  • Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden admits it ‘was short and sweet’ as she appears emotional over exit

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden appeared to get teary-eyed on It Takes Two this evening (October 6) as she spoke about her early exit from the show.

Last weekend, the first star was eliminated from the dance show, and unfortunately for Amy and partner Thomas Skinner, their time was up. While many fans thought it was the right decision, they all wanted more for Amy Dowden.

Amy has had a tough few years after her cancer battle, and having to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing last year due to injury. Everyone was excited to see her make her return, and now she has left after just two weeks.

Amy Dowden emotional on Strictly It Takes Two

Strictly favourite Amy Dowden appeared to get teary-eyed during her and Thomas’ exit interview with It Takes Two host Janette Manrara – who was covering tonight’s episode as Fleur East was at a wedding.

As the pair appeared on the sofa, they were quizzed on all things to do with their Strictly exit, including how they both felt.

And it seems Amy was pretty upset that the pair have gone. When Janette asked the dancing pro what she will miss about working with Thomas, Amy appeared to get emotional.

She revealed: “It was his work ethic. But also the laughs in the studio. Just getting to know Tom. It was a short but sweet time.”

Amy also praised Tom for his learning abilities, reminding everyone he had never danced before.

She admitted: “I was so impressed. An absolute beginner. In terms of the entertainment world, you are not an actor or performer. I was so proud of you. And the development from the first day learning to get on the dance floor. You worked so hard, and it was so much fun.”

Viewers were left upset watching Amy get emotional on the sofa, wishing she was able to stay on the show longer.

One viewer penned: “Hopefully they will bring Amy back for the Christmas special this year. I will miss her dancing with a partner for the rest of this series. I wish she was given a better celebrity.”

Another added: “I am absolutely devastated for Amy. But don’t worry everyone, 2026 will be her year.”

“I feel so sorry for Amy Dowden,” a third fan commented.

Thomas Skinner reveals his family are ‘gutted’ he is out

During their interview, Thomas – who called Amy his “friend for life” – also opened up on how he feels about getting eliminated on the first vote off, and even gave an insight into his family’s reactions.

When Janette asked him how those at home are feeling that he has gone he joked that he hasn’t “told them yet” before giving a real answer.

He said: “They are gutted. They are. But they love Amy. They were all watching on Saturday night and last night. They are sad. But I will obviously carry on dancing.”

As for how he enjoyed his time on the dance competition, Thomas admitted: “I loved it. It was a lovely night. I know I am not one of the best but we had such a laugh.”

  • Who left Strictly tonight? First star is eliminated after tense dance-off

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing kicked out its first star of 2025 tonight (October 5), but who left the show?

Last night saw all 15 celebrities take to the Strictly floor. Ellie Goldstein performed a gorgeous waltz, Lewis Cope came under fire for “showing off” and Motsi Mabuse faced backlash over her comments towards Karen Carney.

The real drama, though, came tonight, with two stars finding themselves in the first dance-off of the season.

So what happened on Strictly tonight? Read on and we’ll tell you!

Who left Strictly Come Dancing tonight?

Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden found themselves dancing that Bonkers salsa again as they danced-off against Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova.

Chris was also forced to perform his Viennese waltz again for the judges. And, ultimately, all four judges chose to save the rugby player, with The Apprentice star being given his marching orders.

    Viewers react

The majority of Strictly fans seemed to think the judges made the right decision. However, many said they were upset for Amy Dowden, who is a huge favourite among viewers.

“The correct result although I’m surprised that he went straight into the dance off and I thought they’d have been more popular. So happy that Ross [King] is safe I knew that dance would save him,” said one.

“Never warmed to Tom and it has nothing to do with the negative press he’s been receiving I just don’t like him at all. They should have given Amy a better partner for her comeback show. That’s sad,” said another.

“I feel for Amy. Not a fan of Tom but they were stitched up with that dance – everything about it was set up for failure,” a third commented.

“Feel desperately sorry for Amy, an absolutely lovely person who deserved more than to be saddled with the person they got,” said another.

“Poor Amy. But hopefully we’ll see her again if she needs to take over from Dianne [Buswell] to be Stefan Dennis’ partner,” said another, touching on fears pregnant Dianne may be forced to exit the competition early.

  • Strictly star slammed as viewers declare ‘get him out’: ‘That was dreadful!’

    [ad_1]

Fans of Strictly are hoping that contestant Thomas Skinner will be the first to be booted off this year.

The former Apprentice star, 34, has been paired with Welsh dancer Amy Dowden for the 2025 series. However, since being announced for this year’s line-up, Thomas has been recognised as this year’s most controversial celeb.

He has been very open about being a Donald Trump fan and has been accused of having “flirtations” with Reform UK.

Not to mention, he admitted to cheating on his wife weeks after they tied the knot. Thomas claimed it was a one-off. However, the other woman insisted it was a three-month affair.

Tonight (September 27), Thomas and Amy performed their first dance of the series, which was a pasodoble.

When it came down to the judges’ scores, Craig Revel Horwood gave a two and Motsi Mabuse a four. Meanwhile, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke both gave a five.

As a result, Thomas and Amy received a total score of 16 during the first week.

    ‘Get him out’

Following tonight’s live show, Strictly viewers made it clear that they weren’t fans of Thomas. In fact, some viewers insisted he should be voted off first.

“Shame there isn’t any eliminations this week,” one user wrote on X.

“Praying to God he is first out. That was bloody dreadful. Poor Amy,” another person shared.

“Get him OUT,” a third wrote.

“Oh Amy, I’m so sorry you deserve so much better than Thomas Skinner,” a fourth said.

Despite the backlash online, Thomas said he was “over the moon” after his performance.

This weekend, no contestant will face the public vote. However, next week, the lines will be open following everyone’s second performance next Saturday (October 4). On Sunday (October 5), one celebrity couple will leave the competition.

  • Emotional Strictly Come Dancing star admits to cheating on wife during ‘shameful’ affair

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing 2025 contestant Thomas Skinner has confessed that he previously cheated on his wife, and called it the “biggest mistake of his life”.

The social media star – who has made the headlines in recent weeks – is married to wife Sinead. The pair are parents to three children: a son Henry, five, and two-year-old twin daughters, Roma and Darla.

However, in a recent interview, Thomas revealed that just weeks after he tied the knot to Sinead, he cheated on her in what he called a “moment of madness”.

Strictly star Thomas Skinner’s ‘two-week affair’

Talking to The Sun, Thomas opened up about the “biggest mistake of my life” when he had a “two-week fling” with a beauty clinic owner behind his wife’s back.

I woke up feeling absolutely terrible

The fling happened shortly after Strictly star Thomas and Sinead got married in May 2022.

According to Thomas – who reportedly fought back the tears as he opened up about the affair – he encountered the woman at a pub. There, she offered him “cosmetic slimming treatments.”

    Thomas ‘felt so guilty’

He told the publication: “I had a fling. It was nothing more than that. It was the one time, it was a mistake, I woke up feeling absolutely terrible about it.”

“I felt so guilty, I told my wife. I let her down in that brief moment of madness where I wasn’t thinking, where I didn’t appreciate what I had.”

It just shows something so brief could ruin your life

Thomas went on to note that he would have understood if Sinead didn’t want anything to do with him following his confession.

“When I told my wife, I fully understood if she was to never speak to me again. No one else made me do what I’ve done. But it just shows something so brief could ruin your life.”

    Thomas on Strictly 2025

Thomas’ shock confession comes ahead of his Strictly Come Dancing debut later this month. However, the news of Thomas appearing on Strictly hasn’t gone down well with some people.

Fans have predicted the Essex social media personality could be voted out first due to his support for Donald Trump. And his conviction for handling stolen goods has also concerned fans.

He also made the headlines when he walked out of a Strictly press event – something he later “set the record straight” about.

  • A day in the life of the Apprentice contestants: 3am wake-up call, three-day tasks and how iconic phone ringing scene is entirely planned

A day in the life of the Apprentice contestants: 3am wake-up call, three-day tasks and how iconic phone ringing scene is entirely planned

    [ad_1]

The Apprentice returned to BBC One tonight (February 1), with a whole new batch of contestants battling it out for Lord Alan Sugar‘s affections.

Now in its 18th series, the business mogul takes absolutely no prisoners – as this year’s hopefuls will have already discovered.

It’s so intense that, according to series 15 star Thomas Skinner, candidates “don’t even realise the camera crew are there”.

Here, speaking exclusively to ED! on behalf of Sky Casino, Tom tells us what happens when the cameras stop rolling, from boardroom to bedroom and back again…

The Apprentice stars given a very early wake-up call

Life as a contestant on BBC series The Apprentice starts very early in the day. Or, should we say, in the middle of the night.

“You wake up about three or four in the morning, you do a filming shot of getting into the minibuses, then you go and see Lord Sugar at the start of the tasks, and he tells you what you have to do,” Tom explained.

Viewers see Lord Sugar calling The Apprentice house, waking the contestants up. However, Tom revealed that’s not entirely the case.

“You get 20 minutes after the phone rings to get ready to do the task. But they do tell you the night before what time the phone will ring so you can set your alarm for half an hour earlier to start getting ready,” he said.

    The tasks

Tom – who is a dad of three – told us: “One task takes three days on The Apprentice. Then, literally the next couple of days, you’re actually doing the task and everything that you do has got to be filmed on camera. If it’s not filmed on camera, it doesn’t count on the show.”

And, while the contestants do have phones to communicate with each other, that’s all they can use them for. When it comes to tasks, it’s all about brain power – and reading a map!

“You can’t use internet or phones – you can’t use nothing. They take your phones off you before you go in the house, so you’ve got to just use your head!”

Inside the boardroom on BBC One series The Apprentice

“A boardroom on The Apprentice takes a few hours, but on the show you’re only in there for 20 minutes,” said Tom.

“They have to re-film bits if they don’t get it right. I’d just sit there, be confident and talk when you have to talk,” he said, offering advice to this year’s contestants. “I was just being myself the whole way through.”

He added: “The Apprentice really doesn’t differ from what we see on TV. It really is what it is – it’s a business show, it’s a competition. It’s obviously set up for the cameras, but it is pretty much you just get your head down and do the best you can in each task.

“You don’t even realise the camera crew are there. You just crack on with the camera in the background, and you just want to do the best you can.”

    And relax…

After a pretty full-on day of running around town, the contestants are given a bit of downtime. And then it’s time to hit the sack.

“When you’re back from doing the task, you have a bit of down time,” Tom told ED!. “Then you go to bed about 9 or 10pm, ready to be up again at about 3am.”

The Apprentice is on Thursday nights on BBC One at 9pm.
