Selena Gomez is heading to the big screen to play one of the biggest music icons ever in Linda Ronstadt. — with a personal sign-off from the legend herself … TMZ has learned.

The speculation got kicked into high gear Wednesday after SG posted a photo of herself reading Linda’s 2013 memoir, ‘Simple Dreams’ … without much context or anything at all. That was enough to get folks to wonder if they were collaborating, or if Selena was teasing a future acting gig. Mind you, this was around the same time she said she was breaking.

Anyway, sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ that Selena has, in fact, been tapped to portray Linda in a forthcoming biopic — although, we’re told it’s in the very early stages … and the rest of the deets about other cast members and a studio being attached are hazy.

With that said … what we do know is that Linda personally approved of Selena herself, and we’re told she’s happy that SG is attached to the project — feeling like she’s the perfect fit. In fact, our sources say Selena actually met with Linda a couple months ago at her home where they spoke privately.

We’re told Linda and her team are directly tied to the production — so they’ll oversee this … with our sources noting the plot will revolve around her book … which was optioned.

Of course, people are losing their minds about this news for a couple different reasons — one, Selena certainly feels like great casting for something like this … ’cause she does have a passing resemblance to Linda. Plus, they’re both of Mexican descent — so there’s that.

Naturally, there’s also the singing element — Linda’s got a unique, robust voice … and Selena is obviously a trained professional singer herself. So technically, she can pull this off.

With Selena’s casting, ya gotta figure this is gonna be a splashy film with some major talent … and with biopics like this in the recent past — there may even be awards buzz around it.

Before things got hot and heavy under the covers … Ryan Scott Anderson asked Gypsy Rose Blanchard to marry him while she was still in prison — a moment from 2022 he fondly recalls in her new doc.

Speaking in Lifetime’s “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” Louisiana teacher Ryan said he was spurred to pop the question 4 months after they first met in person … when the famous former inmate quizzed him on where he saw their relationship going.

He says Gypsy told him over the phone she was smitten and had developed romantic feelings for him — a confession that delighted him as he’d already fallen in love with her ages before.

Following the convo, Ryan tied an engagement ring to his chain … sneaking it into the visitation room at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri during his third visit to see her.

Gypsy, who was still in prison when asked about the proposal, is heard in audio footage reminiscing … saying he took her by the hand and told her he loved her.

Ryan adds their chemistry was electric … and that just by sitting across from Gypsy — who looked cute with her makeup done — he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. That’s when he popped the question.

So far, he’s taken his husband duties seriously … staying by Gypsy’s side since she was released from prison Dec. 28 after serving 7 of her 10-year prison sentence.

A man in Philadelphia is dead after being run over by a train … and he ended up on the tracks because he was fighting another man while they were on the subway platform.

Video shows two men fighting in the subway station when one guy takes a punch and falls down onto the tracks just as a train is pulling in and runs over his body.

Folks who saw the incident play out start screaming and rush over to look for his body under the train.

Police say the man died in the incident, and a person of interest was arrested at the next station.

The fatal fight went down Thursday evening at 34th Street Station in Philly’s University City area … which is between the campuses of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University.

Cops say they are investigating the man’s death as a homicide.

It’s already causing a headache for commuters … train service is stopped in the area and folks are instead being forced to hop on buses to get where they need to go.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard‘s back on the outside … she’s just been released from behind bars and is out on parole.

Gypsy had been serving a 10-year prison sentence after being convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

As we reported … Gypsy was granted parole in September and the Missouri Department of Corrections scheduled her release for Dec. 28, three years before her release date.

Remember … Gypsy was sentenced to a decade behind bars back in 2016 after pleading guilty to her mother’s murder, a case that spawned an HBO documentary and a Hulu scripted series.

You’ll recall … Dee Dee was accused of forcing Gypsy to pretend to be disabled for years, holding her hostage and even tying her up in a bed after Gypsy tried to escape her clutches.

Dee Dee suffered from Munchausen by proxy … a mental disorder where someone fabricates illnesses or actually causes injury to someone for sympathy or attention.

Gypsy’s then-boyfriend, Nick Godejohn, admitted to murdering Dee Dee in 2015 to help Gypsy escape her mother.

While Gypsy is now enjoying some newfound freedom, Godejohn was convicted of murder and is serving a life sentence.

GRB, now 32 years old, has said in prison interviews she felt more free behind bars than she was when she was living with Dee Dee … and she says she regrets her mother’s murder.

It’s Christmas, and Hollywood was most certainly ready to celebrate … getting together with their loved ones, and more often than not — wearing matching getups for the holiday.

Stars far and wide threw up photos of themselves with their family members Monday to ring in Xmas … and from the looks of it, just about everyone was down to get comfy and rock matching onesie PJs … or something very similar.

Almost of all of them were posing in front of their Christmas trees and presents, and good amount highlighted their children’s joy … the holiday really is for them at the end day.

It’s been a pretty hectic and chaotic year in the world, but it’s cool to see folks coming together and settling down for at least one weekend … especially the rich and famous.

Kanye West‘s name was written onto an Israeli missile that’s apparently going to be used in the war in the Middle East — and a prominent MMA fighter is taking credit for the stunt.

A photo was posted Sunday by Haim Gozali, an Israeli mixed-martial artist who was once affiliated with Bellator — and who’s been very outspoken on the conflict between Israel and Hamas … oftentimes mocking the death of Palestinians over these past few months.

He caught heat back in November for writing the names of Muslim UFC fighters onto a bomb that seemed to be on the front lines — including Khabib Nurmagomedov and others who’ve expressed support for Palestine. Haim was clearly trying to taunt them.

It’s unclear if he himself is the one that’s actually writing the names, or if he’s having someone else in the IDF do it on his behalf — but in any case, the guy has owned it all.

Now, a new photo of some missiles apparently in the possession of Israeli soldiers has been posted to his Twitter account — and he’s roping Kanye in … in very crude and cruel fashion.

Above the pic of the missile — which looks real — he wrote, “@kanyewest you don’t like us jewish. So  we don’t like you too !!!” The picture itself features a shell with the writing … “Kanye West Flying to Gaza Haim Gozali.” The photo echoes what he’d posted before.

Haim appears to have been recently banned from X, but he’s back now … and reveling in the ability to post again — with this image being one of the first things he’s thrown up.

Of course, the reason he’s even invoking Ye has to do with KW’s antisemitic rhetoric over the past year or so. He hasn’t explicitly talked much about the war, but he has spent a lot of time in that region for the past several months working on and finishing his new album.

Sophie Turner is back on mommy duty just in time for the holidays … it’s her turn to look after her two children as part of her child custody arrangement with Joe Jonas … but a family reunion may be in the cards.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Sophie’s got the kids through Jan. 7 … which means she’ll probably be celebrating Christmas and New Year’s with Willa and Delphine over in London.

But, get this … Joe is in England too — he was recently spotted at London hot spot Chiltern Firehouse — so it appears there’s at least a decent chance Joe will get to see the kiddos on Xmas too.

Of course, the big question then becomes … will Sophie and Joe spend time together with their daughters for the holidays, which are traditionally a family affair?

The girls have been with Sophie since Dec. 16 … and they’re allowed to travel with her in the United States and the United Kingdom … but the kids have to be dropped back off to Joe in NYC on Jan. 7.

Remember … Joe had the kids for Halloween and Thanksgiving, so the parents are splitting holiday duties under their temporary child custody agreement as they work through a divorce.

Meanwhile, Sophie was spotted making out with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson earlier this month in London … before she had the kids.

Lil Uzi Vert says a career change is inevitable … he’s done feeling the pressure of making albums and feels a life of creating women’s clothes is his new calling.

Those were Uzi’s sentiments when we talked to him at Terminal 27 this week … just a few months from the last time we spoke to him. Perhaps it was the L.A. rain, but Uzi sounded pretty somber confirming to us that “LUV Is Rage 3” will be his final album.

Uzi says he still loves making music, but has lost his love for the craft. It makes sense … if you recall, it took tooth and painted nail to get his latest album off the ground.

He tells us construction for his clothing company’s home office has already started, but it doesn’t sound like his girlfriend JT will be involved in the creative direction — Uzi says she has her own fashion brand to promote.

If Uzi’s really calling it quits, it’ll be at the top of his game — he was part of two colorful No. 1 albums this year — his own “Pink Tape” and Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2” … and he won’t fully retire until they deliver a video for their “Everybody” collab.

Madonna had some words for Andy Cohen … playfully airing her grievances with him after spotting him at her “Celebration” tour in NYC.

The Queen of Pop advised the talk show host to steer clear of any future digs on “Watch What Happens Live” … with a clip showing her walking up to him with a bottle in hand during Saturday’s show, asking, “How f****** lucky am I, Andy?”

“If you say one more bad thing about me on your show,” she began jolting her drink forward enough for some spillage near Andy — cautioning: “Oh yeah, you’re gonna be in so much trouble. You little troublemaking queen!!”

A public talking to from Madonna would make many want to dissipate into a deep, dark hole — but Andy was delighted by the scolding — mouthing “I love you” to the star.

In fact, he was so thrilled he shared the clip on IG, writing that as a lifelong Madonna fan, he was blown away to be called a “troublemaking queen” — and couldn’t wait to go back.

The duo’s paths have crossed before IRL … with them posing together for a snap as far back as 2009 … though it looks like Andy’s consistently found himself in the fan zone with her.

As for what jibes Madonna was referring to … we don’t know for sure, though earlier this year, Andy said he was so over the Material Girl not materializing on his show.

Travis Scott bailed on his show in Chicago Friday night … and it’s still a mystery why it was postponed.

The rapper was supposed to hit the stage at United Center in the Windy City around 8 PM after the gates were scheduled to open for fans to come in about an hour and a half before the event.

But the venue posted a message on X in the afternoon, explaining that the concert had been postponed with no future date announced. Once the show is rescheduled,   all tickets will be honored at the door.

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are back to their squabbling ways … with things so toxic their marriage is now completely beyond repair … so say sources close to them.

Our sources tell TMZ, the pair’s latest falling out doesn’t have anything to do with the newly released police body cam footage emerging of their explosive fight from Nov. 20 — instead, it’s over their continued money woes, their home, and the overall state of their marriage.

The pair appeared to have reconciled after the explosive incident at their home … even enjoying a hibachi lunch date … though, it didn’t last long.

In fact, our sources say their close friends say no amount of therapy will fix things between them … they just need to accept that and move on with their lives separately — adding it’s the healthiest thing that can happen for them and their kids.

One of their kids actually made the 911 call alerting cops to their infamous fight weeks at their home earlier … and recently released footage showing police struggling to calm down a fuming Kroy.

Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s girlfriend got arrested on a felony charge after video appeared to show her smacking him with a 2×4 multiple times, and damaging his Bentley.

Dominican rapper Yailin La Más Viral was busted Thursday following a domestic dispute at Tekashi’s Florida home.

According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, cops were called to 6ix9ine’s pad and when they got there Tekashi told them he had been arguing with Yailin all day and it escalated to the point where she hit him and his Bentley.

Cops say Tekashi told them Yailin grabbed a 2×4 during the fight and started hitting him … and he accuses her of kicking his Bentley’s sideview mirror and using a ground stake to break the windshield.

The police report says Tekashi also claimed Yailin pulled his hair … and he showed officers cell phone footage of the fight.

Tekashi ended up posting some of the video on social media … and it appears to show Yailin wailing on him with a 2×4, hitting him at least 4 times before being taken away in handcuffs.

Cops say Yailin told them Tekashi was withholding her money and passport from her, causing her to become upset. Police say she told them she tried to leave Tekashi’s pad but he stopped her, and that’s when she decided to damage his car “to cause him financial hardship.”

In the end, police say the video footage gave them probable cause to arrest Yailin for aggravated battery, witness tampering and felony criminal mischief. She was taken into custody and transported to central jail.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes aren’t going to give up their reaction to their former spouses’ new relationship … saying it would be “toxic” for them to join all the chatter about it.

The former ‘GMA3’ anchors spoke out, only so slightly, about the news regarding their exes during the second episode of their podcast, “Amy and T.J.” — chatting about certain “headlines” that have been popping up recently — referring to Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue now seeing each other.

T.J. says they anticipated that the dating rumors would come up, which seems to back up the report even more … but he says they won’t be diving deeper into the subject. He added, “We are not going to get into that back-and-forth game because gossip is toxic.”

The big news came last week … T.J. and Amy’s exes have reportedly been together for about 6 months, bonding over their divorces in the wake of the TV hosts’ hooking up.

Amy and T.J. maintain there was no cheating when they started dating.

Marilee and Andrew even snapped a photo together in 2016, which recently surfaced … with Marilee writing a caption on Instagram about how great it was to catch up with Andrew and Amy.

The couples were friends and hung out together from time to time. It seems unlikely they’ll still be doing that after the swap.

Jada Pinkett Smith says she and Will may have been completely dunzo by now, were it not for literally having some sense slapped into them … indirectly, of course, because poor Chris Rock was the actual target.

Jada further opened up about the famous slap to Daily Mail, saying, “I nearly didn’t even attend the Oscars that year, but I’m glad I did,” adding, “I call it the ‘holy slap’ now because so many positive things came after it.”

Jada said, “After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him.”

As Jada revealed in her memoir, she and Will have been separated since 2016, but judging from their public statements since the book’s release, they’re back on track, although the scope of their relationship is still a mystery.

Will had previously co-signed on his wife’s take, said back in October … “We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship]. We call it ‘brutiful.’ It was brutal and beautiful at the same time.”

Flo Rida‘s performance at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball Detroit brought good feelings out for Flavor Flav, surprising the crowd as Flo’s hype man and running into an old friend backstage … his ‘Flavor of Love’ Season 1 winner Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander!!!

The animated rap legend joined Flo for “Club Can’t Handle Me” … which ended in jolly fashion with Flo being carried off stage by a beastly Santa Claus.

A rep for Flav tells us he still has one more stop on the iHeart Jingle Ball Tour after making cameos in both Detroit and L.A.

As for his reunion, we’re told Flav follows Hoopz on social media and loves watching her updates, but he hasn’t seen her in person in years … neither planned on running into the other at the Jingle Ball.

As you can see in the video, the two were excited to hang — they remixed the song “Hey Mickey” to insert Nicole’s name in the lyrics … a little inside joke from their past.

Blueface says his fatherly instincts were forced to kick in early in the morn … this after he allegedly got word that Chrisean had left their son in the care of her BFF.

In the wee hours of Monday, Blueface went live on IG while holding his son, Chrisean Jr., and appeared to have taken the infant from Chrisean’s friend Marsh … who was on the phone attempting to contact someone. It looks like she was babysitting the kid for mom.

Blueface claims Chrisean abandoned her motherly duties for a booty call … called the entire scene irresponsible on her part — labeling her a “booth bitch” for allegedly ditching their kid in the middle of the night.

The “Thotiana” rapper’s anger didn’t end with Chrisean … he promised Marsh that his fiancee Jaidyn Alexis was waiting for her at another destination to give her the beats, but the camera cut off before any such violence could be captured.

Chrisean has yet to respond to BF’s bad parenting claims but she did post her latest tracks after being up late in the studio — juggling mom and rap life has its challenges!!!

Beyoncé is not letting haters dim her shine … she’s going even lighter in the face of accusations she’s trying to look white … and Jay-Z‘s supporting her.

The singer is doubling down on her platinum blonde hair and silver outfits across the pond in London … where she’s celebrating her ‘Renaissance’ movie premiere.

Beyonce’s been dogged by accusations she’s trying to “look white“ with her platinum hair … but she‘s paying it no mind, based on what she wore out to dinner with her husband.

As for the controversy, it all started when Beyonce was seen in a silver dress and platinum hair during the L.A. premiere of the movie … with folks online going so far as to claim she’s lightening her skin.

The comments didn’t sit well with Tina Knowles … she blasted the haters as racist bozos, defending Beyonce’s look as part of the theme of her ‘Renaissance’ premier … which is all about silver.

Former child star Evan Ellingson‘s official cause of death has been revealed … and fentanyl is to blame.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department finished its investigation, telling TMZ the late actor died from an accidental fentanyl overdose.

We broke the story … Evan was found dead Nov. 5 at a sober-living home in San Bernardino County, officials said there was no foul play involved and law enforcement found drug paraphernalia at the scene.

Cops looked at the case as a possible OD … and Ellingson’s autopsy and toxicology report revealed fentanyl as the culprit.

While Ellingson struggled with drugs in the past, his father Michael told us he was doing better as of late.

Evan is best remembered starring opposite Cameron Diaz in the 2009 movie, “My Sister’s Keeper,” where he plays her teenage son. Ellingson was also famous for his recurring role as Kyle Harmon on “CSI: Miami” … appearing in 18 episodes over 3 years.

Tragedy struck on the high seas as a passenger tragically died aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

A passenger tells TMZ that a 16-year-old boy lost his life after falling from the balcony to the deck Saturday … as the ‘Allure of the Seas’ vessel headed from Port Canaveral in Florida to Nassau, Bahamas, in the early hours. It’s unclear if the fall was accidental.

We’re told extensive efforts were made to save his life … with an announcement urging passengers to donate blood at the medical tent.

However, a source with knowledge tells us the boy passed away later at the hospital … not on the ship.

Photos we obtained also show the aftermath of the devastating scene … with caution tape on the balcony and a tent on the deck visible.
