Dita Von Teese would very much like to be excluded from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Reality Von Tease narrative.

“Please report this page @realityvontease for using my photo for their profile,” Von Teese, 51, captioned an Instagram Story post on Tuesday, January 2. “Apparently it’s being used right now on @bravotv as well.”

Von Teese also shared a screenshot of the Reality Von Tease Instagram account, which was revealed on the season 4 finale to be run, in part, by RHOSLC star Monica Garcia.

“No, I do not watch this show and this account is using my photo,” Von Teese added in a second Instagram Story, responding to a fan question about whether she’s a RHOSLC fan. “Please report @realityvontease.”

Nothing was what it seemed for the women of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City — and they are still reeling after that finale bombshell. During the Bravo show’s season 4 finale on Tuesday, January 2, Heather Gay received information about newcomer Monica Garcia that changed the trajectory of the women’s Bermuda trip. “Monica is […]

Von Teese, known as the “Queen of Burlesque,” is an actress, singer, model and businesswoman. Her Instagram Stories were referring, in part, to the Reality Von Tease profile picture, which is a photo of Von Teese with a lace covering on her mouth. She was married to Marilyn Manson from 2005 to 2007.

During the RHOSLC season 4 finale, which premiered on Tuesday, Heather Gay dropped a major bombshell that Monica was behind the gossip account that had been “annihilating” members of the Bravo show for upwards of three years.

“Monica is not who she says she is,” Heather, 49, told Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow during the episode. “She’s not our friend. She’s someone that has schemed and worked to infiltrate our friend group. And the name that you all know her as, the woman whose birthday was celebrated, who we’ve been trying to champion and support and defend is Reality Von Tease.”

Following a slew of shady conversations, Heather decided to reach out to her hairstylist — who was also a friend of Monica’s — to find out who the newest Housewife really was. Their mutual friend confirmed that Monica was one of the people behind the Reality Von Tease account. Heather went on to verify the information with an unnamed source before confronting Monica with the accusations.

The drama went down during a full cast trip to the Bahamas, and Heather came face to face with Monica during a dinner where all the women were present.

“I have your perfect formula: receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots, f—king everything to prove that you are a f—king bully and a f—king troll and you do not deserve to be at this table or anywhere near any of us for the way you’ve treated us!” Heather yelled at Monica. “Every single one of us has woken up in fear for the s—t that you posted!”

Initially, Monica denied that she had anything to do with the Instagram account. However, she admitted to contributing to the page during her confessional.

“Von Tease was never just one person,” she admitted. “It wasn’t just me. There were several other humans involved, but bottom line, our mission was to take down Jen. The other women were just collateral damage.”

Monica called the RHOSLC women out for being “ridiculous,” further claiming that they had been “watching and DMing” the account “like, you were our biggest fans.”

“I, more than anyone, know that nothing stays in the dark, and everything comes to light. I knew that this information would come out,” she added. “Even Gossip Girl couldn’t stay Gossip Girl forever.”

  • RHOM’s Guerdy Abraira Slams Larsa Pippen for Sharing Cancer News

    John Parra/Telemundo; Amanda Edwards/Getty Images

Guerdy Abraira is not happy with Larsa Pippen after she told their Real Housewives of Miami castmates about her breast cancer diagnosis.

“It’s just the sloppiness of it being said in front of people I don’t even know,” Guerdy, 45, told Page Six on Tuesday, November 28. “It’s actually disturbing.”

Guerdy noted she was particularly upset that Larsa, 49, spoke about her health news with two women who aren’t Guerdy’s friends while prepping for a party with other people in the room. “To say my personal health news? You’ve got people bartending, waiters [around],” Guerdy said, adding that she was shocked by Larsa’s “nonchalant” attitude.

Guerdy shared her breast cancer diagnosis with Larsa during the November 15 episode of RHOM and asked her not to tell anyone because she hadn’t yet decided when she would share the news with some of their costars. At the time, Guerdy had already told Julia Lemigova, Adriana de Moura and Nicole Martin.

As RHOM producers helpfully told viewers, Larsa broke her promise just six hours after lunch with Guerdy, telling two of her friends about the diagnosis before breaking the news to costars Lisa Hochstein, Marysol Patton, Kiki Barth and Alexia Nepola.

When Guerdy and Larsa saw each other again during the Wednesday, November 29, episode of RHOM, Guerdy expressed her anger at Larsa by being short with her, but Larsa didn’t seem to think she’d done anything wrong. Nicole, meanwhile, revealed that Larsa called her to ask whether Guerdy really has cancer, so it seems certain that a bigger clash is coming.

Guerdy publicly announced her cancer diagnosis in May, revealing that she received her diagnosis two months prior. “I will ‘guerdyfy’ this cancer as I guerdyfy everything else in my life,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I am lucky that this breast cancer was discovered at an early stage — it is still scary of course, but I have love and support from those around me and that alone is the fuel that I need. For those who do not get health checks regularly, I urge you to. Your life depends on it.”

Many celebrities have spoken out about their personal battles with breast cancer over the years. Julia Louis-Dreyfus went public with her breast cancer diagnosis in September 2017 via Instagram. Nearly one year later, she had successfully beaten the illness and returned to work on Veep. “It sounds kind of corny, but there’s something about after […]

Guerdy completed her last round of chemotherapy in September. At BravoCon two months later, she told the crowd that she’s officially cancer-free. “I’m very excited and I’m so blessed and I literally wake up every morning counting my blessings and making it count,” she said. “Remember that. Make it count!”

In October, Guerdy told Us that she felt a major “release” after finishing her chemotherapy. “I just felt so free,” she said. “It felt so freeing to be me again and a new version of myself. So, now, it’s kind of like, I take no BS from no one, no more. No BS from no one, no more. That should be my new tagline: ‘I take no BS from nobody.’”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City 4, episode 10: From Whitney confronting Lisa’s behavior to Mary telling Heather she looks inbred

Season four of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City aired a new episode on November 14, 2023, and the equations between the cast are changing as situations arise. The members of season four consist of Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Angie Katsanevas, Monica Garcia, and Mary Cosby. It premiered on September 5, 2023, on Bravo. Here’s a recap of what happened in episode 10 titled Mormons Get a Bad Rap.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City 4, episode 10 recap

    Whitney and Lisa’s heated argument

Lisa arrives at Whitney’s house and the latter questions the former about her behavior at the pop-up event. “What the f*ck happened? I’m mortified that [you and Monica] behaved that way at my [event].” Lisa defended herself saying she didn’t start it and it was not her fault that Monica was ridiculous. Whitney replied that she didn’t care who started it since both of them should have had enough self-awareness they were screaming at her business event.

Though Lisa apologized to Whitney, their conversation only got more heated later. The latter mentioned in her confessional that it was difficult talking to Lisa since she only saw things from her perspective. Lisa started using harsher words after which Whitney’s 10-year-old son Brooks was spotted peeking to see what was happening. This was when Whitney decided to tell Lisa to shut things down. “I really don’t talk like that in my home,” she warned.

Whitney further told Lisa that her children were getting worried considering the high volume of the conversation and the words being used during it. She asked her to lower her voice and keep a check on her language. Though Lisa said she understood, she complained about it in her confessional claiming the first rule is to not make a guest feel uncomfortable.

    Heather’s visit to Mary’s house

Heather visited Mary’s home and was quite excited about it. She said there was there was no question when she was invited by the latter. “Grandpa Joe gets out of bed for two reasons: Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and Mary Cosby’s house tour,” Heather joked. Mary, on the other hand, had other priorities. She questioned Heather about what she wrote about her in her book and stated it wasn’t true. Heather insisted that every word was true.

Mary disagreed with the words boujie and poised being used to describe her. “Miss Mary, you are boujie and poised!” Heather replied and stated that even she felt hurt when Mary said she looked inbred. “Do you think I look inbred?” Heather asked Mary again, who replied without a pause, “I do.” Their chat concluded with Mary saying, “If that bothered you, let me apologize now. I just was angry, and I’m sorry. I would never want to intentionally hurt you.”

Lisa and Angie’s chat regarding Monica

At Heather’s book event, Lisa and Angie have their own issues. “I know you’re upset. You feel like I’m taking [Monica’s] side,” Angie told Lisa. The latter responded that she is just confused about her behavior considering she doesn’t like Monica and is not close with her. Angie responded that it was true but things have been good with her off-late which is why she’s trying to move forward with it. “There was some resolve,” she explained.

Angie revealed she did not want to tell her about making up with Monica since she knew Lisa would get upset. During her confessional, Lisa ranted, “It is such a f*cking copout to say I’m the reason you’re not telling me something. You’re the reason you’re not telling me something. You’re weak, you’re afraid and you’re a liar.” Angie further added that she felt she was on eggshells because she was concerned about Lisa’s feelings getting hurt.

  • Lisa Vanderpump Has ‘Empathy’ for Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

Lisa Vanderpump Has ‘Empathy’ for Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

Lisa Vanderpump isn’t ready to forgive Kyle Richards — but still feels for her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar amid her marriage woes with husband Mauricio Umansky.

“With Kyle and Mauricio I mean, I don’t have a great relationship with her, I’ve been honest about that,” Lisa, 63, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending BravoCon on Friday, November 3. “When somebody calls you a liar, it’s hard to come back from that when they don’t take it back. But I have empathy. Empathy for it. They’ve got a family and beautiful girls.”

While Lisa and Kyle, 54, were instant pals during the first season of RHOBH in 2010, their nearly decade-long friendship came to a grinding halt in 2018 after their costar Dorit Kemsley adopted a puppy from Kylie’s dog rescue center, Vanderpump Dogs. After the pet wound up at a killer shelter, Teddi Mellencamp accused Lisa of encouraging her employees to talk about the situation so it would be a storyline on the show.

While Kyle attempted to stay neutral in the feud, she questioned Lisa when the story leaked to the press — upsetting the Vanderpump Rules star. The women ended up in hearted a argument, with Lisa’s husband, Ken Todd, kicking Kyle out of the house and causing Lisa to cease communication with her costars, including Kyle, before officially exiting the Bravo series during season 9.

Gabe Ginsberg/Getty Images Bravo made sure to “mention it all” at BravoCon 2023, dropping show teasers and more bombshell revelations. The third annual convention kicked off in Las Vegas on Friday, November 3, with more than 150 Bravolebrities appearing at Caesars Forum throughout the weekend. “I predict chaos. I predict people overdrinking and being overserved […]

After their fallout, Kyle exclusively told Us that she had attempted to contact her former friend with no success. “Emails and text messages and, you know, I don’t know what else to do,” she told Us in November 2018. “As far as I’m concerned, the ball is in her court.”

The twosome seemingly haven’t made amends, but Lisa’s “empathy” comes amid a different kind of relationship drama for Kyle. Us confirmed in July that Kyle and Mauricio, 54, had separated after 27 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in 1996 and share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. (Mauricio is also the stepfather of Kyle’s daughter Farrah, 34, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie.)

Kyle and Mauricio shared a joint statement about their separation in July, noting that they had a “rough year” in their marriage but had no plans to divorce. “We both love and respect each other tremendously,” they wrote via Instagram. “There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.”

Tension between the two grew, however, when photos surfaced of Mauricio holding hands with his Dancing With the Stars partner, Emma Slater, last month. Kyle expressed her discomfort with the images during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, telling host Andy Cohen, “I don’t know if anything’s happened yet, but obviously there’s something there. … I love him very much and we are amicable. [But] that really did hurt me.”

Mauricio, for his part, addressed the romance rumors head-on in an October Instagram video with Slater, 34, insisting that the duo are “not dating.”

Kyle and Mauricio are not the only RHOBH who appear to be “having issues” in their marriage. In October, In Touch reported that Dorit, 47, and her husband, PK Kemsley, are living “separate lives.” The couple — who share daughter Jagger, 9, and son Phoenix, 7 — responded to the reports at the time, denying that they plan to end their marriage.

At the time, Dorit and PK, 56, added that they’ve had “some challenging years,” and will discuss their relationship on season 13 of RHOBH, which kicked off in October.

Meanwhile, a source exclusively told Us earlier this month that Dorit and PK are “spending time apart” while undergoing “couples counseling.”

“They both agree it’s the right thing to do,” a second insider told Us.  “It’s been a rough period for them. They want to say on amicable terms whether they stay together or not.”

While speaking with Us at BravoCon on Friday, Lisa shared that she doesn’t believe Dorit and PK are really in trouble, adding that she doesn’t “invest too much in rumors.”

“I haven’t heard much about that, and I don’t ever really believe rumors because I think all marriages go through a little bit of that,” she explained. “I’ve had been married 41 years, sometimes I’ve wanted to kill Ken and often [I’ve] kind of [been] honest about it. They go, ‘Oh, what’s it like being married?’ It’s f—king difficult! It is.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 is set to follow the end of her marriage to her husband, Mauricio Umansky. News broke that Kyle and Mauricio had separated after 15 years of marriage in July 2023. “Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. Kyle and Mauricio confirmed the split in a joint statement on their Instagram accounts at the time. In their statement, Kyle and Mauricio denied that they were divorcing, as well as denied that infidelity played a part in their separation. The statement came amid rumors that Kyle had cheated on Mauricio with her singer and friend Morgan Wade, who appears in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13. “In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue,” the statement read. “However, yes, we have had a rough year. Richards, 54, was already the mother of daughter Farrah, 34, whom she shares with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie, when she met Umansky. The Buying Beverly Hills star recalled the early days of his marriage to Richards as difficult, in part because money was super tight.

    Inside the ‘Real Housewives’ Renaissance

It was a different scene for Real Housewives of New York City alums Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan when they arrived in Benton, Illinois, to film their spinoff series, Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake. After years of private jets and luxury yachts, the duo found themselves in an unairconditioned sedan, driving sans chauffeur to the Benton Motel, a one-story lodge without any of the charm of the Hamptons hideaways to which they’re accustomed. Would these two city slickers crash and burn once they left the Upper East Side?

The answer, shockingly, was no. De Lesseps and Morgan started to fit right in within days, engaging in all kinds of activities you absolutely can’t do in Manhattan: mudding (off-roading in a mini monster truck), bull-testicle eating (what it sounds like) and noodling (catfish hunting with your bare or possibly gloved hands).

The surprisingly heartwarming Crappie Lake became an instant hit with fans and even critics, who don’t normally pay much attention to Bravo’s wares. New York magazine called it “the best show on Bravo” in July. TIME, meanwhile, hailed it as a “captivating comedic masterpiece” and a “refreshingly conflict-free return to form.”

It’s that last notion that seems to have proliferated across the Housewives universe of late, a welcome respite following a few years where the shows had turned relentlessly grim. After the coronavirus pandemic made filming extraordinarily complicated, some of the franchise’s brightest stars were hit with serious legal allegations. Erika Jayne of Beverly Hills was accused of embezzling money from families of plane crash victims (she’s in the clear for now), while Salt Lake City’s Jen Shah was arrested for wire fraud (she’s in jail for the next six years).

Housewives has always trafficked in these women’s woes — see any number of messy divorces and Teresa Giudice’s 2012 prison stint — but to many fans, these developments felt different. Ripping off the IRS is one thing, but allegedly scamming retirees and plane crash victims is quite another.

“Some of our shows have gotten very dark in the past few seasons, and it’s not that surprising,” says Sevin Cavusoglu, senior vice president of unscripted content at NBCUniversal. “These dynamics have been going on for 15, 16, 17 seasons. It’s good to counter that with some Crappie Lake silliness.”

Across the Housewives board, much of the action has gotten a lot more low-stakes. During RHONY’s first season with an all-new cast, the biggest blowups involved a prank war gone wrong and the question of whether it’s weird to serve a cheese plate at a house party. Over on Salt Lake City, which in season 2 featured an actual FBI raid, the gals are having it out over whether Meredith Marks should have invited Angie Katsanevas to her Palm Springs getaway — and whether Angie should have crashed the trip when she didn’t.

If you hadn’t heard of Ariana Madix before this year, you definitely have now. Already a beloved star of Bravo’s long-running Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spinoff, Vanderpump Rules, she became a household name this past spring after uncovering her boyfriend’s infidelity with her best friend — both Pump Rules costars. Madix was cheered for […]

Cavusoglu points to the RHONY’s women’s fight over a bleeped-out restaurant (later confirmed to be fading Manhattan hotspot Catch) as the perfect example of what embodies this current era of Housewives. “In a way, it’s a throwback to OG RHONY, because I feel like those are the conversations that Luann used to have — etiquette and where you won’t be seen, where you need to be seen and where you want to go,” Cavusoglu explains. “There’s just something so fresh, yet familiar about it.”

The RHONY revival represents one of the biggest swings Bravo has taken in years. After a lackluster season 13 that was so poorly received it didn’t even get a reunion — a depressing Housewives first — the network decided to wipe the slate clean and reboot the franchise in another first. Some viewers were angry to see favorites Morgan and de Lesseps swept out like so much trash after a roaring ’20s party. Others theorized that executives overhauled the cast rather than fire controversial OG cast member Ramona Singer, whose fights with RHONY’s first Black Housewife, Eboni K. Williams, crossed the line from thought-provoking to offensive. (A source told Us in October 2021 that Bravo launched an investigation after a crew member and Williams accused Singer of making racially insensitive comments. “For the first one filed by the crew member, the findings were corroborated,” the insider said at the time. “[For] the second one filed by Eboni, the findings were not corroborated.”)

Bravo eventually confirmed that Morgan, de Lesseps, Singer and three other “legacy” Housewives would participate in an all-RHONY season of Peacock original Ultimate Girls Trip, but fans remained skeptical of the new cast, which Andy Cohen announced at BravoCon in October 2022. It didn’t help that one of the new stars, Lizzy Savetsky, quit during filming. “The beginning was scary,” Cavusoglu admits. “Even within Bravo, there were a lot of skeptics because people are so loyal to the OGs.”

Within a few weeks of the show’s July premiere, though, the tide of public opinion had turned. Bravo stan accounts were fully on board, while legacy media outlets couldn’t stop gushing over bona fide fashion legend Jenna Lyons (the former fashion director of J.Crew who revitalized the brand in the early 2010s) emerging as the mysterious and refined elder stateswoman of the cast. Still other fans were pleased to see Brynn Whitfield and Sai De Silva speak honestly about their difficult childhoods in unusually moving moments.

In honor of Us Weekly’s first-ever Reality TV Stars of the Year issue, we’re rounding up the moments that had Us shook in 2023. “I’m beyond thrilled,” Ryan Flynn, senior vice president of current production at NBCUniversal, says of the show’s reception. “The RHONY audience has been one of the most passionate and most vocal and probably most strident in their love. Love to watch, hate to watch, love to hate-watch — all of it, but very vocal. It was not surprising when we were met with skepticism.”

By fall, the skepticism had melted away and been replaced with fierce debates about favorite Housewives and the ethics of gifting friends your sponsored products. “Very honestly, I feel very elated and vindicated in a way that we got to show everyone, ‘Give us a chance,’” says Cavusoglu. “We love and respect this show just as much as you all do. We’re not going to steer you wrong, and we want to do right by RHONY’s legacy.”

A similar trajectory took place on Orange County, the 17-year-old workhorse of the Housewives firmament and the one that started at all. Fans were again skeptical when Tamra Judge announced her return to the series in summer 2022, as a returning cast member usually spells doom for fresh ideas. In this case, though, Judge’s splashy homecoming added a much-needed jolt of low-stakes drama. With the addition of newbie Jennifer Pedranti and former Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong, season 17 proved there was still plenty of juice in the orange.

“It was a bit stale. We were kind of stumbling around for a bit,” says RHOC star Gina Kirschenheiter, who joined the show in season 13. “This year, everything clicked into place, because there was just good synergy with this cast. Whether we were really happy and having fun or really angry and having issues, it was real.”

Flynn, who first started working on RHOC in season 6, agrees. For season 17, producers decided to change “everything” — the graphics, the opening, the theme song, the showrunner. “After the last season where it felt like, ‘God, we’re just not moving the needle enough,’ we knew we needed to take — in Dorinda [Medley’s] words — a pause and not get right back on the same sort of schedule,” Flynn says.

For Flynn, a full-on break in filming is the first step when a franchise needs a shakeup. In the case of The Real Housewives of Miami, that break lasted a full 10 years, but the decision to revive the show seems to be paying off. After two seasons that streamed exclusively on Peacock, Bravo will be airing season 6 on linear TV starting November 1. Among fans, there’s talk of Miami being the strongest entry across all the Housewives cities right now. This is thanks in part to plenty of kooky drama — arguing over Brazilian butt lifts at a dog’s birthday party — but also the real, relatable experiences these women are having. Viewers saw the shocking breakdown of Lisa Hochstein’s marriage in season 5, while season 6 will track Guerdy Abraira’s fight against breast cancer. Critics love to brush off the Housewives as frivolous trash, but there are a scant few shows on TV that prioritize the real struggles of women in their 30s, 40s and above.

“You see people going through growing pains with their marriages. You see friendships really tested,” says Kathleen French, senior vice president of current production at NBCUniversal. “The women are beautiful and they have these wonderful high-end lifestyles, but they have real-life problems.”

French, a self-described member of the “Miami Fan Club,” was one of the execs instrumental in bringing RHOM back in 2021. The show is notable for being one of the most diverse entries in the Housewives franchise, featuring cast members from Cuba, Brazil, Haiti, Russia and Canada. “It’s a beautiful show. Miami is such a great international city at this point, and I think this cast reflects Miami,” French tells Us. “It’s a microcosm, I think, of what is actually going on in Miami right now.”

This may sound like PR spin, but diversity is obviously something French and her colleagues are thinking about when casting these shows. For the revamped RHONY, Cavusoglu was passionate about making sure that the show was a better reflection of the real people who make up New York City. “We wanted to diversify in terms of neighborhoods, in terms of professions,” she says. “I’m an immigrant woman myself, and one of the things I love about New York is you hear so many different accents and different languages when you walk down the street. It was like, ‘Where do we find that New York?’”

There’s no pleasing everyone, of course, but for the moment, plenty of fans are happy with what they’re seeing on RHONY, as well as RHOSLC, RHOC, RHOM and the rest. Real life may not be all diamonds and rosé, but on Bravo, the dream is still alive — so long as you pay your taxes.

The Real Housewives of Miami 6: From drink scuffles and bite marks to Guerdy Abraira’s breast cancer diagnosis; what to expect

The Real Housewives franchise has expanded multi-fold ever since its premiere back in 2006 with The Real Housewives of Orange County. Almost two decades later, it includes several American and international editions. From Salt Lake City, Sydney, and Atlanta to Beverly Hills, Dubai, and New York City, the reality series has seen its share of locations.

The Real Housewives of Miami is one of the many versions of the popular reality series and viewers can expect official news about the new season very soon. Until then, here’s what we know about season six of the Miami edition from filming details to potential storylines.

    Potential release date and cast

While there has been no official release date announcement, the last two seasons of The Real Housewives of Miami were released in December 2021 and 2022, so it’s quite possible the upcoming season six follows the trend and premieres in December 2023. On the cast front, all the Miami housewives are expected to return for season six including Larsa Pippen, Lisa Hochstein, Alexia Nepola, Guerdy Abraira, Dr. Nicole Martin, and Julia Lemigova.

Meanwhile, the women expected to feature as friends of the housewives include Marysol Patton, Adriana de Moura, and Kiki Barth.‌ The cast has not changed since 2021 which is why it’s possible there are no goodbyes or additions to The Real Housewives of Miami cast.

    Potential storylines: What to expect

Filming for season six was underway in April this year, as confirmed by some of the cast members. In May, Guerdy Abraira revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and is set to undergo surgery and treatment. Her battle with cancer is expected to be featured in season six. She wrote, “I will ‘guerdyfy’ this cancer as I guerdyfy everything else in my life. I am lucky that this breast cancer was discovered at an early stage.”

In July, Guerdy revealed that her chemotherapy had started. Meanwhile, Larsa Pippen is reported to have thrown a drink at Adriana de Moura, and the cameras were rolling when it happened. The former also revealed that she has a bite mark from one of the cast members. “Maybe it was a love bite, but one of the girls bit me the other day. This season is kinda crazy,” she told ET. Larsa also teased her boyfriend Marcus Jordan’s appearance.

For the unversed, Marcus is NBA legend Michael Jordan’s son. He told US Weekly that he “definitely filmed a little bit with Larsa this season” which seems to be confirmation that he will be appearing in the upcoming sixth season. Lastly, Lisa Hochstein’s divorce from Lenny Hochstein remains in process and will be featured in the season. She is dating entrepreneur Jody Glidden, and he previously appeared in the season five reunion.

  • ‘Real Housewives’ Star Heather Dubrow Has 1 Question About This Season’s Villain

‘Real Housewives’ Star Heather Dubrow Has 1 Question About This Season’s Villain

“Real Housewives of Orange County” fans have been put through the wringer over the past few seasons of the show — better known as its “flop era” by fans. We had to deal with the problematic Kelly Dodd, relive the beginning of COVID on TV and sit through multiple snooze-worthy seasons.

But after the chaos of Scandoval, “RHOC” is offering Bravo fans something a little lighter in Season 17 — and I’m not complaining. It’s also been offering a bit of a lighter side of one real housewife in particular: Heather Dubrow.

But she’s worried it’s unlikely to last.

“Look, for every 30 hours we film, 20 minutes makes it to the air,” Dubrow said. “I think that people that know me well would say, you know, that’s my personality. I’m lighter and sillier and maybe, yeah, a bit more fun, but let’s hope that lasts.”

During her time on the show, Dubrow has gained a reputation for being pretentious and condescending, and her castmates have really been pushing that narrative this season. Let’s be real: She is incredibly rich. Dubrow and her husband, Terry, recently sold their 14-bedroom mansion for a whopping $55 million.

Observing her at a recent press event, I found Dubrow to be particular, but not uppity. I was one of the first to arrive to interview her and while she asked for things to be a certain way, she seemed respectful in every request of restaurant staff. After the event, when everyone had left ― including Dubrow, initially ― I watched her come back alone and appear to personally thank the man who had waited on us.

Dubrow returned to “RHOC” last year and Bravo put her at the center in an attempt to bring “class” back to the show. She was quickly tasked with “saving it” by many fans — which is quite a tall order. Her first season back didn’t go particularly well: The show’s ratings were low and it was given a lackluster two-part reunion.

It was proof that one person alone can’t save a show. (As Dubrow says herself, it is an ensemble cast, after all.) Bravo brought back longtime staple Tamra Judge for Season 17, along with Taylor Armstrong from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” as a friend, and OG Vicki Gunvalson has made a few cameos.

HuffPost sat down with Dubrow to talk about the naysayers, what to expect from this season of “RHOC” and who she predicts is going to be this season’s villain.

So what can we expect from this season and how do you think it differs from last season?

When I rejoined the cast last year, it was very odd. The only one I knew was Shannon. And other than that, it was a completely different show. This year, I think especially with the return of Tamra, it feels more familiar. And I really think the audience is gonna feel that way too. I think it’s what was missing.

Do you think viewers are ready for something a little lighter, especially after the weight of Scandoval?

I mean obviously, that’s a real thing that happened, kind of like the Brooks cancergate thing. They were all real things and very heavy. But I agree with you and I think in general I prefer my Housewives sillier and pettier. Like, you broke the bow off my cake and ate it. We like that and that’s stuff we can get behind. That’s why even though this whole thing you see with me and Taylor and this movie that she’s doing and whatever ― it’s like, it’s petty. And it’s good. Petty’s good.

You were kind of brought in last season to save the show. What do you say to the haters and those who think Tamra being back means she was brought in to revamp the show again?

Someone told me today that Shannon said that Tamra’s comeback is bigger and better and I’m like, take it. First of all, why is everything a competition? Who’s more iconic? I don’t need it. You can have it, honestly, but let’s be practical. This is an ensemble show. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. And I can’t come back and save the show. Tamra can’t come back and save it. Everyone’s gotta be firing on all cylinders. It’s a group thing and none of that bothers me. We all want to be a part of something successful, and whatever that means and whatever it takes to get there is what we all want. And that’s what we all should want. But labeling it as who’s the hottest and who’s the more iconic and who’s bigger? If someone needs a title, take it. I’m totally fine with that.

Shannon also told Us Weekly that you’re “on your own this season.” Was there some sort of falling out with the group?

I think that somewhere in the middle of the season I realized like, what is going on? I really was on an island. The question is: Did I isolate myself or did they isolate me? I have my own opinions about that, but I really wanna watch it. Am I wrong? Are they? I don’t know.

This scene that you’re alluding to that you felt very alone — can you talk more about that?

Just the whole thing is so odd. I don’t even know how to describe it because I feel like I was there, I know how I feel. I know the things that happened and then other things happened and I felt like I was constantly playing catch-up or saying the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing. I mean, I’m no perfect person. That’s for sure. No one is. But I’m also not a bad person and so the amount of things that I feel came my way seem like a lot. But I can also be overly sensitive so there’s that too.

Was there anyone who you really thought would have your back this season that didn’t?

Yeah, I’m surprised by Gina. I’m surprised by Gina in the first episode, I have to say. I texted her and I went, ‘Whoa. Wow. Your comments in your confessional, even in the first episode ― I’m just, I’m so hurt.’ I really connected with her last year and when we were done filming the season, we hung out and we had dinners and lunch with Emily, too, and had Gina’s family over to my house. We had dinner together with my kids. I felt very close to her and then she disappeared. And that’s why when I had her over [in the first episode], I’m like, what’s the story? Are we friends? Are we not friends? And yeah, I watched the comments she made, which I guess I didn’t realize at the time, like her saying, I missed your castle and stuff like that. You know, people made comments last year like, ‘Oh, Gina really likes you because you take her places.’ And I was like, that is such bullshit. That’s not true. But then I watched it back and I went, was that true?

What about Tamra coming back? How do you feel like that played out?

Well, she is Orange County. I thought it was great. She’s angry with me because I made a comment before I knew she was coming back and I said something like, how could Tamra come back when she has a show talking about the housewives? It felt very meta to me. It wasn’t meant to be, but she took it very negatively. I didn’t really mean it negatively. And then Andy Cohen said something very similar, so she thinks I called him, which didn’t happen. I’ll tell you, Andy and I have a very nice relationship, but I am a very tiny cog in the Andy Cohen world. If you think I’m gonna use my three minutes of time that I have with Andy to talk about someone else, you’d be wrong. I have my own things to talk about that are important.

Who do you predict is this season’s villain?

I mean, I keep going, is it me? Like, am I a villain? I don’t know. I mean, I don’t feel like a villain and I don’t feel like I did anything. Definitely not anything on purpose to hurt anyone.

New episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

  • ‘Real Housewives’ Star Candiace Dillard Bassett On Shakeups In ‘Potomac’

‘Real Housewives’ Star Candiace Dillard Bassett On Shakeups In ‘Potomac’

For some of us, the seventh season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” which concluded on Sunday, was not as enjoyable as the seasons before it for a few reasons.

A lot of the cast was lying — about other people’s husbands, about what’s going on in their actual lives — and when they weren’t spreading lies, the way some of the housewives were treated prompted accusations of colorism, recalling the ills of the show’s boring and elitist inaugural season.

But even if this season wasn’t as enjoyable as some others, there were some bright spots.

For a lot of viewers, that was largely due to Candiace Dillard Bassett, who not only broke down the fourth wall to combat some of the aforementioned shenanigans but also managed to make viewers laugh in spite of the misery around her.

Meanwhile, Dillard Bassett has been keeping busy — beyond defending her husband against Gizelle Bryant. The singer-actor recently released the deluxe version of her debut album, “Deep Space,” is serving as the opening act for Faith Evans, Mya, 702 and SWV, and stars in the drama series “Hush,” which airs on AMC Networks’ ALLBLK.

While shooting a film in Atlanta before heading back on tour, Dillard Bassett made time to hear me air my grievances about Season 7 of “RHOP” and shared what she hopes happens in Season 8. She also confirmed that no matter what’s been said about her or her husband, she’s staying on “Potomac” for as long as it serves its purpose.

We’re speaking on the eve of the third installment of the reunion, but no matter what airs tomorrow, the show has disappointed me. I’ve enjoyed parts of it — mainly, watching you dive more into your music career and take more serious steps toward planning for motherhood — but overall, I haven’t been as turned off since the first season.

You said in a separate interview: “I honestly think that some of us have run out of things to talk about,” which I think nails it, along with some of your co-workers refusing to talk about what’s actually happening in their lives. Instead, we got a lot of accusations and lies between people who don’t seem to really like each other.

You’re not in control of the direction of the show, but where do you hope it will go next season?

Oh, gosh, that’s a loaded question.

I’ll say this: The optimist in me would love to see a world where we can come back together as a group because, as it stands currently, we are a broken group. We are broken more so than I feel like we’ve probably ever been as a group. There is no way around that.

And it’s very scary because you can’t have a show without a group of girlfriends who are willing to share their lives honestly and openly and participate in the premise of the show, which is about a group of affluent women sharing their lives and their friendships. So I would hope that there is a world where we can come back together, but I don’t know what that looks like.

Who on the show at this point do you consider to be a genuine friend?

Well, I’m always my own friend first, but aside from that, you know, I have found loyalty and friendship in Wendy [Osefo].

I feel like Wendy kind of got a bad rap at the beginning of her time on the show, and I think a lot of it had to do with her not being open. And I have really enjoyed kind of watching her in real life and on the show open up and really be vulnerable and show us Wendy. She’s shown us more of who she really is, and I’ve appreciated that as someone who is vulnerable to a fault. I look for that in my friends, so I can honestly say that I’m happy that I’ve found that in her and Karen — though we’ve had our situationship.

I still have so much love for Karen. I think in spite of it all, I see Karen’s heart and I understand her as a person. Aside from myself, I would say Karen is probably one of the most consistent people on our show, and I can appreciate and love her for that. And she’s always tried, with the exception of maybe once or twice, to be a good friend to me.

Those are the two people that I communicate with the most.

(Left to right) Wendy Osefo, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Ray Huger, Karen Huger.

I don’t want at least half your cast on the show anymore, but I know you don’t advocate for anyone losing their jobs. Inflation and unemployment being a terrible combination aside, do you think new energy could help the show?

I’m always open to having new people come into the fold.

I think, and you know — if you look back at the history of these “Housewives” franchises, we’re entering into Season 8 of this show, [and] by Season 8, there are shakeups. A lot of times, it can be difficult for the ones who’ve maybe been there from the beginning to continue to give of themselves in the same way if they’ve given it all, and you just maybe need a break or just a changing of the guard, if you will.

And we are hopefully gonna be entering into our eighth season. That’s almost a decade of “Potomac,” which is incredible and admirable and something to be proud of. But I do think that there’s a precedent that’s already been set that says, if you’re not able to give what needs to be given when it’s time to give, then you need to give yourself an exit and allow others to be ushered in so that you can just have new blood. And there’s just something interesting for an audience and for us about getting to know someone new and bringing someone new into the fold.

Blink twice if your back is OK from carrying this whole season.

Oh, gosh. My back is fine. [Laughs.]

I know there was a big deal made about you breaking the fourth wall on the show this season during that scene with Gizelle, but I was curious if you found that to be a bit antiquated because some reality franchises have long embraced that they are indeed filming a television show and it hasn’t damaged the show in any way.

For me, it wasn’t about creating a moment. It was about right. I don’t know about other shows, but on our show, we break the fourth wall all the time. I’m always looking right into the camera and talking shit, or, you know, just looking into the camera to be silly.

There was an episode of ”[Real Housewives of] Atlanta” last year, I think, where they were at somebody’s house and Kenya was super drunk, and she’s like twirling in the camera, I’m so fabulous. I thought it was hilarious, and I love that they showed that. I just think it has to make sense.

There have been other times on my show, like two seasons ago, my mom said something to me, she was like, cussing me out or something, and I looked right into the camera, said, “Did you get that?” Like a quick moment? Everyone says, “Candiace is so disrespectful, and she da da da da da da. OK. But did you hear what my mama said? OK. All right.”

But for this, whether it was right or not, I appreciated that all of the fourth-wall moments were shown — especially because the people who were orchestrating the fake stories just would never expect that to be the case. Like, she went back into the room after she dropped her rehearsed bomb with a smile on her face as if what had transpired in that dance studio was not going to be discussed. Because I did look right into the camera and say, “What is happening?” And then I got up and started screaming for our executive producer, Eric, and all of that. And that’s the gag for me [because it’s like], “Oh dear heart, you thought and you were incorrect.”

That makes me wonder if you get tired of some of your co-workers acting more like producers than cast members.

Everybody has a role, and I think our show would run more smoothly if everyone just stayed in their lane. You can’t reach for the stars when you don’t have the bandwidth. You don’t have what it takes.

From what I saw on Twitter, you seem pleased with how the colorism segment on Part 2 of the reunion went. Am I characterizing that correctly?

I was appreciative that we were given a platform, however large or small, to begin the conversation in a constructive way, because we had not before had that opportunity. Because it’s also easy for them to just say, “Eh, we’re good. We don’t even need to address [it]. It’s fine.” But just from those two minutes — the amount of dialogue that has ensued, the amount of emails and gems and threads from here to Mexico that I have read — I think that was the goal.

Being a Mary J. Blige stan, when I saw that you were on the show recording with Chucky Thompson, I knew you were taking your music ambitions seriously. Much as I love the bops from Real Housewives like Countess Luann, I understand why there are skeptics out there, but at the same time, we’ve seen reality TV launch a lot of careers — particularly Black female R&B singers. Did you know there was space for a Real Housewife to be serious and be taken seriously?

1001%. So I’ve talked about this before: I prayed about the opportunity to have this platform. I knew the trajectory I wanted to take and I knew that, having watched and grown up watching reality TV, if positioned the right way, I could use this platform to do all the things that I wanted to do.

So in my prayer, I said, “Lord, if you give me this platform, I promise to try and use this to glorify your name and make something of myself and accomplish the goals that you have said that I’m supposed to accomplish and the things I’m supposed to have.”

I’m not perfect, but I have done that. It was always the plan.

You have mentioned having a plan when it comes to using “Real Housewives” as a jumping point for other opportunities in the entertainment industry — including knowing when might be the right time to leave. I’m not going to ask you to share specifically about your timeline, but I am curious to know if this past season and how it impacted your husband has influenced your timetable on a potential exit in any way.

No, because for me and for my husband, one thing that you will never do is run us off. Right? If I’m fired, then OK, that’s outta my control. But when it is time to go, it’ll be time to go because myself and my family have made the conscious decision to say, as you said, we are no longer served [by] being here. Or it’s just time for a shift. Because I’m eternally grateful for the way this platform has helped me to elevate myself and has allowed me to be who I am in these spaces. I would hope to be able to leave on great terms, and if I wanted to pop back in and say “Hey,” I would like to be able to do that.

I plan a lot of things on the grander scale. Like, NBCUniversal is a wonderful home, and there are a lot of great things that can be done at that home. So it was more so, how are we going to attack this issue in the most diplomatic way, but also in a way that is beneficial to us in every way possible mentally, physically, emotionally, as it relates to our careers? How are we going to handle this and rise to the occasion of the challenge?
