T.J. Holmes details unfortunate update following painful injury

T.J. Holmes has been in a lot of pain of late following an unfortunate running injury that he’s hoping to heal in time for an important event coming up.

The former GMA anchor took to Instagram at the start of the week to share a photo of his foot resting in a bucket of water, and explained that he was suffering from an achilles tendon, which causes pain in the heel when walking and running.

Not only is T.J. in pain as a result, but this has impacted his running abilities during his training for the Chicago Marathon, which is taking place on Sunday September 13.

He wrote in the caption: “Still trying to get this achilles in time for the Chicago marathon – on SUNDAY!”

T.J. and his girlfriend Amy Robach are both huge fans of running and have taken part in a number of marathons together, including the New York Marathon, as well as local runs in New York City and further afield.

They spend a lot of time training together and often share updates on their progress and running routes on social media.

T.J. Holmes updated fans on an unfortunate injury

At the start of the year, Amy opened up about their goals for the year on their podcast, Amy & T.J., where she said that running a marathon was among them.

She explained: “I mean definitely a marathon is on mine for sure. Probably New York. We were talking, we were throwing around Chicago yesterday as a possibility and one of these days, I do wanna do London, but I’ve missed the boat for this year because it’s in April. That’s on my vision board.”

In fact, Amy and T.J. fell for each other during their training for the New York Marathon back in 2022. Their romance was outed by the press who posted photos of them together, which resulted in them losing their jobs on GMA.

After keeping low profiles for most of 2023, they returned to the public eye last fall with the announcement of a new podcast, Amy & T.J., where they had the chance to tell their side of their story in their own words.

They chose to release the first episode of their podcast on December 5, which was the one year anniversary of their dismissal from ABC.

They have since explained that they had both separated from their respective partners before getting together. In fact, Amy’s ex-husband Andrew Shue, and T.J.’s ex-wife Marilee Fiebig, are now a couple too.

  • Oop! T.J. Holmes Says He “Checks Out” After Arguments With Amy Robach

Oop! T.J. Holmes Says He “Checks Out” After Arguments With Amy Robach

While they haven’t officially been together for a year yet, T.J. Holmes says he finds himself checking out when an argument with his girlfriend and former colleague, Amy Robach, erupts.

The news anchor made sure to mention that he doesn’t argue with the 50-year-old; they prefer to call it a “hiccup,” which stems from a disagreement between the pair.

T.J. Holmes Checks Out When An Argument Erupts

But Holmes isn’t the type that puts up a fight when it comes to being at odds with Robach. In fact, he does quite the opposite.

“I am really, really bad about this. I don’t scream, I don’t yell, I don’t do anything. I don’t name-call, I don’t get aggressive. Nothing, but I will check out,” he explained on a recent episode of their podcast, ‘Amy & T.J.’

He steps away from an argument to diffuse the situation and think clearly before trying to patch things up with Robach.

Holmes explained how he’s also not the type of guy who expects his woman to say sorry for the argument to be over and then done.

“I have to work through it, and I’m trying to get better at doing it quicker,” he added.

    Amy Robach’s Hesitance To Apologize

At the same time, the former GMA3 host said that Robach tends to take her sweet time to apologize to him, which he can’t stand.

“It drives me crazy. Why? Because ‘I’m sorry’ comes 24 hours late,” the Arkansas native explained. He couldn’t understand why Robach didn’t apologize immediately instead of dragging out the issue, which only added more fuel to the fire.

“It’s how you react in the moment that makes all the difference in the world because, in that moment, we have a chance to go this way or this way,” he added. “And if you go that way, I’m out. I’m done. … I’m checked out for the day.”

That’s when Robach interjected to clarify that he actually checks out for two days, which she hates. During those moments, she doesn’t know how to rectify the situation.

“I would rather have him yell at me than freeze me out for two days. … I’m like, I don’t know what to say, what to do, what he thinks,” Robach admitted.

The Pair Are Now Podcast Hosts

Holmes and Robach debuted their podcast earlier this month and have used it as their go-to platform to address some of their biggest controversies this past year.

In November 2022, news broke about their secret relationship, which led many to believe that the ex-colleagues, who were still legally married, were cheating on their significant others.

Robach married her longtime partner, Andrew Shue, in 2010. In the same year, T.J. tied the knot with his now ex-wife, Marilee Fiebig. By October, however, Us Weekly obtained court documents revealing that the two had settled their divorce.

For months, fans have been speculating on social media about what they initially considered an “affair.” But Robach and Holmes clarified that they were already separated at that time.

“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case,” Holmes assured.

He and Amy had already initiated divorce proceedings with their exes before they became romantically involved with one another.

Many people wondered why neither of them would clear their name amid the scandal that subsequently cost them their news anchoring positions at ABC. However, they hinted in the episode that they were being advised by their mediators and attorneys, indicating that they couldn’t speak out… until now.

Halloween came and went — and so did SAG-AFTRA guidelines, according to some celebrities. The union specifically instructed performers not to dress up as characters from struck companies; rather, they could dress as more generic or animated characters for the holiday. Megan Fox decided to ignore the rules with her “Kill Bill”-inspired costume, and quite literally tagged SAG-AFTRA in her Instagram post. “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter slammed Fox for her defiance online. HuffPost’s Kelby Vera reported details on the fallout here.

On the note of holidays, it’s tiiiiiiiiiiime! Mariah Carey has officially defrosted, marking the countdown to Christmas. The Songbird Supreme wasted no time capitalizing upon the season — really, her season — posting Christmas content as soon as the clock struck 12:00:00 a.m on Nov. 1. Speaking of wasting no time, former GMA anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have made their entanglement official with… a podcast.

One year after the scandal, on Wednesday, the journalists announced their new iHeartMedia podcast, “Amy and T.J.” set to debut Dec. 5. The pair posted a joint Instagram post of themselves embracing each other captioned, “How’s this for instagram official? #silentnomore…Listen on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.”

Candidly, your relationship wasn’t exactly silent in the first place because, well, you got found out… but congrats to the happy couple. Now, let’s get into the next edition of The Culture Catchall.

    We’re Still Talking About It

    • Since Tuesday, we haven’t heard much from comedian Amy Schumer, who has been very vocal in her support for Israel this month. Earlier this week, Schumer shared a video clip of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. defending Israel‘s right to exist. Then, Bernice King, daughter of the civil rights legend, chimed in to clarify that her father would demand a cease-fire if he were alive. • A reckoning is due for the “Real Housewives” franchise. After an exposé in Vanity Fair, incredible accusations have sent shockwaves through Bravo’s “Housewives” universe: racism, substance abuse and much more, lest we forget Bethenny Frankel’s call to unionize reality TV stars earlier this year. Read up on the drama here.
    • TikTok food reviewer Keith Lee has left the Atlanta food scene in shambles, chile. Though he checked out multiple spots, one experience stands out to me, in particular. After making a visit to The Real Milk & Honey restaurant, Lee politely chronicled his experience with the infamous establishment: its inconsistent rules, wait times, etc. Then, the owners responded with a corny online skit asking, “Who is Keith Lee?” Well, the internet gave them a rude awakening. Rolling Stone has the full details.
    • “Bridgerton” actor Ruby Barker, who played Marina Featherington, called out Netflix and Shondaland for neglecting to offer aftercare or support following “two psychotic breaks.” During a podcast interview, Barker said the first psychotic break occurred after wrapping Season 1, and a second episode transpired in 2022. Per Variety, Barker was a series regular during the show’s first season and returned as a guest actor for Season 2. Learn more from HuffPost’s Ron Dicker here.

  • T.J. Holmes And Amy Robach Announce New Podcast 1 Year After Romance Scandal

T.J. Holmes And Amy Robach Announce New Podcast 1 Year After Romance Scandal

Former “GMA3” co-hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are preparing to break their silence one year after they were embroiled in a very public relationship scandal.

On Wednesday, the journalists announced in a joint Instagram post their new iHeartMedia podcast ― “Amy and T.J.” ― which is set to debut on Dec. 5. The post featured a photo of the two smiling while embracing each other.

“How’s this for Instagram official?” the caption read, with a hashtag ”#silentnomore.”

The upcoming podcast will intend to explore “meaningful conversations about current events, pop culture and everything in between,” a press release stated, adding that “nothing is off limits.”

“Amy and T.J.” will also mark the first time the couple will speak publicly since they became subjects of a media frenzy last year, according to the release.

Robach and Holmes’ romantic relationship was revealed publicly in November 2022 after the Daily Mail published photos of the pair having drinks and staying at a cottage in upstate New York.

They were taken off the air in December, before a spokesperson for ABC News announced the following month that the two were leaving the network.

Robach and Holmes were both married to other people when their involvement was initially reported. Neither of the former “GMA3” co-hosts have made a public statement about the status of their respective relationships before they got together.

Holmes reached a divorce settlement with attorney Marilee Fiebig last month.

Robach and Holmes have been celebrating their relationship on Instagram in recent weeks.

Last week, Holmes shared a slideshow of photos of him with his former “GMA3” co-host in a stadium watching the football team from his alma mater, the University of Arkansas. One photo showed him hugging Robach from behind.

Robach posted a photo to her Instagram account days prior that showed two seats with “reserved” signs with her and Holmes’ names. The post referenced the mascots for the University of Arkansas, and her alma mater, the University of Georgia.

She added the hashtag, “#truelove” to the caption of the post.
