Yes, we’re seeing the rise of pieces like cozy faux fur coats that are primed for dropping temps and inclement weather, but the most in-demand pieces overall could easily be worn now as well as six months or six years from now.     Gucci’s recent runway collections have been packed with archival references, resurrecting demand for pieces such as the fashion house’s slim horsebit accessories—specifically new takes on the belts and bags that first debuted in the ’90s. Phoebe Philo’s A1 drop continues to permeate the fashion space and while many items have already sold out, the sunglasses are still available in some colorways. The accessories theme is also extending to the jewelry space. We’re especially seeing wrists layered with heritage watches coupled with tennis bracelets.     Unlike other luxury houses that start with haute couture or ready-to-wear lines and then expand to accessories, Bottega Veneta, from the jump, was in their bag (literally). Though the Italian fashion house was founded in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro, it has remained a symbol of understated luxury worldwide because of its emphasis on craftsmanship. For the atelier, it’s not just a publicity stunt to champion artisan techniques; it’s a part of their history. Case in point: their signature woven leather technique, intrecciato. The braiding technique put the brand’s bags on the map, but the long legacy of this luxury house isn’t the only reason it’s stayed on it. In recent years, we’ve seen the brand’s rich archives reimagined through various creative directors, including the recently appointed Matthieu Blazy.

    Since his debut collection in F/W 22, Blazy has managed to weave together the legacy of this house into the modern world through his contemporary take on the intrecciato weave—we’ve seen it applied to knee-high wader boots, tailored pencil skirts, and, of course, handbags. While there have been numerous items by Blazy that have blown up, none have done so quite like the Andiamo Bag. Debuted on the S/S 23 runway, this bag is characterized by its timeless top handle shape with a sliding cross-body strap, metal knot hardware, and supple leather that comes in 10 colors. Additionally, the bag comes in three sizes, making it one of the most pragmatic purses to purchase on the market—at least in the eyes of the celeb set. In the past few months alone, this bag has already been spotted on the Michelle Yeoh, Jacob Elordi, and Hailey Baldwin Bieber; it likely won’t stop there. With so many people (even stars) craving pieces that embody the “quiet luxury” aesthetic, this bag will only get buzzier.

Securing a designer handbag is the best thing you can do for your future self. But if you’re like me and find it difficult to decide which designer handbag is worth buying, don’t fret.

But it’s not just this bag’s meteoric rise in popularity that makes it such a sound purchase at this moment and beyond. Instead, the bag’s idiosyncratic shape encapsulates Andreson’s entire design perspective—i.e., he can take the seemingly “mundane” and transform it into something magical.

    For this bag, Anderson drew inspiration from inverted travel pillows, hence the dramatic bumper edge, which is filled with tubing, to create this bag. The bag comes in multiple silhouttes (including a baguette, clutch, and crescent shape), numerous sizes, various colorways, and textures. Of course, the style is eclectic; it’s not your run-of-the-mill designer bag, but that’s what makes it a worthwhile purchase. So much of Anderson’s work taps into our collective imagination, and a single price tag can’t fully encapsulate the added value of that type of creativity.

To get a closer look at the best summer shopping, we spoke with Mytheresa Vice President of Fashion Buying Tiffany Hsu to weigh in about which trends will be most impactful.
