  • TV Show Book Adaptations Arriving In 2026 So Far

    [ad_1]

Several best-selling books will make way for returning TV shows and new ones in 2026.

One of the first major arrivals in January was A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on George R. R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight, after Netflix’s series based on Alice Feeney’s thriller His & Hers. The prequel series to Game of Thrones has been a long time in the making. Part 2 of Bridgerton Season 4, based on the third book in Julia Quinn’s series, arrives Feb. 26 after leaving audiences on a major cliffhanger ask.

March will see the arrival of a rarer type of book adaptation — the second season of The Last Thing He Told Me based on a concurrent sequel novel that Laura Dave wrote to her first book of the same name that inspired the Apple TV series. And April will welcome Margo’s Got Money Troubles to the Apple TV series family.

  • Taylor Swift Reveals Which Summer I Turned Pretty Team She Supports

    [ad_1]

It seems like The Summer I Turned Pretty fever has gotten to Taylor Swift. The romantic drama series, adored worldwide for its emotional storytelling and love triangle, has captivated not only fans but also celebrities—including the global pop icon herself. Recently, Swift was asked to pick a side between Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah, sparking excitement among fans of the hit series.

Taylor Swift discloses if she is on Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah on The Summer I Turned Pretty

During her October 7 appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Taylor Swift gracefully avoided taking sides in the heated The Summer I Turned Pretty debate.

When asked whether she supports Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, the singer humorously responded that she’s “Team Summer I Turned Pretty.”

Swift, however, beautifully backed her unexpected neutral stance. The singer explained how the show has utilised her music in the most thoughtful ways to highlight the significant moments in Belly’s life. Swift said, “I’m just, I’m here for whatever is next. I support your choices, girl.”

Showing her emotional attachment to the female lead, the singer expressed that she feels her music comes from Belly’s mind. Swift added that she will forever be Team Belly no matter who she ends up with.

Following Swift’s heartfelt comments, series creator Jenny Han reposted her clip on Instagram Stories. During her appearance on Jenna Bush Hager’s podcast, Open Book, Han highlighted the importance of Swift’s songs in the series, especially “The Way I Loved You”.

Han had written a handwritten note to Swift explaining that it would mean the world to her to be using her songs for the series. She believed it would be the greatest gift to her and the fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty. “She really — I felt like she is someone who bets on women. And I felt like she bet on me”, the author added.

Be it “Lover,” “Cruel Summer to this Love,” or “Cardigan,” Swift’s songs have beautifully elevated the emotional scenes of The Summer I Turned Pretty. The feature of “Dress” and “Out of the Woods” (Swift’s Version) in the series finale further cemented the connection of her music with Belly.

  • Your Fave The Summer I Turned Pretty Song Moment, But Make It An ISMÊ Swim Set

    [ad_1]

Our sun-soaked, The Summer I Turned Pretty-core era may have “ended” with the series finale (fineee, there’s a movie coming, don’t panic), but bikini season? Yeah, she’s eternal. Especially for us international girlies. Enter ISMÊ Swim, born between Brazil and California thanks to Isabella Bailey—aka the girlboss who once schlepped around a whole rack of bikinis, hawking them on campus for 12 hours straight. Now, she’s leveled up with bead-and-charm embellishments, Sports Illustrated creds, and swim that honestly feels like it should’ve been part of Belly’s wardrobe rotation.

So why not throw them in the mix? We lined up our fave ISMÊ styles with four iconic TSITP music moments—whether you’re Team Conrad, Team Jeremiah, or just Team “I showed up for the soundtrack.” (Beware, there are spoilers for season three past this point.)

The Honey POP received samples from ISMÊ Swim in exchange for editorial promotion.

Season Three, Episode Two: ‘Forever and a Day’ By Benson Boone

Golden hour is basically the show’s unofficial extra cast member, always swooping in to remind us how Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher see Belly. But the brightest beam of all? When our curly-haired little brother whips out a proposal while Benson Boone belts ‘Forever and a Day.’ Belly does the whole dramatic pause (gotta keep him sweating as he did just cheat on her and all) before saying yes, and they seal it with an “I love you.” Cute, right? Except, if you look closer, the light’s not all flawless — there are those little shadowy crescents dancing on the pavement and across their faces, hinting that maybe love isn’t just sunshine and butterflies, but insecurities too.

Fashion-wise, ISMÊ Swim’s Areia Underwire top and bottoms nail the moment: hypnotic yellow velvet with beaded straps peeking through, like sunlight throwing sparkles where you least expect them.

Season Three, Episode Three: ‘No Surprises’ By Radiohead

‘No Surprises,’ croons Radiohead—except, surprise! Jeremiah blurts out his engagement to Belly to the family, right after his mom’s memorial. Timing, babe, timing. Belly’s in a soft blue dress, a shade that usually screams the calm and steady feelings she has around him… except nothing about this scene is steady. Her mom’s fake laughing, Conrad’s gripping the serviette like it’s a stress ball, and Jeremiah’s over here serving chaos. It’s the kind of moment where a ring pop proposal almost makes more sense.

But if we’re talking better accessories, ISMÊ Swim’s Sky bikini is the real showstopper. Its baby-blue velvet mirrors Belly’s dress, while the dangling gold shell and star charms on the straps twinkle like little musical notes—pretty distractions that shimmer even when the scene hits a sour chord.

Season Three, Episode Five: ‘Wild Horses’ By The Rolling Stones

Belly’s busy blowing out any birthday-candle fantasies of Conrad being the one and doubling down on Jeremiah—but those hairline cracks in Fisher’s world are starting to show. Enter a peach stand, Conrad’s soft-focus gaze, and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Wild Horses’ playing like the soundtrack to a slow-motion heartbreak.

The peaches aren’t just props—they echo the juicy palette of ISMÊ Swim’s Citrus bikini. With its thicker turquoise straps holding everything in place, striped triangles of yellow, orange, and red feel like sunlit fruit slices, and the cheeky turquoise faux-stone charm adds just the right dash of sweetness. A little wild, a little wistful—much like Conrad’s expression watching her eat that peach.

Season Three, Episode 11: ‘Dress’ By Taylor Swift

Belly’s lens on Conrad has always been scribbled in Taylor Swift ink, so when ‘Dress’ scores their Paris reunion—the one they swore would never-ever happen—it’s nothing short of sizzling. Taylor whispers, “Say my name and everything just stops,” and Conrad breathes, “I dream about this,” like he’s been taking notes straight from her diary. Naturally, sparks fly, lips lock, and destiny gets its way. Just as inevitable? You clicking add to cart on ISMÊ Swim’s Panther one-piece. Sleek and sultry with a crisscross back tie and a flirty little ring detail, it’s basically the swimsuit version of a secret rendezvous: snug, striking, and impossible to forget.

  • TSITP‘s Lola Tung Subtly Responded to Rumors She’s Dating Noah Beck:  ‘Some Men Need More Time…’

    [ad_1]

Lola Tung is one of the breakout stars in the hit Amazon series The Summer I Turned Pretty. She’s discussed what it’s like to be the subject of a very popular teen show that deals with a dramatic love triangle.

After the Season 3 premiere, the Amazon show posted a community guidelines statement regarding the cast and crew of the show. ICYMI, the show deals with a love triangle between Belly (Tung) and brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). Fans online have been fervent and passionate about the plot for the past two seasons, but the show wanted to clear things up. “Cousins is our safe place. Everything good, everything magical. Let’s keep the conversation kind this summer,” they posted. “We have ZERO tolerance for bullying and hate speech. If you engage in any of the following you will be banned: hate speech or bullying, targeting our cast and crew, harassing or doxxing members of the community.”

Related: Who Does Belly End Up With in The Summer I Turned Pretty? S3 Isn’t ‘Exactly the Same’

Tung addressed the hardships of playing a character for whom so many people have opinions. “When people have an attachment to the characters, they want to see it come together at the end,” she told Teen Vogue. “I’m so grateful that they care so much, but people get a little scary about it. Please don’t threaten to kill someone if something doesn’t go your way — I promise you, it’s not that serious. Jenny [Han] is so smart and she cares so much about the story and making it the best story that it can be. It will be okay.”

Does Lola Tung have a boyfriend?

Lola Tung doesn’t share her personal life online, and for a good reason. In her Nylon It Girl profile, she revealed that her dating life was pretty mundane compared to her characters.

“It’s hard out here,” she told the publication. “I’m not an apps girl. They’ve always scared me, even in my college days. My friends would be like, ‘Let’s play Tinder,’ and scroll through their Tinders. I’d be like, ‘OK, I’ll just look over your shoulder.’”

“I’m of the mindset of ‘it’ll happen if it’s right,’ she affirms. “I’m hyper-independent, which is good and also sometimes not great. But some men need more time to grow, which is what we also learned from Summer. We’re so quick to try to rush things in life. One of my friends was like, ‘I can’t wait until we’re in our 30s and we’re… whatever.’ But I’m like, ‘Don’t rush it! We’re 22. We can take our time.’”

The star was rumored to be dating TikTok star Noah Beck after they were spotted at a Gracie Abrams concert in August 2025, but nothing appeared to come out of it.

She also was rumored to date her TSITP co-star Chris Briney, but he’s been in a long-term relationship with his college sweetheart, Isabel Machado. She shut down those rumors early on in the show. “Both Chris, who plays Conrad, and Gavin, who plays Jeremiah, are wonderful people and so easy to work with and so much fun to just be around,” she said on TODAY in 2022. “I feel very lucky that we had such a wonderful friendship, and it worked out.”

In an interview with Teen Vogue, she talked about the hard boundaries and advice she received from Jenny Han.

“It starts to get very overwhelming sometimes,” she told the site about the explosive fame. “There are so many people giving their opinions about you, and it can sort of mess with your head. My mind feels a lot clearer when I don’t have social media on my phone.”

That decision led to her not wanting to post anything but work on her social media. “At the end of the day, I’m not posting my family. I post my friends, but not all the time because I want them to feel like they have privacy too,” she explained. “I want people to feel a connection to the show and me, but they also don’t know me personally, and I don’t think anyone owes their personal business to anyone else.”

Despite not sharing anything about her personal life, she shared a little anecdote to Teen Vogue about running into an ex on the New York City streets.  “I ran into my middle school boyfriend on the bus the other day,” the actress said. “I was like, ‘Hey.’ He was like, ‘Hey.’ And he just started talking about how now he’s bouldering a lot.”

With Belly calling off her wedding with Jeremiah and Conrad confessing his feelings to his first love, the fans are wondering if Belly will end up with Conrad or not.

  • Unfortunately, I Watched My Life With The Walter Boys

Unfortunately, I Watched My Life With The Walter Boys

    [ad_1]

Let me just start by saying that I actually hate romance, and I don’t discriminate. I hate romance film, books, and television shows: the tacky plot, the cringe writing, the insufferable characters. But, to be transparent, I watch every single teeny-bopper love triangle show on the market.

I loved to hate The Summer I Turned Pretty, the adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel starring Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, and Christopher Briney in which Belly (Tung) falls in love with not one, but two brothers. It took over the world, having 30 year old women debating the question: Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah?

The “stuck between two brothers” trope is ever-popular and goes hand-in-hand with the classic Love Triangle. Think The Vampire Diaries, where Elena can’t decide who’s really right for her: Stefan or Damon. Or Twilight’s ever-present battle of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. So when I hear that Netflix has released their dupe of The Summer I Turned Pretty, I figured it would be the same, deliciously terrible media that we all love to consume…

Except it’s inherently terrible. Originally a Wattpad novel by Ali Novak, My Life With The Walter Boysfollows recent orphan Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) as she’s forced to move from Manhattan to Silver Falls, Colorado to live with her mom’s best friend (and her plethora of 10 sons) on a ranch.

Immediately, she’s torn between two boys: Cole, ex-football player who had a full ride to Alabama before he was injured (more on this later), and book nerd Alex, who is shy, soft-spoken, and making a play at Jackie’s heart. It has all the makings of the worst Hallmark film you’ve seen: overworked Manhattan socialite gets lost in small town with lumberjack that teaches her the meaning of Christmas. Except the men of the show are laughable at best.

Starting with Cole (Noah LaLonde), who absolutely cannot let anyone enjoy a football game without having a tantrum that he can’t play. Seriously, the guy had a breakdown when he learned someone else was wearing his number. So obviously, the clear lack of therapy and emotional comprehension is already a red flag…and to make matters worse he’s still in high school, so he just doesn’t want to play football if you ask me.

    Jackie and Cole

    Netflix

And then there’s Alex (Ashby Gentry). Hopeless, hopeless Alex. The Jeremiah of the brotherly duo. Poor Alex likes to read in his free time and is clearly the safer option for recently traumatized Jackie Howard. I have minimal problems with Alex in the same way I hate every character in this show, but his behavior offends me the least.

The show begs the question: what would happen if you combine The Vampire Diaries, The Fosters, The Summer I Turned Pretty…and gave it no plot with bad writing? And don’t you dare blame it on the Wattpad of it all…how could you when it gave us cinematic masterpieces like After?!

What is normally tolerable about these shows is that they are so simple, and the dialogue is so outrageous, that you physically can’t stop watching these characters ruin their lives. However, all I could think about while watching My Life With The Walter Boysis that every single character needs the heaviest of in-patient therapy.

Nevertheless, like all incessant annoyances in my life, My Life With The Walter Boys has been renewed for second season. And I guess I’ll have to watch.

  • Rising Pop Sensation Lyn Lapid On Her EP, to love in the 21st century

Rising Pop Sensation Lyn Lapid On Her EP, to love in the 21st century

    [ad_1]

How many times can you say you’ve been genuinely impressed by a vocalist’s raw talent? I guarantee this is how you’ll feel after listening to Lyn Lapid’s EP, to love in the 21st century. She’s a classically trained artist who can rock any vocal range, who leaves you guessing and wanting more while delivering a powerful chorus or dainty bridge, whose a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist all in one.

Lyn Lapid is not normal by any means. She’s mega-talented, almost concerningly so, and her lyrics bring a sort of honesty that is both refreshing and respectable. to love in the 21st century is an ode to popular teenage romcoms trending right now like The Summer I Turned Pretty and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, which cover the agonizing angst and pain you feel while falling in love as a teenager.

She started by posting covers with her ukulele on YouTube, garnering the attention of fans across the globe. And for a good reason, Lyn’s voice is unlike no other. She’s one of the young talents to start their careers by catapulting into the limelight via social media, following in the footsteps of the likes of pop sensations Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber. And yet, she’s wholly and uniquely Lyn Lapid. You can listen to her EP, which contains hit singles like “poster boy”, here:

Lyn Lapid’s debut EP is just the beginning, and Popdust got a chance to sit down and talk with Lyn about this huge 2023 she’s been having so far!

Congratulations on to love in the 21st century! How did you draw inspiration from popular romcoms like The Summer I Turned Pretty and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before?

I admired the cinematography and storytelling style of The Summer I Turned Pretty and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, so I drew inspiration from those aspects when I was piecing together to love in the 21st century. I also stressed on putting together a majority Asian American cast for the visualizers and music videos, similarly to TSITP and TATBILB because I wanted my project to also be a positive example of Asian American representation.

The EP takes listeners through the course of a first-time relationship and falling in and out of love…do you like to include a lot of storytelling in your songs or do you find yourself writing from personal experience more?

I do both! The songs on this next project not only revolve around one story but are also a collection of written personal experiences from me and someone very close to me. The EP tells the story of a no label relationship between a girl and a boy, which is based off a true story.

If you had to choose, what are your favorite tracks off to love in the 21st century and why?

I would have to say “like you want me to.” I love repurposing beautiful melodies from classical pieces, and I actually interpolated Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no. 2 in C minor when writing the chorus of “like you want me to.” I just remember being in love with the song we came up with that day after I came in and showed the writing session the chorus I had written beforehand.

You started by posting covers and playing instruments like the ukelele on YouTube…how did that help connect you with fans and ultimately shape your music career now?

I started posting covers with my ukulele for fun, and I think that’s when I realized that I really enjoyed singing and growing a connection with people who enjoyed watching my covers. I shifted focus away from covers when I started putting out original music, and I’m so grateful for the fans that stuck by me and enabled me to have the career I have now.

Is there a favorite song of yours to cover?

I’d definitely say “Love Like You” from Steven Universe.

You’re currently on a tour for the new EP…what can fans expect from a Lyn Lapid show?

You can definitely expect a lot of me engaging with the crowd. I love performing the songs and having the audience sing along with me, but I also love to engage with the crowd by talking to them. Whether it’s telling the story behind the song before I sing it or teaching them a part they can sing along to, I definitely prioritize keeping the crowd engaged. I also love to rearrange my songs so that it includes a lot of crowd participation. I’d hate for my shows to be boring, so I avoid that by including the audience as much as possible in my set.

What has been the best memories of your tour so far?

I’d say meeting the fans. As an artist that’s started on social media, it was hard for me to conceptualize how many people I was really reaching with my music. When I play live and do meet and greets, I can finally put faces to the names of people I had been interacting with on my social media through my music, and it makes me feel solidified as an artist.

  • What We’re Reading Summer 2023

    What We’re Reading Summer 2023

    [ad_1]

Reading is extra trendy right now. Almost every show of the summer is an adaptation of a book. There’s Daisy Jones & The Six, Bridgerton, Virgin River,The Summer I Turned Pretty, Heartstopper do I need to go on?

Summer provides a little bit more vacation time to spend on the beach. So naturally, people are diving into novels. Plus, there’s BookTok, where you can get an instant, possibly honest review of a book before entering a store. And, to top it all off, the rising popularity of leather bound novels and vintage-style books. Needless to say, the accessory of the summer is a good book.

I’ve been tearing through books lately, spending hours in the sand barely looking up from the pages. I had to spend hundreds of dollars at Barnes and Noble to ensure I have a stock of books to last me at least through July. A library card would be cheaper, but keeping the books on my bookshelf fits my aesthetic better.

I’m a follower of Reese’s Book Club recs and I have seen what the latest in BookTok’s world is. Which is why you need to hear about the best books I’ve been reading this summer. Summer 2023 is the season for reading, because it’s trendy and it’s a way to get off your screen.

Here are my recs for what you should be reading this summer!

    My Murder – Katie Williams

    My Murder

    Katie Williams

“Lou is a happily married mother of an adorable toddler. She’s also the victim of a local serial killer. Recently brought back to life and returned to her grieving family by a government project, she is grateful for this second chance. But as the new Lou re-adapts to her old routines, and as she bonds with other female victims, she realizes that disturbing questions remain about what exactly preceded her death and how much she can really trust those around her.”

    Hello Beautiful – Ann Napolitano

    Hello Beautiful

    Ann Napolitano

“William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all. With the Padavanos, William experiences a newfound contentment; every moment in their house is filled with loving chaos.

But then darkness from William’s past surfaces, jeopardizing not only Julia’s carefully orchestrated plans for their future, but the sisters’ unshakeable devotion to one another. The result is a catastrophic family rift that changes their lives for generations. Will the loyalty that once rooted them be strong enough to draw them back together when it matters most?”

Lessons in Chemistry – Bonnie Garmus

    Lessons In Chemistry

    Bonnie Garmus

“Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

But like science, life is unpredictable. Which is why a few years later Elizabeth Zott finds herself not only a single mother, but the reluctant star of America’s most beloved cooking show Supper at Six. Elizabeth’s unusual approach to cooking (“combine one tablespoon acetic acid with a pinch of sodium chloride”) proves revolutionary. But as her following grows, not everyone is happy. Because as it turns out, Elizabeth Zott isn’t just teaching women to cook. She’s daring them to change the status quo.”

    Romantic Comedy – Curtis Sittenfeld

    Romantic Comedy

    Curtis Sittenfeld

“Sally Milz is a sketch writer for The Night Owls, a late-night live comedy show that airs every Saturday. With a couple of heartbreaks under her belt, she’s long abandoned the search for love, settling instead for the occasional hook-up, career success, and a close relationship with her stepfather to round out a satisfying life.

Enter Noah Brewster, a pop music sensation with a reputation for dating models, who signed on as both host and musical guest for this week’s show. Dazzled by his charms, Sally hits it off with Noah instantly, and as they collaborate on one sketch after another, she begins to wonder if there might actually be sparks flying. But this isn’t a romantic comedy—it’s real life. And in real life, someone like him would never date someone like her . . . right?

With her keen observations and trademark ability to bring complex women to life on the page, Curtis Sittenfeld explores the neurosis-inducing and heart-fluttering wonder of love, while slyly dissecting the social rituals of romance and gender relations in the modern age.”

A Perfect Vintage – Chelsea Fagan

    A Perfect Vintage

    Chelsea Fagan

“Lea Mortimer has everything under control. As a highly sought-after consultant specializing in transforming dilapidated French country estates into boutique hotels, she relishes her freedom as a single, childfree woman. And her life is full, occupied as much by her impeccable historic renovations as by the aristocratic — and often exhausting — French families she works for.

But after the heated divorce of her closest friend and cousin Stephanie Bryce, Lea finds herself taking Stephanie and her college-aged daughter to the Loire Valley in France for the summer. As they tag along for Lea’s latest work assignment, despite their best intentions, they threaten to complicate the tightrope act of launching the hotel on time. And when Lea unexpectedly falls for the much-younger son of her boss, she quickly learns the beauty and danger of losing control.

As affairs bloom in the idyllic chateau, wars of inheritance play out between the family, and betrayals threaten even the most solid relationships. Lea realizes that it’s not just a broken heart she’s risking, but her entire, meticulously-constructed life blowing up in her face.”

A Wreath for the Enemy – Pamela Frankau

    A Wreath For An Enemy

    Pamela Frankau

“Penelope Wells, precocious daughter of a poet, is holidaying at her family’s distinctly bohemian hotel on the French Riviera. She spends the summer beneath the green umbrella pines and oppressive purple bougainvillea scribbling into her Anthology of Hates to pass the time. Until she meets the Bradleys.

Don and Eva Bradley are well-behaved and middle-class – everything she is not. It is love at first sight. But the friendship ends in tears. Penelope and Don Bradley leave the Riviera, embarking on the painful process of growing up. She, in love with an elusive ideal of order and calm. He, in rebellion against the philistine values of his parents.

Compellingly told in a series of first-person narratives, A Wreath for the Enemy explores death, morality, friendship and shows just how brittle and chaotic our lives can become once they collide explosively with those around us.”
