Jason Kelce on Netflix’s Tom Brady roast: ‘I really don’t get it’

    [ad_1]

The roast of Tom Brady on Sunday night was a divisive blast of entertainment, the kind rooted in a tradition of no-holds-barred insults that can’t be spoken in any other public setting.

Brady made headlines locally for ripping the people of Philadelphia, who have never spared him the humiliation of his defeat against Nick Foles and the Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

“Philly fans are just racist a**holes!” Brady said on the live Netflix special. “But (host) Kevin Hart is from there, so I get it. … In Philly, they have to grease up the light poles so people don’t climb them after games. You know how they grease up those poles? They rub someone from Philadelphia on them.”

Brady’s shots at Philly were pretty tame compared to some of the barbs thrown around during the roast, which went on for more than three hours. He tore into Kim Kardashian, claiming she was fearful of having to leave her kids supervised by unhinged ex-husband Kanye West. And Nikki Glaser, always a viper at roasts, ridiculed Brady’s divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

“You have seven rings,” Glaser said. “Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

On Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast Jason and Travis Kelce shared their thoughts on the roast.

“I really don’t f***ing get it,” Jason said. “I don’t get why people do roasts. I don’t get why they’re a thing. ‘Ha ha ha ha, yeah, my family’s ruined! It’s so funny! Everyone’s laughing! It’s great! We’re all having fun, right?’”

The brothers considered a hypothetical scenario in which they agreed to be roasted. Travis said he’d want comedians Andrew Santino, Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart to do the honors.

“I would love Kevin to go up there and just f***ing rip me in half,” he said.

    Jason had a different take.

“I would pick people that I would have no problem getting into a fist fight with, like family,” he said. “Like Dad, roast me, but I’m going to beat the f*** out of dad when the camera turns off.”

Jason speculated that two of his former Eagles teammates, Lane Johnson and Darius Slay, would be skilled roasters if given the chance. The brothers agreed Chiefs head coach Andy Reid would excel, but in a wholesome way.

“He would say something that would be hilarious, but it wouldn’t be that offensive,” Jason said.

The one person Kelce would never let on stage to roast him is his wife, Kylie, who knows too much about him.

“Every day I’m getting roasted by Kylie. I don’t need her to go up on stage and do that,” Jason said. He revealed a sword on the podcast that he bought her for their anniversary, maybe suggesting he’d rather she take him down with that than any verbal venom.

The Brady roast has spurred all kinds of think pieces. IndieWire’s Tony Maglio argued that the event shouldn’t have been broadcast live, since some of the unedited footage suggested many of the people there were uneasy about some of the jokes. Afterward, Netflix reportedly edited out the crowd’s booing of Kim Kardashian as she was attempting to tell a joke about Kevin Hart’s height.

At the Washington Post, Sally Jenkins argued the special was misogynistic and that many of the jokes were cruel and cheap rather than funny.

“The uncomfortable truth is that the only person it shamed was (Brady), and not gently,” Jenkins wrote.

Travis said he got a different impression from watching clips of the special, which he wasn’t able to see live.

“I commend everybody because nobody seemed to get their feelings hurt,” he said. “It just looked like everybody was having fun with it.”

There was one joke the Kelce brothers both admired from Nicki Glaser.

“Tom also lost $30 million in (cryptocurrency),” Glaser said. “Tom, how did you fall for that? Even Gronk was like, ‘Me know that not real money.’”

    Jason then had a revelation.

“That’s probably why he did the roast,” he said. “It’s just, bam! Alright, I take that back. I’ll do a roast. What’d you guys pay Tom?”

  • FTX files plan to fully reimburse customers defrauded of billions by failed crypto exchange

FTX files plan to fully reimburse customers defrauded of billions by failed crypto exchange

    [ad_1]

FTX says that nearly all of its customers will receive the money back that they are owed, two years after the cryptocurrency exchange imploded, and some will get more than that.

In an anticipated amended Plan of Reorganization filed in a U.S. bankruptcy court late Tuesday, the exchange estimates that it has between $14.5 billion and $16.3 billion to distribute to customers and other creditors around the world.

The filing said that after paying claims in full, the plan provides for supplemental interest payments to creditors, to the extent that funds still remain. The interest rate for most creditors is 9%.

That may be a diminished consolation for investors who were trading cryptocurrency on the exchange when it collapsed. When FTX sought bankruptcy protection in November 2022, bitcoin was going for $16,080. But crypto prices have soared as the economy recovered while the assets at FTX were sorted out over the past two years. A single bitcoin on Tuesday was selling for close to $62,675. That comes out to a 290% loss, a bit less than that if accrued interest is counted, if those investors had held onto those coins.

Customers and creditors that claim $50,000 or less will get about 118% of their claim, according to the plan, which was filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. This covers about 98% of FTX customers.

FTX said that it was able to recover funds by monetizing a collection of assets that mostly consisted of proprietary investments held by the Alameda or FTX Ventures businesses, or litigation claims.

FTX was the third-largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world when it filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2022 after it experienced the crypto equivalent of a bank run.

Sam Bankman-Fried apologizes for FTX collapse at sentencing

    05:03

CEO and founder Sam Bankman-Fried resigned when the exchange collapsed. In March he was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the massive fraud that occurred at FTX.

Bankman-Fried was convicted in November of fraud and conspiracy — a dramatic fall from a crest of success that included a Super Bowl advertisement, testimony before Congress and celebrity endorsements from stars like quarterback Tom Brady, basketball point guard Stephen Curry and comedian Larry David.

The company appointed as its new CEO John Ray III, a long-time bankruptcy litigator who is best known for having to clean up the mess made after the collapse of Enron.

“We are pleased to be in a position to propose a chapter 11 plan that contemplates the return of 100% of bankruptcy claim amounts plus interest for non-governmental creditors,” Ray said in a prepared statement.

FTX, technically, remains a company but its future is unclear. In early 2023, Ray said that he had formed a task force to explore reviving FTX.com, the crypto exchange.

The sordid details of a company run amuck — that emerged after its assets were seized — would hamstring almost any business attempting a comeback, but there may also be different parameters for cryptocurrency exchanges.

The rival crypto exchange Binance briefly explored acquiring FTX before it collapsed in late 2022. Its founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao, was sentenced last week to four months in prison for looking the other way as criminals used the platform to move money connected to child sex abuse, drug trafficking and terrorism.

Binance is still the largest crypto exchange in the world.

The bankruptcy court is set to hold a hearing on the dispersion of FTX assets on June 25.

  • Tom Brady Can Take Jokes About Gisele but Not Robert Kraft at Netflix Roast

Tom Brady Can Take Jokes About Gisele but Not Robert Kraft at Netflix Roast

    [ad_1]

Tom Brady may be the GOAT of football, but can he take a joke? The world found out on Sunday night, when the seven-time Super Bowl champion sat for The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which streamed on Netflix. Held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles as a part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest, the special featured Brady getting roasted by host Kevin Hart and a number of notable personalities, including Kim Kardashian, Ben Affleck, Peyton Manning, and even Will Ferrell in character as Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy. It also featured at least one joke that seemed to make the former Patriot piping hot.

    X content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

That joke came courtesy of Roastmaster General Jeff Ross, who took a shot at Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s arrest for allegedly soliciting prostitution at a massage parlor in 2019. (The charges were later dropped.) Ross said that after Brady was drafted by the Patriots, he told Kraft, “I’m the best decision your organization has ever made.” Ross joked that Brady then added, “Would you like a massage?” While the crowd laughed, a tense Brady got up from his seat, went up to Ross, and audibly whispered into his ear, “Don’t say that shit again.” Ross said, “Okay, okay” before pointing to Kraft and telling Brady, “He’s having fun. Look at him!”

Ross’s quip was fairly tame, especially compared to other jokes told over the course of the night. Brady’s ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, found herself in the line of fire as Kevin Hart took aim at her divorce from Brady as well as her new relationship with jiujitsu coach Joaquim Valente. “Gisele gave you an ultimatum. She said you have to retire or we’re done. But when you got a chance to go eight and nine and all it will cost you is your wife and your kids, you gotta do what the fuck you gotta do,” said Hart. He went on to joke that Brady “fucked” his longtime Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, by leaving the New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “You fucked him good. You did, Tom, you fucked your coach. But let me tell you something, people…that’s what you’ve got to do to maintain your happiness. You sometimes got to fuck your coach. You know who else fucked their coach? Gisele. She fucked that karate man.”

Hart didn’t stop there. “I mean, Jesus Christ, Tom. One of the smartest quarterbacks ever played a game. How did you not see this coming? Eight fucking karate classes a day. Eight karate classes a day, and she’s still a white belt. Fuck, Tom. The only bruises she had were on her ass. Everybody should have known it.” Comedian Nikki Glaser also took shots at Brady for his divorce. “You have seven rings. Well, eight, now that Gisele gave hers back,” she quipped. She also riffed about Bündchen’s new love interest, joking to Brady that it must be difficult knowing that “your ex-wife’s new boyfriend can beat your ass while eating hers.” Vanity Fair has reached out to Bündchen for comment.

Kim Kardashian received audible boos as she approached the lectern. But when she finally did get a chance to speak, she didn’t hold back. The reality TV star and mogul made jokes about her rumored flings with Brady, comparing him to Caitlyn Jenner. “I do know it would never work out. An ex-athlete, high cheek bones, silky hair—you remind me too much of my stepdad now,” said Kardashian. “Part of me thinks you would want to undress me just to try on my clothes. I know the transition from the NFL must have been really hard, but I think my stepdad is a great example for you. She’s one of the greatest athletes in the world, who’s proved you can do anything in this next chapter. You can become a commentator, a far-right Republican, or even a strong, confident woman.” Not bad for a girl with no talent.

When Brady finally got a chance to roast his roasters, he had a joke ready for Kardashian about her ex-husband, Kanye West. “I know Kim was terrified to be here tonight…not because of this, but because her kids are at home with their dad,” quipped Brady. As for his own ex-wife, Brady made one sly reference to his marital status. “There have been a lot of jokes tonight, but I miss the love of my life…football,” he said.

  • Caitlin Clark Is March

    Caitlin Clark Is March

    [ad_1]

You know the lore behind many men’s basketball greats: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajewon, Allen Iverson, Wilt Chamberlain…I could go on. We talk about shoe deals and the dominance of iconic brands like Nike and Converse thanks to the success of basketball.

I could name almost every team in the men’s National Basketball Association off the top of my head. I know star players like Joel Embiid, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jayson Tatum, LeBron James, Steph Curry. I can argue with the best of them that Embiid is a better center than Nikola Jokic…but what about the WNBA?

Women’s basketball has scandalously been a fourth-world sport for close to 30 years. The salaries barely above a livable wage, the game attendance often lackluster at best, the buzz behind jersey sales and star players is minimal. In fact, you rarely see many front-page stories on women basketball professionals.

All it takes is one…as Nike told Michael Jordan: it’s not about the shoe, but who’s wearing the shoe. Over the past few years, it hasn’t been the WNBA that’s drawing attention to women’s basketball…but the NCAA Women’s Basketball League.

“The One” in question is Iowa Hawkeye, Caitlin Clark. During the month of March, NBA devotees ripped their attention away to the NCAA March Madness tournament. And while the men’s teams generally dominate our screens, the women have recently stolen the show.

    Who Is Caitlin Clark?

    Caitlin Clark

    AP Photo/Abbie Parr

Hailing from Des Moines, Caitlin Clark quickly became one of the most talked about players in college basketball. This past season, the 6-foot guard averaged 32 points per game, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. She’s widely regarded as one of the greatest female basketball players of all time, and she’s only 22 years old.

As a senior with another year of eligibility due to the pandemic, Clark has options. She can continue to eviscerate all competition in her path and continue working towards an NCAA championship…or she can test her luck in the WNBA.
And then there are the multi-million dollar offers from 50 Cent and Barstool’s Dave Portnoy to play in their respective leagues.

Clark is set to become the highest paid female basketball player, and for a good reason. A first team All-American, the recipient of the John Wooden Award, an NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer
among both men and women — I could go on…

She’s making women’s basketball not only
cool, but she’s had an effect similar to the one Taylor Swift had on football. The Caitlin Clark Effect knows no boundaries: the 2023 NCAA Championship game versus Coach Kim Mulkey’s LSU Villainesses was the most-viewed women’s college game in history. Each team that Iowa played saw their highest attendance ever, and Iowa’s home games were seeing equally sold-out successes.

Celebrities are suddenly flying to Iowa just to see Clark play. During April 1’s LSU-Iowa rematch, Jason Sudeikus cheered on Clark. Her fan base includes Travis Scott,
Tom Brady, Billie Jean King, and Ashton Kutcher. A game in Iowa City now resembles the courtside section of Madison Square Garden.

Clark is a joy to watch. A true anomaly of a human whose basketball prowess borderlines on the robotic, it’s that impressive. She makes an NCAA game look like the prime Golden State Warriors…and she’s not alone in women’s college basketball superstardom.

Who Are The Women’s NCAA Basketball Stars?

    Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese

    Tony Gutierrez/AP

It feels like there’s a superstar on every team in the women’s 2024 March Madness tournament. This made the tournament a thrill to watch, because every game has been a head-to-head matchup of some of the hottest young talent heading into the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark’s next matchup are the UConn Huskies, who have their own star in guardPaige Bueckers. Bueckers has garnered a host of awards and accolades throughout her college career: the 2021 Wooden Award recipient, Big East player of the year and freshman of the year, etc.

Bueckers and the Huskies just knocked off USC’s Trojans led by true freshman guard JuJu Watkins. Watkins is yet another thrilling name in the realm of women’s hoops and the face in Nike and AT&T Wireless commercials alongside NBA stars like Joel Embiid.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_XCmAHlZ6w

And then there’s the aforementioned “villainesses” at Louisiana State University. Led by power dresser and controversial coach, Kim Mulkey, the LSU women’s basketball team is constantly the talk of the town.

After LSU lambasted Iowa last year in the tournament, all eyes were on the trash-talking, bold LSU Tigers. Guard Angel Reesebacked up her trash talk with a killer performance on the court, and off the court, she embraces the villain role with open arms.

She’s not wrong. The LSU team undoubtedly gets a majority of the heat from the public. It’s not lost on me that it’s often a bunch of grown men trolling the women’s physical appearance on social media and harping on their “unladylike” behavior rather than their commanding presence on the court.

One more point Angel Reese wasn’t wrong about: they’re like The Beatles. There’s fervent support and a cult-like following surrounding women’s college basketball. And as these powerhouses progress in their careers, there’s been a WNBA resurgence. Men are opting to watch 22-year-old Caitlin Clark over 39-year-old LeBron James.

Welcome To The Women’s Basketball Takeover

Don’t believe me? The proof is in the numbers. Games featuring Iowa and Caitlin Clark during her final season are reported as the most-viewed women’s college basketball games of all time across platforms like ABC, Fox, and NBC. Clark’s final regular season game – when she broke the scoring record – was the second most-watched game (men or women) of the season.

Tickets for the Iowa-UConn matchup are currently going for over $1000, and the Iowa-LSU matchup on April 1 recorded 12.6 million viewers. That smashes last year’s previous record of 9.9 million…but, before that the record was in 2002, at 5.6 million.

To put that in perspective, they’re not that far behind men’s basketball – the NC State-Duke game peaked at 15.1 million viewers. The game was more viewed than the 2023 World Series and NBA Championship. And although you can’t yet bet on women’s basketball, I would say we aren’t far behind.

It’s a new era for women’s basketball. A new investment. And we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Who Lost Money in FTX? Tom Brady, Kevin O’Leary and More | Entrepreneur

    [ad_1]

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

    Additional reporting by Sherin Shibu.

The collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX crypto empire was not only felt by those deep in the crypto community — some big-name entrepreneurs and celebrities lost a lot of money, too.

Although SBF allegedly led investors to believe he could bring them high returns with little risk, more than a million people may have been affected by the collapse, and big-spending-crypto-newbies quickly found out that trading crypto isn’t for the faint of heart.

RELATED: Sam Bankman-Fried Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for Multibillion-Dollar Crypto Fraud

In November, Bankman Fried was found guilty on seven counts of fraud, embezzlement, and criminal conspiracy for orchestrating “one of the biggest financial frauds in American history” after a bank run exposed an $8 billion hole in company accounts and a piggy bank relationship with Alameda Research crypto trading firm.

Bankman-Fried was sentenced on Thursday in a Manhattan federal court to 25 years in prison.

Southern District of New York Judge Lewis Kaplan said that Bankman-Fried was “extremely smart” and agreed with prosecutors that Bankman-Fried “wanted to be a hugely, hugely politically influential person in this country.”

Kaplan stated that the loss amount to the victims of Bankman-Fried’s crimes surpassed $550 million and that investors lost billions.

Meanwhile, FTX’s new CEO John Ray, who stepped in for SBF after the company filed for bankruptcy, said the company has located $5 billion in cash and other assets, and while they are not done discovering unearthed funds, they plan to also sell over $4.6 billion in additional holdings as well.

It’s unclear how the recovered funds will be divvied up, but typically in bankruptcy proceedings, only bond-holders are eligible to recoup a portion of their losses, while those with equity stakes are left at a loss, according to Markets Insider.

Sequoia Capital likely suffered the greatest loss for an outside investor in the exchange with its $200 million investment, which peaked at $350 million in January 2022, according to data obtained by Forbes.

RELATED: Who Is FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried?

While Sequoia reportedly told investors its FTX investment was offset by its $7.5 billion in realized and unrealized gains, Singapore investment company Temasek didn’t get as lucky.

The company reportedly invested $210 million for 1% of FTX and $65 million for 1.5% of FTX U.S. but has since determined its stakes to zero.

Additionally, investment company Paradigm is said to have invested $215 million, while the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan invested $75 million, and has since written its investment to zero.

Here’s a look at some of the famous faces who lost big in the FTX crypto collapse.

    Tom Brady

Tom Brady is the most famous face to promote and invest in FTX — and he also may have suffered the greatest individual loss. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback owned over 1.1 million common shares of FTX Trading, which equaled about $45 million before the company went bankrupt, according to Bloomberg.

While his investment is now zero in the wake of the collapse, he previously advocated for the exchange and appeared in several promotional ads with his now ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

    Gisele Bündchen

Along with her now ex-husband, Tom Brady, the supermodel also lost a significant portion of her wealth in the exchange. Bündchen reportedly owned 680,000 FTX shares, which were valued at about $25 million.

    Kevin O’Leary

The Shark Tank entrepreneur was a fierce advocate for SBF’s FTX before the crypto exchange’s fall. As a paid spokesperson for the company, O’Leary owned 32,000 shares in FTX and 110,000 shares of FTX US. He said his shares were valued at $1 million during a U.S. Senate Banking Committee in December, adding that he has since “written them off to zero.”

O’Leary told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” in December that he was paid around $15 million to act as a paid spokesperson for the brand and put just under $10 million into the crypto exchange. But he said his crypto investment is now equal to zero.

    Robert Kraft

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft also fell victim to FTX. He reportedly owned about 630,000 total FTX-related shares through KPC Venture Capital LLC, an entity connected to the Kraft Group.

Using O’Leary’s valuation, the NFL team owner may have lost an eight-figure investment.

    Robert Belfer

Billionaire oil baron Robert Belfer, who was once known as the heir to bankrupt gas company Enron, also reportedly lost millions with FTX’s collapse. Two firms linked to the Belfer family held shares in both FTX and FTX US with a combined stake of $34.5 million, according to court documents obtained by the Financial Times. Belfer was also notably entangled in Bernie Madoff’s infamous Ponzi Scheme.

    Anthony Scaramucci

Donald Trump’s former communications director was also wrapped up in the FTX collapse with his alternative investment company, SkyBridge Capital. Last September, FTX acquired 30% of SkyBridge Capital, per The Street, and while the details of the deal are unknown, Scaramucci said he was also at a loss despite the purchase.

“We lost money in general because the overall portfolio is going down as a result of this debacle, so yes I guess yes,” he said when asked about the collapse in November at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore.

RELATED: ‘I Didn’t Steal Funds, and I Certainly Didn’t Stash Billions Away’: Sam Bankman-Fried Speaks for the First Time Since His Arrest

    Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry was one of the many celebrities to endorse FTX with his various commercials and his 2021 partnership with the brand. Like Brady and Bündchen, Curry also got a stake in FTX for his work with the company.

Curry’s team, the Golden State Warriors, was also entangled in the scandal after FTX agreed to pay $10 million for an international rights sponsorship deal that gave the exchange in-area signage, exclusive brand placements, and the rights to the team’s NFTs in December 2021.

Curry is also named in a class action lawsuit that claims the celebrities who endorsed FTX participated in deceptive strategies to “induce confidence and to drive consumers to invest in what was ultimately a Ponzi scheme,” according to the lawsuit.

Sam Bankman-Fried, Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, Kevin O’Leary, Shaquille O’Neal, Udonis Haslem, David Ortiz, William Trevor Lawrence, Shohei Ohtani, Naomi Osaka, and Larry David were also mentioned in the suit.

    Naomi Osaka

Tennis star Naomi Osaka also signed a long-term partnership agreement with FTX in March that was supposed to help bring women into the crypto world, according to Reuters. She was given an equity stake in the company and received compensation in the form of crypto.

    David Ortiz

Red Sox baseball legend David Ortiz also signed on to be an FTX ambassador in October 2021 and agreed to be compensated in cryptocurrency, per CoinDesk. At the time, he agreed to release multiple NFT collections, while FTX agreed to sponsor the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic and donate to the David Ortiz’s Children’s Fund. It’s unclear if the fund will be required to repay the donations if they are found to have been made with customer money.

Gisele Bündchen Finally Addressed Those Rumors Claiming She Cheated on Tom Brady

    [ad_1]

When they first filed for divorce nearly a year and a half ago, tabloids quickly started questioning if Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady cheated on each other during their relationship. Since then, the infidelity rumors have only ramped up for Bündchen as she started dating her jiu-jitsu trainer, Joaquim Valente, with some reports alleging that the Brazilian supermodel started her relationship with the trainer before her divorce from Brady. But after months of speculation, Bündchen is finally putting those rumors to rest.

In an interview with the New York Times to promote her new cookbook, Nourish
    ,
the 43-year-old model slammed the accusations that she started dating her current boyfriend before ending things with her ex-husband. “That is a lie,” Bündchen emphatically told the Times. She went on to explain that she wasn’t interested in all the gossip surrounding her love life, telling the outlet, “I really don’t want to make my life a tabloid. I don’t want to open myself up to all of that.”

Bündchen and Brady met on a blind date in December 2006. The pair dated for a few years before tying the knot in February 2009, and eventually went on to welcome two children: a son, Benjamin, born in 2009, and a daughter, Vivian, who they welcomed in 2012. Bündchen was also a stepmother to Brady’s son Jack, who he had with his ex-wife, actress Bridget Moynahan. While they lasted for 13 years as a married couple, Bündchen and Brady ultimately filed for divorce in October 2022. On the same day of their divorce filing, their marriage was declared to be “irretrievably broken” and was dissolved.

During her interview with the Times, Bündchen seemingly described her marriage with Brady as an “unhealthy relationship.” While she did not mention Brady directly, she made the comment while discussing the criticism she faced in the wake of their divorce.

“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” she said of the cheating rumors. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family.” She added, “Of course for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”

Bündchen also noted in the interview, “No one really knows what happens between two people, only the two people in the relationship.”

As for her current boyfriend, Bündchen gave some insight into how their romantic relationship started. “This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first. It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent,” she said of Valente, who she has been dating since June 2023.

  • Here’s what Tom Brady had to say about Travis Kelce and Andy Reid’s Super Bowl incident

Here’s what Tom Brady had to say about Travis Kelce and Andy Reid’s Super Bowl incident

    [ad_1]

Tom Brady knows a thing or two about being caught up in a high-stakes moment.

The NFL legend turned analyst, and the rest of the world, turned into Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday. During the game, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was caught yelling in coach Andy Reid’s face and grabbed his arm after the team’s on-field fumble.

This interaction caused quite a stir, but Brady, on the other hand, called the interaction typical “family issues.”

“There’s always little family issues and of course, I don’t mind seeing it ’cause I was a part of a lot of those things,” Brady said during a Feb. 12 episode of “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.” “Emotions are so high. You are definitely not centered and balanced. You’re not in a meditative state at that point. You are fully determined to go out there and to win. So I think a lot of the things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back.”

The former Patriots quarterback also applauded “Big Red” for his composure in such a tense moment.

“Coach Reid handled it just awesome, like he always does, ’cause he just said, ‘I was a little off balance and Travis is such a competitor,’” the podcaster added. “I love that because it just speaks to his leadership ability. It speaks to the self-confidence that Coach Reid has in himself, too, ’cause he doesn’t take that personally at all. He doesn’t look at that and feel like someone offended him.”

After the game, Reid commented on the situation and had a positive outlook.

“[Travis Kelce] came over and gave me a hug and said ‘sorry about that,’” Reid said in an interview with ESPN. “He wants to be on the field and he wants to play. There’s nobody I get better than I get him. He’s a competitive kid, he loves to play, and he makes me feel young.”

Kelce ultimately led the Chiefs with nine receptions for 93 yards as they defeated the 49ers 25-22 in an overtime thriller.

“He keeps me young. He tested that hip out,” Reid said with a laugh. “He caught me off-balance. Normally I get him back a bit, but I didn’t have any feet under me.”

More than 123.4 million people watched as the Kansas City Chiefs topped the San Francisco 49ers in overtime on Sunday.

BOSTON – The Patriots may not have been in the Super Bowl, but New England was on full display with a star-studded Dunkin’ commercial starring Tom Brady, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and others.

Social media was buzzing during the ad, which aired during the Kansas City Chiefs’ overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

During the ad, Affleck seeks to become a popstar and crashes wife Jennifer Lopez’s recording studio alongside bandmates Damon and Brady.

The group calls itself “The DunKings” and wears bright Dunkin’-themed tracksuits bearing the name.

“Touchdown Tommy on them keys!” Affleck announces to the room as the performance gets underway. When the song wraps up, Damon reluctantly says “How do you like them … donuts?” in a nod to his famous “Good Will Hunting” line.

As the DunKings leave the studio, Lopez tells Brady that “You can stay.”

According to Dunkin’, DunKing tracksuits will be on sale Monday at noon.

Justin Bieber added to his collection of eclectic accessories this week with a vintage yellow gold Rolex Day-Date with a money-green “Stella” dial, a rare and collectible watch that strikes the perfect Bieber-esque balance between freaky and refined. The watch was introduced in the 1970s as part of a series of colorful lacquered dial options for the 36mm Day-Date, but like many bold ideas, the Stella seems to have been ahead of its time. Despite the popularity of colorful pieces from brands like Piaget and Cartier during that era, it seems Rolex buyers weren’t quite yet ready for the Stella’s exuberance, and it’s thought that many Stella dials were later replaced with more traditional ones in white, black, and silver over the years.

As Cam Wolf notes in this week’s edition of Box + Papers, however, the times have finally caught up with the Stella’s colorful personality—which fits perfectly alongside recent Rolex drops like the Puzzle Dial Day-Date and “Celebration” dial Oyster Perpetual—and adventurous collectors like the Biebs are snapping them up. Speaking of which: If you’re looking to add a Stella to your own collection, Cam notes that this week is an excellent time to do it, with a selection currently up for bids at the Monaco Legends auction in a tasty variety of flavors from eggplant to mint chocolate chip.

If anyone was concerned about what Tom Brady would do following his NFL retirement earlier this year, you can rest easy in the knowledge that the former quarterback is keeping busy cementing his reputation as a GOAT watch collector. Following recent appearances wearing a rose gold Puzzle Dial Rolex Day-Date, a solid gold “John Player Special” Rolex Daytona, and an extremely rare platinum Richard Mille, his hot streak continued courtside at the WNBA Finals this week with a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980-1R-001. While not quite as rare as some of the other pieces in Brady’s rotation, this version of Patek’s iconic sports watch has a solid rose gold case that shines all the brighter against a moody black gradient dial, making for an extremely tasteful addition to the team.

Messi looked suitably jubilant in the stands sporting a crisp white Inter Miami tee and one of the most coveted Patek Philippe watches of the year: the new Calatrava 6007G-011. Introduced in the 1930s, the Calatrava is a foundational piece in the Patek Philippe universe, with a refined, understated style and countless dressy variations. • Introducing The American Royal Couple: Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce

Introducing The American Royal Couple: Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce

    [ad_1]

Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Taylor Swift, after almost a decade, is dating someone born in the United States of America. And it’s none other than star Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce.

Rumors about the pairing been circulating for a few weeks. They started when Travis Kelce went on his podcast —
New Heights, with his brother Jason of the Philadelphia Eagles — and said he made Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it at her concert, but could never get it to her.

Normally, you’d think the story ends there. Tough luck for Travis, but no.
Then, Jason Kelce went on Philadelphia sports radio WIP and confirmed the two were definitely an item. And finally, Taylor Swift broke the internet when she was spotted at the Chiefs-Chicago Bears game in Kansas City this weekend, next to Travis’s mother, Donna Kelce.

I’ve been wondering for years how to get women into football…it turns out all you need to do is get Taylor Swift to date one of the players. Easy enough, now Swifties all over my socials are musing what a “tight end” is (he is supposed to both block and score points) and why scoring looks so easy (it isn’t, he’s just that good).

    Who is Travis Kelce?

Born in 1989 (I’m sure Taylor is aware of the number), Kelce is widely acknowledged as one of the best tight ends of all time — even surpassing former New England Patriot, and Tom Brady’s right-hand-man, Rob Gronkowski.

Drafted into the NFL in 2013, Travis credits his brother Jason for saving his football career. Travis, on scholarship at the University of Cincinnati, tested positive for marijuana and was kicked off the team before Jason got him back on track and playing football after a one-year suspension.

Now, Travis plays alongside arguably the new GOAT quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, in Kansas City. The duo have won two Super Bowls together, most recently in 2023 against Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles…the only brother duo to ever play in the Super Bowl.

He confirmed that he asked Taylor to come see him by saying he saw how she rocked Arrowhead, and wanted to know if she wanted to come see how he rocks it. Travis scored a touchdown in her honor.

Travis is known for his style, always pulling up in a lavish gameday fit. Yesterday was a blue and white jacket set that fits Taylor’s upcoming
1989 (Taylor’s Version) theme…so much so that the Kid Super renamed the set to “1989 Bedroom Painting Set” after spotting Travis wearing it.

Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Actually Dating?

All signs are pointing to yes as Taylor and Travis were seen leaving Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, 2023 (12 years on the day that Taylor performed there for
Speak Now) in Kelce’s convertible last night. It’s one of Taylor’s more public dates in the past, but we are here for America’s princess dating football royalty.

Apparently, Travis even rented out the restaurant for the Chiefs afterparty and their date! While we wait for more, shop styles similar to the
New Era jacket T-Swift was wearing here.

  • Gisele Bündchen Opens Up About Tom Brady Divorce And Not Getting ‘What I Hoped For’

Gisele Bündchen Opens Up About Tom Brady Divorce And Not Getting ‘What I Hoped For’

    [ad_1]

Gisele Bündchen is ready to talk about her divorce from NFL veteran Tom Brady.

The Brazilian model recently celebrated her 43rd birthday and quit a lifelong habit, but is still processing the end of her marriage. Bündchen, who shares two children with Brady, says she is content with her new life, however — and wouldn’t change a thing.

“I look into my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she said in a preview of an upcoming “CBS News Sunday Morning” interview. “I wouldn’t have any other life, I wouldn’t have done it if they say, ‘Can you change something in your life?’ I wouldn’t change absolutely anything.”

When host Lee Cowan asked if her divorce was part of that perspective, Bündchen candidly told him: “It’s not what I dreamed of and what I hoped for.” While she and Brady announced an amicable split on Instagram last October, Bündchen said she is still learning to fully accept it.

“My parents have been married for 50 years, and I really wanted that to happen,” she told Cowan. “But I think you have to accept sometimes that the way you were in your 20s, it’s, you know — sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart.”

Reports surfaced that the couple had retained divorce attorneys last October, and their 13-year marriage was finalized weeks later. Bündchen decried rumors she had split with Brady because of his return to football as “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”

Brady famously retired from the NFL in February 2022, only to renege weeks later and rejoin the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He ultimately retired “for good” after his contract expired earlier this year, and is now reportedly dating actor Bradley Cooper’s ex, model Irina Shayk.

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen said in an interview that she “wouldn’t change absolutely anything” about her life.

    Michael Loccisano via Getty Images

Bündchen reportedly met Brady on a blind date in 2006. They married in 2009 and welcomed their first child together, Benjamin, later that year. Bündchen had their daughter Viviane in 2012 and co-parented Brady’s son from a previous relationship.

“The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always,” she shared after finalizing the divorce.

Bündchen later moved to an expansive property in Costa Rica and spent her time building a solar-powered house in hopes of growing her own food. She’s since reportedly bought a $9 million estate in Florida and continues to co-parent her kids with Brady.

“I mean, he’s the father of my kids, you know?” Bündchen told Cowan. “So I always wish him the best. And I’m so grateful that he gave me wonderful children. And I think when a door shuts, other doors open.”

  • Gisele Bündchen Reveals What Happened When She Quit Drinking

Gisele Bündchen Reveals What Happened When She Quit Drinking

    [ad_1]

Time comes for us all, but wine doesn’t have to. In an interview with People, Gisele Bündchen discussed quitting drinking, and what happened when she went dry.

“Right after I turned 40, actually, I felt a huge difference between when I had the glass of wine and when I didn’t have the glass of wine,” she said. “It’s socially accepted to have a glass of wine. And people even say, ‘Oh, it’s healthy for you.’ Well, it is not healthy for me. If you want to ask of your body what I ask of my body, which is a lot, I can’t be having all these things (alcohol, caffeine) because they add up.”

Some of what she asks of her body includes parenting two kids (13-year-old Ben and 10-year-old Vivian), working out “every single day,” in her words (walking, yoga, weights, meditation), and the strains of work and travel as she co-parents with ex-husband Tom Brady, from whom she filed for divorce last October. She also, she said, was helping both of her parents through health problems.

“I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings.”

She said she “immediately” felt the difference when she decided to quit drinking.

“I became more clear,” she said. “I felt a bit more foggy before. Now I’m very sharp and very present and I notice things that I didn’t notice before. When I’m not drinking, I’m sleeping much better. You have to be loving to yourself. You ask a lot of your body, you’ve got to do a reset. You have got to take care of this only vehicle you got, right?”

Bündchen defended self-care against those who might characterize it as selfish.

“No one is going to do it for you,” she said. “When you feel good, you’re a better mom, you’re a better friend, you’re calmer, you’re more patient, you’re more loving, you’re more grounded. So you can’t feel guilty about prioritizing yourself. Because that’s loving you and loving the people you love the most, which are going to be impacted by how well you are. Because if you’re sick, everyone’s hurts.”

It may also be considered self-care (in a financial sense, at least) that Bündchen is supporting her daughter’s passion for horse jumping while still not allowing her to get a second horse. “She’s obsessed,” she said of her daughter, who, as a certified Horse Girl, claims that she wants to be a professional equestrian.

“Now she’s already trying to get other horses,” she said. “She’s already like, ‘Mom. They told me I have to have a new horse to jump higher.’ I’m like, ‘You’re 10, calm down.’ Her horse jumps like a meter 20. ‘You’re going to be fine.’ I think it’s fine where you’re jumping right now.’ But she’s so courageous.”

She did, however, recently purchase a horse farm so Vivian can ride her horse, Item, in private. But that’s a no to a second horse, you hear? She has her limits.

  • Greg Olsen Isn’t Satisfied Warming Tom Brady’s Seat: “Make It Hard as Hell for Them to Replace You”

Greg Olsen Isn’t Satisfied Warming Tom Brady’s Seat: “Make It Hard as Hell for Them to Replace You”

    [ad_1]

Olsen reportedly makes $10 million a year as Fox’s lead commentator, a figure that will drop to $3 million when he is bumped to the number two role by Brady. Contrary to some suggestions that he could jump to another network next season, Olsen apparently isn’t going anywhere. “Greg will be on the number two team next year when Tom joins Fox,” Olsen’s agent, Peter Raskin, told me in an email. Olsen said his approach to this season will be “no different than it was last year,” but that hardly means he’s tuned out all the noise.

“I’m not gonna sit here and lie to you and give you some cliché answer about [how] I never think about it,” Olsen said of the situation with Brady. “I think that’s all bullshit. We’re all human. We’re all competitive.”

Like Brady, Olsen had his career in broadcasting set in motion before his playing days ended. He did his first audition for Fox in 2015, when he was out in Los Angeles visiting a friend. Two years later, while still playing for the Panthers, Olsen spent his bye week in the booth as a guest analyst for Fox, returning for an encore in 2019. He also dabbled in commentary on local sports shows in Charlotte, where he still lives with his wife, Kara, and their three children.

That may sound like someone who had long been plotting a career in television, but Olsen downplayed his broadcasting ambitions. “It never really was on my radar in any official manner,” he said. “It was never really like one day I said, ‘Hey, I want to get into TV.’ Over time, things came my way, and over that same amount of time, each opportunity became slightly bigger and bigger.”

Olsen called it quits following the 2020 NFL season, using the retirement announcement to also reveal his plans to join Fox. The network immediately paired him with Burkhardt, who had covered some of Olsen’s high school football games as a local reporter in New Jersey.

However he arrived at the job, Olsen has thrown himself into the work ever since.

He spends each week leading up to his assigned game poring over materials prepared by Fox’s research team––team stats and various pieces of media coverage––and uses them to feed his “game board,” a running compilation of notes and nuggets that he finishes by Friday night. The document will inform his commentary during the game, arming him with storylines and context to inject into the broadcast. On Saturday, after arriving in the home team’s city, Olsen spends hours trying “to play the game in advance of the game happening,” he says, rattling off a litany of scenarios to dissect prior to kickoff.

“What are we gonna talk about if it becomes a blowout? What are we gonna be talking about if it’s a close game? What do we wanna talk about if each team scores 30 points? What are we gonna talk about if neither team has scored a touchdown yet, and it’s the third quarter?” Olsen said.

“Your comfort on game day is a reflection of your work all week. There’s nothing that’s gonna happen in that game that you’re not able and comfortable talking about.”

That preparation has shown up on Olsen’s broadcasting tape, setting him apart from lazier peers who show up on Sunday bereft of any meaningful observations. Olsen doesn’t have that problem, but he did once have a bit too much to say. Richie Zyontz, Fox’s longtime NFL producer, helped rein that in, frequently reminding Olsen that he didn’t have to cram every idea into the brief interlude between plays. For Olsen, the broadcast didn’t really start until he heard Zyontz admonishing him in his earpiece. The game is long. You don’t have to get every thought in right away. Olsen acknowledged “trying to tell everybody everything on every play.” Now, if he has three points to make, Olsen will pick just one and save the rest for later.

By the end of last season, Olsen had come into his own. He showed restraint on the mic while winning over fans with his cheery personality and sharp analysis. At 38, and only a few seasons removed from his own playing career, Olsen displays an understanding of the modern NFL without larding his commentary with buzzwords. Olsen knows his shit, but he isn’t showy.

The Super Bowl in February was a showcase for Olsen’s best attributes as a broadcaster. He spent all week preparing to discuss the Philadelphia Eagles’ propensity to go for it on fourth down––something the team did twice on a single drive late in the first half, which culminated with a touchdown to put them ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Does ex husband Tom Brady moving on with Irina Shayk help Gisele Bündchen’s freedom? Here’s what we know

    [ad_1]

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady‘s separation came as a major shock to netizens across the world last year.  After 13 long years of marriage, the supermodel and the NFL star announced their divorce in 2022, surprising their fans and well-wishers. Ever since the two split, dating rumors have floated around the former couple who share two children together.

While Bündchen has been linked to her jiu-jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente, Brady has been linked to reality television star Kim Kardashian and supermodel Irina Shayk. After several reports, the former football player was spotted getting cozy with Shayk, sparking the dating rumors a massive notch. Here’s how Bündchen is reported to be feeling about the same.

ALSO READ: Did Irina Shayk ‘throw herself’ at Tom Brady? Report claims model ‘followed’ NFL star despite his disinterest

Are Tom Brady and Irina Shayk dating?

According to the pictures obtained by TMZ, Brady and Shayk spent two days hanging out with the quarterback picking the model from Hotel Bel-Air and driving them to his home. The two were all smiles and the model was reported to have only left his place the next morning. Paparazzi pictures also show Brady stroking Shayk’s cheek as they sit in his car.

While some reports claim they met in May at the wedding of rich art heir Joe Nahmad and model Madison Headrick, others claim the two were already friends before that. Meanwhile, TMZ claimed that Bündchen is “not happy at all” about her ex-husband dating Shayk but a recent report by the portal sees a source close to the model rubbishing these rumors.

How does Gisele Bündchen feel about Tom Brady dating Irina Shayk?

“Why wouldn’t she be happy for Tom? She divorced him. It is helpful to her freedom that he moved on,” the source said. They added that Bündchen and Shyak are not friends, but have known each other professionally from having worked in the same industry for years. The source concludes that the two have been cordial every time they’ve crossed paths.

Meanwhile, Brady has been linked to Kim Kardashian recently but sources claim the two are just friends. Shayk has had two prominent previous relationships with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bradley Cooper. While the model was with the football player from 2010 to 2015, she dated the actor from 2015 to 2019 and has a daughter named Lea De Seine with him. Bündchen and Brady have a son named Benjamin and a daughter named Vivian.

According to reports, Shayk barely “let [Brady] out of her sight” and was “throwing herself at him” during the wedding in May. Brady was also reported to have told the model that he “wasn’t interested” but the rest is now history with the recent images of them surfacing on the Internet. Shayk’s representative slammed the story back then calling it “completely false” and a “totally malicious” account of the star-studded Italian wedding celebration.

Now,  Rubin, the host of the event, has decided to address the growing speculation surrounding the two celebrities.

Kim Kardashian is dating Tom Brady?

Micheal Rubin while attending the Shawn Carter Foundation’s 20-year anniversary black-tie gala in New York City on Friday addressed the rumors of Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady presumably dating. “Honestly, they’re just friends. It’s just the crazy rumors that get out there,” he told Entertainment Today on the red carpet.

Rubin further shared, “Tom was with me a ton of the night and we were having fun, and Tom just doesn’t go out that much.” He added, “It’s a rare sighting. And Kim doesn’t drink much.”

Michael continued, “So I think Kim’s 10 or 12 shots she had, [and] Tom, you know, being fun, it just leads to rumors. We always want to laugh about it.”

Earlier this month, the renowned reality star, Kim Kardashian, and the retired NFL quarterback, Tom Brady, were among the high-profile guests attending Michael Rubin’s illustrious white party in the Hamptons.

According to a report in ET, shortly after the party, a source revealed, “Kim and Tom spent time hanging out and talking at Michael Rubin’s white party and had a good time together.”

Amidst ongoing speculations about a potential romance between Kim and Tom, another insider mentioned to the publication in May, “Tom and Kim have been in touch because Kim is looking to buy property where Tom has a vacation home.” However, this source emphasized that the two are simply “just friends.”

Dating rumours between Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady continued to heat up following Michael Rubin’s annual white party earlier this month. Now, Michael himself is addressing the growing speculation surrounding the two stars.

Michael spoke with ET’s Rachel Smith at the Shawn Carter Foundation‘s 20-year anniversary black-tie gala in New York City on Friday, and he talked about the reports that have tried to link Kim and Tom in recent weeks.

“Honestly, they’re just friends,” Michael said. “It’s just the crazy rumours that get out there.”

According to the Fanatics CEO, “Tom was with me a ton of the night and we were having fun, and Tom just doesn’t go out that much. It’s a rare sighting. And Kim doesn’t drink much.”

“So I think Kim’s 10 or 12 shots she had, [and] Tom, you know, being fun, it just leads to rumours,” Michael added. “We always want to laugh about it.”

Earlier this month, the SKIMS founder and the retired NFL quarterback were among the star-studded guests at Michael’s famous white party in the Hamptons. And while the extensive guest list included stars such as BeyoncéJAY-ZJennifer LopezBen AffleckKendall Jenner, and Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim and Tom found some time to chat.

A source told ET shortly after the party, “Kim and Tom spent time hanging out and talking at Michael Rubin’s white party and had a good time together.”

Kim split from her husband, Kanye West, in 2021. As for the retired Super Bowl champion, he and Gisele Bündchen ended their marriage the same year.

Despite persistent romance rumors, A source told ET back in May, “Tom and Kim have been in touch because Kim is looking to buy property where Tom has a vacation home.” The source added that the two are “just friends.”

As for Michael’s appearance and support for JAY-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation at the black-tie event over the weekend, the entrepreneur and business mogul had nothing but praise for the artist and his organization.

“Jay does so much to make the world a better place,” Michael shared. “When he does something new, I always want to be behind him. I think about all the people in the world that I’ve worked with. There’s probably not somebody that I can think of that’s done more to just do great things. So we want to be here to support the boss.”
