent conversation with GQ, Hiddleston explained that his connection to Loki is deeply rooted in his personal love for stories about redemption and second chances.

Reflecting on his childhood, he recalled being moved by films like The Shawshank Redemption and stage plays that focused on rebuilding one’s life. He shared, “I still find it incredibly emotional. It’s so moving, the idea that you get another chance. I suppose I want that for everyone.”

Loki’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been unique. While he started as a villain, his solo series allowed him to find a new path. By the end of the show, Loki had taken control of the multiverse’s timelines. Hiddleston noted that the series allowed the character to face his past mistakes, including his failed invasion of Earth. He explained, “In order to become someone different, whose story had a different ending.” He added that this growth gave him the control over his own story.

Looking ahead to Avengers: Doomsday, the stakes are high as the MCU shifts its focus. Hiddleston has already finished filming his scenes for the movie and hinted that the script is groundbreaking. He shared, “It is monumental. The centre of the story is absolutely brilliant and was so surprising when I read it. It just has never been done before.”

While fans wait for the new film, Hiddleston remains busy with other projects. He recently worked on the film Tenzing in Nepal and will soon be seen in the return of The Night Manager, which begins airing on January 11.

  • Tom Hiddleston Had an Unexpected Reaction to His Ex Taylor Swift Being Mentioned Years After Denying Their Relationship Was a Publicity Stunt

    [ad_1]

What exactly do you do when your ex is brought up? It’s another thing when your ex-girlfriend is Taylor Swift. Tom Hiddleston just had an unsuspecting reaction to a recent Taylor Swift fact.

In an interview with Heart Radio, Hiddleston discussed his habits. “I find myself on the sports highlights,” the 44-year-old told Heart in a clip posted to YouTube Aug. 21. “It’s football or if there’s been a tennis championship I’ve missed. There’s all these sports journalists who write really beautifully about sport, and I love reading what they’ve written.”

Host Devin Griffin later quipped that it reminded him of another famous celebrity’s habit. “We did just find out—Taylor Swift, big fan of a sourdough recipe blog,” the radio DJ said. “Very, very specific but I see how you could get into that.” Hiddleston scrunches his eyes a bit at the statement. Then, he is relieved when his Life of Chuck co-star Karen Gillan made a hot take on Swift’s special interest.

“That feels like an easter egg for something,” Gillan said, nodding to the singer’s habits of including them within speeches and work. “I think it might be something to do with the Super Bowl.”

Hiddleson is believed to have inspired songs like “Getaway Car.” The couple surprised fans when they were photographed kissing in Rhode Island in June 2016 after meeting at the Met Gala in May. However, the relationship was short-lived as Us Weekly reported in 2016 that the two had broken up.

“She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship,” an insider said at the time. “Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.” Now that they’ve split, the source says, Hiddleston is “embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out.”

In an interview with GQ in 2017, Hiddleston denied that his relationship with Swift was a publicity stunt. “Taylor is an amazing woman,” he said. “She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time. Of course it was real.”

It’s been nearly a decade since their relationship, and the two have clearly moved on. Hiddleston is currently expecting baby No. 2 with fiancée Zawe Ashton, while Swift is head over heels in her relationship with NFL tight end Travis Kelce.

  • Tom Hiddleston Thinks Loki Ended Up a Hero After His 14-Year Multiversal Journey

Tom Hiddleston Thinks Loki Ended Up a Hero After His 14-Year Multiversal Journey

    [ad_1]

Finding Loki’s glorious purpose finally came full circle at the end of Loki season two in ways perhaps the God of Mischief turned God of Stories couldn’t have imagined. Tom Hiddleston discussed his 14-year journey as Loki on a recent Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance, during which Kimmel asked if it’s really the last we’re seeing of the iconic Marvel anti-hero.

Hiddleston has said goodbye to Loki before with deaths that didn’t quite stick—including Avengers: Infinity War, which turned out to be a variant death. But the Avengers-era Loki who made a break for it in Avengers: Endgame ended up being the Loki we followed in the Loki series. So, is this the end for Loki? “I don’t know, I really don’t know,” Hiddleston told the host, who asked if he was contractually lying (I don’t count him out for Deadpool & Wolverine, to be honest). He added, somewhat cryptically, “I know that we’ve reached some sort of narrative conclusion with season two, which feels very satisfying to me.”

Loki’s redemption as the glue that literally holds the multiverse together as the God of Stories might mean he can only exist outside of the timeline, sure—but is that proof that Loki is a full-fledged hero now, considering the villainous start of his journey? (I mean, is the Battle of New York still hard to give him a pass for?) Hiddleston thinks so. “I’m aware that he’s made some interesting choices, which could be accumulated into a picture that looks like he’s a villain, and once upon a time, he was making some misguided choices,” he shared. Anyone who has followed Loki on the Disney+ series knows he went through a huge multiversal ass-kicking and ego breakdown, what with having to learn how to fix time and everything in the multiverse over the course of hundreds of years and the loss of everyone he knows—ultimately saving many more people than he carelessly unalived in Avengers.

Hiddleston continued. “You know, trying to take over New York and the Avengers having to assemble to stop him, that was a bad day in the office,” he said, comparing it to the grand scheme of his destiny weighted by more burden than glory. “I’d like to think that, you know, 14 years later, he’s making some slightly more generous, loving, and heroic choices.”

Do you think Loki’s sacrifice to save everyone in the end has earned him a place in the pantheon of Marvel heroes? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Episode 5 of ‘Loki’ Proves This Season Was Leading Up to Being All About Loki After All | The Mary Sue

Episode 5 of ‘Loki’ Proves This Season Was Leading Up to Being All About Loki After All | The Mary Sue

    [ad_1]

Tom Hiddleston as Loki standing with the team

A fairly good complaint of Loki season 2 up through episode 4 was that the show wasn’t focused on Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Well, that all changed with episode 5 “Science/Fiction” and for the better.

Spoilers for Loki season 2 episode 5 lie ahead, beware!

For a show called Loki, there were a lot of moving parts that kept him out of the limelight. We had to deal with the branching timelines and the Temporal Loom becoming overpowered. We had new characters to meet. Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) were both dealing with things that were separate from their time with Loki. So when it came down to it, he just wasn’t a focal point. It didn’t mean that Loki wasn’t the main character, it just wasn’t what the show needed to have as a center piece time and time again.

So whenever a complaint would roll in from fans that the show wasn’t about our God of Mischief anymore, we couldn’t really pushback about it. Because it wasn’t. It was about the Time Variance Authority first and foremost. But all of that changed when “Science/Fiction” came into play. Episode 5 really took this idea of the world without the TVA and made Loki the most important figure in it and showed us all that he is who we need to trust.

He is, after all, the God of Stories. Frankly, it was worth the wait to have an absolutely incredible episode of television that gave Loki all the agency in his own story and gave him the ability to bring his team back together completely on his own and in his own time. With the help of O.B. (Ke Huy Quan) of course but it was still Loki and his journey that took us back to the start.

As Coldplay once said, oh take me back to the start

Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Ke Huy Quan as OB standing
    (Disney+)

Loki coming into his powers was great. Watching him take us back to the start of everything to try and fix it was incredible but what really just clicked was knowing that he is in control of it all. Loki should be the star of his own show. To see that he’s the one controlling it? That’s epic. It also fixes the complaint that I also was beginning to side with. Not that I didn’t trust what was happening with the series, I did more than most. But I did wonder what was going on with Loki that we kept seeing him side-lined for other storylines.

Knowing now that it was so he could have this moment, when he gained the power to control his time slipping and control the narrative? To see how the lack of Loki in the first half of the season was all leading up to not only one of the best episodes of the season as a whole but so that we could have such an incredible pay off with it? It just really made it all worth it.

This piece was written during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Without the labor of the actors currently on strike, the work being covered here wouldn’t exist.

  • 10 Marvel Actors Who Took Home Props From Their Movies

10 Marvel Actors Who Took Home Props From Their Movies

    [ad_1]

Being an actor in a Marvel movie seems like a pretty sweet gig. You get to bring an iconic comic book character to life for millions of fans. And while the costume may not always be comfy — in fact, quite a few actors openly hated their ensembles — you sometimes get to take home a cool souvenir. Yes, that’s right. Some Marvel actors have been lucky enough to walk away from set with a piece of movie magic, whether it’s a prop, a wardrobe piece, or even a part of the set.

In some cases, these tokens are given to the actors as presents to thank them for a job well done. But Marvel isn’t always so keen on handing props over to actors to keep for good. For example, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu asked the producers if he could take home a pair of his character’s shoes, but his request was denied. That’s why some actors simply steal their desired prop and hope nobody notices. Many of them have even gotten away with it, too — until they confess to their stolen treasures in interviews. Of course, no Marvel actor has gotten in serious trouble from taking home a prop. After all, it’s quite hard to imagine an A-list actor such as Tom Holland or Ryan Reynolds getting in trouble for simply bringing home a bit of their character with them.

Report: ‘The Night Manager’ In Works For A Second Season With Tom Hiddleston Set To Return

    [ad_1]

    By Melissa Romualdi.

It’s been six years since the top-rated 2016 U.K. drama “The Night Manager”, starring Tom Hiddleston, had its season one finale.

Now, the popular adaptation of John le Carré’s 1993 espionage novel is reportedly in the works for a second season at Prime Video and the BBC, with Hiddleston set to reprise his role as protagonist Jonathan Pine, as per Deadline

The outlet reports that season 2 will film later this year in London and South America. Although a new season has yet to be formally greenlit by Prime Video and the BBC, sources tell Deadline that the show is on track to receive a two-season order.

  • Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton ‘loving being new parents’ after secretly welcoming first baby

Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton ‘loving being new parents’ after secretly welcoming first baby

    [ad_1]

Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton have become parents and as reported by US Weekly, the couple secretly welcomed their first baby. The actress had previously confirmed her pregnancy in June this year as she graced the red carpet for Mr Malcolm’s List premiere in NYC showcasing her baby bump. In the same month, the duo also sparked engagement rumours.

The Loki actor and Ashton were first romantically linked in 2019. The couple also worked together during the time on the West End’s production of Betrayal. In September last year, the two made their official red carpet debut during the 74th Annual Tony Awards when Ashton showed up to support Hiddleston, who was nominated for Best Leading Actor for his role in the drama.

    Tom and Zawe’s parenting journey

A source informed US Weekly that “Tom and Zawe are loving being new parents and are filled with joy. They have been having the struggles of new parents and aren’t sleeping much but are thrilled.” The new parents got engaged in June as confirmed by Tom who informed Los Angeles Times that he was “very happy” after popping the question. While the couple secretly welcomed their baby, the gender and other details haven’t yet been shared by the couple.

    Tom and Zawe’s relationship

While Tom and Zawe are one of those Hollywood couples who prefer to keep their relationship private, a source close to them had told US Weekly that the England native and Wanderlust alum “are crazy about each other and truly past the honeymoon phase” and also how the couple is “looking to build a long-term future together.” Prior to Ashton, Hiddleston’s past relationships include his headline-grabbing September 2016 for his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift. The actor has also been linked to actresses such as Elizabeth Olsen, Susannah Fielding and Jessica Chastain in the past.

On the work front, Tom Hiddleston is gearing up for the second season of his MCU show Loki. After the first season received massive success, Hiddleston will return alongside Owen Wilson and more for the second one. It was previously announced at Comic-Con that the show will arrive in the Summer 2023.
